A podcast about finding love when it’s about bloomin’ time! Conversations about overcoming barriers to finding love at any age. Advice and encouragement for anyone seeking a love relationship.
On this episode of Late Bloomin’ Love, a conversation with a couple who were friends for nearly two decades before any sparks flew between them.
Susan and Jeff, 48 and 44 respectively, were longtime colleagues, and then hiking buddies, who had no thoughts of romance until a fun road trip together took a surprising turn.
They explain to Amanda Klang why they almost didn’t let themselves open the door to love for fear of losing their friendship, why Susan was ultimately willing to risk it all to let Jeff know how she felt, and why it really IS worth being brave and courageous in that way because of what can happen next.

Kren and Hanene, 62 and 43 respectively, both became first-time newlyweds when they got married last year.
And they explain to Amanda Klang why their cultural, linguistic and religious differences did not deterthem from making a life together but actually revealed a much deeper shared set of values that keep them together.

On this episode of Late Bloomin’ Love, a conversation with a Montreal woman who didn’t date until her mid-thirties, when her arranged marriage with a man from her parent’s culture ended in divorce.
After that, as a mom of two young kids, she explored dating and began to question the values about relationships that she’d been raised with.
Today Naz is in her forties and happily remarried to someone she met in Montreal.
She explains to Amanda Klang what she learned from her first marriage and divorce and why the key, for her, to finding a great relationship was tapping into what really matters to her.

Late Bloomin’ Love is back!
With three brand new summer episodes!
It’s THE podcast about finding love when it's about bloomin'time… with host, Amanda Klang, and guests who join her to talk about love and relationships.
It’s been a while!
But starting next week, Amanda will be bringing you three brand new episodes to round out the summer – a summer you may have spent dating, not dating, in relationship, or not in relationship… but, very likely, thinking about all of it.
Each episodes will consist of a conversation that explores something different:
From a conversation with a Montrealer who never dated before her mid-thirties, when her arranged marriage ended in divorce.
To a chat with a cross-cultural couple whose stark linguistic and religious differences actually drew them together.
And finally to the ultimate late Bloomin’ Love story about a couple who fell in love in their 40s, after being platonic friends - with no secret crushing on either side - for nearly 20 years.
That last episode will drop on Labour Day.
And the others will come, one per week, each Monday before that...starting a week from today.
So keep your your ears tuned!
And meanwhile, enjoy these wonderful, waning days of summer.
Late Bloomin' Love is back!
And so are dynamic guests, Graham and Doreen, aged 87 and 89 respectively.

They share honestly about the joys and challenges of pursuing their love story at this stage of their lives.
They offer advice and answer the question, is it really all worth it?

This week it's a replay of a favourite episode from last season.
It’s part 2 of the conversation with sex educator and best-selling author, Emily Nagoski.
Have a listen if you missed this episode the first time around....Or if you need a little inspiration.
And we’ll be back with new episodes of the podcast soon!
This episode of Late Bloomin' Love continues the conversation with sex educator and New York Times best-selling author, Emily Nagoski.
Nagoski wrote "Come As You Are: The Surprising New Science That Will Transform Your Sex Life." And with it, her goal is to help people, and especially women, live with confidence and joy in their bodies.
In Part 1, Emily Nagoski told host, Amanda Klang, that everything she'd learned growing up about sex, bodies, gender, safety, love and relationships was wrong. And that her book, which corrects those misunderstandings, is part of a larger project to dismantle sex-negative, oppressive messages around sexuality. It particularly seeks to dismantle the messages that negatively affect women's experiences of their bodies, their sexuality and their sense of self-worth.
In Part 2, Nagoski offers some how-to's for anyone to use if they want to adopt new beliefs that promote positive feelings about their body, their sexuality and their worthiness to love, to desire and to be loved and desired just as they are now.
This is Part 2 of a two-part conversation.

Why do we often repeat negative patterns as we search for love? Whether it's chasing someone unavailable or picking a new partner whose shortcomings echo those of our last partner.
Attachment patterns may explain this. They are part of the emotional system in our brain that motivates us to maintain close relationships. And they can prompt us to avoid close relationships if our history suggests to us that closeness is unsafe.
In this episode of Late Bloomin' Love, Dr. Tim Farmer explains the four main attachment patterns common to all humans and offers some strategies to work with them if they undermine our desire to create a close connection with someone. Dr. Farmer is a professor at Concordia University in Montreal who teaches developmental psychology. He also had a private practice as a therapist. What are the chances of this? A Quebec woman finds love as a reality TV dating show contestant. She did not expect to fall in love; she just hoped to try new things (like surfing and hang gliding) with the man she'd been paired up with. And to benefit from the therapy sessions that came with the show. But in December 2021, in front of an audience of 800 thousand TV viewers, the two of them announced they'd become a couple. Vicky Tanguay's message to anyone on the search for love: Believe it's possible. (And maybe get some therapy too!)
