Tyquan Thornton was selected in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Thornton shows a lot of potential in terms of what he's brought to the table so far for the Patriots, with his speed and ability to gain separation being big factors in his success. But can he turn things up to the next level in the future, and if so, how?

The Patriots travelled to Cleveland and defeated the Browns 38-15. Bailey Zappe looked amazing, throwing for over 300 yards, alongside another fantastic outing by the Patriots defense that saw New England return to its old style of good complimentary football.

I really didn’t think I would end up making this video when the Patriots drafted Bailey Zappe earlier this year, but given the circumstances, I think it’s relatively appropriate. And given Bill Belichick’s recent comments on the QB situation going on right now, not only is the video appropriate, but I believe it’s necessary. Now the question at hand is whether or not Bailey Zappe should replace Mac Jones as the full time starter for the rest of the season. And so that’s what we are going to discuss in this episode.

The Patriots might have finally cracked the code on how to win football games this year. Run the football down your opponents throats and then compliment that by really solid defense that bends, but doesn’t break, usually. And that’s exactly how the Patriots were able to get the dub against the Detroit Lions, a team that had the #1 offense coming into this game.

When I found out that Mac Jones wasn’t going to be playing against the Packers, I knew deep down that as much as I wanted to hype up Brian Hoyer and Damien Harris and Rhamondre Stevenson, the Patriots were going to lose, and in my mind, they were going to lose badly. What we saw on Sunday, despite the loss, was one of the most inspiring games that the Patriots have played this year, and even without Mac Jones, I think that we might have seen on of the best offensive performances so far this season from this team.

I’m honestly still trying to recover from what in the world this game was. Was it a close game that the Patriots should be proud of competing in given their current situation? Or was it a game that the Patriots blew by means of bad decision making and turnovers. Or was it both? Let’s get into this game.

Coming off a disappointing Week 1, the Patriots look to rebound against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 2. Going into this year, the Steelers looked much weaker, but after last week against the Bengals, where the Steelers were able to go up 17-3 on the defending AFC champs and eventually beat them in overtime, I’m a lot more concerned. So can the Patriots overcome their old rivals and beat the Steelers?

The Patriots not only did not get the win against their much hated rivals in Miami, but they showed that their offensive inconsistencies are continuing from the preseason to the regular season. It's not time to panic yet, but there is a crap ton of work to be done.

In Miami. Against Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. Tua's 3-0 against Belichick. Against an up and coming HC. With an offense that has questions. Can the Patriots beat the Dolphins. Lets find out!

The Patriots finished cutting down their roster to 53 players, and so it’s time to look at who these players are, who didn’t make the cut and breakdown some surprises seen on the roster. Now keep in mind, a lot of the players who were cut, while they didn’t make the final roster, they have earned a spot on the practice squad.

Preseason Week 2 for the Patriots is in the books, and with a win against the Panthers, the Patriots were able to get their first win in the preseason. But even with the win, while the Patriots improved where they needed to after last week’s game, they definitely took a step back in the areas they succeeded in last week as well, which definitely is definitely more alarming and not what we wanted to see. There is also some Kendrick Bourne news to look at and a status update on the OC situation.

The Patriots have had a rough couple of practices and this time, it’s not necessarily because of bad play. In fact, the Patriots offense does indeed look like it has gotten better over the past couple of practices. The defense is also continuing to play well, having a fantastic day in the joint practice against the Panthers. But even with the good practices, the Patriots just lost 2 cornerbacks and recently in their first and second joint practices with Carolina, got into a fight.

The Patriots played their first preseason game of the year against the Giants and while New England did lose 23-21, there were a definitely more good things seen than bad things throughout the game and there is definitely a lot to discuss.

The Patriots have been struggling on offense in training camp. There are days where Mac Jones has played well or parts of the offensive line have looked good, but so far we haven’t seen the Patriots offense look as clean as hoped, and they haven’t performed well consistently, especially considering the talent available. But even then, I believe that with the current struggles, the Patriots don't have a BIG problem yet, and that we will only get a grasp on things come Friday morning after Thursday night's game against the Giants.

Bill Belichick is still one of the smartest coaches in the NFL. In 2021, he took a team with a rookie QB and a less than average offense and got them to the playoffs. However, as of late, his decision-making this past year for 4th down has been far too conservative, often opting for the field goal (if possible) or punting rather than going for it. In this video, I'll look at 3 situations in which his conservative decision-making has backfired, and how it cannot continue going into 2022.

The Patriots going into 2022 are looking really interesting. If we look at last year’s performances and look towards this year, the Patriots on paper should have a much improved offense. However, the most interesting piece going into 2022 is Damien Harris. He’s heading into a contract season, which means good and bad things for the Patriots. In this video, I’ll take a look at Harris right now, how he’s performed, what he would need to improve, and why the contract season may help him.

The AFC east is now as competitive as it has really ever been, and now more than ever, the question of whether or not the Patriots can somehow make the playoffs, let alone win the division, is really something that we should be pondering about. Let's look at what this year’s AFC East teams will look like and if the Patriots are even good enough to beat them.

The Patriots capped off their 2022 NFL Draft with a bunch of interesting picks. From a pair of running backs and offensive lineman to a quarterback that threw for 6000 yards 62 touchdowns in college, New England sealed an already interesting draft with some more interesting picks.

With their second round pick the Patriots pick the speed demon out of Baylor, Tyquan Thornton. While Thornton isn't a big body receiver that can jump up and catch the ball, he provides a crap ton of speed that New England has never had before on their offense.

The Cole Strange came as a surprise to everybody except people in the Patriots front office. Strange is a great player and I wish him completely the best in the NFL. But with that being said, there is no way that he should have been drafted in the first round, especially considering New England's more pressing needs at linebacker and cornerback.

As I was scripting a Bill Belichick podcast, talking about why someone else should become the general Manager of the New England Patriots, New England came out with 2 flash bangs that to normal fans, would be quiet, but to Patriots fans, are freaking explosions of transactions. First we had Jabrill Peppers who signed a 1 year deal and then we had Devante Parker, long-time Patriots bully, who was traded for.

Free Agency days 2-3 are gone and they were really rough for Patriots fans. It seems that the Patriots were just not as aggressive in trying to get guys and I know that New England usually isn’t very aggressive to begin with, but unless there is a deeper plan that I am missing, maybe leaning into the future or even later in Free Agency, so far, I have been very unimpressed. Maybe it’s last year making a really big impact on my expectations, but I do think that New England overall has really been too quiet so far. But any way, lets get into the things that happened.

Now I know that free agency is still definitely going on and that the Patriots might sign somebody that I missed going into Day 2, but in the episode, I’ll be going over some changes that the Patriots made in Free Agency. And unfortunately, that list isn’t very long and isn’t very good either.

What a week for the offseason. Rodgers was resigned and will stay for at least another year. Russell Wilson moves to Denver and gets a fresh start in the Mile High City. And New England... gets rid of Kyle Van Noy, doesn't franchise tag JC Jackson and Calvin Ridley gets suspended. Is it just me or New England had a comparably terrible week.

New England is in a bit of a pickle right now. JC Jackson is an unrestricted free agent this offseason, which leads to the Patriots having to make a decision on his future. Now this topic has been debated multiple times by many different people. And the general consensus is that New England should keep JC Jackson. But with New England attempting to avoid the franchise tag, that leads to 2 options. Either New England signs Jackson to a long-term deal or they simply let him walk and sign with another team. There is also the possibility of a tag and trade, though this is unlikely to happen. But if New England doesn’t chose to sign Jackson, what are the implications and will New England suffer greatly from his absence?

New England is nearly depleted fully in their offensive coaching staff. So the question arises. What is New England’s coaching staff going to look like going into 2022? Mac Jones had an exceptional year in 2021. You’ve probably heard me say this a bunch of times over the past couple of weeks since the season ended. The Patriots would not have been where they were this season without Jones’s success and performance as a rookie. And while I would gladly continue to talking about how great Mac Jones was this year, we can’t ignore the fact that we also saw his limitations as a player. In this episode, I'll discuss who Mac Jones is as a player, what New England can do to support him and how Mac Jones can improve to take New England to the next level.

Joe Judge is a good coach. He was a great special teams coordinator that coached some of the best special teams units in franchise history. But after a bad tenure with Big Blue, Judge is back with stain on his career, now coaching as an offensive assistant. We have no clue what Judge's role on the offense is going to be. So instead of jumping to conclusions (exactly what I did in the intro), let's just calm down and remember that Mac Jones was a pro bowler this year.

We have 2 events to go over before the Super Bowl: The Pro bowl and the NFL Honors Show. I don’t really give a crap about the Pro Bowl game, even though watching the Mic’d up video is usually pretty entertaining. But the NFL Honors show. The show that tends to usually have a ton of controversy in terms of its winners. It’s a great event. Now for the most part, we have a pretty good idea of the winners, but categories like the Comeback Player of the Year and MVP Awards are very much still up for discussion.

The Patriots are coming off a great season in which a lot of things went right. But they are heading into a key offseason that could further support or diminish all of the progress they made this year. So the question is: What does New England have to do during the offseason to become a playoff, possibly even a Super Bowl contender going into next season? Before we head into Free Agency and the draft, we need to start with the one of the most important parts of the offseason period: The Resigning Period.

Josh McDaniels is about to run screen passes on 3rd down in the Sin City.

Well, the deal is done. After Saturday’s interview with the Las Vegas Raiders, Josh McDaniels and the Raiders agreed for McDaniels to become Vegas’s next head coach, with McDaniels leaving the Patriots. And just like that, yesterday’s podcast is now irrelevant. However, we probably should touch on the Vegas signing and what it means for both sides, because as much as I hate to admit it, the Patriots without JMD is going to look very different in comparison to the past couple of years.

Bill O'Brien. Bill O'Brien. Bill O'Brien.

New England is in a familiar pickle. A few years ago, there was a rumor going around that certain teams would want Josh McDaniels as their head coach. However, those rumors disappeared when McDaniels decided to stay with the Patriots in the hopes of winning more rings. Now in 2022, the Josh McDaniels rumor mill is slowly picking up again, but this time with a much larger probability that McDaniels gets hired. The Raiders are seemingly the most likely option, considering that he has an interview with them. So with that being in mind, who should New England be looking at in terms of Josh McDaniels’ replacement.

Is this the end for the GOAT?

This was the best round of playoffs we will ever witness. The sheer volume of quality matchups we got during this divisional round will have these playoffs in the history books. Only problem is that the 49ers survived. Nobody wants to see Jimmy G make bad passes in the NFC Championship game. I mean the Championship round can't this good. Right?
