You don't need permission to feel empowered! Another instalment of my weekly epiphanies.
This week I talk about the latest GTTF Zine Workshop and how I had ALL the feels while watching the girls create.
Welcome to another weekly therapy session as I dive into some big feelings around self-doubt and seeking out the negatives in every situation. I should have titled this one "hi, it's me, I'm the problem, it's me.".
There’s safety in comfort zones but you don’t learn a lot about yourself while you’re there. This week I chat about comfort zoning and ways in which you can seek discomfort in small ways to help you grow.
The magic is in showing up - on good days, on bad days. This week I talk through some shit in the world and the power of just showing up and chopping the wood and carrying the water.

“In a society that profits from self-doubt, loving yourself is a rebellious act.” - Caroline Caldwell
I’m not telling you how and what you should be doing with your 2023 but don’t limit yourself by someone else’s measures or pressures. What do you want from this year? Do it for you.
How it's taken me 27 episodes, I don't know, but here's the why, the what and the how of a standard cycle. This is for everyone. A surface level guide to what you should know to help empower you or the people who bleed in your life. This should open up the conversation... normalise talking about your period!
(also, Maisie Hill - @_maisiehill_)
What happens when you give people time, space and permission? It can only be a good thing.
Feels a little self-indulgent but here I am - talking about my latest adult job milestone and why it infiltrates every part of my life. Don't forget to play. "It is essential that we advocate for the wants and needs of children particularly in relevance to giving children broad opportunities to play and be active, space to play (particularly in reference to safe and accessible spaces designed with children in mind), facilitating socialisation (especially in light of social distancing measures), and acknowledging how beneficial and integral play is the development, health, and wellbeing of children." https://www.mdpi.com/1660-4601/19/19/12687/htm
The world is feeling pretty heavy so I'm setting some homework to use the autonomy you have and do whatever the hell you want. Create, move, swim, jump, swing, dance - indulge yourself. There are humans fighting for the privilege, don't take it for granted (or use it before the theocrates get us all*).
*They won't. We are the resistance.
I'm amped to be joined by Dana this week, who is doing a PhD looking at puberty and mental health in young people. The conversation flowed around puberty, periods, physical activity and sport and, why it's so important that we facilitate opportunities to be active in ways that young people actually want and need.
Imagine you'd put that bet on, hey? A new prime minister and a new king all in one week. Join me as I navigate looking outside your privilege, being open to learning and why representation doesn't actually always matter.
This week I cover exam results, using your voice, raising the volume and a visceral reminder that time is finite. Don't leave it too late to put yourself at the front.
What's missing? Everything. But what if we're the ones who could change it all? Some thoughts I've had over the last few days. As always, turn up the volume.
"You can't be what you can't see"; this week I discuss why representation really matters from science to sport.
Sandwiched between a graduation and my 30th, the last podcast in my twenties covers the three things I'd tell a 15 year old MJ.
Hopefully, this episode will add some fuel to the fire to however you're currently feeling about the overturning of Roe v Wade in America (unless you don't believe in women's autonomy - then I hope this puts your fire out, dampens the wood and destroys any kindling and spark source on earth). Here's a link to some of the organisations I talk about at the end:

Yessss, I had a chat with Cadi Rhind (@cadirhind) about the three things she wishes she could tell her younger self but we also cover everything in between. My heart was full after recording this, so I hope yours is after listening.
Amped to say that this week's episode features some girls at the front. Listen to what they have to say on a whole host of topics and learn as much as I did about what has changed (and what hasn't!) since being a teenager.
A pretty special episode this week as I sit down with my sister to discuss the three things she wish she knew as a teenager. We get there while navigating family, friends and team sports.
This week is about #inspo and curating positivity with people who want to fan your flames and challenge you.
This week is all about being a bit more vulnerable because GTTF is not a highlight reel.
This week we’re navigating how to create and seek out spaces that allow you to thrive with confidence and not just survive via many ‘I thinks’ and ‘A&1’s’.
