On this episode of Something Nice with Dinano, we speak to Isa Conning who started his spiritual journey as a young Christian, raised both Seventh Day-Adventist and Catholic.
His involvement in a Christian gospel group awakened an interest in the different approach in worship from different Christian sects. This interest further prompted him to ask questions on Christianity and the Bible. His search for truth and deep questions on the authenticity of the Bible left him unsatisfied with the religion of Christ.
He later found wisdom and some answers in Islam,only for a few years though.
As he grew in the Muslim religion, he continued to have other questions for his religion which cannot be answered satisfactory. Isa went as far as becoming a deputy Imam, but his yearning for truth was left wanting...this is his story.

Church Reality Check host, Ricky Leamus is Africa's hardest working youtuber. He produces about three youtube videos a day averaging 500 000 views per month.
He says this decision was driven by information he got that youtube sends 3 notifications to each subscriber on one specific video each day. This decision has seen his channel growing exponentially with each video getting a couple of thousand views every other week.
For him, youtube is a full time business and his focus is Christian and Current Affairs commentary. Ricky says, Understanding your niche is key to youtube success.

On this episode of Something Nice with Dinano, Church Reality Check founder Ricky Leamus talks about Freemasons and Secret Society symbolism in Desmond Tutu's funeral. Having gained interest in the workings and origins of Freemason's in 2010, he studied about the secret organisation and found out some interesting things about their New World Order beliefs. On Church Reality Check latest videos He says explores the Freemason's mission, which he says is to cause confusion and gain power, taking from their motto - Order from chaos. Ricky suggests that secret organisations are involved in causing confusion, which in turn causes chaos after which they would "restore" the order.

Artist Activist, Masello Motana talks about what is wrong with our governance systems. She also gives her opinion on the whether democracy is the best governance system for South Africa.
On this interview she also explains the role of art and artists in political activism. Masello is of the firm belief that black people need to stop blaming white people for their hardships and start working towards unity and African governance systems. Her latest work is a street performance where she re-enacts the killing of Mthokozisi Ntumba by police during the recent #FeesMustFall protests in South Africa.
In the play, she explores and questions the power of the state, its role in providing education and the power of the police. Masello is clear about what she wants to achieve with her art but maintains that she can only create work that stimulates our critical thought, but what we do with those thoughts is completely up to us as consumers, as citizens.

Performing Artist and Land Activist, Masello Motana has taken the fight for land in South Africa to new artistic levels. Her dramatic depictions of key historical moments in the dispossession of blacks from their land is profound and artistically captivating.
In this interview with Something Nice with Dinano, Masello vividly paints the cruelty of colonialism in Africa and the history of land dispossession in South Africa, from an Artists perspective. Masello Motana is an actress,singer and street performer in South Africa who is not afraid to challenge the status quo through her art.
One of her recent works, The Three Beheaded Kings focuses on the murder of Kings, Hintsa, Bambatha and Luka Jantjie. She held a demonstration outside a public hearing where South Africa was embarking on land hearings on the proposed changes to Section 25 of the South African constitution.
The proposed changes seek to give government the powers to expropriate land without compensation (EWC). Motana also did a dramatic interpretation of a "court case" where Luka Jantjie was tried for refusing to move from his ancestral land.
In this conversation, Motana also looks at some of the laws that cemented the fate of black people as they were forcefully removed from their spaces.
The conversation on land is important in Africa as the continent continues to deal with the effects of colonialism stemming from the removal of many native African people from their homes.
Recently in Namibia, the German government has committed to pay reparations for the brutal genocide of the Herero and Nama people in the southern African country.
South Africa and Namibia have a lot in common on the issue of land dispossession as the two were previously ruled by the notorious apartheid regime of South Africa.
Joshua Maponga is at a crossroads, after 33 years in christian ministry, he has found himself in a place where he can't find satisfying answers to his questions. His questions stem from a life of dedication to his calling but some things remain a mystery. He says God gave us brains to think therefore questions are a sign of a functioning brain. In this interview, he tries to explain where he stands with the Bible. Maponga feels strongly about Africa and says in his understanding, Africa plays a significant role in the Bible and prophecy, but because of how the gospel was presented by the Europeans, these African related truths are neglected. He is calling on Africa to embrace its humanity and the knowledge available to emancipate itself from the spiritual poverty it is facing. Maponga, who also features on AmaBishop, a Moja Love production, says he is writing a book titled, The Gospel according to Maponga J and will be one African children will be reading and referring to in years to come. His message is deeply rooted in his quest to decolonize christianity.
Part 2 of Something Nice with Dinano with Owen Ndlovu, Business man, hustler and intellectual property rights activist, Ndlovu says he is now in talks with the SABC to sort out the issue of Ingoma eyahlukanisa unyaka (Song of the year).
He is also working on a business system to help artists track the rotation of their songs on radio stations.
The system will help musicians to rightfully claim their royalties through the correct channels to benefit fully from their intellectual property rights.

In this two part interview, Owen Ndlovu says he is not a broadcaster but an entertainer. He says his background has pushed him to become a better person. A street smart hustler, business man and sports entertainer .
Ndlovu was born in Soweto but moved to Newcastle in 1976 during the Soweto Uprising when he was only 4.
He says growing up poor was motivation enough to make success of himself. He attributes Cyril Bongani "Kansas City" Mchunu and Koos Radebe as his early influences for wanting to get into radio a dream he soon realized after coming back to Johannesburg when he obtained his matrix certificate.
His broadcasting journey started at Soweto Commumity Radio to YFM and later UKhozi FM and SABC 1, Soccerzone. In this interview with Something Nice with Dinano, Ndlovu talks about influencing youth culture at YFM and money lessons learnt along the way. He also talks about almost becoming a musician with Dan Tshanda and Dalom Kids after he was influenced by Zulu maskandi group Soul Brothers.

20 year-old Lithemba "TheBigDeal" Dyantyi is someone worth knowing. He is the founder of Cape Town based comedy skit content creators who have built a name for themselves as Xhosanostra Skits.
Originally from eDutywa, in the Eastern Cape, Lithemba Dyantyi moved to Kayamandi, Stellenbosch to join his mother in 2006. He later opened a YouTube channel where he posted skits by himself, but soon realized that his content was not popular.
He says "In the early stages I could only get like 15 views...I was disappointed but never discouraged."
After my lonely efforts I decided to collaborate with my friends on my street, and we would do content that reflects on the lives and stories we experience on a daily basis.
That slow start soon turned to success after he roped in his friends and created classic comedy skits like Ezam Kum, Bad buddies and Bra Dan the Barber.

In part 2, Solomon Izang Ashoms, an investigative journalist who has been exposing the powers behind prophets and bishops in the Christian church tells of how fake prophets and pastors are recruited. He calls out, what he calls charlatans; so-called prophets who are out to make themselves rich through staged prophecies and miracles.
Solomon, who also runs a youtube channel: Solomon’s Temple, says confronting Bushiri on his fake miracle – walking on air left the controversial self-proclaimed prophet giving explanations that did not make sense. With years, investigating and exposing these fake prophets, he has managed to figure out how they work.
For example, Ashoms says Alph Lukau is a master of staging miracles to such an extent that he hires people to memorise scripts and act these made up stories at church as genuine miracles. He says these people also use the pulpit to intimidate people who question their authenticity.

In part one of a two part interview, Solomon Izang Ashoms, an investigative journalist who has been exposing the powers behind prophets and bishops in the christian church tells of the workings of Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and Bishop Stephen Zondo. Solomon's work spans over many years on the topic of powerful church leaders.
He has not had an easy way in doing this research, as he has received a number of death threats from the so-called prophets and their associates. Ashoms has been producing documentaries on church figures like TB Joshua, Shepherd Bushiri, Stephen Zondo and Alph Lukau to name a few. Having done interviews with people involved in these "cult" churches, as he refers to them, he says many of them have spiritual powers, but such powers were not gifted to them by God of the Bible.
He references the Bible to support his claims, together with many interviews from victims who were abused by these "false prophets". In this interview he focuses on two controversial characters, Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and Bishop Steven Zondo. ECG leader, Prophet Bushiri aka Major 1 is being trialed in South Africa for money laundering together with his wife Mary, where they recently escaped to Malawi, violating their bail conditions in the process.
Whilst Bhishop Zondo of Rivers of Living Waters ministries is being investigated by the CRL Commission for questionable practices at his church, claims rising from testimonies include claims of witchcraft at the church.
