We discuss assistive technology, disabilities, and breaking down barriers to accessibility through one-on-one interviews, news, reviews, and more. Neil Squire is a Canadian national not-for-profit organization that empowers Canadians with disabilities through advocacy, computer-based assistive technology, research and development, and various employment programs.
Today is a short, news and app round-up episode. We look at some recent assistive technology news, new apps for learning math, a low-cost text-to-speech alternative, and a whole lot of scholarship opportunities across New Brunswick and Canada.
School is starting once again, and on today’s episode we’re going to explore some brand-new apps, strategies, and technologies that we think would be especially useful to students in particular.

For those of you who aren't aware, Makers Making Change is an online platform that provides low-cost alternatives to commercially available (and often expensive) assistive technology.
The program connects volunteer makers with individuals who require assistive technology, as well as providing an open source library of assistive devices that can be built individually or can be requested to be built through the website.
