We will discuss topics and practices that will help you deepen your intimacy with God the Father, exercise your authority in Jesus the Son, and move in the Power of the Holy Spirit.We want to walk in God’s truth, intimacy and power. We need all three strands working together in our lives because we believe that nothing else will do.
In this podcast, Coach Tom interviews friend, author, speaker and Kingdom trainer, Rob Reimer. You will hear of God's work of healing in his own life, and through him to others around the world.
Some key concepts:
- Finding God's fit for you will bring more fruit and more fun.
- God wants access to your heart and soul...often that is achieved through pain.
- There is no power without the cross. Impartation requires character and intimacy to sustain it. We must die to live.
- Apart from God you can many things, but without abiding you can do no Kingdom work.
- Not every need is your assignment.
- The secret to success is to find out what God wants of you and do it, no matter the personal cost...and there will be personal cost.

Dr. Rob Reimer’s passion is to see the Kingdom of God advance through spiritual renewal. Rob began Renewal International to assist pastors, leaders, and churches globally to equip the people of God to live in freedom in Christ, and to walk in the fullness and power of the Holy Spirit.

How do you build anything in the world ... especially the things God wants you to build?
o Some hope … some pray – and don’t see anything happen
o Often people are praying for “Magic” that God will make something appear or happen from nothing … but that’s not generally how things work.
o A hope/prayer without a plan is often just a dream
o Some hope and plan … and still nothing happens … you need work/action
o Faith without Action/Work is dead … lifeless, powerless (James 2:26)
Building anything in this world, whether it's a project, a skill, a relationship, or a dream, requires a combination of three essential elements: Time, Energy, and Money. These components form a triad that interconnects and influences the process of creation and development.

In this episode, Coach Tom interviews Marina Dalton-Brown, a friend who started as a client in his coaching program.
Marina carries a particular burden and inspiration to see justice in healthcare - particularly women's healthcare worldwide.
Her praying grandmother impacted her and her faith became her own in her university years.
The birth of her children and an experience of real fellowship with others were game-changers for her.
Professional life-shift has caused Marina to deepen her commitments and lean on her community of truth. Amidst the trials of life, she has sensed the Lord affirming that He is always with her. They have helped her learn how to be anchored in Christ, and how to avail herself to His presence.
In this interview, Marina encourages us to pay attention to what's going on around us ... and to pray (specifically pray in tongues) to be built up on the inside.

Marina Dalton-Brown is currently the Manager of Insights Exchange for
Population Services International (PSI), supporting the mission of strategic
learning across PSI’s global network and among global health entities. She
previously held the portfolios of PSI’s Knowledge Management Technical
Advisor, and Executive Director of PSI-Caribbean, a regional network
member of PSI.
Marina holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Graduate
Diploma in Health Management, both from McGill University in Montreal,
Canada. She also holds a Master of Public Health degree from St.
George’s University, Grenada.
Among the various ventures Marina has undertaken in her professional
career have been working with diverse groups of women at Women’s
Health in Women’s Hands in Toronto, developing an urban child
sponsorship model with World Vision in South Africa, and coordinating a
women’s coalition focusing on Gender and HIV at the Caribbean sub-
regional office of UN Women.
Marina lives in Trinidad and Tobago with her husband and four children.
She remains passionate about social justice, and equal access to quality
healthcare for all.

Francois was educated at UMass Amherst, Harvard University and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. He is happily married to his college sweetheart, Stania Augustin. They are the proud parents of 4 children: Leisa Abigail, Andre Michael, Esther Marie, and Elijah Francis.

Philippa Davis is a board-certified anesthesiologist in Washington, DC, U.S.A.
She was born and raised in Nassau, Bahamas. During her childhood and adolescent years she was a competitive swimmer, and at 13, she proudly represented her country at the Caribbean Island Swimming Championships in Curacao.
Philippa has her Bachelor of Science Degree in Physiology, from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec. She studied medicine at Georgetown University, at which time she determined to pursue specialty training in Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine. Her Internal Medicine internship was completed at Mount Sinai, New York City, followed by an Anesthesiology residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA, and a Critical Care Medicine Fellowship at Stanford University in CA.
She is passionate about influencing the care and development of healthcare providers, particularly trainees, to ensure the "health" of the healthcare systems thrive, not just survive.
She is a wife, daughter, bonus- mom, sister and aunt. Family and friends are extremely important to her.
She loves fitness, reading and traveling. Her latest hobby is tennis.

Devin Ferreira is an Emmy award-winning recording artist and faculty in the Music Production and Engineering Department at Berklee College of Music.
He was born in New Sharon, Maine and began recording in a professional studio at age 15. This experience was formative for Devin as he would attend UMass–Lowell and graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Music Business in 2007.
In 2009, he began working with young people in Boston teaching music production and coordinating performances. Along with earning his Master of Education from Lesley University in 2013, Devin has taught music to 7,000+ youth in the Greater Boston area.

Pastor Claire Sullivan has been navigating as an urban missionary through systemic poverty since 1990. She has been pioneering/planting ministries within Boston and Lynn, MA working with homeless youth and adults, incarcerated and gang-affiliated youth and adults, and now a missionary with Youth with a Mission in Thailand (YWAM) serving in the Rak teh slum. She is now planting a church called Khian Khan (Come alongside you) in Bangbon, Bangkok with a Thai pastor reaching migrant workers from Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, and Laos. Claire holds a MA in Urban Ministry from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary and is a certified spiritual director. She is a "Hope Dealer."

Jordan Allen was born in Massachusetts. When he was a child, he and his family moved to Northern Virginia where they planted Gateway Community Church. He served on the youth worship team at Gateway, and later as a worship leader with Chi Alpha Fellowship at the University of Virginia. Upon graduation, Jordan spent 10+ years in the software consulting industry. But Jordan felt called to lead worship as a focus of his life ... so he made a switch. Today, Jordan serves full-time, at Gateway Community Church, as the Worship and Creative Arts Director ... he is livin' the dream.

Are you being TOO polite in life? What doors are you waiting to walk through?

What are some things that you find to be particularly delightful?
... things/experiences that bring you a sense of deep joy?
You might have trouble accessing those memories right now - as a number of us feel as if our joy is being sucked out of us ... possibly by busyness, worry, doubt, fear - or the over-consumption of entertainment.
Well ... God wants to connect with you in deep delight and joy!
He is after a deep, honest, self-aware relationship with you ... one where you are able to BE PRESENT to, and HONEST with Him, yourself, and others. This is a miraculous and transforming relationship. It affects your identity, outlook, and what you do.
The apostle Paul described his experience this way:
"I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God, I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me."
- He knew who he was, what he deserved and didn't deserve.
- He experienced God's grace - His kingdom infusion of identity and resources from heaven.
- This grace changed how he saw himself, and it energized his life and ministry.
God delights and takes joy in you.
(Deuteronomy 30:9, Psalm 18:19, Zephaniah 3:17)
His joy in you can become your strength! (Nehemiah 8:10)
God longs for you to reciprocate His delight - He wants you to delight in Him. This responsive delight actually opens you to your own deep desires - the desires God had placed within you.
(Psalm 37:4)
Take time to develop and cultivate your relationship with God - by establishing intentional and meaningful "Connection Time."
In that space, you can begin to Clarify who you really are in Christ, own it, manage (steward) it, aim it, exercise it and contend for more.
Jesus did just that ...
The book of Hebrews says,
"Since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer, and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before Him, He endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." (Hebrews 12:1-2)
You, too, can experience the Father's joy in you and what He wants to accomplish through you. His joy can fuel your perseverance and endurance. Enter in ... "take hold of that for which Christ has taken hold of you." (Philippians 4:12)
His joy can empower your strength and endurance - just as it did for Jesus!

I've been excited to get the chance to interview Andrea for a while. She is one of my star clients in my "Get Clear, Get Focused and Be Fruitful" program. She is a gifted communicator, and she helps me interview a number of people on these podcasts.

What really stirs your heart?
- What are you passionate about? - Things that inspire you that you really want to do or accomplish ... Pay attention ... there's a good chance these desires come from God.
- What really frustrates you or makes you angry about others or situations? - This, too, can point you toward what God wants. These might be areas where you can make a difference, solve a problem or help people change.
Do you want a fulfilling and meaningful life?
Go where the problem is and bring God's supernatural healing and solution.
God demonstrated His image in this way. "God so loved the world that He ... " incarnated. He became one of us - He came close and lived "with us" - Emmanuel. He who knew no sin became sin (a sin payment) for us - so, we can become (and experience) the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:21)
- Love moves toward people and difficulties.
- Fear moves away from people and difficulties.
This is the kind of love that dynamically moves toward people:
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes and always perseveres. Love never fails!
Are you moving toward or away from particular people, people groups, places, or problems?
Take time to really consider this question specifically and concretely - it can reveal a lot.
- How are you moving toward or moving away?
- Why are you moving toward or moving away?
When you are ready to move ahead in love - get involved and help with the solutions and resources God provides. Rarely will Kingdom resources surface/manifest till you are actually in the situation and touching the need.
I believe it's time to look around with fresh God-given eyes to see what He's doing ... and get moving. Don't just do something, however, discern and align with what God is doing.
A new day is dawning. Some of it might be "good," and some of it might be "bad" - politically, financially, socially, etc. But, these circumstances don't REALLY matter. New days in the Kingdom are always good - because they are full of God's presence.
IN CONCLUSION:
- Take time to consider people, groups, places God places on your heart.
- Are you moving toward them or away from them?
- Allow God to give you fresh insight.
- What problems, pains or challenges has God uniquely positioned you to miraculously solve or transform?
It's time to engage supernaturally!

"All you need is Love" ... "Love makes the world go round" ... Really?
What kind of love are we after? What kind of love actually is of benefit and heals the soul?
One term that is often used - particularly in Christian circles - is "Unconditional Love."
I've asked some people what Unconditional Love means - and almost everyone has answered ... "Well, it's hard to explain." So, we are encouraging people to love each other with a kind of love we cannot explain. That doesn't seem very helpful to me.
Some, however, would describe it as "loving with no strings attached ... love that is freely offered ... a compassionate love. And some simply say "AGAPE" love - referring to God's love.
I personally find "Sacrificial Love" to be a more helpful way of understanding real love.
Love costs ... and sometimes it costs a lot. It requires personal sacrifice. It may cost patience, forgiveness, money, misunderstanding, and frustration. It will require time and energy.
God's love for us is sacrificial, and our best love toward others is also sacrificial.
In this podcast, I describe the difference between sacrificial love and people-pleasing - just to make others happy, the ability to recognize and thank others for their sacrificial love toward us, and how to bring God into the sacrificial love picture.
Sacrificial love requires and ability to reset and refresh your love with God's help and resources - so you don't get overly worn and your love doesn't grow stale. God can help you love others beyond your normal capacity.
As we consider real love ... Sacrificial Love ... we are left with a few questions:

Is there anyone God is bringing to our minds to whom we might need to express fresh sacrificial love?
-
Is there anyone who has been loving us sacrificially, to whom we may want to express thanks?
-
How has God recently been expressing sacrificial love toward us personally? It might be a good time to express your specific and concrete thanks to Him.

Don and I think we might have met in the 1990s at Paulea's house, but we aren't sure. We were all pursuing House Church models and discipleship multiplication. The awesome thing is that we have maintained the same values for 30 years.
I was reintroduced to Don a year and a half ago, when I moved to Richmond, VA. We have spent some hours together sitting on his porch, and some drinking coffee at my house. Every time we get together we laugh and touch deep things in God. I love his spirituality, focus on Jesus and his love for his city!
Don has connections with a number of different segments of the Body of Christ in Richmond and throughout the state and beyond. I am always drawn to folks who connect broadly.

Do you ever find it hard to relax ... and breathe deeply ... down in your soul?
Some people have a difficult time relaxing because their circumstances are strangling them.
Some people have trouble relaxing before God ... they feel nervous and self-conscious when they come to Him.
Some feel anxious with others ... they continually find themselves posing and posturing to be what they think will be pleasing to them.
Some have a hard time relaxing - even with themselves. They find it hard to be themself with themself. (When was the last time you were by yourself without any input for more than 10-20 minutes?)
It could be that you are having difficulty relaxing and breathing because you have not taken hold of a good and functional Gospel. The Good News of God is too good to leave us tightly and anxiously wound up!

I have known Caleb McCoy's family for 40 years. I have known Caleb for 4. The first time I spoke with him, I could sense God's anointing on his life. He carries something of God's presence and favor.

You may feel a bit worn at this time of year. You may be tempted to try to coast for a while and simply hope that you will make it through the end of the year. However, I want to encourage you to come alive at this time ... There is lots of life to be had, and there are people relying on you - whether they know it or not.
The next 6-8 weeks are very important for those in your spheres of influence. They are in a mode of transition from 2021 to 2022. They may be disheartened that some of what they hoped for in 2021 did not actually happen. This may be a time cluttered with a lot of family activities and pressures, or it may highlight the lack of family connectedness for some. For those in school, this is a time of ending the semester - tests and papers. For people in business, it might be weighted by year-end goals or paperwork. For nonprofits, it might include end-of-year fund-raising. This is also a time where many emotional memories surface - some we are conscious of, some we are not, some have been healthily processed and some have not. This is an intense time of year for many people around you.
In this podcast, I share thoughts on how to receive God's Spirit, walk in spaciousness, and serve your spheres of influence in the power of God.
One important way to serve is to "Pray Up" and "Pray Down."
Learning to "Pray Down" can be a game-changer!

FORGIVENESS - it's one of the most important spiritual-emotional-legal transactions in all of life!
It's a spiritual-legal transaction that has spiritual-relational implications.
Jesus made it clear that we need to be forgivers in order to receive the benefits of forgiveness. (Matthew 6:14-15)
He also said that unforgiveness allows spiritual jailers to torment us. (Matthew 18:34-35)
Paul indicated that holding on to unforgiveness (and anger) can give the enemy a foothold (a place of influence) in our lives.
This is serious stuff!
So, this podcast focusses on how we can learn to concretely forgive - and bless others. This will free us from unnecessary spiritual-emotional baggage, and enable us to be of benefit even to those who have harmed us.

We discuss David's experiences growing up in a Pentecostal Church that was full of young people, and the massive impact that Sister Ruby Henderson had on him.
David had a sense early in life of what God wanted, but he was not excited about the idea. So, he ran (like Jonah) in a different direction - and became a successful lawyer. One day, he surrendered the direction of his life to God - and that decision has steered the trajectory of all that he does.
In this podcast, we discuss some of the pains of ministry - and the need for real, tangible forgiveness. Shallow forgiveness will simply not suffice.
We also discuss what Revival means, and how it can affect our present behavior.
Lastly, we touch upon a practice that David is finding most life-giving at this stage of his spiritual journey.

What does it mean to be a good human?
It relates to our identity as image-bearers of God. We were created in the image of God.
Being in God's image points to our ability to connect with and commune with God. We understand and receive our identity from being with God. In that way we need to be Human Beings - humans, being with God.
We exercise our identities in God by exercising/expressing God's will/intent/perspective in our roles and life spheres. We express our unique identities through our unique offerings to the world. What do you have to offer the world? ... that is your unique Human doing.
To be a Good Human is to be a Human Being - with God and a Human Doing - through God's enablement and power.
At this point in your life, might God be encouraging you to grow on the Being or the Doing side? We need both to be Good Humans!

We discuss a burden for people in a post-Christian culture, whose hearts are often hardened to the church as we know it and do not find our common expressions of faith to be inviting.
Jeremy and Monica have given themselves to removing obstacles that are keeping people from tasting the love of God and experiencing intimacy with Him. This involves a measure of intentionality and prayer, but no forcing or force-feeding.
We briefly consider the value and power of Micro-Churches.
We discuss burn-out and how a needed sabbatical saved, restored and changed both Jeremy and Monica. And, we heard of some of their encounters with God - and practices they have found particularly spiritually helpful.
Jeremy and Monica have participated in launching disciple-making movements and networks of house churches in 35+ countries with a special heart for Richmond, VA. They also love rock climbing, chess, Costa Rica (where Monica is from), practicing MMA, hardcore metal, dubstep, and indoor plants. Prayer is of utmost importance in their lives. Jeremy has Masters degrees in both Intercultural Studies and Christian Studies from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.

When we see the needs around us that only God can meet, it can be overwhelming. The needs in our families, friendships, neighborhoods, cities and nations are more than daunting.
It's important for us to remember that the life and power of God cannot be birthed through human effort. It requires the miraculous work of God. Whether we like it or not, we must be reliant on God's movement through us.
All authority has been given to Jesus, and He delegates that authority to us to accomplish God's will. He GIVES US THE RIGHT to pray what He wants, to say what He wants and to do what He wants.
We can and must grow in this Kingdom authority to be effective in extending God's benefits to people. This authority is rooted in our identity in Christ. It is expanded through our intimacy with God. And, it is activated through prayer, communication, and action that aligns with His purposes.
Listen in ... and apply what's shared in this podcast to grow in your spiritual authority in Christ. God will us you and move through you to do miracles - and you grow in your spiritual authority.

Here we discuss the place of Revelation, Reflection, the Word of God and Perseverance. In this conversation, we plum some deep thoughts related to spiritual warfare and the importance of being Attentive to our souls and Tending well to keep them whole and alive. "Our lives are like instruments that must be well cared for in order to last and perform well."
Lastly, we discussed our longings for the manifestation of God's glory on the earth - and the concepts of Revival and Visitation.

Do you feel like you are getting good traction in your life?
Sometimes we are not gaining ground because we are not aligned with our Design, Placement and Purposes from God.
In this podcast, we look at aligning ourselves with God's Gifting. We particularly focus on the Ascension Gifts (or APEST Gifts) expressed in Ephesians 4:11-13.
We look at the purposes of the different gifts.
We look at how each gifting - or manifestation of the Holy Spirit - functions ... what it looks like in real life.
We also consider how we can identify and grow in the expression of these gifts that God has appointed.
Finally, we consider the synergy of the Gifts and Fruit of the Holy Spirit ... how they meld together into a rounded and whole expression of God's Kingdom.
The goal is to continue to grow in your own unique expression of God's gifting and fruit, representing Him will and extending His Kingdom in your spheres of influence.

In this episode, I get to speak with Paulea Mooney-McCoy, a longtime friend and a spiritual leader in Boston. Paulea teaches at Bunker Hill college in Boston, consults a Community Development Corporation and coaches many people, non-profits and churches concerning direction, spiritual practices and discernment. She also is a certified StrengthsFinder coach.
We honed in on some of the spiritual growth influences and influencers in Paulea's life. We also touched how painful moments and stages are often very useful in our growth.
We discussed how the Word (Bible), Holy Spirit Power and Intimacy with God have come together in Paulea's Kingdom experience and have forged her spirituality. The Truth and contemplative practices have made her into the solid spiritual leader that she is.
She also described some of the transitions she is seeing in the world and in the Body of Christ.
Paulea Mooney McCoy:
Paulea has over 20 years of experience developing people and programs through community-based organizations, churches, and in higher education. Her passion is to assist people in their journey to discern and live out their calling. Paulea sees her role as a coach and spiritual mentor to help people discover what really makes them “come alive”.

- Are you aware of the state of your soul?
- Do you know how to attend to your soul?
- Are you trustworthy in how you attend to the soul of others?
These are VERY important questions that are rarely practically discussed. And, unfortunately, even many ministers and pastors have not received training around this topic.
We need to learn how to be still, relax and cease from striving - so we can know God and receive healing for our souls. (Psalm 46:10)
We need to learn to access repentance, rest, quietness and trust so we can be renewed in God and of benefit to others. (Isaiah 30:15)
In this podcast we discuss come tips and practices that can help you become aware of the state of your soul, attend to it well and be trustworthy with the souls of others.

Welcome to the “Greater Formation and Power” Podcast.
Here, we will discuss topics and practices that will help you:
- Deepen your intimacy with God the Father,
- Exercise your authority in Jesus the Son,
- And move in the Power of the Holy Spirit.
**We want to walk in God’s truth, intimacy and power ... we need all three strands working together in our lives because we believe that nothing else will do.
In this Podcast, we want to bring Three Streams of Christian Faith together. We want to integrate all three into our understanding, experience and practice. The Three Streams are:**
- Pentecostal and Charismatic Power in the Holy Spirit
- Biblical Truth and Application
- Contemplative Spiritual Formation
Usually, we come to faith and are discipled in one (or possibly two) of these streams. However, for us to mature as Christ-followers we need to learn how to receive from and move in the power of all three streams. This podcast will be devoted to the synergy that can be achieved through the integration of these streams in our lives.
