Too often when we think of Christians we think of self-righteous people who act like they're perfect and have life all figured out. This podcast is for those of us who openly admit we don't know everything, we're still learning, we make mistakes, but we really do want to do better. On this podcast, we will explore everyday topics and look at what the Bible has to say so that we will know how to better follow Jesus and love ourselves and our neighbors more.
Is truth just some abstract concept that doesn't really exist or is there truth that governs the universe that is immutable and unchanging? We want to talk about that in this episode on a more general level. We won't be looking at this so much from a Christian perspective as much as a baseline, across the board, perspective. Why? Because there is no point in talking about whether or not God is truth without first establishing if there is truth at all.
We're going to be honest with you we don't know everything. However, after six years of being parents, we've learned at least a few useful things. So in this episode, we want to try and pass on what we feel will be some useful tips to those of you who might be about to embark down the path of being parents or have just recently started your adventure! So take a seat and have a listen. We hope you'll learn at least one thing and maybe feel encouraged that it's okay if you don't have all the answers either.
This is the story of how my wife and I met and married. It's a terribly exciting tale of romance, action, and drama! Okay, that might be an exaggeration but it's definitely not your normal "how we met" type of story. We hope you'll give it a listen and learn a little more about us, your lovable and crazy hosts.
Oh no! Run for the hills! Christians are about to talk about dating. This conversation gets pretty all over the place with Christians today. Some are ultra legalistic about it and say if you date you're clearly not a Christian. Others say it's completely fine and some even go as far as to say that as long as intercourse doesn't happen everything else is on the table. So how is it if we're all reading the same Bible do we get such a wide spread of opinions on this matter? Beats me, I don't know everything.
Here's what I do know! The Bible has a lot of great guidelines on how to have healthy, God-honoring relationships(romantic or otherwise). So we want to look specifically at what the Bible has to say about that in this podcast. My hope is that this will be a breath of fresh air that puts some life back into this topic and hopefully can offer you some direction in your own life.
Circumcision is the norm in the US and particularly among Christians. The rest of the world, minus Israel, thinks this is a bit odd. So why is the US so different? Why has this practice become the norm? Is routine infant circumcision for non-medical reasons a good thing? That's what we're going to look at in this podcast. We know this will be a touchy topic for some but we'd ask you to listen with an open mind. We also want you to know that any information we share has come from verified sources.
We'll talk about a specific lecture given by a specialist on this matter called, "Child Circumcision: An Elephant in the Hospital". We'd encourage everyone to watch this video since it clearly and precisely presents all the science and information on the topic even better than we do!
Our hope with this podcast is to raise awareness and change hearts. It is not our intention at all to attack or shame anyone who did circumcise their child/children, but rather, we want you to ask yourself if it really was the right choice and if it wasn't to do what you can to make the right choices moving forward.
Are men and women different? Yes, in many ways. Are the roles men and women can fill in the Church different? Great question! In this episode, we will dive into what the Bible says about this. We'll separate doctrine from culture and hopefully end with a better understanding of what God had intended for His Church. So join us for a listen and let's see what the Bible has to say.
Women can't... How would you finish that sentence? If you grew up in church you might finish it in several different ways. In the next two episodes, we want to actually sit down with you and look at what the Bible says about both men and women and what we can and can't do. We know this topic can be highly controversial but we promise we'll do our best to keep the Bible at the center of it. This first episode will cover the difference between the sexes according to God's design. The next episode will look at what role those differences play in the Church.
Unlike Episode 3, which looked at the Biblical way to handle politics as Christians, Episode 8 looks at how culture tries to sneak in and lead us in the wrong direction in our faith. We'll talk about things you can look for to be on guard against these mindsets and show how they don't line up with the Bible. This is the first of several Christianity Vs Culture podcasts we'll be doing.
With Easter coming up we wanted to talk about the Gospel. As Christians, the Gospel is the center of why we do what we do. But what makes it so important? Why did Jesus have to come to earth? We want to look at the Gospel starting at Genesis and going brief all the way through. We hope you'll join us and we really hope you'll get something from this you can keep with you forever.
In this episode, we're going to talk about free will and how it works with our faith in God. We'll look at how free will plays into our relationship with God and each other. As a side note, this episode was recorded during a pretty intense thunderstorm so the rain and thunder in the background was not something we added just for fun.
This episode is five laughable tales from our past and present. We hope you enjoy them and that it helps you to get to know us better. They're a great example of how we're "normal"* folks just like everyone else.
*Let's be honest, normal is just a myth.
Have you ever met a fire and brimstone kind of Christian? You know the ones who talk more about hate than love? In this episode, we talk about an encounter we had with one such individual and whether or not this type of behavior is Biblical.
This episode will be able what the Bible has to say about how we as Christians should approach politics. We know that politics can be a touchy topic for many. This is not a red vs blue discussion. This is not a conservative vs liberal discussion. This is a, what did God have to say about this in His word kind of discussion. Because let's just be real, God's opinion on politics is the only opinion that matters.
So take a hear us out, double-check us on God's word to make sure we didn't mess anything up, and see if maybe it doesn't help you some.

Our first episode! We hope you'll give us a shot! We'll talk about who we are and why we're making a podcast, as well as, rolling into our first topic of discussion. Our topic in this episode is, "What does the Bible say about tattoos?" Maybe you already know, maybe the answer you think you know you've never actually checked with the Bible, or maybe you're just curious to hear what we will say. In addition to tattoos, we'll also talk about why it's important to love and respect others even when you don't agree.
