Midori Doumani and her husband have a story that might sound familiar. First, they entered their marriage with massive differences in almost every area, from gender roles, to how to do faith, to communication style - it was bumpy from the start. Then, while chasing the American Dream of carers and money and more, more, and more, they found themselves with a marriage on the rocks.

Midori gets honest and detailed about discovering and owning the areas that she needs to grow and change. She talks about how she would get easily triggered and overreact, how she needed constant affirmation from her husband, and more.

After much work, surrender, growth, and learning, their marriage is now thriving.

Joshua & Midori co-founded Simply Midori to teach adults how to have successful relationships.

Eve Juurik, Author and TV host from Estonia joins me today to talk about how she learned to understand and feel God's love for her. This is a massively important topic and will strike the heart of many of you, you who struggle to feel special, important, or seen on a personal and intimate level by God.

Enjoy and don't forget to check out her book on Amazon.

Do you have someone you care for deeply in your life who isn't yet saved? I'm sure you do, we all do. We rarely talk about how to pray for them, wait, believe, not be overbearing and also not give up hope. It's a real and often heart-breaking experience to love someone who doesn't yet know or love God.

Author June Chapman joins me today to talk about her journey (and book!) in which she discusses all of this. After feeling a deep despair for her unsaved friends and the reality that they might spend eternity in hell, she began to question God about her role in their salvation and His.

Listen, laugh, enjoy, and buy her book if you have loved ones for whom you carry a heavy heart for their salvation.

Joining me today for one of the best conversations I can recall, is my friend Violet. Last year, she and I had a conversation on episode 74 (go back and listen if you haven't!) which turned out to have the most number of downloads all year!!! So, I thought... we better bring her back and see where another chat goes.

And boy does it go.... we started out talking about the Fruit of the Spirit, humility, and shame (among other things) but God directed our conversation to this question... "When you picture yourself interacting with Jesus / God, I mean visually picture it, in your mind's eye, what do you picture?" And the answers will wow you. We both cried a little!

So hold on to your hearts for this one ladies and make sure you listen through to the very end.

Today I'm chatting with speaker and author Cody Andras. Cody is a single woman in her late 30s who has written 10+ Bible Studies and has a new book out called, Jesus By Her Side, which explores Jesus' heart towards women as seen through His interactions with them in the gospels.

This chat is PACKED with GREAT theology. We talk alot about the Bible specifically, how to study it, how the Holy Spirit helps us understand it, and what it means to spend time with Jesus. One of my favorite interviews in a long time... great ready for the pure GOLD that is this chat!

The first bad theology we attack (and correct) for this new series "That's Just Bad Theology" is the lie many of us believe, if we just do all the right things God will give us what we want.

I get to discuss this concept with my guest, Pastor, and Author Steve Hinton. Steve is the author of Confessions: Finding Hope Through One Pastor's Doubt. We discuss the journey of learning that God doesn't give us what we want, but what is best for us, and the often painful and dark road of learning to accept that.

Enjoy this episode and don't forget to let us know what you think!

What is "Theology"? Why is "good Theology" so important? Is all pain and suffering just a result of "bad theology?"

In this episode, I'm exploring my signature phrase "The Truth Will Set Us Free" from a more intellectual side. Do right doctrine and good theology lead us to the most joy and if so, how can we find it and how do we know when we are in the wrong?

All of this and more!

I think I have some authority on this topic, not having gotten married until I was 39 years old! The single ladies want to know. The married women want to know. I'm going to give you my personal 2 cents on which is "better" and then, of course, we will dive into whether is that even a good question to ask, and what is the more important question to consider for our ultimate joy.

This time of year is intense for all of us. We all navigate moments when we don't feel happy and we believe we know what will make us happy. I just wanted to get real honest today and bring some healing and inspiration to this often not-talked-about thought that we've all had.

As mentioned in the Introduction: Juniper Mentoring Website

This week on the podcast we are wrapping up the 3-part teaching on Knowing the Love of God. This part is my favorite. It's real life, where our day-to-day meets our faith head-on.

God's love is free, it is real, it is perfect and personal, and yours right now. So why don't some of us feel it? What are some people still "looking for love in all the wrong places." Well, let me give you 3 places to start.

To feel God's love we must give Him: Our time, Our heart, and whatever else He asks for (our Surrender)

I pray this blesses you today my Sister, my friend.

I know, I know. I said last week's episode was the last one about New Age Spirituality, but here we are again with one more. I couldn't help myself!

When it hit me this week that our woo-woo, mystic, newagey friends out there are really doing much better than most Christians in this one area (an are God called US TO BE REALLY GOOD AT) I couldn't not address it.

So what it is? Where can we take a cue from them? Listen in to find out then send me a message on Instagram @therealrebekahanne or email podcast@rebekah-anne.com and let me know what you think!

Today I wrap up our 3-part series on New Age Spiritualism vs. Christianity.

In the first 20 mins, I hit on:

  • What all new age practices are really looking for and how Christ & Christianity proved those with more freedom, simplicity, and power

  • How the New Age practices make it nearly impossible to live a life for God and others (hint: most are very self-centered)

In the last 20 mins, I cover:

  • The gift of the Holy Spirit that we have as believers and how we can increase the power of the Holy Spirit in our lives (Ask for it, Walk in it, Do Not Grieve it, Do Not Quench it)

Okay, time to dive into a topic I've kind of been avoiding. I'm not an expert on this topic but I find myself drawn to alot of things... so I know if I am, you are!

It's time to take a closer look at New Age Spiritualism. Why are we so drawn to it? What is it exactly? Is any of it Biblical? Is it harmless? Does it work?

Today I start another mini-series and we're jumping in by talking about where our real power comes from. Plus, I give you a set of questions you can ask to quickly determine if what you are reading, doing, learning, listening to, etc., is New Age or Christianity (because yes, it can be very confusing at times!)

We wrap our our 3-part podcast series on Rejection today, with 3 TRUTHS (Biblical Truth, Ultimate Reality, God Said So!) that allow us, as His children, a chosen and Royal Priesthood, to be victorious in rejection and not victims of it.

  • God knows the details and we don't have to

  • People who understand grace and unconditional love won't reject you when you imperfect

  • Holiness will lead to rejection and that is ok

Allow me to flush these out with you and help you move these from your head to your heart so that you can heal and get unstuck from any rejection you may be currently feeling.

And we're back! Let's pick up our weekly episodes again, kicking it off with this teaching about how we can rest from our need to achieve.

Do you often feel pressure, anxiousness, and even guilt when you aren't doing something that feels "productive?" That's really no way to live at all! Let's take a little look at why we feel that way, and how we can reframe our desire to work and grow in a Biblical way and I'll offer you a few ideas of ways that you can begin to rest instead of going, doing, growing, and working... all that time!

Today my guest is Author Karis Meier. Karis and I talk about suffering (again, yes, for the 2nd week in a row) and how it holds treasures untold for us as believers. Karis has suffered from various physical alments for nearly 18 years and cycled from joyful, to hopeless, and everything in between. Together we venture through all that she has learned from this valley as well as the words of advice she has for people who are walking alongside others who are suffering; how to help them, how to be with them, how to love them when you are in a very different "place" then they are.

Karis has a joyfully infectious laugh, and a beautiful faithfulness, and is a rock in the Kingdom not because of anything she has done but because of what God has done in and through her. Listen in a meet a new sister in Christ, then go buy her book!

  • What does it mean to "assimilate" our suffering

This month, we are exploring the theme of Purpose & Calling in the Abundant Life Lab and today, I get to chat with Heather Norman Smith, an Author who lives in North Carolina about the moment she felt "called" to her unique path of writing.

Leaning into her unexpected calling of being a Christian Author has inspired her to encourage other women to lean into their unique interests and passion as a way to tell others about Jesus. It doesn't have to be complicated. It doesn't have to be "super spiritual." It doesn't have to be given to you by someone else. God made us the way we are on purpose! Our purpose is bigger, more fun, and dare I say "better" than many of us have been told it is. Yes, we have universal callings as believers but we also have unique giftings, passions, talents, and experiences that we can use to further the Kingdom. This chat is so REAL LIFE and will be VERY inspiring for all! Thank you Heather for leaning into your unique way of sharing Jesus with the world (and for writing your amazing book!)

Today you are in for a treat! Listen as Robby and I unpack GRACE. What is it really? Why is it so hard to grasp? Why does it make some of us so uncomfortable? Grace is simple but also complex, so it makes for a fun topic to nerd out on, and we do! Which, if you do have, is stealing the peace and joy and freedom that can be yours RIGHT NOW. Yes, it's true. We all remember when we really got grace. Have you gotten it?

We talk so much about areas we need to grow. We confess sins, share trials, and capitalize on pain points... today I'm taking a pause from that focus on "what we can improve" to celebrate the FAITH APPLIED I see all day, every day.

You're doing it you know. Trusting God as He asks. You are. I see it. He sees it. You know it. But who calls it out? Today I do.

I see you woman who is taking a pregnancy test for the 5th year in a row... still trusting God

I see you single women who can't muster the bravery to go to church, sitting at home crying out to God again

I see you woman who feels like you were made for more, waiting on god for His plan and calling

Take this short episode in and TAKE HEART. Satan wants to tell you that you failing, even with faith. I disagree. I see faith EVERYWHERE.

Friend, there is something we've gotta talk about. Perhaps you know the term, maybe this will be your first exposure to it. Today, I'm chatting with my friend about Progressive Christianity. What is it? Is it dangerous? How can we be on the lookout for it? You all know my entire ministry and business is based on helping women know and believe the TRUTH because the TRUTH sets us free. Well, Progressives really question all truth and redefine it, and therefore, your true freedom and power and even eternity are at risk. So I can not keep silent. Let's start this conversation so that you can be aware and discerning.

There are numerous reasons we stuff our emotions. We feel a sense of worry well up, or rejection, or self-doubt and we just push it down and shake it off and distract ourselves, hoping the feeling in the gut or body will pass. We are too busy. It's all too much. What if it's true? Or what if someone knew I had these thoughts? If I start to "go there" I'm going to fall apart and never feel ok again.

In this short episode today I want to give you something to think about. That maybe, just maybe this habit of stuffing emotions is actually preventing you from feeling anything at all... including GOOD feelings. Is it possible that if you are willing to feel what you feel you will feel better more often? YES. It is.

These concepts are hard to nail down, but today I'm giving it a very descriptive try... with lots of examples. The bottom line question is do you orient your life around the truth - or around what you can feel and see? Do you make your choices and your emotions SUBMIT to the truth or not? What we can see (the facts as we know them) and what we can feel, are not the path to freedom. Jesus is. The Truth is. We are going to keep taking this conversation deeper but let's get started here!

I love talking about confidence! When I sat back and reflected on my life so far, and God started to show me some obvious things in scripture, it dawned on me that the root of my confidence comes from a practice that Jesus himself prays for all believers to have and find and become. I've been blessed to have a TON of it in my life... like, way more than the average person I think. It's also something you can get into or make happen right now. What in the world is it? LISTEN and find out!

On January 10th of this year, I got a message on Instagram from someone I'd never met. Her name was Jessica, a podcast listener who wanted to share with me how a simple quote from over a year ago, impacted her greatly and helped her grow leaps and bounds in the Lord, in 2022. I loved her story so much I invited her on the short for a chat about her message.

You'll are gonna love her just as much as I do. Listen and LEARN - for the LORD is truth shines in her words and her life. Specifically was talk about how she overcame the "habit" of doing an intellectual quiet time and learned to really trust and rely on Jesus in a more satisfying way, daily.

Happy Monday friends! It today's episode I am having a conversation with a sweet, wise, sister in Christ who has a unique story of waiting on God. Violet is a wife, mom of 2 boys, homeschooling genius (in my opinion), and has spent some serious time and years praying for things and learning to let God change HER in the process, not necessarily the circumstances she was praying about (though that did come about too!)

List and be encouraged in your journey of waiting. Is there anything more beautiful than hearing someone else's story in depth?

In today's episode, I get to talk to Miss Meagon, a friend I met on Instagram who has listened to God's prompting and written a book about the redemptive work God has done in her life. We chat about the book, "Out of the Closet and into the Light" a bit, but mostly about her journey to writing it and how her obedience to God removed the layer of shame that she couldn't have removed herself.

Meagon shares about a lack of feeling loved, or belonging, bad choices, feeling totally lost, and how eventually she surrendered to the Lord and how He turned it all around for her.

This conversation is powerful and I know you will all love it. What a beautiful family of God we are all a part of, and what a gentle, holy, powerful God we serve.

Have you guys ever wondered if we should ask God for things that we simply want just because want them? Perhaps it's something that you deeply desire, deeply think will make you happy, maybe even think you deserve. Maybe you've been praying for years, should you keep praying? Or are we only supposed to ask God, and believe Him, for the things He's specifically promised in the Bible? Well, today, we get some major Holy Spirit ah-ha answers to those questions!

Enjoy!

So do not worry, saying ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.  But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:31-33

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”Psalm 46:10

Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.Psalm 1:1-2

I will sing the Lord’s praise, for he has been good to me.Psalm 13:6

Well my fellow warriors, servants of God, and women who live in this world... I want to remind you today that there is a spiritual battle going on and oftentimes, you are the one at the center of the mat! The Bible tells us that we can "wrestle God" and that we can also "wrestle evil" or satan. Today, I flush out that analogy a bit to help you understand what you may be going through right now, why it's important and how you can WIN.

Let's get this conversation going with our first chat about anger. Likely, one or two more episodes will follow.

This is the first episode in the 4-part series, How to Raise Emotionally Intelligent Kids. Having a high EQ is the number 1 indicator of success, health, and happiness. Yup, you heard me right. It's not which college they attend, how they look, or where they grew up. A high emotional intelligence allows kids to grow into adults who have good self-control, a healthy relationship with people, enhanced leadership abilities, great people skills, higher levels of self-confidence, and even, in most cases, a more mature relationship with God.

So.... how in the world can YOU help your kids develop a high EQ? Let's dive into that with this first episode. In this first episode, I focus heavily on what EQ is and help you think about your OWN EQ levels.

When you are talking to your single friends, daughters, sisters, sister-in-laws, friends, etc. do you find yourself afraid of hurting their feelings? Not sure what to talk about? Not sure how to relate?

Well, let me help ya out with this short, light-hearted, but very real list of things NOT TO SAY to the singles in your life. And more importantly, a few simple mindset shifts you can make that will change your perception and help you connect more deeply with the unmarried ones around you ... even if you have no idea what it's like to be an adult single woman.

Single gals and married gals aren't that different. One relationship status isn't better than another. Not all single women are unhappy and not all married women are happy.

Today I'm getting real (and a little sarcastic, sorry, couldn't help myself) to help you guys build curiosity, respect, and connection.

I could talk for hours about this journey. I could write books. Many books. But in today's episode, I just wanted to get some of my most helpful, true, and real-life thoughts and experiences out to you guys in a short, digestible episode.

In this episode, I'll hit on things like:

  • Was it worth the wait?
  • Is virginity the same thing as purity?
  • Would I do it the same way again?
  • Does having sex make us an adult?
  • Are empowered women the ones who "do what they want with their body?"
  • Why waiting did more for my faith and confidence than anything in my life
  • The array of thoughts I had over the years
  • And more!

Enjoy, be encouraged, and know that you are AREN'T ALONE. Pass this one along to friends and send me an email at podcast@rebekah-anne.com or find me on Instagram and send me a DM with your thoughts.

Can't wait to connect with YOU!

This week I am starting off "The Single Sessions" (a 4-part series) with an overview of my journey! This is a story of singleness, yes. But more than that it is a story of dreams not coming true, Obedience when it hurts, how God tears down idols, where true satisfaction is found, God's faithfulness, how we are shaped through heartbreak, and so much more.

It doesn't matter if you are single or married, my prayer is you'll find some nuggets of truth about human nature, who our God is, and how we were all designed to have our desires deeply met in this episode. Ready to refocus the eyes of your heart? Good. Let's go!

Together we talk about why all of us are really leaders, how to start leading yourself, the challenges of feeling like you don't belong or aren't seen as an "equal" in your space, and much more.

Do you lead a team? Do you want to someday? Are you starting to get a sense that you need to take some leadership of you own life?

In today's episode, you are invited in to listen as I help Wendy think through a big opportunity that has recently presented itself. When she arrived at the call she was feeling restless and not quite sure what her next steps should be. Together we dig deep into her desires, see if those align with God's desires for her, and feed the truth that it's ok to ask God for things, want more, and take big risks!

As always, listen and be encouraged that we are all pretty the same! We all want to make the most of our life but often hesitate to take big risks. We want to please God, do the best for our families, AND live out our gifts and calling.

Wendy is a picture of every woman, in so many ways. Listen, learn, think, and know you are NOT ALONE.

Welcome to another episode in which I share all the goods with you! Today, I am giving you my formula for managing your time and energy well WHILE enjoying life. I call this "How to Create a Highly Effective Schedule." In this episode, I start with a long (6 min!) intro, reminding us all WHY we do Self-Improvement work, and how to keep that work in a Biblical place. Then I shift into giving you the exact steps I use personally and with my Coaching clients, to take healthy control of their life and create more joy and fruit and less stress and anxiety. Along the way, I discuss common hangups women face and toss in nuggets of wisdom to help these ideas "click."

The 7 Steps:

1) Write Down Your Ideal Week

2) Build in Margin

3) Cut Stuff Out + Add Play

4) Plan Tasks Based on How Much Energy They Require

5) Pick 3 Top Priorities for Each Day

6) Have a Separate "General To-Do" List that Can Be Pushed to Tomorrow

7) Revamp this Schedule Each Week, and Each Night

If you don't have children, it will still be very enlightening as it might reveal to you some things that might have been missing, and you allow God to reparent you now, as an adult.

My folks weren't perfect, nobody is! But over the years they worked out a lot, learned a lot, and we are here to dig up the nuggets of truth to help you today. Listen in and enjoy!

Today I'm chatting with special guest and fellow sister in ministry, Nichole Chavez, about forgiveness. Specifically, forgiving other people. Even more specifically, forgiving people who don't "deserve it" and haven't asked for it.

Nichole shares her story (Trigger Warning: story contains an account of physical abuse) and how at first she tried to bury it, pretending like it didn't happen. That, however, didn't work in the long run and God instead invited her into a journey of healing of forgiveness.

Her story is beautiful, full of grace, strength, and the redemptive power of our God. Listen and be encouraged, driven to your knees, and set free to start your own journey of forgiveness.

Lately, I've been loving the story found in Luke 24:13-35 of when a risen Jesus appears and converses with two confused followers. As I've read this passage with no agenda, only to let it teach me, God has brought to my attention four soul-satisfying things:

  • Why God sometimes feels distant when He's really right there
  • How do people come to accept Jesus as Lord / get saved
  • What it means when feeling "our hearts burn within us"
  • The simple thing that we can all do today to be salt and light most of us aren't doing

I'm not great at reading the Word to just let it teach me, and if I had my guess, you aren't that great at it either. We like to look for specific and quick answers. Well, let me usher you in a quick Bible Study today with this short episode, as we sit at Jesus' feet and just learn together!

On today's show, I am having a conversation with author and speaker Rhonda Stoppe (her website) about endurance. Yes, that skill that is painful to develop, will be required of all of us and comes with infinite and eternal rewards.

Do you need some encouragement today, and some tools, to help you carry on in your situation? Well, you've come to the right place. Rhonda is the author of 6 books and regularly writes for websites such as Crosswalk. She also makes appearances on Dr. James Dobson's Family Talk radio show and speaks around the country.

She also happens to be the woman who lit my God-given spark to speak and teach when I was just 12 years old.

Monica contacted me for a check-in session. We completed coaching almost 2 years ago and at that time we worked through some deeply rooted lies and limiting beliefs. Since that time she had learned to internalize God's opinion of her and step more into her gifts and calling and even found herself in positions of leadership among her friends, family, and workplace. In this session, we explore the few little areas that still feel like a hang-up to her.

Listen in and be encouraged by knowing a) you aren't alone in some of your thoughts and questions b) women all around you are trying their best too so always give everyone grace c) some things don't always come as easily for some people but that's OK TOO... there are a few simple things you can do to embrace your strengths and release your insecurities.

Ok, ya'll! Let's get down to the 5 THINGS I DID (or better yet, that God lead me to do) that helped me fully heal from having anxiety and panic attacks. It's all in here for you. Listen in as I unpack how I:

  • Reframed (removed the fear of) the Anxiety Itself

  • Uncovered Lies & Found New Truth

  • Made Radical Changes to My Schedule

  • Gave my Body (TONS) of Time to Heal

  • Challenged Myself Again to Rebuild my Confidence

What a journey it was, but God was faithful. I hope my story is both inspiring, and helpful and removes any feelings of hopelessness or shame you might have. Email me at podcast@rebekah-anne.com to share your story, questions, or anything that particularly helped you from this episode!

Also, do you have an "I overcome anxiety" story? If so, let me know... I'd love to hear it and maybe interview you for the show!

It is with humility and excitement I share with you guys today the story of my experience with anxiety, panic attacks, and the process God took me through to overcome and completely heal (well that last part will be coming in NEXT Monday's episode!)

I've never shared this story in its entirety anyway, EVER! Now just felt like the right time. I hope that you can gain some, insight, receive some grace, and begin to wrestle with new truth as I simply share the details of this time in my life.

According to my very unofficial online survey, 32% of you reported that you once had anxiety but no longer do, 28% said they have had anxiety as long as they can remember, 10% said they've never had it before but currently are experiencing it, and 30% of you said you've never had it. All that to say, I know I AM NOT ALONE and I pray these next two episodes are a bonding experience for all of us who have been there.

Please enjoy and pass this along to anyone who might benefit from it!

Today I am chatting with my wise (oh so wise!) friend and mentor, Lynn Baber. An accomplished author, business owner, speaker, and coach, every word she speaks is purposeful and uniquely powerful.

Simplicity, clarity, and peace are all gifts from the Lord, yet most of us lack them. Not only does the world war to distract us, and overwhelm us with too many options, but we also lie to ourselves and make life more complex than it needs to be.

Together, we discuss the blessing of simplicity and get down to exactly what you can ask yourself and do to become a woman is not easily overcome by internal or external things but rather is rooted in knowing who you are, what you want, who God is and what He has asked you to do.

What if you made simplicity a priority in your life? How would that help? What would God be able to do through you?

Listen in, be inspired, and get tangible steps that you can apply TODAY!

Today, my friends, I speak from the heart and remind you of this simple truth... our God is trustworthy. No matter what He is calling you to do, do it. Where is your hope placed today? How high is your positive expectation that He is good and will come through? Hope is good for us, and pleases the Lord, but what should we be hoping in, exactly? Listen in and I'll tell you. Take heart today, take hope. Sending you all love!

Listen in as I have the honor of discussing The Bible with Dr. Rhonda Kelley. Rhonda is the author of numerous Bible studies and Women's Study Bibles. She serves as the Associate Director of Innovative Evangelism and an adjunct professor of women’s ministry at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

In a world filled to the brim with secondary sources, others' opinions The bible still stands alone as the only source of absolute truth and our most reliable, powerful learning tool for who God is, who we are, and how to live life. Yet, many women still don't have a consistent habit of reading the Bible. Rhonda believes that is due in large part to the fact that many don't know how to study the Bible.

I hope you are all blessed by this conversation about the Bible, the wisdom of this faithful woman God, and the many tips she offers to help everyday women begin to dig in and study the Word of God for themselves.

We worked together over a year ago, helping her overcome her lifelong struggle with insecurity and truly claim God's unconditional love for her. Her life was deeply changed and since then her leadership and influence have blossomed to where she finds herself now.

Other than reading my Bible and prayer, this one habit has been responsible for producing the most joy, growth, freedom, faith, and intimacy with Christ in my life. It has the power to auto-correct so many things that I hear women complain about! Things like, "I feel stuck," or "God feels distant," and so much more.

But here's the deal, there is a very specific type of journaling that I am talking about, and here today, I'm going to explain to you what it is and give you the step-by-step prompts for how to do it. Listen in and enjoy as I get super practical (and even read you some entries from my own journal!)

What is Identity exactly and where does it come from? Or rather where should it come from?! In today's episode, I have the honor of chatting about this important topic with Author and Speaker, Esther Pannebaker. Together we discuss our own journeys with how we came to root our identities in who God says we are and in knowing that we are loved by Him.

When someone's identity is misplaced or underdeveloped it causes them to live in a constant mode of comparison with a nagging void, that even all the affirmation in the world couldn't fill. Why? Because we were not created to find our sense of worth in anything external, or even in how we compare to other women or other Christians.

Filled with Gospel truth and scripture, today's episode will bring a splash of humble joy to all who recall who they belong to and challenge those who are still searching for a place to rest their worth.

Today I want to help you discern what is Biblical Truth and what is NOT from the massive hit and New York Times #1 Best Seller, "Untamed" by Glennon Doyle. As I pull out the main themes of her book, I also share a bit of my own story that I've never shared before! I hope this episode stirs up your longing for connection with Christ and your adoration for God and His authority .... not SELF (as the book encourages us to do)

Do you ever wonder why it's hard for you to savor the good gifts in your life?

Do you miss a deeper sense of meaning?

Are you frustrated by the things you can't comprehend?

According to today's guest, Restoration & Confidence Coach Tami Marie, grief is something we don't do well. We all experience it in various forms through a significant loss in our life. Loss of a loved one, loss of a dream or identity. But instead of learning from it, and thriving through it, we try to sweep it under the rug because, well, other people have it worse, or, especially as Christians, we are "supposed to trust God and be happy."

Tami shares her story of earth-shattering loss, and how she learned to move forward in life without holding into the raw feeling but also... without letting it go. The goal is not to "get over" it, she shares, but rather to learn that you can hold it, and joy at the same time.

Ten years after her own major loss, Tami now helps other women find restoration after loss and rebuild their confidence as a faith-based coach.

A new dawn breaks the darkness, when we reframe how we think about loss, healing, letting go, and living with the pain.

In this episode, I get a chance to converse with none other than... my mom, Sarah Gregory, about the topic of peace. My mom is one of the wisest women I know and is responsible for raising me to be the woman I am. She possesses joy, patience, and peace that has shaped my home growing up and my own walk with the Lord. But, as we find out in this conversation, that peace took work!

And it's never a perfect journey.

We quickly focus on the conversation on peace in our hearts, why it's so important, how to get it, and where it comes from, what steals it, and more. Raw, practical and so relevant, this conversation will inspire you.

About the Guest:

Sarah is a Pastor's Wife, mother of 3 grown children, and grandma to 5. She lives in southern Idaho where she is heavily involved in local church ministry, mentors numerous young moms, and speaks occasionally at women's ministry events. Sarah can be reached by emailing Rebekah at Rebekah@Rebekah-anne.com. Make sure the subject line says: To Sarah Gregory. I'll make sure she receives your comments, questions or inquires for discipleship.

Listen in for the 5 things that you can and should be doing, simply stated, as well as a better run-down of what is God's "job." We all know God has done it all, but it's good to hear the action words, and be reminded of where we can read about His power and promises to us in the Word.

Ever wondered if you are supposed to "fix" yourself or your situation or wait on God? We LOVE to have a plan and work on ourselves, and our lives, don't we. Is that good? Biblical? What does God really want from us?

In this episode be encouraged by being reminded:

  • You do have some power and responsibility in your life and faith, no matter who you are, regardless of your past is, or where you are today

  • You have been given everything you need for life and godliness

  • You "part" in all of it, is pretty simple actually because God has already done all the heavy lifting (PRAISE THE LORD!)

  • You aren't here on accident, you matter, and you are called to engage in the bigger story that is unfolding

Scripture for private study: 2 Corinthians 10:4-5, Ephesians 6:12, 2 Corinthians 10:5, Ephesians 6:17, James 5:16, Proverbs 11:14, Proverbs 15:22 and Proverbs 24:6 Questions for reflection: Have you taken on too much (or not enough) responsibility in your life? Is God calling you to ask for help (and thus lay down your pride or fear) or to STOP asking for help from others and ask Him more? Are you making time to do the deep work of examining and taking your thoughts captive?

Is there something we can learn from women of non-faith right now? I think there is.

In this episode, I'll cover a few of them, but also highlight the way these concepts/ideals/philosophies can only be made complete with gospel truth.

Let's look at why we need to be embracing our emotions...the truth that we were made for happiness...and why vulnerability really is a critical component of connection.

Sometimes our religiosity gets in the way. Let's look at some things from a non-religious lens today to see what truth we can find that will eventually lead to God getting the most glory out of us and us living the way we were designed to live.

What does God really ask from us?

How can we really please Him?

What do we do when we can find evidence in our life to prove that God is who He says He is?

How do we move forward when we don't have answers?

How long are we supposed to wait for a breakthrough?

Who, or what, are we really trusting?

Can we really ever know it all?

Is control an illusion?

In this episode, I answer these questions and many more as I challenge our modern mindset that many women have bought, hook, line, and sinker... that Information is King.... with the truth that only God is King.... and trusting Him means (thankfully!) that we don't have to know or understand it all in order to be free, happy, and pleasing to Him.

We have been sold a lot of lies but one of the biggest is that we can fix ourselves and our lives.

If we just think hard enough, and know enough, and learn more, we can get rid of everything that is wrong in our life and change everything inside ourselves that we don't like. Right?! And since we think that's true, we feel an almost unstoppable urge to identify, label, judge, diagnose, and find the root issues of everything that is wrong...so that we can FIX IT!

What a sad way to live.

We rarely just experience life, or a feeling, or God. Instead, we've become disconnected and unhaLet's ppy versions of humans who are trying to create joy instead of partaking in the joy right in front of us.

Listen and make the thought journey with me, and I lead the way from "You have to fix yourself so you better try harder"... to ... "God isn't here to tell you how to fix yourself, He's here to tell you that only He can fix you."

Have you studied the doctrine of the Imago Die? Do you know what it really means that you are made in God's image?

In this episode, I unpack the unseen qualities that humans have that make us "like God." Not equal, but similar, in nature, and how they point us toward both our purpose and our "whole self."

As so many people search for purpose and seek to live "authentically," the doctrine of the Imago Die gives us succinct and satisfying clarity.

A first look at the question, "Should Christian women trust themselves?" and if so, how? In regards to what?

Do you find yourself doubting if you have what it takes? Maybe getting lost in too many good options or paralyzed by the opinions of others? Even naturally confident women can lose their self-trust if they make a big mistake.

There is a sweet combination of trusting God and trusting yourself (believing in how He created you) that is foundational to being able to live and create the life you want.

Pull up a chair and let's chat. I'll give you my thoughts on why, yes, I believe women of faith, do need to have some faith in themselves and end the podcast with 4 Ways to Build Trust in Yourself.

Sound scary? Maybe too good to be true? Skeptics welcome...

You have needs every day and God wants to, and can, meet them for you. The problem is we've all learned to get our needs met in a thousand other ways, and in so doing we are missing out on the power, joy, ease, and connection that prayer is meant to give us.

In this episode, Rebekah explores Biblical Repentance and its power to do what we simply can not. No matter how hard we try to find a root cause, think through an issue, change our mindset, learn a new way of being, focus on self-care ... sometimes, what we need to do bring about the change we desire to is simply repent.

Is confession a part of your life on a regular basis? It should be. It's a basic tenet of Christianity and yet, we hardly ever think about it as a necessary part of growth or health. This is in large part because we don't really understand what it is. Is repentance simple some vague sense of shame and guilt? Is it beating yourself up? It is apologizing to people?

No. It's none of those things. It is a loving invitation to lay down our weakness and shame and pick up rest, power, and love.

Let's take a quick but deep introductory look at repentance and how it transforms us like nothing else.

Do you struggle to pray consistently? Do you feel like your prayers are powerless, bouncing off the ceiling, or kind of habitual? If what we are told in John is true at all (John 14:13-14 Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it) we should all be praying, all the time... and excited to do so!

Yet, we struggle. We do other things, like journaling, making prayer lists, and "kind of talk to Jesus all day." But for some reason, it still feels like something is missing. Am I right?

As I have begun to search the scriptures and try to relearn how Jesus teaches us to pray (undoing all the task-oriented ways I've been taught to pray) I came to a realization... a way of praying that has made me fall in love with prayer removed all guilt around not being a good "pray-er" and, finally, helped me achieve consistency is praying!

I'm calling this way of praying Intuitive Prayer. In this episode, get an introduction to the concept and be encouraged! Prayer is a gift and a powerful, simple thing to do.... if we just pay attention.

In this bonus episode, Rebekah shares her musings on what a real relationship with God is and why some women are missing it. Bottom line, we must take responsibility for being in a relationship with God, for choosing Him with our will. Anything less is powerless religion. Give it a listen to this soul-stirring episode and then rate, write a review, and share it with a friend.

So, we all know (or at least often hear) that obedience honors God and leads to blessings. But did you also know that obedience fortifies our inner strength and peace in various ways?

In this episode, Rebekah hits on all the things you are thinking: Why is obedience so hard in certain areas? Why does God even really care about things like who I sleep with, if I tithe, and the attitude of my heart? Why is God not "rewarding me" with what I want when I've been obedient? And so much more.

This is NOT a list of dos and don'ts. In fact, get ready to be stirred up in your faith and conviction in a new way and you get permission to surrender to what your soul already knows... that you were made to be under the authority of a good God.

Women tend to fall into one of two categories. They over-evaluate their gifts and abilities (leading to a life of self-reliance, subject to a crash of confidence at any time) or they under-evaluate their gifts and abilities (which leads to a life of insecurity). Neither of these is Biblical confidence.

If we want to be free to rightly feel good about ourselves (a disposition that allows us to live an enjoyable life that it also God and others focused) we must do what we are told to do by Paul in Romans 12:3, “For by the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sober judgment, each according to the measure of faith that God has assigned.”

Listen to this episode get a refreshing look at what the RIGHT STANDARD IS and a few questions to help you deeply reflect and shift your thinking in key areas.

Society has taught us that our confidence (sense of worth) is found in what we look like and our list of accomplishments. Or maybe, if we try hard, we can just change our "mindset" enough to change how we feel about ourselves.

Where is confidence really found and what does it actually FEEL LIKE inside of us? Is it a lack of all fear? No. Is it a lack of all insecurity? No. It is a feeling of being better than everyone else? No. We know what confidence produces, but how does it feel? How do we know if we genuinely have it? And if you do have it, what are you doing with it?

A lot of people think that their circumstances are creating their feelings. Or, that if they could just change their circumstances, they could change their life. However, modern self-help, psychology, and coaching have all embraced the TRUTH (yes, Truth, because it's God's design and idea) that it is our THOUGHTS that largely create our life and our happiness.

In this first two-part episode, Rebekah gives you a concise explanation of how this all works. The episode is perfect for you if you want to begin to take ownership of your life in healthy (Biblical ways) as opposed to clinging to control in areas that are futile (at best) or living a life of victimhood (at worst).

Ahhh approval. Isn't it nice? We all want it. We can say we don't, but we do. We try to gain it in a million ways, but what if the only real way to get it is highly counter-intuitive and not something that we can explain, only feel. Rebekah leads you down a train of thought to help you see (or recall) the reality that we need (approval) and that it only comes from one place.

Doubt is an inevitable part of faith, but are you doing it right? Has anyone ever told you how to doubt so that it roots your belief instead of erodes it? In this episode, Rebekah shares a bit about her own seasons of deep doubt and uses an Old Testament account to show us exactly what we can with our hardest questions and what we can expect from God in return. And why this whole process is critical to confidence.
