I hadn't been playing my guitar regularly for quite some time. However, yesterday, as I was trying to avoid doing household chores, I ended up spending most of my morning playing music on my guitar. My fingers started to get sore again as the calluses I had developed before from consistent playing had disappeared. It's like going back to the beginner phase, which I feel I'm always in. LOL.
Anyway, here it is, @zehn34. My 'Ere' cover. Bahala ka na dian. Hahaha!
This song is by JK (Juan Karlos) and has been trending back home in the Philippines, especially on TikTok. What went viral the most was the bit where he swears and the part where he sang the words Tatlong Bilyon (three billion)... and I think that's really satisfying and honest. JK is a very talented singer. I've been a fan since I saw him perform on The Voice PH way back in 2014 if I am not mistaken. He's been a total performer from the very beginning, I must say!
Have a good one you all. 😊🎸🎶🇵🇭

As the summer holidays of 2023 begin, the road trip began too. I've put a lot of effort into my career over the past few years, so I feel like it's essential to take a break from it to travel, relax, and simply breathe. And yes, as they say, we are on honeymoon considering the fact that my hub and I haven't seen each other in almost four years because of COVID. Technically. Whatever.
LOL
Even though traveling by car is more comfortable and less prone to accidents, I think I would still opt to travel by motorbike on this road trip. Why? Well, riding a motorbike gives me that close-up connection to the destination I was headed for, and every turn and curve in the road makes me feel incredibly alive. Long road motorbiking as well gives me that sense of being in the present and I find it calm and soul rejuvenating. The smell of the trees, the breathtaking, lush view of the mountains, the roar of the rivers, the sounds of the swaying trees, and the noises of the many birds and insects were an absolute joy.
And the Banaue Rice Terraces, Hagdan-Hagdang Palayan ng Banawe as we say in Filipino, was our first stop. The ancestors of the Igorot tribe in Banaue, Ifugao, Philippines, carved these terraces by hand into the mountains 2000 years ago and were used to grow rice up until the present. Banaue is a small town situated in the province of Ifugao in the northern part of the Philippines. It is one of the biggest tourist spots in the country as well and is known as the "Eight Wonder of the World."

“Hokey Pokey, please!”, most of our kids always would request when we do our lunch club at work. Lunch Club is a time wherein some of our special needs children who aren't quite ready to interact with their peers during playtime gather. Some of them find being in a large group overwhelming, and some are still learning how to "behave appropriately," therefore the tasks assigned to them focus on those prerequisite skills. Singing and dancing are two activities that can help kids improve their listening and imitation abilities as we get them ready to interact with their peers in the future.
Apart from it being popular in our lunch club group, Hokey Pokey is a joyful dance, classic song for children. It is a song perfect to help the kids improve their imitation, listening and following instructions skills as well as expanding their vocabulary of directions and body parts. Fitness and coordination’s a goal to think of too! The song has a distinct tune as well, and I like how it makes extensive use of repetition by using the same exact phrases for each verse. The name of the body part is the only item that varies from verse to verse, which is a great aid for teaching kids about body parts. It is an engaging song that really gets everyone involved.
The song's complexity surprised me when I went to look it up, so I'm not sure where it exactly originated. In any case, I'm sharing along this link since I think the information is interesting.

Many nations celebrate their independence from colonial powers. One of those countries that achieved independence from Spain after four centuries of colonial domination is my home sweet home, the Philippines, which we celebrate 12th of June every year. We Filipinos recall and celebrate the nation's arduous struggle for freedom. We support our nation's independence by encouraging nationalism while also honoring our own culture and traditions.
This year, if you ever celebrated one, how did you spend yours?
Unlike the majority of us Filipinos back home who takes the day off, I was working of course. Being an OFW (Overseas Foreign Worker) we don't celebrate it down here. Well, I have always been working on that particular day, since the past ‘I lost count’ years, but I do make an effort to check online news and stuff relating to it. Just a thought though, would it be fantastic if all Filipinos anywhere in the world, were obligated to take the day off as well? Hmmmm. But yeah, that would be too much I supposed, as we do have the day off when we celebrate Brunei’s National Day down here. Well, it was just wishful thinking, because why not right?! Haha
Then, I was reminded of the reggae band Tropical Depression and their song "Kapayapaan" as soon as I saw the @hiveph [contest] (https://peakd.com/hive-188409/@hiveph/hive-ph-contest-we-want-to-hear-your-songs-about-independence). ‘Kapayapaan’ in English means peace. I looked up an easier guitar version on YouTube and was glad to see that there are only three repeating chords. It looked easy and so I thought. Eeeek. The struggle came with the strumming. It took me numerous times to practice until I had enough as my fingers were sore already. I tried to make it sound reggae ‘er but it just won’t do. I don't think I will ever perfect this song, well not that I have one that is. LOL. I've listened to other musicians' covers, and I'm always in awe of how brilliantly they can play their guitars—it's as if they can knock on it and strum at the same time. It's so cool!
Back to the music we go. "Kapayapaan," which made its debut in the 1990s—exactly in 1994, according to Google—was a success back home. It has a catchy, energetic song and an enthusiastic, endearing feel that I adore. The song's lyrics, which call for peace and unity and encouraging listeners to dance together while holding hands and singing "Kapayapaan" (Peace) out loud, were both beautiful. It highlights the fact that despite our differences in our origins, experiences and culture, we share the same world and ought to work for peace. It is everyone's responsibility to work toward bringing about that world peace despite the differences. I particularly like how the song ends, reiterating that the world will eventually get united as one no matter how divided we might be if we join together as one.
THANK YOU for listening & reading!

I recently came across the cover of "Don't Dream It's Over" by Miley Cyrus and Arianna Grande on Tiktok, and I thought I'd give it a shot. I also find it fitting for this week's Hive Open Mic theme of "Never Give Up," and it brought back memories of listening to my uncle, my dad's brother, blasting New Wave Hits way back. I, myself then somehow grew to love the 80s New Wave hits as well.
The song's title, 'Don't Dream It's Over' might mean one of two things: either don't dream that it's over because there may still be hope, or don't dream or stop dreaming since it's over. For me, I think it’s the former as when you look up the rest of the lyrics the song is about not giving up. It basically tells us the value of being with that someone who can allow you the freedom to dream and ultimately support your success.

Lyrics
There is freedom within, there is freedom without
Try to catch a deluge in a paper cup
There's a battle ahead, many battles are lost
But you'll never see the end of the road
While you're traveling with me
[Chorus]
Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over
Hey now, hey now, when the world comes in
They come, they come to build a wall between us
We know they won't win
[Verse 2]
Now I'm towing my car, there's a hole in the roof
My possessions are causing me suspicion, but there's no proof
In the paper today, tales of war and of waste
But you turn right over to the TV page
[Chorus]
Hey now, hey now, don't dream it's over
Hey now, hey now, when the world comes in
They come, they come to build a wall between us
We know they won't win

As I watched the Netflix series "Beef," I grew to love this song by Keane, "Somewhere Only We Know," even more. It was played at the end of Episode 8 during that moment wherein one of the main characters, Danny, was finally able to keep his promise to his parents to bring them back to America. When I looked it up I did not realize it’s a 2004 hit as I thought It was released around 2010 ish. An amazing friend here on Hive, @anna-newkey, had covered this last month here at Hive Open Mic too and she did mention me having a go at it after commenting I love the song. I find mine slow though and I should have done it a bit faster but my fingers are sore already as I had a bit of a struggle with transitioning to the Bm chord. I had to practice numerous times and that’s the best I have. I think. 😅
I chose this song because it reminds me of how much I enjoy being in nature and how I often fantasize about having a private hideaway. An enchanted river and forest where you may simply enjoy life without worrying about anything. Wishful huh?! But yeah, every time I hear this lovely song, that is exactly how I feel.
Lyrics
I walked across an empty land
I knew the pathway like the back of my hand
I felt the earth beneath my feet
Sat by the river and it made me complete
Oh, simple thing, where have you gone?
I'm gettin' old, and I need something to rely on
So, tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm gettin' tired, and I need somewhere to begin
I came across a fallen tree
I felt the branches of it looking at me
Is this the place we used to love?
Is this the place that I've been dreaming of?
Oh, simple thing, where have you gone?
I'm gettin' old, and I need something to rely on
So, tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm gettin' tired, and I need somewhere to begin
And if you have a minute, why don't we go
Talk about it somewhere only we know?
This could be the end of everything
So, why don't we go
Somewhere only we know?
Somewhere only we know
Oh, simple thing, where have you gone?
I'm getting old, and I need something to rely on
So, tell me when you're gonna let me in
I'm getting tired, and I need somewhere to begin
And if you have a minute, why don't we go
Talk about it somewhere only we know?
This could be the end of everything
So, why don't we go?
So, why don't we go?
Ooh, hey, hey
Oh-oh-oh
This could be the end of everything
So, why don't we go somewhere only we know?
Somewhere only we know
Somewhere only we know

Don't Worry, Be Happy by Bobby Mc Ferrin is a classic song that I am sure most of us are very much familiar with. If I'm not mistaken, the song's distinctive whistle and hum seem to be recognized by everyone. Do you not?
It’s straightforward yet very powerful. The song's lyrics bring up relevant ideas like how everyone faces difficulties at some point, eventually urging listeners to maintain an optimistic mindset and be joyful as worrying will only make matters worse.
On the other hand, being worry-free does not imply that one doesn't care about their life or that they will fail. It just means having a cheerful view of life and letting go of unnecessary concerns. It's crucial to shift your attention from what you can't control to what you can create, focus on what matters most, let go of the rest, be happy, and have hope that everything will turn out for the best.

“YOU OKAY?”
Almost every day, especially at work, I come across this question, and my response, of course, depends on who is asking. If it's a close friend/colleague, I either shrug my shoulders, roll my eyes, or don't say anything at all. If they're lucky, I'll offer them my biggest and sweetest smile. Naturally, if it comes from the bosses, the response will always be a cheerful "Yup, all good," even if it's not always the case. LOL.
Yes, there are instances when being okay may be overvalued or ignored, but of course, we get to choose how we want things to go. Although being okay is what we all aspire to, there are times when it's equally fine to not be okay. Life is not always filled with sunshine and butterflies anyway. Finding something to do to work on it, is crucial. Appreciating and giving thanks for the good times more, to be modest, and learning from the bad is a great way too since that's when we grow stronger.
COFFEE
Lyrics & Lyrics Source Here
I first heard this song on Tiktok during the pandemic. It gained popularity on the underground, particularly after Powfu sampled it for his song Death Bed, Coffee for your Head . It is a light acoustic ballad written by and performed by Beabadoobee .
'Coffee' is so simple and catchy, and I adore it. Although I am aware that not everyone like coffee, I do, especially in the morning. Coffee completes my day and helps me feel good even when everything else around isn't.

Brotherhood immediately comes to mind when the word "Fraternity" is brought up. Brings back memories of my school days, when my friends and I always stuck together, watched out for one another, and didn't want to be apart because we wanted to support and be with each other all the time. Back then, friendship was valued highly, and just going down memory lane makes me smile and miss my 'biatches'. LOL
Ok, going back to the theme, Google revealed that it originates from the Latin word "Frater," which means "brother." Contrary to fraternities, we women do have sororities, but I believe that the emphasis on unity and one love is what makes them so valuable.
And so, this week I've made the choice to have a go at the old but gold ‘Stand By Me’ by Ben E. King. It is a very popular song and I think almost everyone knows or at least is familiar with it.
Whilst looking it up I found a website sharing more details about the song. You can look it up here if it does interests you that is.
Wouldn't it be wonderful to have that someone by your side who would support and encourage you no matter what?

‘I’ll be there for You’ by The Rembrandts is an iconic theme song from Friends. Friends and this song are inseparable, thus it's impossible to discuss Friends without bringing it up. At least in my case.
A rather catchy, straightforward song that I've always liked and didn't skip when it plays at the beginning of the show. As a matter of fact, I would turn up the volume for every episode's intro and sing my heart out. Every time. LOL.
"Friends" is a popular TV comedy series that debuted in 1994 and ran for ten seasons. The song I'll be there for You was a perfect fit for the series' theme because it centres on friendship. Like the song claims, the series does show that a friend "will be there" as a shoulder to lean on no matter what struggles one endures. Unquestionably a very positive quality of a good friend. And I bet each of us had or still has that friend in our lives.

LET’S DEFEAT THE DISTANCE
Romantic relationships especially ones in LDRs (Long Distance Relationships) came first to mind when I saw the theme this week. Being in one at the moment I decided not to go through that context as I might well up. Kidding. LOL
Then a request for a cover of Gabrielle’s Rise came from @celticheartbeat.
I remembered how lovely the song was after looking it up. You see, whenever Gabrielle is mentioned, the song "Out of Reach" naturally springs to mind. The chords were in my favour as well, and I've finally found something to present this week. Woooop!
MY TAKE
By overcoming a toxic, unhealthy relationship and making the decision to pass the distance from not being all right to being okay, we may be able to prevent losing ourselves completely in sorrow and bitterness. It's never easy to imagine how we can succeed, but the important thing is to make the decision to rise and succeed while remaining persistent.
ABOUT THE SONG
Aiming to encourage listeners to realize that with perseverance, an excellent outcome is possible, Gabrielle's Rise tells the story of how she got back up after her life fell apart. Looking more closely, it appears that Gabrielle did approach Bob Dylan and request permission to utilize parts of his song, which Bob Dylan happily agreed to for the first time. That explains why the song's strongly similar of Bob Dylan's Knockin' On Heaven's Door, particularly the beginning part. To be honest, If I had not read about it, I wouldn’t have known.

Lyrics
I know that it's over
But I can't believe we're through
They say that time's a healer, yeah
And I'm better without you
It's gonna take time, I know
But I'll get over you
Look at my life
Look at my heart
I have seen them fall apart
Now I'm ready to rise again
Just look at my hopes
Look at my dreams
I'm building bridges from these scenes
Now I'm ready to rise again
Caught up in my thinking, yeah
Like a prisoner in my mind
You pose so many questions
That the truth was hard to find
I better think twice I know
That I'll get over you
Look at my life
Look at my heart
I have seen them fall apart
Now I'm ready to rise again
Just look at my hopes
Look at my dreams
I'm building bridges from these scenes
Now I'm ready to rise again
Much time has passed between us, hmm
Do you still think of me at all?
My world of broken promises
You won't catch me when I fall
Look at my life
Look at my heart
I have seen them fall apart
And now I'm ready to rise again
Just look at my hopes
Look at my dreams
I'm building bridges from these scenes
Now I'm ready to rise again
Yes, I'm gonna rise
Gonna make it alright
I'm gonna be who I wanna be
Yeah baby, yeah, yeah
I'm gonna make it alright
I'm gonna make it alright...

Aha! My voice has finally found its way back, not fully recovered yet, but I am getting there. And since I saw a viral song last night from Tiktok I thought why not give it a go sharing at Hive Open Mic as I find it fitting for this week's theme, ‘Al Dios Que Adoramos’.
The song is not finalized and official yet and is entitled 'Take Me to the River, I will swim" (Not sure if this is the real title too, but it is what people are calling it) A lot of people, including myself await its official debut which is hopefully soon.

If you are in Tiktok, I bet you have seen and heard this.
It is a worship song I believe and I sooooo love the vibes it brings. It was captivating that I actually listen to it many times on my way to sleep last night and said to myself to have a go with it if my voice came back before the week ends, and it did. Luckily the chords were not that hard too. Woooop!

Nostalgia.
‘Closing Time’ by Semisonic brought back memories of my University/College days. Oh yes, I'm definitely a 90's baby. LOL
When I think back to those times, I can't help but laugh, tear a bit, and smile because those were the times when I made friends who I eventually lost as we went on with our lives. Strangely, despite how close you once were, it ends up differently somehow. But yes, I suppose that's how friendships and life work together.
“Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.”
The line in this song that I love the most.
Indeed, one journey ends and a new one begins; the cycle never ends.
What you do and how you do it to get better, of course, depends on who else but yourself. Such a great message.
Song: Closing Time

Lyrics
Closing time, open all the doors
And let you out into the world
Closing time, turn all of the lights on
Over every boy and every girl
Closing time, one last call for alcohol
So, finish your whiskey or beer
Closing time, you don't have to go home
But you can't stay here
I know who I want to take me home
I know who I want to take me home
I know who I want to take me home
Take me home
Closing time, time for you to go out
To the places you will be from
Closing time, this room won't be open
Till your brothers or your sisters come
So, gather up your jackets, move it to the exits
I hope you have found a friend
Closing time, every new beginning
Comes from some other beginning's end, yeah
I know who I want to take me home
I know who I want to take me home
I know who I want to take me home
Take me home
Closing time, time for you to go out
To the places you will be from
I know who I want to take me home
I know who I want to take me home
I know who I want to take me home
Take me home
I know who I want to take me home
I know who I want to take me home
I know who I want to take me home
Take me home
Closing time, every new beginning
Comes from some other beginning's end

Helloooo Hivers, Music lovers most especially to @hiveopenmic community.
I hope you are all doing great!
Calmness and resilience in the face of adversity are personality traits that I proudly inherited from my mom. She would always remind me to try my hardest to live a soulful life and to remember that a day is only meant to be a day and that it won't last forever, so savor it, good or bad, because lessons can be learned.
So I've chosen I'm Yours by Jason Mraz for this week. I love this song as I find it joyful and meaningful. It reminds me to take chances not only in love but in life in general. Also, to live life to the utmost and let go of things over which we have no control.

Lyrics
Well, you done done me in, you bet I felt it
I tried to be chill, but you're so hot that I melted
I fell right through the cracks
Now I'm trying to get back
Before the cool done run out
I'll be giving it my bestest
And nothing's gonna stop me but divine intervention
I reckon it's again my turn
To win some or learn some
But I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait, I'm yours
Hmm (hey, hey)
Well, open up your mind and see like me
Open up your plans and, damn, you're free
Look into your heart and you'll find love, love, love, love
Listen to the music of the moment, people dance and sing
We're just one big family
And it's our God-forsaken right to be loved, loved, loved, loved, loved
So I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait, I'm sure
There's no need to complicate
Our time is short
This is our fate, I'm yours
Do, do, do, do you, but do you, do you, do, do, but do you want to come on
Scooch on over closer, dear?
And I will nibble your ear
A-soo-da-ba-ba-ba-ba-bum
Whoa-oh-oh
Whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh-whoa-whoa-whoa
Uh-huh, mmm-hmm
I've been spending way too long checking my tongue in the mirror
And bending over backwards just to try to see it clearer
But my breath fogged up the glass
And so I drew a new face and I laughed
I guess what I be saying is there ain't no better reason
To rid yourself of vanities and just go with the seasons
It's what we aim to do
Our name is our virtue
But I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait, I'm yours
Well, open up your mind and see like me (I won't hesitate)
Open up your plans and, damn, you're free (no more, no more)
And look into your heart, and you'll find (it cannot wait)
That the sky is yours (I'm sure)
So please don't, please don't, please don't (no need to complicate)
There's no need to complicate (our time is short)
'Cause our time is short (this is)
This, oh this, this is our fate (our fate)
I'm yours

Good day to everyone! How's your weekend going?
Mine's a bit stressful but manageable of course. 😊
'Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now' by Starship is one of those songs that I find challenging. When I sing it, it's either too low or too high. I can't seem to get the right pitch, but of course, being the persistent me, it doesn't stop me from going for it. Eeeeeek. LOL. It's just that I truly adore this song, and it's a personal favourite of mine and my hubby's. When karaoke-ing, it is one of those must sing together. Like our anthem. Haha! On a serious note though, this song was our way of saying thank you to each other for remaining and choosing to be together in love through thick and thin, near or far.
Please feel free to fill in those missed high notes for me, You are most welcome to do so my friends. 😁

Lyrics
Lookin' in your eyes
I see a paradise
This world that I've found is too good to be true
Standin' here beside you
Want so much to give you
This love in my heart that I'm feeling for you
Let 'em say we're crazy
I don't care about that
Put your hand in my hand
Baby, don't ever look back
Let the world around us
Just fall apart
Baby, we can make it
If we're heart to heart
And we can build this dream together
Standing strong forever
Nothing's gonna stop us now
And if this world runs out of lovers
We'll still have each other
Nothing's gonna stop us
Nothing's gonna stop us now
Oh, whoa
I'm so glad I found you
I'm not gonna lose you
Whatever it takes
I will stay here with you
Take you to the good times
See you through the bad times
Whatever it takes
Is what I'm gonna do
Let 'em say we're crazy
What do they know?
Put your arms around me
Baby, don't ever let go
Let the world around us
Just fall apart
Baby, we can make it
If we're heart to heart
And we can build this dream together
Standing strong forever
Nothing's gonna stop us now
And if this world runs out of lovers
We'll still have each other
Nothing's gonna stop us
Nothing's gonna stop us
Ooh, all that I need is you
All that I ever need
All that I want to do
Is hold you forever
Forever and ever...
And we can build this dream together
Standing strong forever
Nothing's gonna stop us now
And if this world runs out of lovers
We'll still have each other
Nothing's gonna stop us
Nothing's gonna stop us
Build this dream together
Standing strong forever
Nothing's gonna stop us now
And if this world runs out of lovers
We'll still have each other
Nothing's gonna stop us
And we can build this dream together
Standing strong forever
Nothing's gonna stop us now (Nothing's gonna stop us)
And if this world runs out of lovers
We'll still have each other
Nothing's gonna stop us
And we can build this dream together
Standing strong forever
Nothing's gonna stop us now

Have you ever pictured yourself with the same person for years, if not decades? Have you dedicated more than half of your life to a single entity that has meant as much to you as your own, if not more? Yup, this song is all about that extent of love. A song of devotion to that special someone whom you chose to love and remain in love with, no matter what, where, how, and why's.
Song: Kahit Maputi Na Ang Buhok Ko
By: Rey Valera
Lyrics Source: https://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/reyvalera/kahitmaputinaangbuhokko.html
Kung tayo ay matanda na
Sana'y di tayo magbago
Kailan man
Nasaan ma'y ito ang pangarap ko
Makuha mo pa kayang
Ako'y hagkan at yakapin, ooh
Hanggang pagtanda natin
Nagtatanong lang sa 'yo
Ako pa kaya'y ibigin mo
Kung maputi na ang buhok ko
Pagdating ng araw
Ang 'yong buhok
Ay puputi na rin
Sabay tayong mangangarap
Ng nakaraan sa 'tin
Ang nakalipas ay ibabalik natin, mmm
Ipapaalala ko sa 'yo
Ang aking pangako
Na ang pag-ibig ko'y laging sa 'yo
Kahit maputi na ang buhok ko
Ang nakalipas ay ibabalik natin, hmmm
Ipapaalala ko sa 'yo
Ang aking pangako
Na ang pag-ibig ko'y laging sa 'yo
Kahit maputi na ang buhok ko

Even Though My Hair Is White Already
If we're old already
Hopefuly we won't change
Whenever, wherever
This is my desire.
Is it still attainable for you
to kiss and hug me (oooh)
until we grow old?
Just asking you.
would you still love me
if my hair becomes white already
When the day comes
your hair
will be whiter too.
We will share our dreams together
of what wev'e gone through.
We will bring back what has passed (oooh)
I will have you remember
my promise
that my love is always with you
even though my hair is white already
We will bring back what has passed (oooh)
I will have you remember
my promise
that my love is always with you
even though my hair is white already
"Kahit Maputi na Ang Buhok Ko" is an OPM ( Original Pilipino Music ) song that was composed by singer-songwriter Rey Valera and made popular by Sharon Cuneta in 1978. It was first charted four decades ago, and it has been covered by a number of notable local singers up to the present day. Moira Dela Torre is one amongst them and I so love her cover. Check it out below.

We're all just islands in the stream, and we get to choose where we want to go. While chaos surrounds us, we have the option of either holding firm and upholding human virtues such as faith, hope, and love or we let go of what makes us human and allowing ourselves to be swept away by the surging flood that carries troubles with it...
"Islands in the Stream" is a beautiful song that was famously covered by country singers Dolly Parton and the late Kenny Rogers. The song was composed by the members of the Bee Gees.

Meghan Trainor and Brett Eldredge ( Yup, that’s him, the one I forgot to mention in my video ) nailed it beautifully. They blended well together, didn’t they? Both a charmer too.

Lyrics
Baby, when I met you there was peace unknown
I set out to get you with a fine tooth comb
I was soft inside
There was something going on
You do something to me that I can't explain
Hold me closer and I feel no pain
Every beat of my heart
We got something going on
Tender love is blind
It requires a dedication
All this love we feel needs no conversation
We ride it together, ah ha
Making love with each other, ah ha
Islands in the stream
That is what we are
No one in between
How can we be wrong?
Sail away with me
To another world
And we rely on each other, ah ha
From one lover to another, ah ha
I can't live without you if the love was gone
Everything is nothing if you got no one
And you did walk in the night
Slowly losing sight of the real thing
But that won't happen to us and we got no doubt
Too deep in love and we got no way out
And the message is clear
This could be the year for the real thing
No more will you cry
Baby, I will hurt you never
We start and end as one
In love forever
We can ride it together, ah ha
Making love with each other, ah ha
Islands in the stream
That is what we are
No one in between
How can we be wrong?
Sail away with me
To another world
And we rely on each other, ah ha
From one lover to another, ah ha

Hi, Hellooooo!
How are things going for you all?
I hope everyone is doing well and that you are feeling your best wherever you are.
'A Grateful Heart,' another excellent theme at @hiveopenmic this week, thanks to amazing @hopestylist. for suggesting it.
Having a grateful heart, in my perspective, is appreciating life in the current moment. It is about appreciating what we already have, recognizing our blessings, and relishing simple joys. This is enough when we are sincerely grateful for what we already have and content with what is.
So, in keeping with this week's topic, I've chosen Dido's 'Thank You'. It's a sweet and simple song about being thankful for your loved ones. Not just to a romantic partner, but also to friends and family. I can relate to this song, so I'm dedicating it to everyone who has helped me be "ME," and the presence of people I love, near and far, has allowed me to go forth and face whatever challenges life has and will throw at me.
“Be Thankful for what you have, you’ll end up having more.
If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.”

Lyrics
My tea's gone cold, I'm wondering why
I got out of bed at all
The morning rain clouds up my window
And I can't see at all
And even if I could, it'd all be gray
But your picture on my wall
It reminds me that it's not so bad
It's not so bad
I drank too much last night, got bills to pay
My head just feels in pain
I missed the bus and there'll be hell today
I'm late for work again
And even if I'm there, they'll all imply
That I might not last the day
And then you call me
And it's not so bad, it's not so bad
And I want to thank you
For giving me the best day of my life
Oh, just to be with you
Is having the best day of my life
Push the door, I'm home at last
And I'm soaking through and through
Then you handed me a towel
And all I see is you
And even if my house falls down now
I wouldn't have a clue
Because you're near me
And I want to thank you
For giving me the best day of my life
Oh, just to be with you
Is having the best day of my life
And I want to thank you
For giving me the best day of my life
Oh, just to be with you
Is having the best day of my life

Greetings, Hive Music Lovers, and especially to the amazing @hiveopenmic community. I hope everything's good with you.
Another wonderful week has come, and this week's weekly theme at Hive Open Mic is 'La Union,' which translates as Union in English. Interesting theme indeed!
In connection with this week’s theme, I have chosen ‘One day’. It is a song by Jewish reggae singer Matisyahu and was first released in 2009. 'One Day' is a masterpiece as it focuses on tenacity, perseverance, and having trust in humanity that one day our world will stop fighting and people would embrace equality, freedom, kindness, and unity. Uncertainties are inevitable, yet this song inspires us to hope for a more loving and peaceful future.
Thank you for selecting this week's theme, @elioe. You are awesome.
"It is an anthem of hope with a big beat, the kind of song that makes you bob your head and open your heart at the same time."
~ Matisyahu

Lyrics
One day, one day, one day
Sometimes I lay under the moon
And thank God I'm breathin'
Then I pray, "Don't take me soon
'Cause I am here for a reason"
Sometimes in my tears I drown
But I never let it get me down
So when negativity surrounds
I know someday, it'll all turn around because
All my life, I've been waitin' for
I've been prayin' for, for the people to say
That we don't wanna fight no more
There'll be no more wars, and our children will play
One day (one day), one day (one day)
One day (oh-oh-oh)
One day (one day), one day (one day)
One day (oh-oh-oh)
It's not about win or lose
'Cause we all lose when they feed on the souls of the innocent
Blood-drenched pavement
Keep on movin' though the waters stay ragin'
In this maze, you can lose your way, your way
It might drive you crazy
But don't let it faze you, no way, no way
Sometimes in my tears I drown (I drown)
But I never let it get me down (get me down)
So when negativity surrounds (surrounds)
I know someday, it'll all turn around because
All my life, I've been waitin' for (waitin' for)
I've been prayin' for (prayin' for), for the people to say
That we don't wanna fight no more (fight no more)
There'll be no more wars (no more wars), and our children will play
One day (one day), one day (one day)
One day (oh, oh, oh, oh-oh-oh, one day)
One day (one day), one day (one day)
One day (oh-oh-oh)
One day, this all will change, treat people the same
Stop with the violence, down with the hate
One day, we'll all be free and proud to be
Under the same sun, singin' songs of freedom like
Wah-yo (one day, one day), wah-yo, oh, oh (oh-oh-oh)
Wah-yo (one day, one day), wah-yo, oh, oh (oh-oh-oh)
All my life, I've been waitin' for
I've been prayin' for, for the people to say
That we don't wanna fight no more
There'll be no more wars, and our children will play
One day (one day), one day (one day)
One day (oh-oh-oh)
One day (one day), one day (one day)

When do I feel the most glorious?
A question that came up once I had a glimpse at @hiveopenmic theme this week which is 'Glory'.
Then thoughts began to flood in...
Sometimes, we may lose sight of a very important sense that we have within each of us as we set our paths into the world. Some people simply chose the wrong emotions to explore for a variety of reasons that anyone can think of, including ignorance. When we allow ourselves to be vulnerable, one feeling always triumphs. And that is undeniably Love.
Love can push a person to go above and beyond the expected in order to win another person's trust and heart, and it is the most powerful means for overcoming the most horrific damage perpetrated by a dreadful someone.
So, yeah, I feel most glorious when I always chose to love and have love in my heart. I believe that if I posses that powerful feeling, I can conquer almost anything.
And that Love wins, ALWAYS.
How about you? When do you feel the most glorious? 😊
And yeah, I chose Glory of Love by Peter Cetera of Chicago because, aside from being a swoon-worthy song, I simply love the idea of a someone who cherishes the love of his/her life and is willing to put his/her everything for the glory of love.

Lyrics
Tonight it's very clear, as we're both lying here
There's so many things, I want to say
I will always love you, I would never leave you alone
Sometimes I just forget, say things I might regret
It breaks my heart to see you crying
I don't wanna lose you, I could never make it alone
I am a man, who will fight for your honor
I'll be the hero you're dreaming of
We'll live forever, knowing together that we
Did it all for the glory of love
You keep me standing tall, you help me through it all
I'm always strong when you're beside me
I have always needed you, I could never make it alone
I am a man who will fight for your honor
I'll be the hero you've been dreaming of
We'll live forever, knowing together that we
Did it all for the glory of love
Just like a knight in shining armor, from a long time ago
Just in time I will save the day, take you to my castle far away
I am a man who will fight for your honor
I'll be the hero that you're dreaming of
We're gonna live forever, knowing together that we
Did it all for the glory of love
We'll live forever, knowing together that we
Did it all for the glory of love
We did it all for love, we did it all for love
We did it all for love, we did it all for love

Hellooooo, Music Hivers. Especially to the amazing Hive Open Mic Community!
Another week, another chance for me to learn a song on my guitar, and for that I'd like to thank @lyon-89, who brilliantly chose 'Melodic Dose' as the theme for this week.
Sara Bareilles' 'Love Song,' released in 2007, reached number four on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent more than 40 weeks on the list. She was nominated for two Grammys for it: song of the year and best female pop performance. It was really great of her to have written such an excellent song!
I also find the song empowering as it portrays independence and progress by showing how someone loves and enjoys her own music and will not alter it for anyone. Apart from the beautiful upbeat tunes and its suitability for a beginning guitarist like me, this is why I chose this song.

Lyrics
Head under water
And they tell me to breathe easy for a while
The breathing gets harder, even I know that
Made room for me
It's too soon to see
If I'm happy in your hands
I'm unusually hard to hold on to
Blank stares at blank pages
No easy way to say this
You mean well, but you make this hard on me
I'm not gonna write you a love song
'Cause you asked for it
'Cause you need one, you see
I'm not gonna write you a love song
'Cause you tell me it's make or break in this
If you're on your way
I'm not gonna write you to stay
If all you have is leaving
I'mma need a better reason
To write you a love song today, today
I learned the hard way
That they all say things you wanna hear
And my heavy heart sinks deep down under you and your twisted words,
Your help just hurts
You are not what I thought you were
Hello to high and dry
Convinced me to please you
Made me think that I need this too
I'm trying to let you hear me as I am
I'm not gonna write you a love song
'Cause you asked for it
'Cause you need one, you see
I'm not gonna write you a love song
'Cause you tell me it's make or break in this
If you're on your way
I'm not gonna write you to stay
If all you have is leaving
I'mma need a better reason
To write you a love song today
Promise me, you'll leave the light on
To help me see with daylight my guide gone
'Cause I believe there's a way you can love me
Because I say
I won't write you a love song
'Cause you asked for it
'Cause you need one, you see
I'm not gonna write you a love song
'Cause you tell me it's make or break in this
Is that why you wanted a love song?
'Cause you asked for it
'Cause you need one, you see
I'm not gonna write you a love song
'Cause you tell me it's make or break in this
If you're on your way
I'm not gonna write you to stay
If your heart is nowhere in it
I don't want it for a minute
Babe, I'll walk the seven seas
When I believe that there's a reason
To write you a love song today, today

This song is both sad and hopeful for me. I do love singing it, and I have to thank @magicfingerz for selecting "Voice of Hope" as this week's theme as it allowed me to practise and enjoy playing it on the guitar.
Somewhere down the road is a beautiful song about two lovers who adore each other but must let go for reason they cannot control, time. It's sad because losing someone you care about is heartbreaking, but it's also hopeful because hope is what keeps you strong and keep going. Hoping to find each other again when the right time comes, that is.

Lyrics
We had the right love
At the wrong time
Guess I always knew inside
I wouldn't have you for a long time
Those dreams of yours
Are shining on distant shores
And if they're calling you away
I have no right to make you stay
But somewhere down the road
Our roads are gonna cross again
It doesn't really matter when
But somewhere down the road
I know that heart of yours
Will come to see
That you belong with me
Sometimes goodbyes are not forever
It doesn't matter if you're gone
I still believe in us together
I understand more than you think I can
You have to go out on your own
So you can find your way back home
And somewhere down the road
Our roads are gonna cross again
It doesn't really matter where
But somewhere down the road
I know that heart of yours
Will come to see
That you belong with me
Letting go is just another way to say
I'll always love you so
We had the right love at the wrong time
Maybe we've only just begun
Maybe the best is yet to come
Cause somewhere down the road
Our roads are gonna cross again
It doesn't really matter where
But somewhere down the road
I know that heart of yours
Will come to see
That you belong with me

Love is MAGICAL. For me at least. One day your happy, the next day your not. One day your being loved, other days your not. And so I say its magical. LOL.
Seriously though, there are so many things around us that we don't comprehend yet nonetheless make us happy. Meeting people that we like, and being in love for example. That magical feeling of love that gives us thrill and indeed makes the world a better place. Without it, I think chaos will be at its best. It's also easy to dismiss magic as a fiction of our imagination mirrored in our emotions. But I'd rather believe that our destiny holds something greater for us than believing the world is pointless and cruel.
"Got to Believe in Magic" by David Pomeranz was the first song that came to mind when I learned that the theme for this week was "Magic." This song soared to prominence in the Philippines in 2014, when it was chosen as the soundtrack and title for a blockbuster romantic comedy film starring well-known local actors and actress at the time. The song simply emphasizes that it is magical when two people fall in love, and that love is born of faith and fate.

Lyrics
Take me to your heart
Show me where to start
Let me play the part of your first love
All the stars are right
Every wish is ours tonight my love
Pity those who wait
Trusting love to fate
Finding out too late
That they've lost it
Never let 'em go
They will never know
The ways of love
Got to believe in magic
Tell me how two people find each other
In a world that's full of strangers
You got to believe in magic
Something's stronger than the moon above
'Cause it's magic when two people fall in love
I may never know
Why I need you so
All I need to know is this feeling
Handle it with care
We were born to share this dream, my love
Got to believe in magic
Tell me how two people find each other
In a world that's full of strangers
You got to believe in magic
Something's stronger than the moon above
'Cause it's magic when two people fall in love
Got to believe in magic
Tell me how two people find each other
In a world that's full of strangers
You got to believe in magic
Something's stronger than the moon above
'Cause it's magic when two people fall in love
Tell me how two people find each other
In a world that's full of strangers
You got to believe in magic
Something's stronger than the moon above
'Cause it's magic when two people fall in love

What a lovely and exciting theme this week!
I immediately thought of Bon Jovi, Guns N' Roses, and Skidrow. LOL.
I did try singing them out but failed, so I went local because I adore Pinoy/Filipino rock bands, particularly alternative/punk/pop/blues rock.
Pinoy music does ROCK too! 🤘😊
After some thought, I chose to go with Yano's Banal Na Aso, Santong Kabayo. Yano is a 1993 Filipino folk/punk music band. Their vocalist, Dong Abay, is so cool, and I like how he sang most of their songs, which are straightforward and meaningful to society. "Banal Na Aso, Santong Kabayo," which translates as "Holy Dog, Saintly Horse," is widely regarded as one of the greatest pieces of Original Pilipino Music (OPM). The song is masterfully written to expose religious hypocrisy, especially among those who have "disguised" themselves as Divine believers. Hypocrites who preach Divine teachings but do not put them into practice. I feel that most Filipinos value this music. Even if others thought it was immoral and evil-inspired, it became legendary and has remained so to this day. In fact, the song has been covered by a variety of artists, each with its own musical style.

Filipino Lyrics
Hihihihi
Kaharap ko sa dyip ang isang ale
Nagrorosaryo mata niya'y nakapikit
Hihihihi

English Lyrics**
On a bus, in front of me was a lady
Praying the rosary with her eyes closed
She asked to be dropped off at the convent
The driver replied "To the rightful unloading area lest I'll be caught."
But the lady started cursing.
Holy dog, saintly horse
I am laughing, Hi hi hi hi
Holy dog, saintly horse
I am laughing, Hi hi hi hi
At you.
A man is preaching on the streets
A beggar boy asked him for alms
"I am sorry," he said, "This is for the temple."
And the child begged, "Just for my food, please,
Can you not give me anything?"
But the preacher moved somewhere else.
Holy dog, saintly horse
I am laughing, Hi hi hi hi
Holy dog, saintly horse
I am laughing, Hi hi hi hi
At you.
Whatever you are doing to your brothers
Is what you are also doing to me.
Whatever you are doing to your brothers
Is what you are also doing to me.
Holy dog, saintly horse
I am laughing, Hi hi hi hi
Holy dog, saintly horse
I am laughing, Hi hi hi hi
At you.

Hello, fellow Hive music lovers, and especially the @hiveopenmic community. It feels great to be back participating again. I've been away for two weeks as I've been swamped with job and studies. It's been a busy few weeks, but because I need a breather, singing and engaging here is a fantastic way to get one.
I missed being here!
The theme for this week is "Fight Oppression." Thank you for selecting such an intriguing theme, @indonesiabersatu. Sure, I thought, but how do we fight back if we are oppressed? How can we protect ourselves? What are our solutions? Oppression sucks, and sadly, it comes in many forms Politically, socially, religiously, and even in relationships. I have been in one, to be honest, but in a minor sense. It did still affect me though. It got me off guard at first but when it happened again, I had to learn to stand up for myself by speaking up and being assertive, even though I wanted to punch that effin' person in the face. LOL. Talking it out with my family and a few close friends was hugely helpful, as did eventually letting go and forgiving but not forgetting the lesson.
And so I chose the song "Let it be" by The Beatles. At the end of the day no matter how worked up I get caused by others I prefer to choose peace and let go. Having revenge or being violent is pointless. LET IT BE!

Lyrics
When I find myself in times of trouble, Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be
And in my hour of darkness she is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be
And when the broken hearted people living in the world agree
There will be an answer, let it be
For though they may be parted, there is still a chance that they will see
There will be an answer, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
There will be an answer, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be
Let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be,
And when the night is cloudy there is still a light that shines on me
Shinin' until tomorrow, let it be
I wake up to the sound of music, Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be
And let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be
And let it be, let it be, let it be, let it be
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be
P.S.
Please bear with me on the last bit of my video as I made a mistake and chose to LET IT BE. As I always say, I'm no expert on guitar. Nevertheless I'll keep playing and singing. LOL. And I need to go back to what I’m supposed to be doing now as my break is over. 😅😁
Thank You @hiveopenmic!

Hey ya Hivers! What have you been up to lately? I hope everything's well with you.
If you happen to be in the Philippines - Oh wait let me rephrase that - If you are a Filipino, no matter where you are, Karaoke is a thing. It's a major deal actually, especially during celebrations. We, Pinoys ( Filipinos ) love and enjoy music and singing regardless of how excellent or horrible our voices are. 😂
Now, this brings me back to memory lane!
Back in the day, when I was in primary school, my dad bought me a karaoke set. It was a box-like device with two cassette players and a built-in speaker. My parents, you know, loved music. I often see them doing Karaoke back then too! Dad had hoped I might become a singer one day. He described my voice as a singing voice since it is large, raspy, and low. He asked me to sing and practice every day but to no avail! Hahahaha! Well, the love of music and singing stayed though. I can even play the acoustic guitar but not an expert as I always say.
OMG, such nostalgia. I can't stop smiling.
Then...
When I returned home three years ago (just before the pandemic), that karaoke box was still operational. Mom listens to music on it, but she usually listens to local radio dramas. Because the bottom was made of wood, it was the first to deteriorate, therefore it was chopped off. It was still working at that point. I'm not sure if it's still continuing to work at this time though. I'll ask mum tomorrow because I'm sure she's asleep now. She'll kill me if I phone her right now to ask. LOL
One last thing!
Yup, that's me singing in the video. That's The Carpenters' "Close to You," and I sang it on purpose because it's my mom's favourite karaoke track. "To all the girls I've loved before" and "My way" were two of Dad's favourites.😅
Thank you @aseanhive most especially to @justinparke for posing this challenge, It made me smile as I recalled the past.
Thank you for reading!

Hi and Hello, fellow Hive Music Lovers most especially to the @hiveopenmic community. I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe wherever they are. Thank you massive to @discouragedones, the community's most recent Spotlight Artist for choosing this week's wonderful and engaging theme, "Woman Life Freedom."
I've chosen the song 'Bitch' to match this week's theme. It was a song by Meredith Brooks, a singer-songwriter and guitarist from the United States. She performed the song in the alternative rock genre and she rose to fame after her song "Bitch" spent weeks on the music charts. She was also nominated twice at the 1998 Grammy Awards for Best Female Rock Vocal Performance and Best Rock Song. The song was certified platinum in Australia.
I loved how the song proved that alternative music wasn't solely for men in the 1990s. Along with questioning gendered society's expectations, the lyrics highlight a woman's multifaceted personality, demonstrating that we, women are entitled to a range of feelings, and it's okay.

Lyrics
I hate the world today
You're so good to me
I know but I can't change
Tried to tell you
But you look at me like maybe
I'm an angel underneath
Innocent and sweet
Yesterday I cried
You must have been relieved
To see the softer side
I can understand how you'd be so confused
I don't envy you
I'm a little bit of everything
All rolled into one
I'm a bitch
I'm a lover
I'm a child
I'm a mother
I'm a sinner
I'm a saint
And I do not feel ashamed
I'm your hell
I'm your dream
I'm nothing in between
You know you wouldn't want it any other way
So take me as I am
This may mean you'll have to be a stronger man
Rest assured that when I start to make you nervous
And I'm going to extremes
Tomorrow I will change
And today won't mean a thing
I'm a bitch
I'm a lover
I'm a child
I'm a mother
I'm a sinner
I'm a saint
And I do not feel ashamed
I'm your hell
I'm your dream
I'm nothing in between
You know you wouldn't want it any other way
Just when you think you've got me figured out
The season's already changin'
I think it's cool you do what you do
And don't try to save me
I'm a bitch
I'm a lover
I'm a child
I'm a mother
I'm a sinner
I'm a saint
And I do not feel ashamed
I'm your hell
I'm your dream
I'm nothing in between
You know you wouldn't want it any other way
I'm a bitch
I'm a tease
I'm a goddess on my knees
When you hurt
When you suffer
I'm your angel undercover
I've been numb
I'm revived
Can't say I'm not alive
You know I wouldn't want it any other way
Thank YOU!

An interestingly beautiful theme this week! Thank you @lasembradora for choosing "Orgullo Patrio" which means "National or Homeland Pride" in English. I actually had a struggle deciding as I had two songs on my mind that fits perfectly this week. Both were kinda' easy to play on the guitar too, but I had to pick just one.
As a result, I chose the song "Pinoy Ako" by Orange and Lemons. It was one of the most successful OPM ( Original Pilipino Music ) songs of the 2000s back home ( Philippines ) and it was associated with one of the most popular primetime TV shows, Pinoy Big Brother. You couldn't turn on the radio or see them on music channels for months after their debut without hearing/performing the song. It was very catchy and played practically everywhere! The song spread throughout the country, eventually making Orange & Lemons famous.
By the way, the term "Pinoy" refers to the people of the Philippines and is a slang term for Filipino. When referring to a female, the term Pinay is used, while Pinoy can also refer to both male and female. In English, ako means "me," hence combining the words "Pinoy Ako" implies "I am a Filipino."
I chose the song "Pinoy Ako" because I like the meaning and how cheerful it is. It is straightforward and emphasises the importance of being genuine through trusting in oneself and accepting one's flaws. It also motivates Filipinos to be unique and proud no matter where they come from, where they go, or what difficulties they may face. It depicts how a Filipino can proudly show the world what it means to be a Pinoy and what a Pinoy can do by keeping true to oneself rather than succumbing to the expectations of others.

Lyrics
Lahat tayo, mayro'ng pagkakaiba
Sa tingin pa lang ay makikita na
Iba't ibang kagustuhan
Ngunit isang patutunguhan
Gabay at pagmamahal ang hanap mo
Magbibigay ng halaga sa iyo
Nais mong ipakilala
Kung sino ka man talaga
Pinoy, ikaw ay Pinoy
Ipakita sa mundo
Kung ano ang kaya mo
Ibang-iba ang Pinoy
Huwag kang matatakot
Ipagmalaki mo
Pinoy ako, Pinoy tayo
'Pakita mo ang tunay at kung sino ka
Mayro'n mang masama at maganda
Wala namang perpekto
Basta magpakatotoo
Oh, oh
Gabay at pagmamahal ang hanap mo
Magbibigay ng halaga sa iyo
Nais mong ipakilala
Kung sino ka man talaga
Pinoy, ikaw ay Pinoy
Ipakita sa mundo
Kung ano ang kaya mo
Ibang-iba ang Pinoy
Huwag kang matatakot
Ipagmalaki mo
Pinoy ako, Pinoy tayo
Talagang ganyan ang buhay
Dapat ka nang masanay
Wala ring mangyayari
Kung laging nakikibagay
Ipakilala ang 'yong sarili
Ano man sa 'yo'y mangyayari
Ang lagi mong iisipin
Kayang-kayang gawin
Pinoy, ikaw ay Pinoy
Ipakita sa mundo
Kung ano ang kaya mo
Ibang-iba ang Pinoy
Huwag kang matatakot
Ipagmalaki mo
Pinoy ako, Pinoy tayo

Hello, Hello Fellow Music Hive lovers, What have you been up to?
This week, I'd want to share the fruit of the hard work I've been putting in to enhance my guitar skills over the last several days. To be honest, playing my guitar and singing my soul out has been one of my escape anytime I am stressed or have had enough of dealing with life. 😅
I've been meaning to learn to play my guitar fingerstyle, but I've found it quite difficult. Since then, I've been trapped strumming until I decided to choose songs that are easy to play with a little plucking to start with. Colbie Caillat's Bubbly came in handy as it has simple chords and requires little plucking. It's also a beautiful, sweet, and refreshing melody that flows softly and fluidly while showing wonderful tones of pure love. Indeed, a fantastic song for a beginner in guitar finger styling like myself. Yay!

Lyrics
Will you count me in?
I've been awake for a while now
You've got me feeling like a child now
'Cause every time I see your bubbly face
I get the tingles in a silly place
It starts in my toes and I crinkle my nose
Wherever it goes, I always know
That you make me smile, please stay for a while now
Just take your time, wherever you go
The rain is falling on my window pane
But we are hiding in a safer place
Under covers, staying dry and warm
You give me feelings that I adore
They start in my toes, make me crinkle my nose
Wherever it goes, I always know
That you make me smile, please stay for a while now
Just take your time, wherever you go
But what am I gonna say
When you make me feel this way?
I just... Mmm
And it starts in my toes, makes me crinkle my nose
Wherever it goes, I always know
That you make me smile, please stay for a while now
Just take your time, wherever you go
I've been asleep for a while now
You tuck me in, just like a child now
'Cause every time you hold me in your arms
I'm comfortable enough to feel your warmth
It starts in my soul and I lose all control
When you kiss my nose, the feeling shows
'Cause you make me smile, baby, just take your time now
Holding me tight
Wherever, wherever, wherever you go
Wherever, wherever, wherever you go
Wherever you go, I always know
'Cause you make me smile, even just for a while

In support of this week's theme of "Trust," chosen by @ruthlopez, I've chosen the song Honesty, written and sung by American singer, pianist, and composer Billy Joel. This song was introduced to me by my father, who enjoys singing it during karaoke. The song's main concept appears to be straightforward. It is a song about how tough it is to find genuine relationships, where honesty is more difficult to find than love.
I believe that the foundation of trust in a relationship is honesty, and trust is required for a relationship to grow and prosper. Being consistently honest with someone builds trust in you, your words, and most importantly, the relationship you share.
By the way, I find this song devastating and sad, and I would never want to relate to it. I mean, who would? But if in case you are at the moment, then I am dedicating this song to you and Hope all will be well soonest. ✌️😅
Song: Honesty

Lyrics Soiurce: here
Lyrics
If you search for tenderness
It isn't hard to find
You can have the love you need to live
But if you look for truthfulness
You might just as well be blind
It always seems to be so hard to give
Honesty is such a lonely word
Everyone is so untrue
Honesty is hardly ever heard
And mostly what I need from you
I can always find someone
To say they sympathize
If I wear my heart out on my sleeve
But I don't want some pretty face
To tell me pretty lies
All I want is someone to believe
Honesty is such a lonely word
Everyone is so untrue
Honesty is hardly ever heard
And mostly what I need from you
I can find a lover
I can find a friend
I can have security until the bitter end
Anyone can comfort me
With promises again
I know, I know
When I'm deep inside of me
Don't be too concerned
I won't ask for nothin' while I'm gone
But when I want sincerity
Tell me where else can I turn
'Cause you're the one I depend upon
Honesty is such a lonely word
Everyone is so untrue
Honesty is hardly ever heard
And mostly what I need from you

This week's theme is magnificent, @yosoyla72, Thank you!
" Desamor" translates to heartbreak in English, and heartbreak is a very deep, strong emotional experience that I think most of us have had. It can be caused by a variety of reasons and the most common is the ending of a love affair or strong connection.
In light of this, I chose Magnus Haven's song 'Imahe,' which translates to "Image" in English. It is a Filipino song, an OPM ( Original Pilipino Music ),
and a hit in the Philippines which helped Magnus Haven become popular in 2018. This song is relatable and heart-wrenching and it serves as an anthem for those who have had their hearts broken by relationships that were never intended to last.

Lyrics
Kinukulayan ang isipan
Pabalik sa nakaraan
'Wag mo ng balikan
Patuloy ka lang masasaktan
Hindi nagkulang kakaisip
Sa isang magandang larawan
Paulit-ulit na binabanggit
Ang pangalang nakasanayan
Tayo ay pinagtagpo
Ngunit hindi tinadhana
Sadyang mapaglaro itong mundo
Kinalimutan kahit nahihirapan
Para sa sariling kapakanan
Kinalimutan kahit nahihirapan
Mga oras na hindi na mababalikan
Pinagtagpo
Sadyang mapaglaro itong mundo
Kinalimutan kahit nahihirapan
Para sa sariling kapakanan
Kinalimutan kahit nahihirapan
Mga oras na hindi na mababalikan
Pinagtagpo
Ngunit hindi tinadhana
Puso natin ay hindi
Sa isa't-isa
Kinalimutan kahit nahihirapan
Para sa sariling kapakanan
Kinalimutan kahit nahihirapan
Pagibig na ating sinayang
Pinagtagpo
Ngunit hindi tinadhana
Hanggang dito na lang tayo
Kinalimutan kahit nahihirapan (oh)
Para sa sariling kapakanan (oh)
Kinalimutan kahit nahihirapan (oh)
Mga oras na hindi na mababalikan
Pinagtagpo
Ngunit hindi tinadhana
Puso natin ay hindi
Sa isa't-isa
English Lyrics Translation Source: here
Giving colors to one's thoughts back to one's past
Don't ever go back you'll just continue to get hurt
Did not fail on thinking too much on a beautiful picture
Over and over you speak of it the name you got used to
We were destined to meet but not meant to be
This world is really mischievous
Decided to forget you even though it's difficult
For our own sake
Decided to forget you even though it's hard
Our time that will never be restored
Destined to meet but not meant to be
Our hearts are not for each other
We can never bring back the way we used to be
Your sweet lips cannot be felt again
Our promise to each other will never be resurrected
Goodbye to our love that was once unified
We were destined to meet but not meant to be
This world is really mischievous
Decided to forget you even though it's hard
For our own sake
Decided to forget you even though it's hard
Our time that will never be restored
Destined to meet but not meant to be
Our hearts are not for each other
Decided to forget you even though it's hard
For our own sake
Decided to forget you even though it's hard
Love that we have wasted
Destined to meet but not meant to be
This is as far as we can go
(Decided to forget you even though it's hard)
(For our own sake)
(Decided to forget you even though it's hard)
(Our time that will never be restored)
Destined to meet but not meant to be
Our hearts are not for each other

Hello there, Hive Music lovers! What's up?
Tevazu, which means Humility-Modesty in English, is this week's fantastic theme. Humility is completely contradictory to arrogance and pride. I believe that humility leads to gratitude. Being humble enables us to be grateful for everything in our lives. Humility roots nourish and nurture gratitude.
To highlight this theme's week of humility, I've chosen the song "Thank U" by Alanis Morisette, one of my favourite musicians. In my perspective, the song's message is to be grateful for the entirety of our lives, big and small, good and bad, because they all contribute to who we are at the end of the day.
A powerful song indeed.

Lyrics
How 'bout getting off of these antibiotics?
How 'bout stopping eating when I'm full up?
How 'bout them transparent dangling carrots?
How 'bout that ever elusive kudo?
Thank you India
Thank you terror
Thank you disillusionment
Thank you frailty
Thank you consequence
Thank you thank you silence
How 'bout me not blaming you for everything?
How 'bout me enjoying the moment for once?
How 'bout how good it feels to finally forgive you?
How 'bout grieving it all one at a time?
Thank you India
Thank you terror
Thank you disillusionment
Thank you frailty
Thank you consequence
Thank you thank you silence
The moment I let go of it was the moment
I got more than I could handle
The moment I jumped off of it
Was the moment I touched down
How 'bout no longer being masochistic?
How 'bout remembering your divinity?
How 'bout unabashedly bawling your eyes out?
How 'bout not equating death with stopping?
Thank you India
Thank you providence
Thank you disillusionment
Thank you nothingness
Thank you clarity
Thank you, thank you silence
Yeah, yeah
Oh, oh, oh
Oh, oh, oh

This week, I chose Daniel Powter's song "Bad Day," which I think is fitting for this week's theme of "Trusting the Process." The official music video for this song was a lovely story of two people going about their daily lives and being reprimanded by their boss despite their efforts. One day, both carried their creativity onto an advertisement wall in a subway by responding to each other by drawing. I think most of us know and have watched its music video so yeah I won't go into further details. If you haven't then this is a sign that you should.
Well If you want to, that is. The video and the song brings smile to my face especially after a terrible day.
In addition, this song somehow reminds me too that even if you have a terrible day every now and then, things will get better. Cliche as it may be but my faith in myself and my complete trust In God and His plans is what always gets me through allowing me to breathe, relax, and Trust the Process.

Lyrics
Where is the moment we needed the most?
You kick up the leaves, and the magic is lost
They tell me your blue sky's faded to gray
They tell me your passion's gone away
And I don't need no carrying on
You stand in the line just to hit a new low
You're faking a smile with the coffee to go
You tell me your life's been way off line
You're falling to pieces every time
And I don't need no carrying on
'Cause you had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me, "don't lie"
You work at a smile, and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don't lie
You're coming back down, and you really don't mind
You had a bad day
You had a bad day
Well you need a blue sky holiday
The point is they laugh at what you say
And I don't need no carrying on
You had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me, "don't lie"
You work at a smile, and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
The camera don't lie
You're coming back down and you really don't mind
You had a bad day
Sometimes the system goes on the blink
And the whole thing, it turns out wrong
You might not make it back and you know
That you could be well, oh, that strong
And I'm not wrong (yeah, yeah, yeah)
So where is the passion when you need it the most?
Oh, you and I
You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost
'Cause you had a bad day
You're taking one down
You sing a sad song just to turn it around
You say you don't know
You tell me don't lie
You work at a smile and you go for a ride
You had a bad day
You see what you like
And how does it feel one more time?
You had a bad day
You had a bad day
Had a bad day
Had a bad day
Had a bad day

Greetings, Hive Music Lovers, and I hope everything is great with you.
The lovely @bernice001, our most recent Spotlight Artist, has chosen the beautiful theme "Nothing is Impossible" for the 125th week of Hive Open Mic. In light of this, I was reminded of Miley Cyrus's song "The Climb." I chose this song because it simply describes about wanting to achieve our dreams and goals in life by first and foremost believing in oneself. Believing in yourself refers to having faith in your own abilities. It includes believing that YOU CAN DO SOMETHING – that YOU ARE CAPABLE OF DOING SOMETHING no matter what obstacles come your way. Nothing is impossible if you believe in yourself, and hold onto that faith, which will undoubtedly lead to you overcoming self-doubt and acting fearlessly to achieve your goals.

Lyrics
I can almost see it
That dream I'm dreaming
But there's a voice inside my head saying
You'll never reach it
Every step I'm taking
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking
But I, I gotta keep trying
Gotta keep my head held high
There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb
The struggles I'm facing
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes might knock me down, but
No, I'm not breaking
I may not know it
But these are the moments, that
I'm gonna remember most, yeah
Just gotta keep going
And I, I gotta be strong
Just keep pushing on, 'cause
There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb
Yeah
There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes you're gonna have to lose
Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb
Yeah, yeah
Keep on moving, keep climbing
Keep the faith, baby
It's all about, it's all about the climb

"Moonshine." What a lovely theme this week, chosen by our most recent Spotlight Artist, @anna-newkey. I must admit that I struggled to find fitting music for this week at first, but then remembered one from the late 2000s that I used to love, 'Moonlight Over Paris,' by Paolo Santos, a well-known acoustic singer from the Philippines. I assumed that was his original song initially, but it wasn't. Peter Mayer, a British-born American guitarist, vocalist, composer, touring musician, and recording artist, did. He composed and initially sang this song. Vanessa Williams also covered this song. Three of them, in my opinion, have their own personal touch and sang it wonderfully.
I chose this song Moonlight Over Paris because it reminded me of our life goals and how we want to accomplish them. The moonlight represented the people who had graciously and brilliantly illuminated their paths to help us achieve our goals. Moonlight exists even when there is darkness, just as people in our lives, particularly our dearest friends and families who remain to shine our way to success.

Lyrics
You say you've been overseas
I say over where
You say just a holiday
My Alsatian heir
I say I've been working late, working overtime
Haven't seen the sun since sixty-nine
Does the moonlight shine on Paris
After the sun goes down
If the London Bridge is falling
Will anybody hear a sound
If you follow the sunset will it ever end
Does the moonlight shine on Paris
Oh and how can you just walk away
Was it something that I said
I see only black and white
You see green and red
You believe in the miracles
Water into wine
I believe it when it makes the New York Times
Does the moonlight shine on Paris
After the sun goes down
If the London Bridge is falling
Will anybody hear a sound
If you follow the sunset will it ever end
Does the moonlight shine on Paris

Hey there @hiveopenmic and Hive music lovers! I hope everyone’s well and has had a wonderful day.
I immediately thought of John Lennon's song "Imagine" when I saw this week's topic, 'A better world for all,' chosen by the most recent Spotlight Artist @daniky. I've previously played this song on my guitar, but with very simple chords and strumming of course. As I always say, I am not a guitar expert or a singer in the traditional sense, but that does not stop me from doing so as I adore music so much.😊
"Imagine," the song's title, invites us, listeners to think imaginatively. John Lennon creates a broad but clear picture of what he wants us to see with this song. It was also set in an imaginary world where many of the restrictions that determine social reality don't really exist. For example, in the second verse of the song, John Lennon sees a society where people are not separated based on their religious beliefs. Furthermore, material riches are almost non-existent.
My favourite part of the song, and the one with the most important message for me was its call for humanity, to put aside all differences and come united. I strongly believe that if there is unity, there will be absolute peace. And where there is peace, there is unquestionably Love. And when there is Love, the world becomes a better world for all of us.

Lyrics
Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us, only sky
Imagine all the people
Livin' for today
Ah
Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion, too
Imagine all the people
Livin' life in peace
You
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world
You
You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
Thank you so much, and I hope you liked my cover.

Hola Hive Music Lovers!
Another week, another theme, and this week’s beautiful theme is ‘Emotions’ chosen by our spotlight artist @sunsethunter. An emotion is a feeling that might be caused by your environment or the people you're with, such as love, happiness, fear, anger, or hatred. It is our warning system that alerts us about what is going on around us and in our lives. Emotions keep us on track by ensuring that our decisions are influenced by more than just 'knowing.'
This week, I chose Alanis Morisette's Hand In My Pocket as I find it fitting for this week's theme. The lyrics emphasize that we, humans, are never just a thing; rather, we are made up of all emotions and behaviours at all stages of our life. She compares this with the idea of our hands, one hand being in the pocket that is inactive and disengaged while the other hand is active and engaged with the world.
Other than 'Ironic,' Hand in My Pocket is one of her best songs, at least from my perspective. The lyrics are brilliantly worded in contrast. I find it optimistic as well because it reminds us near the end of the song that despite life's uncertainties and whatever emotions are locked up inside of us, especially the not good ones, we must always try to look on the bright side. That there is always, always a good side to every circumstance. Then things won't seem that horrible after all.

Lyrics
I'm broke, but I'm happy
I'm poor, but I'm kind
I'm short, but I'm healthy, yeah
I'm high, but I'm grounded
I'm sane, but I'm overwhelmed
I'm lost, but I'm hopeful, baby
And what it all comes down to
Is that everything's gonna be fine, fine, fine
'Cause I've got one hand in my pocket
And the other one is giving a high five
I feel drunk, but I'm sober
I'm young and I'm underpaid
I'm tired, but I'm working, yeah
I care, but I'm restless
I'm here, but I'm really gone
I'm wrong and I'm sorry, baby
And what it all comes down to
Is that everything's gonna be quite alright
'Cause I've got one hand in my pocket
And the other one is flicking a cigarette
And what it all comes down to
Is that I haven't got it all figured out just yet
'Cause I've got one hand in my pocket
And the other one is giving a peace sign
I'm free, but I'm focused
I'm green, but I'm wise
I'm hard, but I'm friendly, baby
I'm sad, but I'm laughing
I'm brave, but I'm chicken shit
I'm sick, but I'm pretty, baby
And what it all boils down to
Is that no one's really got it figured out just yet
Well, I've got one hand in my pocket
And the other one is playing a piano
And what it all comes down to my friends, yeah
Is that everything is just fine, fine, fine
'Cause I've got one hand in my pocket
And the other one is hailing a taxi cab
I hope you liked my cover fellow hive music lovers.

Hey, Hive Music lovers!
This week's theme at @hiveopenmic is "Amor de Familia," which translates as "Family Love" in English. It was picked by our most recent Spotlight Artist, @osmely, and it is a very beautiful theme.
Because it signifies something different to everyone, the term "family" is one of the most vaguely defined words. A family to me is anyone on whom I can rely for support, to laugh and play with, and to share life's struggles and triumphs with. I consider family to be those who genuinely care about you and want to see you succeed. People who have open hearts and are eager to embrace you for who you are. Even when things go wrong and a crisis arises, you can always rely on your family. Family helps you rediscover your principles and make sound judgments. Furthermore, Family isn't always about being biologically related, because we recognize that other factors and circumstances connect us. Family is unwavering, safe, and dependable. Most importantly, Family isn't only important; for me, it's everything.
This week, I've chosen Monica's song "For you, I will." It is a song that was released as part of the soundtrack to the 1996 film "Space Jam" on February 25, 1997. When I gave birth to my son 22 years ago, I was completely in love with him, and this song touches me differently every time. The words are simple and straightforward, and I have dedicated every word to him since then and even today, as he has grown into a great and gorgeous young man.

Lyrics
When you're feeling lost in the night
When you feel your world just ain't right
Call on me, I will be waiting
Count on me, I will be there
Anytime the times get too tough
Anytime your best ain't enough
I'll be the one to make it better
I'll be there to protect you, see you through
I'll be there, and there is nothing, I won't do
I will cross the ocean for you
I will go and bring you the moon
I will be your hero, your strength, anything you need
I will be the sun in your sky
I will light your way for all time, promise you
For you I will, yes yeah, yeah
I will shield your heart from the rain
I won't let no harm come your way
Oh, these arms will be your shelter
No, these arms won't let you down
If there is a mountain to move
I will move that mountain for you
I'm here for you, I'm here forever
I will be your fortress tall and strong
I'll keep you safe, I'll stand beside you right or wrong
I will cross the ocean for you
I will go and bring you the moon
I will be your hero, your strength, anything you need
I will be the sun in your sky
I will light your way for all time, promise you
For you I will, yes yeah, yeah
For you I will lay my life on the line, for you I will fight, oh
For you I will die, with every breath, with all my soul
I'll give my word, I'll give it all
Put your faith in me, put your faith in me
And I'll do anything oh
I will cross the ocean for you
I will go and bring you the moon
I will be your hero, your strength, anything you need
I will be the sun in your sky
I will light your way for all time, promise you
For you I will, yes yeah, yeah
I will, I will, I will
I will cross the ocean for you
I will go and bring you the moon
I will be your hero, your strength, anything you need
I will be the sun in your sky
I will light your way for all time, promise you
For you I will, yes yeah, yeah
Promise you, for you I will
I promise you, for you I will
Apologies for not hitting the high notes as I just can't.
But that won't stop me from singing it. 😆😅

Hello there, Hive Music lovers! I hope everyone is doing well wherever you are.
When I looked up this week's theme which is "My Happiness" chosen by our most recent artist @jorge234nv, I had a bit of a struggle choosing what to cover as I do have quite a happy music choices to choose from. Then I finally decided to choose Meghan Trainor's Better When I'm Dancin' because it perfectly describes the happiness I feel when I dance. It's a fantastic song to sing at karaoke too.It really sends out positive vibes!

Lyrics
… Don't think about it
Just move your body
Listen to the music
Sing, oh, ey, oh
Just move those left feet
Go ahead get crazy
Anyone can do it
Sing, oh, ey, oh
… Show the world you've got that fire
Feel the rhythm getting louder
Show the world what you can do
Prove to them you've got the moves
I don't know about you
… But I feel better when I'm dancing, yeah, yeah
Better when I'm dancing, yeah, yeah
Oh, we can do this together
I bet you feel better when you're dancing? Yeah, yeah
… Pa-pa-pa-da-da
La-la-la-la-da-da
La-la-la-la-da-da
Pa-pa-da-da
… When you finally let go
And you slay that solo
'Cause you listen to the music
Sing, oh, ey, oh
'Cause you're confident, babe
And you make your hips sway
We knew that you could do it
Sing, oh, ey, oh
… Show the world you've got that fire
Feel the rhythm getting louder
Show the world you can do
Prove to them you've got the moves
I don't know about you
… But I feel better when I'm dancing, yeah, yeah
Better when I'm dancing, yeah, yeah
Oh, we can do this together
I bet you feel better when you're dancing? Yeah, yeah
… Pa-pa-pa-da-da
La-la-la-la-da-da
La-la-la-la-da-da
Pa-pa-da-da
… Pa-pa-pa-da-da
La-la-la-la-da-da
La-la-la-la-da-da

… Ey
Oh, ey, oh
Oh, ey, oh
I feel better when I'm dancing (Oh, ey, oh)
I'm better when I'm dancing (Oh, ey, oh)

Hello Hive Music Lovers!
This week, I've chosen Taylor Swift's "The Man." The song addresses sexism and double standards, and it connects to this week's theme of "Prejudice," chosen by our most recent Spotlight Artist, @lisbeth26. Have you seen her song's music video? With this video, Taylor Swift has nailed it. As the video captured it all, males, not all but many, behave outrageously and are rewarded in a number of ways, while women are embarrassed, ignored, or underpaid for behaviour even slightly similar. For me, it's one of the best videos she's ever made because of what she's criticising. It's a creative and cheery tune that's also entertaining to watch.
Song Title: The man
By: Taylor Swift

Lyrics
I would be complex
I would be cool
They'd say I played the field before I found someone to commit to
And that would be ok
For me to do
Every conquest I had made would make me more of a boss to you
I'd be a fearless leader
I'd be an alpha type
When everyone believes ya
What's that like?
I'm so sick of running as fast as I can
Wondering if I'd get there quicker
If I was a man
And I'm so sick of them coming at me again
'Cause if I was a man
Then I'd be the man
I'd be the man
I'd be the man
They'd say I hustled
Put in the work
They wouldn't shake their heads and question how much of this I deserve
What I was wearing
If I was rude
Could all be separated from my good ideas and power moves?
And they would toast to me, oh
Let the players play
I'd be just like Leo
In Saint-Tropez
I'm so sick of running as fast as I can
Wondering if I'd get there quicker
If I was a man
And I'm so sick of them coming at me again
'Cause if I was a man
Then I'd be the man
I'd be the man
I'd be the man
What's it like to brag about
Raking in dollars
And getting bitches and models
And it's all good if you're bad
And it's okay if you're mad
If I was out flashing my dollars
I'd be a bitch, not a baller
They paint me out to be bad
So it's okay that I'm mad
I'm so sick of running as fast as I can
Wondering if I'd get there quicker if I was a man (you know that)
And I'm so sick of them coming at me again (coming at me again)
'Cause if I was a man (if I was a man)
Then I'd be the man (then I'd be the man)
I'm so sick of running as fast as I can (as fast as I can)
Wondering if I'd get there quicker if I was a man (hey)
And I'm so sick of them coming at me again (coming at me again)
'Cause if I was a man (if I was a man), then I'd be the man
I'd be the man
I'd be the man (oh)
I'd be the man (yeah)
I'd be the man (I'd be the man)
If I was a man
Then I'd be the man
Thank you @hiveopenmic.

This week's theme, "Love Hurts," was selected by our recent Spotlight Artist, @khaleesii, and I've chosen Gabrielle's song Out of Reach to go with it.
I first heard this song in the movie Bridget Jones' Diary. I fell in love with it right away. This is an amazing song, and I believe that a lot of people can relate to it at some point in their lives. It's a simple and straightforward song about giving so much love for someone till you wake up one day and discovered you were never truly loved at all. Looking back, that love was clearly not there and was always out of reach, but you failed to recognise the reality because you were blinded by your love for that person. Isn't it heartbreaking? Love does indeed hurt. I like the last part of the song though, because it speaks about moving on and believing in life after love and heartbreak.
Song Title: Out of Reach
By: Gabrielle
Lyrics Source: here
Lyrics
Knew the signs
Wasn't right
I was stupid for a while
Swept away by you
And now I feel like a fool
So confused
My heart's bruised
Was I ever loved by you?
Out of reach, so far
I never had your heart
Out of reach
Couldn't see
We were never
Meant to be
Catch myself
From despair
I could drown
If I stay here
Keeping busy everyday
I know I will be okay
But I was
So confused
My heart's bruised
Was I ever loved by you?
Out of reach, so far
I never had your heart
Out of reach
Couldn't see
We were never
Meant to be
So much hurt
So much pain
Takes a while
To regain
What is lost inside
And I hope that in time
You'll be out of my mind
And I'll be over you
But now I'm
So confused
My heart's bruised
Was I ever loved by you?
Out of reach
So far
I never had your heart
Out of reach
Couldn't see
We were never
Meant to be
Out of reach
So far
You never gave your heart
In my reach, I can see
There's a life out there
For me
Thank you @hiveopenmic and see you next week with the new theme.

Another music week is here, and as always, I don't want to miss out on contributing to the fantastic @hiveopenmic community. This community is amazing because everyone is soooo kind, friendly and supportive, and I truly felt at home.
For this week I have chosen to cover 'Count on Me' by Bruno Mars. I love this song as it is a happy song that shows the meaning of true friendship.
It is about being a friend and having a friend that one can count on in anything. Through good times and bad times. I think all of us here have friends, true friends that we can count on, near or far. I have a few, not a lot like I used to when I was younger, LOL, but those few ones I really treasure. For me, I don't think the world will work without friends.
Song Title: Count on Me
By: Bruno Mars

Lyrics
Oh-oh
If you ever find yourself stuck in the middle of the sea
I'll sail the world to find you
If you ever find yourself lost in the dark and you can't see
I'll be the light to guide you
We'll find out what we're made of
When we are called to help our friends in need
You can count on me like one, two, three
I'll be there
And I know when I need it, I can count on you like four, three, two
And you'll be there
'Cause that's what friends are supposed to do, oh, yeah
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh, yeah, yeah
If you tossin' and you're turnin' and you just can't fall asleep
I'll sing a song beside you
And if you ever forget how much you really mean to me
Every day I will remind you, oh
We'll find out what we're made of
When we are called to help our friends in need
You can count on me like one, two, three
I'll be there
And I know when I need it, I can count on you like four, three, two
And you'll be there
'Cause that's what friends are supposed to do, oh, yeah
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh, yeah, yeah
You'll always have my shoulder when you cry
I'll never let go, never say goodbye
You know
You can count on me like one, two, three
I'll be there
And I know when I need it I can count on you like four, three, two
And you'll be there
'Cause that's what friends are supposed to do, oh, yeah
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh, ooh
You can count on me 'cause I can count on you

My voice is back! YAY!
Please pardon me, as it is still recuperating and I was unable to properly hit some notes. The theme for this week is "Trumpet Sounds," picked by our Spotlight Artist @ovey10. I did struggle to find something that fits this week but then was able to find music that I love and is accompanied by the trumpet. Wohooooooo!
And so I've chosen the Aerosmith song "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing."
This song made me admire Aerosmith more especially when it became a soundtrack of the movie Armageddon. Have you seen it Hivers? I think most of us do, it was quite a famous movie at that time ,which was around 1998.
Apart from being a cool soundtrack from that movie, this song is also memorable, as me and my husband always sing this when we go karaoke and it eventually became our theme song. The trumpet accompanying on this one is really fantastic too.😊

I could stay awake just to hear you breathing
Watch you smile while you are sleeping
While you're far away and dreaming
I could spend my life in this sweet surrender
I could stay lost in this moment forever
Every moment spent with you is a moment I treasure
Don't want to close my eyes
I don't want to fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you baby
And I don't want to miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you baby
And I don't want to miss a thing
Lying close to you, feeling your heart beating
And I'm wondering what you're dreaming
Wondering if it's me you're seeing
Then I kiss your eyes
And thank God we're together
And I just want to stay with you in this moment forever
Forever and ever
I don't want to close my eyes
I don't want to fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you baby
And I don't want to miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you baby
And I don't want to miss a thing
I don't want to miss one smile
And I don't want to miss one kiss
And I just want to be with you
Right here with you, just like this
And I just want to hold you close
I feel your heart so close to mine
And just stay here in this moment
For all the rest of time
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Don't want to close my eyes
Don't want to fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you baby
And I don't want to miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you (even when I dream)
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you baby
And I don't want to miss a thing
I don't want to close my eyes
I don't want to fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you baby
And I don't want to miss a thing
'Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you baby
And I don't want to miss a thing
Don't want to close my eyes
I don't want to fall asleep, yeah
And I don't want to miss a thing

I was hesitant to participate this week since I don't have a voice; well, I do, but it's harsh, strained, and raspy. I have a terrible cough and am covid positive, but I am starting to feel better, though I am still at home isolated.
But I don't wanna miss this weeks' theme "Doing the Work," which was chosen by @lk666.and so I opted to play my guitar, voiceless. 😅😊
College days, I recalled how badly I wanted to learn to play the guita - but didn't know how - so I asked a friend to show me ways to read chord charts and pluck the strings. What's Up by 4 Non Blondes was one of the songs I kept playing once I worked it out because, aside from being a timeless classic with basic chords and strum, I like the beat and the lyrics. Despite being in difficult social and mental circumstances at times, it is imperative to embrace life and all it has to offer. That is the message, at least for me. In addition, this song helped me not only learn to play the guitar, but also to enjoy and appreciate music.
To be clear, I'm still no expert at playing the guitar.
It's disappointing, but owing to studies, work and liabilities, I didn't have enough focus and consistent practice. But because I adore music, I still play the guitar on occasion and it would be awesome if I can learn to pluck and fingerstyle!

25 years and my life is still
Tryin' to get up that great big hill of hope
For a destination
I realized quickly when I knew I should
That the world was made up of this brotherhood of man
For whatever that means
And so I cry sometimes when I'm lying in bed
Just to get it all out what's in my head
And I, I am feeling a little peculiar
And so I wake in the morning and I step outside
And I take a deep breath and I get real high
And I scream from the top of my lungs
"What's going on?"
And I say, hey-ey-ey
Hey-ey-ey
I said "Hey, a-what's going on?"
And I say, hey-ey-ey
Hey-ey-ey
I said "Hey, a-what's going on?"
Ooh, ooh
Ooh
Ooh, uh huh
Ooh, ooh
Ooh
Ooh, uh huh
And I try
Oh my God, do I try
I try all the time
In this institution
And I pray
Oh my God, do I pray
I pray every single day
For revolution
And so I cry sometimes when I'm lying in bed
Just to get it all out, what's in my head
And I, I am feeling a little peculiar
And so I wake in the morning and I step outside
And I take a deep breath and I get real high
And I scream from the top of my lungs
"What's going on?"
And I say, hey-ey-ey
Hey-ey-ey
I said "Hey, what's going on?"
And I say, hey-ey-ey
Hey-ey-ey
I said "Hey, a-what's going on?"
And I say, hey-ey-ey
(Wake in the morning and step outside)
Hey-ey-ey
(Take a deep breath and I get real high)
(And I scream)
I said "Hey, a-what's going on?"
And I say, hey-ey-ey
(Wake in the morning and step outside)
Hey-ey, yeah yeah yeah
(Take a deep breath and I get real high)
(And I scream)
I said "Hey, a-what's going on?"
Ooh, ooh
Ooh
Ooh, uh huh
25 years and my life is still
Tryin' to get up that great big hill of hope

Hey hey Hivers @hiveopenmic. What are you all up to?
When I saw this week's theme "More than words" chosen by @davidbolu34,
I instantly recalled the song Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol. I thought it was a perfect fit !
I first heard and fell in love with Chasing Cars when I watched Grey's Anatomy, an American medical drama television series. It came so strong and heartbreaking and every time it was played in the series my reaction would be like, “ Oh nooo please, don’t ! ”. Hahahahaha!
To be honest, this still makes me feel sad, but I adore it as it highlights the importance of simply being there for someone rather than saying those three words, which may be too much or too little. You'll understand what this song implies if you've seen Grey's Anatomy....
So, without further ado, here are the lyrics.
Song Title: Chasing Cars
By: Snow Patrol
Lyrics Source: https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=Chasing+cars+lyrics&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
Lyrics
We'll do it all
Everything
On our own
We don't need
Anything
Or anyone
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
I don't quite know
How to say
How I feel
Those three words
Are said too much
They're not enough
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life
Let's waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads
I need your grace
To remind me
To find my own
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life
All that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes, they're all I can see
I don't know where
Confused about how as well
Just know that these things will never change for us at all
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?
As always, my deepest gratitude @hiveopenmic!

Helllloooooo Hive Open Mic community! So glad that I am able to participate, yet again, to this week's music themed ' Infantil ' meaning baby in English.
This week I have chosen Wake me up before you go go by Wham as being born in the late 70's, started appreciating music on the late 80's, grown ups around me at that time loved the 80's music and this song was one of them. Old but gold music indeed.
As always, feel free vibin' with me 😊☺️

Lyrics
Jitterbug
Jitterbug
Jitterbug
Jitterbug
You put the boom-boom into my heart
You send my soul sky-high
When your lovin' starts
Jitterbug into my brain
Goes a bang-bang-bang
'Til my feet do the same
But something's bugging me
Something ain't right
My best friend told me
What you did last night
You left me sleeping in my bed
I was dreaming
But I should've been with you instead
Wake me up before you go-go
Don't leave me hanging on like a yo-yo
Wake me up before you go-go
I don't wanna miss it when you hit that high
Wake me up before you go-go
'Cause I'm not planning on going solo
Wake me up before you go-go
Take me dancing tonight
I wanna hit that high, yeah yeah
You take the grey skies outta my way
You make the sun shine brighter than Doris Day
You turned a bright spark into a flame
My beats per minute never been the same
'Cause you're my lady
I'm your fool
It makes me crazy when you act so cruel
Come on baby
Let's not fight
We'll go dancing
Everything will be alright
Wake me up before you go-go
Don't leave me hanging on like a yo-yo
Wake me up before you go-go
I don't wanna miss it when you hit that high
Wake me up before you go-go
'Cause I'm not planning on going solo
Wake me up before you go-go
Take me dancing tonight
I wanna hit that high, yeah yeah yeah, baby
Cuddle up baby
Move in tight
We'll go dancing tomorrow night
It's cold out there
But it's warm in bed
They can dance
We'll stay home instead
(Jitterbug)
Wake me up before you go-go
Don't leave me hanging on like a yo-yo
Wake me up before you go-go
I don't wanna miss it when you hit that high
Wake me up before you go-go
'Cause I'm not planning on going solo
Wake me up before you go-go
Take me dancing tonight
Wake me up before you go-go
Don't you dare to leave me hanging on like a yo-yo
Take me dancing
A boom-boom-boom-boom, oh!
A boom-boom-boom-boom (Yeah, yeah)
(Take me dancing tonight) Yeah!
Yeah, yeah
Thank you loads @hiveopenmic !

Another week has passed, and the theme for this week is 'Local Tradition.' The song I've chosen is Eva Eugenio's Katakataka, which is a Filipino folk love song. Eva Eugenio is a Filipina singer who came to fame in the late 1970s and early 1980s as one of the Philippines' "Jukebox Queens." This song appealed to me because it is lively and made me sway throughout. It also reminded me of my primary school days, when I was a member of our school's folk dancers.
So here are the lyrics dearest @hiveopenmic. Feel free to come join in and sway with me. ☺️

Lyrics

Hello, Hivers! I hope you're doing well, especially to our wonderful @hiveopenmic community.
This week is special because we are all singing one song to signify unity and love. I'm joining because I believe that through music, we are all one, regardless of our differences. @ebingo, brother, thank you for your "This Little Town" music. I'm hoping that through this, people will become more aware of what's going on in your place, and that something will be done to alleviate the situation. As I sing this, my thoughts and prayers goes out to Nigeria, hoping that everything will work out in the end. 🙏❤️
Song: This Little Town

To this small town

Before it all falls down

Coming up with a song for @eugelys Abrazo musical took me a long time. I couldn't think of any then I came across "Happy" by Pharrell Williams. This song's upbeat melody encourages listeners to embrace happiness in the face of adversity. I particularly enjoy the chorus, in which Pharell encourages listeners to clap along to his music even when things aren't going well.
Thinking about that, I normally turn up the volume on my music and sing and dance my heart out when I'm emotionally unstable. After that, I feel much better. It's fantastic to embrace music simply by listening to it.
Let's go guys, even if it's just for a little bit, let's conquer unhappiness by singing together with me to this awesome song!

Lyrics
It might seem crazy what I am 'bout to say
Sunshine she's here, you can take a break
I'm a hot air balloon that could go to space
With the air, like I don't care, baby by the way
Huh (Because I'm happy)
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
(Because I'm happy)
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
(Because I'm happy)
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
(Because I'm happy)
Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do
Here come bad news talking this and that (Yeah)
Well give me all you got, don't hold back (Yeah)
Well I should probably warn you I'll be just fine (Yeah)
No offence to you don't waste your time
Here's why
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
(Because I'm happy)
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
(Because I'm happy)
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
(Because I'm happy)
Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do
Uh, bring me down
Can't nothing, bring me down
My level's too high to bring me down
Can't nothing, bring me down, I said
Bring me down, can't nothing
Bring me down
My level's too high to bring me down
Can't nothing, bring me down, I said
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
(Because I'm happy)
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
(Because I'm happy)
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
(Because I'm happy)
Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
(Because I'm happy)
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
(Because I'm happy)
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
(Because I'm happy)
Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do
Uh, bring me down (Happy, happy, happy, happy)
Can't nothing (Happy, happy, happy, happy)
Bring me down, my level's too high
To bring me down (Happy, happy, happy, happy)
Can't nothing (Happy, happy, happy, happy)
Bring me down, I said
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
(Because I'm happy)
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
(Because I'm happy)
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you (ayy, ayy, ayy)
(Because I'm happy)
Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
(Because I'm happy)
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
(Because I'm happy)
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you (hey)
(Because I'm happy)
Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do

Yay for another week and another chance to share music at hive open mic community, for which I am immensely thankful. Since the theme this week is paper kites, I chose the song "Superman" by Five for Fighting, as Superman, like paper kites, can fly high in the sky and tumble as well. This song, in my opinion, is not only for men, but for everybody who tries to live up to others' higher expectations than their own. Someone who believes that the others expect too much of them and who loses themselves in the process of trying to please everyone.
Song Title: Superman
By: Five For Fighting
Lyrics Source: https://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=Superman+five+for+fighting+lyrics&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
Lyrics
I can't stand to fly
I'm not that naive
I'm just out to find
The better part of me
I'm more than a bird, I'm more than a plane
I'm more than some pretty face beside a train
And it's not easy to be me
I wish that I could cry
Fall upon my knees
Find a way to lie
'Bout a home I'll never see
It may sound absurd, but don't be naive
Even heroes have the right to bleed
I may be disturbed, but won't you concede
Even heroes have the right to dream?
And it's not easy to be me
Up, up, and away, away from me
Well, it's all right
You can all sleep sound tonight
I'm not crazy
Or anything
I can't stand to fly
I'm not that naive
Men weren't meant to ride
With clouds between their knees
I'm only a man in a silly red sheet
Digging for kryptonite on this one way street
Only a man in a funny red sheet
Looking for special things inside of me
Inside of me
Inside of me
Yeah, inside of me
Inside of me
I'm only a man in a funny red sheet
I'm only a man looking for a dream
I'm only a man in a funny red sheet
And it's not easy, ooh, ooh, ooh
It's not easy to be me
I hope you loved my cover and that you sang along with it.
Have a great day, everyone!

Howdy Hivers!?, most especially to the awesomest hive open mic community! Hope all is well and good.
Who has not seen the Notting Hill movie? I bet the majority of us did, which led us to be very familiar with Ronan Keating's song, When you say nothing at all.
I have chosen this song as for me it relates to this week's theme, Undisclosed Words. In my own interpretation, this song is about how someone loves someone and how he/she tell them she loves them even though he/she doesn't say anything.
Action speaks louder than words indeed.
Song Title: When You Say Nothing At All
By: Ronan Keating
Lyrics Source: https://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/ronankeating/whenyousaynothingatall.html
Lyrics
It's amazing how you
Can speak right to my heart.
Without saying a word
You can light up the dark.
Try as I may, I could never explain
What I hear when you don't say a thing.
The smile on your face
Lets me know that you need me.
There's a truth in your eyes
Saying you'll never leave me.
The touch of your hand says you'll catch me wherever I fall.
You say it best when you say nothing at all.
All day long I can hear
People talking out loud,
But when you hold me near (you hold me near)
You drown out the crowd (the crowd, the crowd).
Try as they may, they can never define
What's been said between your heart and mine.
The smile on your face
Lets me know that you need me.
There's a truth in your eyes
Saying you'll never leave me.
The touch of your hand says you'll catch me wherever I fall.
You say it best (you say it best) when you say nothing at all.
The smile on your face
Lets me know that you need me.
There's a truth in your eyes
Saying you'll never leave me.
The touch of your hand says you'll catch me wherever I fall.
You say it best (you say it best) when you say nothing at all.
Thank you, @hanselmusic, for selecting this week's theme, and thank you, @hiveopenmic community, for embracing musical diversity.

It was meant to be another Sungkai Dinner Day Out with friends, but we had to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances. And, because I wasn't planning on going out anyhow, I opted to make my own dinner.
As this meal has mussels and prawns, I've named it Seafood Mix Vegetable. Although the preparation time is longer than the cooking time, this is a really simple dish.
So, my fellow foodies beehivers, here it goes...
Recipe: Seafood Mix Veggies
Garlic
Onion
Ginger
Chayote
Carrots
Beans
Capsicum
Bell pepper
Prawn
Mussels
Soy sauce
Salt
Pepper
Butter
Procedure
Boiled eggs are also a good addition to this recipe. I still have leftovers, which I'll eat tomorrow with two boiled eggs. That sounds like a pretty good plan. Wooooop!
Many thanks Foodies Bee hive community. You rock!
Signing off 😊😍

How are you all fellow hivers especially the @hiveopenmic community? I hope the day was favourable to you as it was with me.
Another week another Cyndi Lauper eh?!
( If you have seen me last week that is 😅✌️😁)
I just love her and her songs, 80's music do rock.
This week's theme is Brave Minds, and I chose this song because it reminded me a lot of long-distance relationships, which is something I'm going through right now. Time after Time is a song about the reality of unconditional love for someone even though they are not in the same time or space as you. It's about addressing the challenge bravely, that love offers over time—for better or worse, people changing together and apart but choosing each other over and again.
Song Title: Time after Time
By: Cyndi Lauper
Lyrics

Lying in my bed, I hear the clock tick and think of you
Caught up in circles, confusion is nothing new
Flashback, warm nights almost left behind
Suitcase of memories, time after...
Sometimes you picture me, I'm walking too far ahead
You're calling to me, I can't hear what you've said
Then you say, "Go slow", I fall behind
The second hand unwinds
If you're lost, you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you, I'll be waiting
Time after time
If you're lost, you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you, I'll be waiting
Time after time
After my picture fades and darkness has turned to gray
Watching through windows, you're wondering if I'm OK
Secrets stolen from deep inside
The drum beats out of time
If you're lost, you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you, I'll be waiting
Time after time
You said, "Go slow", I fall behind
The second hand unwinds
If you're lost, you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you, I'll be waiting
Time after time
If you're lost, you can look and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you, I'll be waiting
Time after time
Time after time
Time after time
Time after time
Time after time
Time after time
Time after time
Time after time
Time after time
Time after time
Time after time
Thanks for dropping by in advance and for singing along!
'Til next week!
