Florida's Lieutenant Governor, Jeanette Núñez declared recently that undocumented Cubans in Florida were considered “illegals” and should all be sent to Delaware. The following day, Florida’s Governor Desantis refuted her statement and said that undocumented Cubans were considered refugees and would not be going anywhere. All while, simultaneously, sending Florida state troopers to Texas to aid in the profiling of Latinos in border towns. Why? Rick Sanchez claims it to be 100 percent political. Sanchez is joined by attorney Thomas Saenz, President and General Counsel of The Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, and they both agree that being anti-immigration is a short-sighted political strategy with long-term consequences.
In 1983 there was a massive radiation leak in Juarez, Mexico that was never reported by the media and was covered up by the governments of Mexico and the US. Rick Sanchez is joined by journalist Isabel Carrazco who helped to uncover the story in Mexico. Carrazco tells an incredible story about how it happened and the role that the US played in the coverup. Sanchez proclaims that it was one of the world's biggest radiation leaks with repercussions still being felt today, and yet no one knows about it.
The Alex Jones trial revealed a lot about the dreadful state of journalism that we have today. Jones was recently sued for 45.2 million dollars by the parents of victims of the Sandy Hook mass shooting that occurred in 2012. Jones claimed repeatedly on his show that the deadly school shooting that took the lives of 28 children and teachers was all an elaborate hoax and that it never happened. During the trial, when Jones and his producers were under oath, they admitted that they did zero fact-checking, zero research, and did not vet any of the information that was put in front of them. Rick Sanchez goes off on the state of journalism in this country and insists that the majority of the people reporting the news today are not real journalists. Sanchez points to another bogus story that appeared on Fox News recently where a fake photo of Bruce Reinhart, the judge who approved the search warrant of former President Trump's home in Mar-a-Lago, was presented and reported as being authentic. The fake photo depicted Judge Reinhold in a very compromising position, and when the photo was proven to be fabricated, the Fox "Journalist" who reported it took to Twitter and stated that he was only joking. Sanchez insists that audiences need to stop listening to these non-journalists and make sure that what they are hearing is true.
On a recent episode of his television show, Bill Maher weighed in on the James Franco-John Leguizamo controversy. Maher contended that Leguizamo should not be complaining about a non-Latino playing Castro because Leguizamo has played other ethnicities in movies in the past. Rick Sanchez fires back saying that Maher is completely missing the point, is oversimplifying the problem, and deceiving his audience just to get laughs. Latinos aren't upset because a non-Latino is playing a Latino role; Latinos are upset because they continue to be represented in negative, stereotypical ways on screen and then the moment a plumb role like this comes around, it goes to a non-Latino. Sanchez is joined by show producer Scotty Mednick and independent filmmaker Edwin Pagan as they break down the problem of Latino type-casting in Hollywood. They conclude that Latinos aren't insisting that they get all the top roles in movies, but rather that the power players in Hollywood need to be open to new ideas and begin casting Latinos in other types of roles besides criminals, gardeners, and, maids. It's not about owning, it's about sharing.
Arizona State Representative Rusty Bowers was recently attacked by Donald Trump during a speech the former President was giving at a rally. Trump called him a RINO (Republican In Name Only) and a coward for his refusal to overturn the 2020 presidential election results in Arizona. Bowers, who also serves as Speaker of the Arizona House of Representatives and is a life-long Republican, fired back during an interview and said that there was absolutely no proof of any kind of tampering or election fraud found in the state of Arizona. Bowers went on to say that Trump has no clue what the average American goes through every day in order to make ends meet and has no idea what real courage is. Rick Sanchez is joined by Podcaster and life coach Pam Covarrubias as they discuss different ways to not allow outside negative influences to affect your day-to-day attitudes and performance. Sanchez and Covarrubias agree that it is always good to stand up and defend yourself against bullies who try to disparage or denounce you. Latino actors feel betrayed once again by Hollywood as they are passed up for a role they seemed to covet. Renowned Hollywood casting director Carla Hool joins Rick to explain why Latinos are treated differently than all other minorities when it comes to movie and TV roles.
Fidel Castro may have died almost six years ago, but he is still casting a large shadow over the Latino community in the United States. Why? Because his estranged daughter Alina has a movie coming out. “Alina of Cuba,” could be a Hollywood blockbuster that is already garnering tons of attention because of the Castro name. James Franco, presently involved in his own sexual controversy, is now the target of Latinos who are angry that he has been cast as Fidel. Why is actor and activist John Leguizamo and so many other Latinos outraged? This podcast answers the questions revealing yet another Latino truth about Hollywood.
Ultra-conservative, and controversial cable news channel OAN is asking liberals for help. It seems that Verizon has decided to drop them from their platform and they don't think it's fair. Rick Sanchez calls out one of OAN's anchors, Alison Steinberg for having the audacity to ask the American public for help after everything that she has done to promote hate and divisiveness in the past. She has gone after Latinos, the LGBTQ community, President Biden, and even the Pope! Sanchez concludes that Steinberg is nothing more than a "Karen" that has made it to the big time and found a job as a news anchor. Sanchez also informs us that recent polls reveal that more Americans are voting Democrat than Republican. The reason? Donald Trump. Republicans fear that if Trump runs for President in 2024, it will rile up Democrats and drive them to the polls in large numbers. Ironically, it appears that Trump has become the best tool in the democrat's tool shed.
Matt Gaetz is at it again. While speaking at a Conservative Conference in Tampa, the controversial Florida Congressman described women who are pro-choice advocates as fat, ugly and odious. He went on to ask the crowd: "Why is it that the women that are the least likely to get pregnant are the ones most worried about getting abortions? Nobody wants to impregnate you if you look like a thumb." And when given the opportunity to explain himself afterwards, Gaetz doubled down on his comments and made it clear that he didn't care if women were offended by what he said.
For years, the media and Hollywood have stereotyped minorities in America, but when it comes to Latinos, the offenses seem to have gotten worse. There is no better example than Guillermo, who is cast as the likable buffoon on the Jimmy Kimmel Live Show on ABC, and is the nightly butt of jokes on the program directed at him. Guillermo is not an actor or a comedian, he plays himself, a Mexican immigrant. He’s not the only Hollywood stereotype of Latinos. Sanchez, whose name was used in the Rick and Morty Cartoon, takes us through the “hot, but dumb” Latina, the “criminal” and the “Guillermo” character. Among those are Sofia Vergara who was cast as Gloria on Modern Family, Tattoo on Fantasy Island, Chuy from Chelsea Lately, Pedro from Napoleon Dynamite, Tuco from Breaking Bad and even back to the Lone Ranger whose sidekick was named Tonto, which means dumbass.
While most groups in the US have a person, people or an organization that represents them and defends them, there is no such thing for Latinos. There is no Al Sharpton, no Ellen DeGeneres, no Sean Hannity or Tucker Carlson. What there is-- is a leadership vacuum that no one has filled. Notable possibilities are AOC, Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, but none fit the bill for reasons explained and understood by most Latinos. Sadly, the closest thing to a national Latino symbol or dare we say leader is Dora the Explorer. Why is that? And why is it that since Cesar Chavez, Latinos have remained and still are leaderless. Rick Sanchez explains.
Few things are more troubling to Latinos than hearing non-Latinos tell them who they are and what they are like. Unfortunately, because Latinos are so poorly represented in the national conversation that takes place in the US media and in cable news, there are few Latinos in a place to be able to refute anything that is said about them. The most trendy adage about Latinos these days seems to be that they are all different. It is usually phrased as such: “Latinos are not monolithic.” Is that even true? Rick Sanchez is joined by comedian Monique Marvez as they reveal the facts about Latinos, which happen to be very different from what we hear. For example, Latinos are both culturally and politically much more alike than they are different.
The January 6 hearings are shocking for Americans who have never dealt with the realities of a para-military-styled coup. However, others see the insurgency as a typical power grab they often have witnessed in their own countries in places like Latin America. University of Chicago professor William Howell joins Rick Sanchez to discuss how Trump orchestrated exactly what the CIA and the US state department have regularly attempted in Latin America when they did not like the outcome of an election. Rick also analyses Steve Bannon's vicious attack on podcaster Joe Rogan, John Bolton, and Mike Pompeo admitting that the US lies, cheats, steals, and initiates coups, Pete Buttigieg's fearless response regarding the Supreme Court Justice Kavanaugh protest in a question from Fox News and Moderna CEO's take of almost one billion dollars from public money for the Covid Vaccine.
Fox News's Laura Ingraham has been on a rampage with assertions that young people smoking marijuana is the reason for America's mass shooting problems. Rick breaks down the numbers that show that countries like the Netherlands, which have legalized soft drugs like marijuana actually have the lowest gun violence rate in the world, while the US where marijuana use is still illegal in some states, the gun violence rate is sky-high. Tommy Chong of Cheech and Chong fame, criticizes Fox for being dishonest and taking advantage of people's ignorance and fears. Chong also reacts to Jill ,
The Inspector general’s office is looking into whether the IRS targeted former FBI Director James Comey and Andrew McCabe as a form or political revenge under the direction of former president Donald Trump. Trump had attempted to cajole both men to get them to agree to drop their investigation of him, but when they refused, Trump fired them. Both men seemed to embarrass the president when they reported their meetings with him to the press. Soon after, they were notified that the IRS was auditing their taxes. Harvard Law Professor Lawrence Tribe says ‘political targeting is a serious federal crime.”
The January 6th hearing and possible charges are distancing GOP donors further from Trump 2024. Meanwhile recent articles, including one by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch’s Lynn Schmidt suggests only former Vice President Mike Pence and Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney can save the Republican Party by running as president and vice president, respectively. But will the Trump wing of the GOP ever follow suit? Rick points out a bigger problem for Cheney is that she’s a war hawk who will be inescapably tied to the disastrous war in Iraq that her father executed and profited from as both a VP and through his ties as a war profiteer with Halliburton. That could give Trump and the Democrats a talking point he will no doubt cash in.

A video shows one of the creators of Rick and Morty sitting on a couch riffing an experimental show prior to launching his hit show. On the video, a masked news anchor is presented as Rick Sanchez from the ‘7 PM News.’ Creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon are now into five seasons of the show. Roiland denies knowing of Sanchez prior to naming his character. The video seems to refute that, and he is seen watching the segment where Sanchez is introduced.
At the time of the filming, Sanchez was the host of Rick’s List on CNN, which was one of the network’s highest rated shows. Sanchez who says he likes ‘Rick And Morty’ as well as its creators discusses brand ownership with intellectual property attorney Mary Grieco.

Trump is not a self-made business person, neither is Elon Musk. In fact, many business people succeed only because they have more access to capital than the rest of us. Latinos are creating businesses at a faster rate and hiring workers at a faster rate than all other Americans. How are they doing that while continually receiving the scorn of the political and news media leaders? Beatriz Acevedo takes you through this phenomenon. She is the co-founder and CEO of Suma Wealth, a company that helps startup businesses raise capital.
Employers cannot find workers. The supply chain seems permanently disrupted. Inflation is causing the Federal Reserve to raise rates so fast it is bound to affect both Wall Street and Main Street. Latinos in America are blamed for not paying taxes, for voting illegally, for crime, for rape, for not assimilating, for not speaking English, and for a host of other conveniently unchallenged myths. Those myths serve to guarantee certain right-wing media outlets, radio shows, and politicians a large audience of uninformed followers. That is why Fox News primetime, OAN, Newsmax, and the Ben Shapiro and Alex Jones political podcasts exist. But what happens when we apply facts and research to those convenient myths? The CATO Institute did just that by taking each myth and putting it to the test. Alex Nowrasteh explains what they found—is it true or not true?
Uvalde Texas police failed to take on the gunman, while Senator Ted Cruz, who gets more money from the gun lobby than all Senators, insists all we need is ”more police.” At the same time, Donald Trump appeared at the NRA convention and danced on stage, which is just the latest in offensive displays aimed at Latinos by the former president. In 2017, after Hurricane Maria, Mr. Trump practiced his basketball skills with paper towels as he threw them at Puerto Rican victims. And Trump announced his candidacy with “they’re bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime, they’re rapists” when referring to Latinos who cross the border. Will there be a Latino or media backlash?
Notice how the reporting on Ukraine has been so over bearing on caring. Do people suffering in other countries matter less than those in Ukraine? The media seems to think that lives in Ukraine seem to matter more.

In what will go down as a historic business failure, CNN recently blundered in attempting to launch its streaming media product CNN+, but it’s not what you think it is. Media reports reported it superficially as an example of bad talent, content, and messaging. But to millions of Americans, CNN’s misstep was much more glaring—even stupid. It failed to target or even mention Latinos in its network rollout. Why is that such a stupendous mistake? Math—basic math and a changing America that CNN has apparently not caught up with.
