Entrepreneurship, self development and even mental health. We are covering it all! I’m sitting down with many individuals from all walks of life that all have one thing in common. That drive to chase their dreams! Regardless of what field they may be in, whether it be fashion, entertainment, or entrepreneurship, they all inspire me in some kind of way. We share our stories and what gems we have learned throughout our pursuit of success. My goal is to share those gems with anyone who is INENTIONALLY chasing their dreams and pick up some knowledge for myself along the way! A cheat code of sorts! SOUND GOOD? IF SO LETS GROW FROM BEING TALKERS TO EXECUTORS! LETS SHOW EVERYONE THAT WE PUT THE WORK IN. BECOME UNAPOLOGETICALLY AWESOME! LETS PROVE THAT SUCCESS AIN’T RANDOM!
Okay picture this. After killing it in high school in both academics and athletics your sights are set on playing in the NFL and graduating as an engineer. But of course you know what they say. Telling God your plans is the easiest way to make Him laugh. This was the case for Ramon Smothers. This once engineer now turned designer is leaving his legacy in a different way. We sit down and talk about his upbringing and the pressures that come with trying to be great and leave a mark for a family. He talks about overcoming anxiety and depression in the face of adversity. And betting on himself by not only becoming a life coach and author, but also making a smash in the fashion industry with his brand Legacy Lapels. Empowering men with style. I appreciate you for taking time out to have this convo with me!
Well, after a much needed unplug, we’re back and this conversation gets personal. Did you know the month of June is men’s health month? Neither did I! So to end it the right way, I’m joined by my guys Chris Avery and Spec! to discuss something near and dear to my heart. Male mental health. As time has passed and I look on my own journey it’s imperative that we talk about this. We touch on everything from the culture surrounding male mental health, the benefits of having these uncomfortable conversations, and changing the narrative. Please listen with an open heart and mind. And share this with everyone that needs to hear this. My hope is that everyone that sees this makes it a priority to make sure that you’re OK and check on the ones you love.

What’s up family! We back again with another episode and yes it’s an intimate one. After receiving a few testimonies I knew I had to give y’all another one. In this episode, I speak on this major cheat code I learned that has changed everything I do. This one concept allows me to manage my emotions, make clearer more fleshed out decisions and operate at an optimal level. This concept is called “it is what it is”. You know how I do with these. We keep it short and sweet. Learn it! Apply it! Begin living a more peaceful life.

What’s good family?! It’s been a minute since I chatted with you all directly. Usually I’m on here with a guest and they’re dropping gems. But I thought it was time to switch it up a bit, make things a little more intimate, and just give you some insight on few of the things that I’ve been thinking about lately. These conversations definitely allowed me to see different areas of my life, that I need to improve on. I’ve become more thoughtful, more calculated, more intentional and I would honestly say more understanding and caring. I thought I would share one idea with you that has really impacted my life. TAKE THE SHOT!! Three simple words that are so powerful. I want to discuss the power of adopting those words to your mindset and how “dangerous” of a person you become when you don’t leave anything on the table. When you step outside of your comfort zone for the things, dreams, and goals that you want. And how sometimes the blessings that you’ve been praying for are right on the other side of you taking that shot. I keep it short and sweet on this one! So let’s get into it!

What’s up y’all! And just like that! We’re back and this one, WE GET DEEP. In this episode, I’d like y’all to meet a good friend of mine and very talented artist Rashad Thomas (@yafavoritenigga). Better yet let’s use his artistry name, Damiere. Now don’t let the IG name fool you. Even though that’s a pretty bold statement to make, my guy hasn’t always been that confident. Having the raw talent to rap has been a gift of his for as long as I can remember but the confidence to get on stage or on tracks, not so much. We speak about his growth and how transparency not only gave him the confidence to step into his dream but ultimately improved every other part of his life. Also how he found therapy in an unexpected place. The visuals aren’t exactly how I wanted but THIS ONE IS TOO POWERFUL! I couldn’t keep it from y’all. So get ready! LETS GO!!!!

Yo yo yo!! Season 2 of the Success Ain’t Random Podcast has officially started and you know we had to kick things off with a banger this week! Everyone has been trying to get a hold of this man and I got him. The coolest guy on the planet. Mr. “playboy” himself. High Hefner. I got a chance to tap in with him about his new project and his journey as H-town artist. We discuss everything from his inspiration to be an artist, the benefits of staying true to yourself, what it means to “keep it p” and why you always should. This was a fun time and long overdue conversation. Thank you rocking with me. This is season 2. And like my Hef say “it don’t get no better”.
Family! We did it. 2021 was an amazing year. It’s crazy to think that just six months ago I was debating about actually starting this show. Pushing through self doubt, a learning curve, and other obstacles here we are. Words can not express how thankful I am for you coming on this journey with me. Leveling up as a family. I love it! I ask you if you would like to to see my top gems from every episode thus far or wait until we get 10 episodes in. Surprisingly only one person thought I should wait and the rest of you said to let it fly! Well as promised here it is. My top 5 gems of 2021 from the Success Ain’t Random Podcast. Listen up, be ready, be open, and most important of all……JUST BE INTENTIONAL. LOVE YOU AND EXCITED ABOUT THINGS T COME.
In this episode, I sit down with my boy, Aaron Mulligan, better know as Director Fresh, hours before an early screening of the season finale to his new series “Black Blood”. While an amazing team of cast members and friends from all over Lake Charles La. come together to bring this celebration to life, we chop it up about how all this came to be. Fresh speaks about what got him into film and the drive he has to keep going. He also touches on how important it is to have a strong team around you and the benefits of facing your fears head on. My boy was really busy that day but still made time to drop some gems on. Y’all don’t want to miss this one. Tap in!
In the episode, I tap in with full time designer and entrepreneur FSC Trav of Fuego Squad Clothing. We discuss his development from a streetwear and sneaker Connoisseur to full fledged cut and sew creator. As well as his growth as a business man. He shares with me a moment that really stood out to him and force him to look deeper into his craft and the relationship that can be formed from it. This was a good one y’all. So much game is packed in this so sit tight. If you are a aspiring entrepreneur, artist, or creator you definitely want to listen up.
In this episode, I get a chance to tap in with a few of my bros and do what I like to call a “temp check”. Have you ever had one? It’s when you take a second and ask yourself “Am I OK?”, “Is anything bothering me?”, and if so let’s get this right. I seat down with Bullythakidd, Chris Avery, and the good brother Tuck a.k.a Danny Deutero as we discuss the pandemic and the various ways God moved in our lives. Its pretty amazing how He can use anything to speak to you. I always say transparency is the key to growth and we get real open with this one. This episode is a slightly different vibe than the past few but I pray you sit back relax and enjoy. I promise you won’t regret it.
In this episode, I got a chance to tap in with artist, producer, and my long time friend Xai Stevens a. k. a. Balhead. We discuss everything from what got him into music, what he has learned from working with other artist, his upcoming project, personal demons and getting out of your own way! He also introduces me to a new artist that he is building with named Trap Baby and what that process is like. This was a dope conversation with a lot of self reflection. I apologize for the sound as well. I’m building this plane while I’m flying. Thank y’all for still rocking with me!
In this episode, I stop by my homie Allen a.k.a BullyThaKidd’s studio. We discuss everything from how he got started or how he puts it, “the villian origin story”, to the growth of his YouTube channel, and his over all love and passion behind the bass. Also a slight peak behind the curtain for those who are looking to get started on YouTube. He gives me a few tips that helped the overall growth of his channel that he still uses today. Lots of laughs and gems dropped in this episode. Definitely a good time!
In this episode , I got the chance to visit skybox studios, located in beautiful downtown Dallas, to sit down with up-and-coming artist and entrepreneur DVN. We discuss not only his development as a musician but as a man and deep dive into what it takes to not only stay consistent in the music business but also thrive. He talks about his new focus on the movement “Growth Only” and his passion behind the artist development sector of his business. This was a great one and perfect for our premiere episode. If you are a new artist or someone just looking to be intentional you’re in the right place.
