Art Breakers

Every human being has creativity within, but not everyone feels the call to be an Artist. An artist is someone who answers the call to create again and again, and there is beauty and value in that, because if to be human is to be creative, who better to learn about creativity than from working artists?

I'm your host, Mandy Harmon, a film director, creative marketer, and sometimes with teeth gritted, consider myself an artist. Sometimes an amateur one, and I’m working on not feeling any shame in that. Conversing with me in this podcast are mostly full-time creative artists of all kinds. Musicians, filmmakers, actors, sculptors, painters, writers, and many other kinds of storytellers. We talk about artistic philosophies, personal experiences, and even creative therapies that got our Artist Guests to where they are. From imposter syndrome, to when to quit, to how to persevere, to misconceptions of what artists need to be in order to be an "Artist.", we talk about it all in free-form conversation.

I’m inspired every time I talk with someone who creates for the sake of creating, and I hope you get inspired too. Art Breakers aims to share with you the kind of vulnerability that deepens your creative work in meaningful ways. In experiencing art, I believe artists can give all humanity something they didn’t even realize they were missing.
