The organization that purchesed the abandoned track had announced plans to return it to active racing in late September and October. All events have been removed from the calendar. The BIG question for race fans in the Mid-South is, WHY?
What happened after demo of the structures began? Why the sudden stopage and no return to renovations?
Discouraged fans on our facebook post showed frustration- "A lot of hype that had race fans in the area very excited" - J. Saddler. "I was there the day they started taking down the old concession buildings and was so excited" - Jimmy, Raleigh. "I knew it was too good to be true, a pipe dream I guess" - Shirley, Atoka
No official word has been given on rrestarting the renovations at the facility.

She's the Memphis mom that simply thanked President Trump for sending the law enforcment surge to Memphis in September, 2025. Shortly after, crime began to drastically drop and Delisia Balinger posted a TikTok thanking the President for The Memphis Safe Task Force. That video went viral and the threats towards Dee Dee began. The "resistance" wasn't going to stand for a mom in Memphis giving any credit to President Trump and his administration. After more than 7500 arrests, over 150 missing kids returned, hundreds of illegal firearms taken out of the hands of thugs, more than 700 known gang members removed from the streets and their affiliated gangs left unorganized and running from law enforcment, the overall crime numbers have decreased 43%.
President Trump announced he wanted to come to Memphis to thank the multiple agencies who make up the Memphis Safe Task force for their work and hear the Memphis Mom's story and Dee Dee was invited to speak at the Presidential Round Table. She called Ditch & Tim to share her experience.

With the Memphis Safe Task Force in place, Memphis is now a city with zero tolerance and some people forgot what that means. Memphians, trained by weak and overly tolerant city council members & leaders, got used to living by the simple rule of "that's not legal, but it's ok" .
Pushing for resolutions eliminating "pretextual stops" for operating a vehicle with safety deficiencies like no tail lights, expired or fake drive out tags, the city council created a lawless culture in Memphis. Speeding and reckless driving, smoking weed while driving and other crimes were handled with "look the other way" policies because of a soft on crime DA, city council and leadership. It's taken federal agencies to step in and correct this mess.
The old city motto - "That's not legal, but it's ok" has been thrown out because THP does not answer to Memphis City Council and other leadership. And thank God!

A Facebook post by a New Jersey man was a harmless joke about what we all experience - The Self Checkout. Drew Delgado called for a Wal Mart Self Checkout Party for all the self checkout employees- the consumers who scan their own products and when something won't scan, or you make an attempt to purchase alcohol - you are often stuck looking around for someone with the magic code that allows the purchase. We've all been there and Drew wanted to call have some fun with it by calling for the party. It took on a life of it's own and now, Drew and his wife Nicole have turning it into something big!

Memphis restaurant owner, Shawn Danko puts into perspective the fight that his business is taking on to keep the doors open under the current climate. Government regulations, shrinking foot traffic downtown for various reasons and the expected loss of revenue (average nearly 70 million) from moving the decades old Memphis In May events. That move, due in part to the redesign of TLP by MRPP. "We're all fighting for less dollars".

Ditch and Tim Van Horn discuss the effort to spend $500,000 to study the feasibility of passenger trains connecting Memphis to Nashville and ultimately Atlanta. Regardless of how expensive and time restricting riding a train from Memphis to Atlanta would be, it's really another step towards control of your mobility.
Steve Cohen (D) has asked for a study to connect Memphis to Nashville and ultimately to Atlanta. This romance that government has with riding the rails, is really all about control. The heavy handed regulations on the auto manufactures to go all EV is also about control of how your move around. The efforts to regulate you into submission will continue by this climate control cult club with one goal- control how you move about.

Ditch and Tim Van Horn spoke to former Department of Education Press Secretary Angela Morabito about the country's math scores and if 34th is a win or a loss. Also MIT, UPenn and Harvard presidents refusal to admit what is being said and done by students on their campuses is bullying, hate speech and breaks the schools code of conduct rules.
The results of the Program for International Student Assessment are in, and they're pretty bleak - our math score sank to an all-time low, dropping 13 points since 2018. We're now 34th in math among the tested countries/economies, getting out-competed by several east Asian countries, all of Scandinavia (which barely closed during COVID), and places like Latvia, Vietnam, Malta, and more.
Sec. Cardona is hailing the scores as a win because other countries performed worse and so, we rose in the rankings. He's claiming that $200 billion in K-12 COVID relief spending was a good investment, when our raw scores in reading, math, and science all decreased! Instead of admitting money hasn't solved our country's educational woes, the Department of Education has posted a video gushing about how educators are unicorns.

Memphis City Councilman Frank Colvett said on Memphis Morning News, he's not sure if JB Smiley didn't read the U of M Auxiliary charter before he presented a resolution demanding seats on the board. Simply put- there are no additional seats. This is part of the city council's attempt to push back on Mayor Strickland's plan to transfer Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium to the University of Memphis. Council members showed dissatisfaction that the mayor didn't present it to them before going public. The council's animus towards the handling of the plan, could put the $50 million gift by the Smith family, in jeopardy.
