As a business owner, wherever in your journey you are, however far you've come, and whatever you've already achieved - we're still human and get faced with our inner critic.
The inner critic is what holds us back and keeps us in a comfort-zone.
Your inner critic can show up in many different ways:
🤯 A voice in your head telling you you don't do enough.
💭 A thought saying you're not worthy or as good as others.
🙅🏼 Resistance towards certain tasks, learning a new skill, or being visible.
⏰ Postponing your work, because of perfectionism or impostor syndrome.
🤷🏻 And even downplaying your achievements, because you don't believe you're worthy of them.
In this episode with Kasia (who also offers a private bonus coaching session to all participants on the Launch & Expand Your International Career Programme) we'll unpack how you you can embrace your inner critic for self-leadership and business success!

Your purpose… what is it really? And how do you find it (back)?
From habits to social conditioning, fears, and comfort-zones, there can be many obstacles in the way of feeling aligned with what we’re meant to do in this life.
Wivi-Anne experienced this firsthand.
Her corporate journey in finance and accounting as a CEO was a whirlwind of stress and overwhelming responsibilities.
In this demanding career, her body began to ache, signaling a deeper imbalance.
The turning point came during a phase of profound fatigue, where she felt disconnected from her inner voice, passion, and purpose. But in her healing journey, she realised that one's inner voice is a constant, guiding presence, always there when we truly listen.
Yoga became her lifeline; her passion and guiding light. Her guide to a transformative path.

Working with my students, I like to keep in touch and check in via Whatsapp.
This way I offer support when life gets in the way and accountability to keep our students on track.
A few weeks back, I receive a message from a student. She described the many things going on life and how it made her lose touch with her soul’s mission to teach worldwide.
This message spoke to me so much because I know that she’s not alone, feeling this way. Life is an eb and flow of emotions and experiences and it’s only natural, we sometimes feel defeated or find ourselves in a place where your next step seems unclear.
I’ve felt this way myself too. Taking on jobs and responsibilities that didn’t fulfil me. Doubting my skills and experience were enough or as good as other teachers. Neglecting my dreams and purpose because it felt like a lot of work.
But speaking from this experience, I also know that it’s not about just about finding a job as a teacher or creating teaching opportunities, it’s about tuning in with your mission and vision and following a career path that suits you. It’s just just finding work as a teacher, but building a career or business model that aligns with your authentic qualities, with your ideal lifestyle and energy levels.
Listen as I reply to her message and save the episode. I hope that in times you feel lost, this love message will gives you a new perspective. A reminder to stay true to yourself. And the drive and motivation to reconnect to your purpose.

Working with my coaching clients, I often hear two incorrect statements that honestly blow my mind... 🤯
'Building a business is expensive!'
Correction: 'Building a business is an investment in your future, wellbeing, sense of purpose and fulfilment.' 🌿
'To build my business, I need a loan or investor.'
Excuse me, may I ask you what for? Have you actually looked into what you need? 🤨
💡 You need to redefine the word investment!
When you're starting out, it's natural to feel uncertain about the investments needed to thrive. You may overthink the cost of building and hosting your website, using an email software, or needing a mic, camera and light to record your classes.
Lack of clarity on your investments may hold you back or make you fear that it takes a long time to pay off.
👆🏼 But here's the thing: understanding the costs and investments of what it truly takes to embark on this path is crucial.
It's the key that unlocks the door to confidently pursuing your purpose in the wellness world. 🗝️🚪
If yours push your dream to build your career and business forward based on false beliefs on what it costs... I need to you join us for our live training today!
Are you ready to plan your year ahead and step into your role as a business owner? 🚀
2024 is around the corner.
A new year gives you the opportunity to do things differently. To grow and evolve. To set new goals or finally go after them.
To kiss goodbye your 9-5 job. Stop teaching 15+ classes a week. Or build a schedule that allows you to enjoy the things you love more (your friends, family, travel, or passion for self-development).
It’s a time to open yourself up to new possibilities - to expand your opportunities, and set intentions that are aligned with your ideal future. And make 2024 the year you do what makes you feel alive. 🌿🌞

As I reflected on this past year, a realised how much my business approach has changed! 👩🏼💻📈💫
Last year's burnout made me realise I lost touch with authenticity. Out of scarcity and an ego of pleasing and overachieving, I blindly followed others' strategies, losing touch with my core values and unique qualities. But from this, I've learned some extremely valuable lessons. 💡
Authenticity as a business owner to me means knowing who you are and honouring where you're at. But also accept that learning never stops, taking responsibility and investing in education and development to fulfil your purpose. 🤍
So, I reflected on what worked and didn't, set clearer boundaries and decided to throw out everything that no longer served me to make room for a fresh slate.
Listen and learn about the 4 major lessons that change the way you'll do business!

In 2019, I embraced my purpose: guiding multilingual yoga teachers to build an international career.
Following my purpose meant I had to learn a lot, because now I wouldn’t only teach, but also run a business! 👩🏽💻
I was excited! But also felt overwhelmed as I took on a new role with tasks and responsibilities I didn’t have experience with. Think of creating a website, managing softwares for automated class schedules, and establishing habits and routine to manage projects. I needed to learn how to attract people on social media and decide in what language I wanted to operate.
There were a lot of decisions to make, but I didn't know which would be right.
You as well, may hear yourself think "What if I make the wrong decision?". 🤯
As a response, you may ask what others would do. Everyone tells you something different, making you question or doubt if it’s all worth it.
I know how much pressure you feel making decisions on your entrepreneurial journey. But, if there’s one thing I learned, it's that ‘the right decision’ always is purpose-driven. 💫
I know you have a life full of experiences that are ready to be brought to life in your purpose-driven career. All you need is to believe in yourself and receive support, structure and strategies to make decisions that feel right!
In this session I’ll share with you how to make purpose-driven business decisions!

Among our community members I see the desire to quit the office job that doesn’t fulfil you; break free from doing what you think you’re expected to do; stop taking on jobs only to pay the bills; or find ways to stop playing small, because your inner critic doesn’t fully believe you’re capable to choose the life you want (yet).
I know that you’re more than ‘just’ a yoga teacher and that you have a package of skills, experiences and expertise that make you you. A package that you can turn into your business or career. To build the life you want, experience freedom and fulfilment and do purpose-driven work.
Today, I want to elaborate on our session of last week, where I explained how to unite your authentic qualities. Specifically, I want to dive into how you can revolutionise your purpose to build a sustainable international yoga career.
In this episode, I want to help you shift your perspective and build your career with intention, nurturing a lasting impact.
Break free from the conventional path and explore a deeper understanding of the elements that set you up for success.

Last week, one of our students asked me: ‘How do I know if I’m ready to start for myself?’ 🤷
Right now she works an office job that doesn’t fulfil her.
She, like most of you here, has a big passion for teaching yoga. She wants to quit the job she only does to pay her bills, so that she can live her purpose and teach yoga full-time. But, this transition feels scary and unsafe, making her wonder ‘How do I know if I’m ready?’.
You may find yourself in a similar situation to this student. 🤔 You have a burning desire to teach yoga full-time, but fear and uncertainty hold you back.
I want to help you understand what it takes to start your entrepreneurial yoga teacher journey and give you clear action steps to work with.
This training will guide you through the process of:
✨ understanding your inner calling
🙌 breaking free from self-doubt and limiting beliefs

Today, it’s easier than ever before to become your own boss. Especially for yoga teachers, starting an entrepreneurial journey opens up a world of opportunities. 🌍✈️🌅
When I embarked on this journey myself about 5 years ago, I had no idea what I was doing or how to do it.
What I had very clear for myself was that teaching yoga classes alone wasn’t going to fulfil me. I had an extreme drive to help yogis and teachers expand their career opportunities by learning English and the business tools to build and expand their own international careers.
I wanted to help others, while at the same time have the freedom to work whenever and travel wherever. To work on my terms, sharing and teaching what I’m most passionate about. I knew I had to break free from teaching saturated class schedules, which for me were a combination of English and yoga classes. And grow the courage to quit the safety of my monthly payrolls 🙅🏽, but start for myself. 🙌🏼
In the next months, I’ll share more like this to help you become your own boss too!
Expect to learn about the tools and systems I’ve tried; what works and what doesn’t. I’ll help you prevent making the mistakes I made. And I’ll share the elements that will help you build the foundation of your own international career so that you too can quit the job that doesn’t fulfill you and instead experience freedom and fulfillment by sharing your passions within the field of yoga and wellness. ✨🤞🏽
I’m here to support you transition from being a teacher to business owner with ease; offering clarity, structure and strategies! 🚀
So today let's first speak about the transition!
My intention is to help you build awareness of the shifts you have to make becoming a thriving yoga business owner. 🤗
P.S. If you’re ready for more, stay tuned for the details about our upcoming workshop series: "Launch your international career: yoga business foundations”. This will be your opportunity to dive deeper into the world of entrepreneurship and set yourself up for success in 2024! 🌏

Those that have been with us for a while know how much I stress authenticity. But if you're new to our community, I want to quickly explain why it's my biggest aim for you is to teach with authenticity:
The number one thing that will boost your confidence is the ability to express yourself truly. 🪄
That means knowing who you are, your principles and boundaries, embracing your accent, and choosing the words that match your personality, interests, style of voice, and style of yoga.
Learning 'the right words' goes much further than learning yogic vocabulary or applying correct grammar rules. A fast fix doesn't exit. It takes practise and open mindedness to repetition.
No one will do the work for you, but I can guarantee that the clearer you are on the words you actually need, the easier it'll be to stay focussed and disciplined.

Imagine you're teaching a yoga class in English, and you want to guide your students effectively, but you're stuck with inaccurate translated cues.
Or perhaps you wonder, "Why don't my students do what I cued when I say..." 🤯
Have you ever found yourself in this situation? You're not alone!
Cues go beyond instructions. They don't only guide movement but also offer opportunities for exploration. 🪞✨ Cues should be given with intention to communicate effectively and compassionately.
However, when learning to teach in English your cues may turn into direct translations.
Direct translations can be inaccurate, non-inclusive, and inauthentic. 😳
The words, phrases, or cues you use can get lost in translation, leading to confusion or misinterpretation by your students.
That's why in this training, I'll help you break free from common language challenges to focus your vocabulary learning on what you genuinely need. By doing so, you can learn to express yourself authentically and confidently in English. 🧘♀️
Together we'll unpack the things that influence your translation process. Including the unique language and terminology specific to yoga, but also grammar, word sorts, and sentence structures.🌟

What do you know about the '90-Day Year'? 👀
As a dedicated teacher and ambitious yoga business owner, I want to say yes to every exciting opportunity. I have lots of ideas and once it’s in my head I want to get it done. My calendar and to-do lists often overflow. 😵💫
At the end of 2021 this lead to burnout which meant I had to cancel my classes, workshops, and social life for 4 months. I was devastated and thought this setback would ruin my career. I thought my students would lose interest, forget about me and move on with a different teacher. I’m not afraid of competition, but I do love my students and I didn’t want to lose them. 😰
In this time, I learned to reorganise myself. To say yes to new projects, but trust ‘divine timing’. To be patient, but stay committed and work on one project at the time. I also discovered Todd Herman's '90-Day Year' concept. The idea behind it is that you break down goals and plans into 90-day cycles instead of a yearly planning. The beauty of this for us as yoga teachers is that it allows us to work with the seasonal cycles in nature. 🌿🌞🍁❄️
Why am I sharing this?
Because I know that you are driven and ambitious too! 🔥🌈
That you have big plans and goals for building your yoga career!
You want to turn your 'hobbies' into paid activities so that you can quit the job that no longer fulfils you, but make a profitable income sharing your passions for yoga and wellness. To make that dream a reality, you need clarity, structure and discipline.
Building a career out of your passions doesn't happen by accident, it requires you to do some work. What that work means for you personally depends on your goals. 📍But, what I can help you with today are some time-management tools to avoid overwhelm and spend your energy wisely.
know that I'm here to guide you and meet you on every step in your continuing education journey. 🤗
Whether you just finished YTT, are ready to teach in English too, or know it’s time to make a bigger impact and reach a global audience, I'm here to help you create your ideal yoga career!

When I completed my Yoga Teacher Training, I felt inadequate and unprepared to call myself a yoga teacher. The amount of information left me feeling overwhelmed. I realised that teaching yoga required a whole new skillset. From mastering the vocabulary for effective cues to understanding anatomy and body mechanics. I had to learn how to craft sequences adaptable to every student and read the energy in the room, as well as adjusting class plans to student requests and answering questions I didn't always have answers to.
Teaching yoga is so much more than giving cues and instructions. 💫
We're not alone in underestimating the journey to becoming a yoga teacher... but I also know how fulfilling, rewarding and satisfying it feels to finally feel confident about who you are, what you teach and have your students leave your class already excited to join the next. 🤩
That's why I am dedicated to empowering you. 💪
You know that our mission is to make your international career a reality. We're here to help you overcome from self-doubt and linguistic barriers, and navigate the challenges of building your yoga business.
We've seen our graduates pursue incredible careers, from yoga-safari businesses to online memberships, coaching programmes and retreats abroad. The possibilities for your career are endless and it's my job to help you break free from conventional expectations.
I want you to discover a path that aligns perfectly with your lifestyle, energy, and vision. 🪄
With 1.5 billion English speakers globally, the sky is truly the limit when you teach yoga in English. 🌍

How confident do you feel about creating a sequence? 👀
Do you catch yourself thinking:
'I wish my sequences were more inspiring, they lack imagination'
'I always teach the same sequence, because it's the only one I know well'
'I wish I knew how to theme my classes so I could teach more than just the asanas'.
'I want to teach using more spiritual elements, but I feel stuck designing a sequence'.
I know that you may feel this way, because most yoga teachers feel this way after finishing YTT.
You're oversaturated with knowledge, but don't feel ready to use it. You feel inadequate to even teach the simplest things. Apart from not knowing the right vocabulary to cue, you may feel that your sequences lack structure. You improvise but actually don't know what you're doing. All of this can make you lack confidence in your teaching skills as a whole.
Therefore, to keep my promise of helping you teach with confidence, I decided that apart from learning the right words to cue effectively, our courses need more. To me that means training and practice opportunities to improve your sequencing techniques and gain the skill to build a well rounded and transformative class experience for your students.
We don't focus on English alone! 🧐
The Teach Yoga in English Journey is an all round continuing education programme.
Some of the teachers that joined before were surprised with what they learned. They expected an English course, but in reality received so much more than that.
Apart from language and communication I offer you the chance to learn, develop and improve your overall teacher skillset.
You'll develop your authenticity and ability to write, design, and theme expert sequences.
Sequences that you can use again and again without feeling repetitive. And sequences that you can adjust to your students' needs on the spot. See it as your YTT 2.0 (which even includes 50 continuing education hours on the Intensive programme)!

Every teacher is unique and so is the way you express yourself!
As a yoga teacher your authenticity is one of the most important factors for genuine communication and deeper connections with your students.
When starting to teach yoga, you'll soon realise that the way you speak is the gateway to effective classes and student engagement. And if it's your goal to teach yoga internationally, you don't only want to develop your communication skills, but also optimise your language knowledge, grammar, and word choice.
If you're a proficient speaker, this requires you to gain an understanding of the way words can be perceived based on a person's cultural background, first language, and individual experiences. 💡
If you're an English learner yourself, this requires you to learn the vocabulary to express yourself clearly and effectively and that matches your style of voice. 📖
In this training, I help you hack 5 grammar points to optimise your overall communication.
As a part of our community, you're not alone in the process of optimising your communication! 👀
If you want to dive deeper into this topic, check out the Teach Yoga in English Journey.
This is a 6-month all round continuing education programme in which I take you on the journey of becoming a confident English speaking yoga teacher to build your international teaching career to teach worldwide, online or abroad! 🌏💜

The teachers in our community are working hard on building their international teaching career.
There are teachers that:
So let me ask you... What does your ideal teaching career look like?
Right now, you may lack the structure and clear steps to making your ideal career a reality. It can feel overwhelming, intimidating or even impossible. I get it - it takes some work, but having helped hundreds of multilingual yoga teachers pursue their dreams, I have gained a lot of insight into what it truly takes and I know it is possible for you too! 🚀
I don't believe in overnight success and I certainly don't believe that there's only one way to Rome.
I believe that everyone's unique. You have your own experiences, approach, learning style, commitments and unique goals.
But I do believe that there are some essential steps and those I'd like to share with you today.
The way you'll apply these steps require you to do some inner work. It's your responsibility to find the ways that suit you, because that way I can guarantee you'll stay focussed, motivated and disciplined to making your international career a reality and super fulfilling.

Every day is an opportunity to start something new or make changes.
The topic of today’s episode is inspired by some conversations I had in the last few days.
Many people (clients, co-workers, and friends) I spoke to said they feel stuck and doubtful in the last weeks. They feel disconnected and lost causing them to live on autopilot and neglect their goals.
They also described that deep down, they know they want to do something more meaningful. They want to grow, make progress, and feel more fulfilled, but find it difficult to make changes or are afraid that what they want will cost a lot of work or is impossible for them.
You may recognise you feel or have felt this way too. So today, I want to make space to help you reconnect to your path so that you can grow in your role as a yoga teacher and navigate the changes that come with it with more ease.

The fear of speaking English is a common obstacle among language learners!
Expressing yourself in a language that’s not your own can make you feel extremely uncomfortable.
You may…
• Doubt you don’t know the right or enough words
• Fear people judge you on your accent or pronunciation
• Speak slow and feel bad about having to make people wait
• Be afraid that you sound childish and people think you’re less intelligent
All these things cause you to hold back and postpone whatever your goal of speaking English is. For most of you here, it causes you to delay your international career.
Because if you don’t learn to speak and practice to develop your speech for teaching yoga, you’ll keep…
• Postponing to look for jobs abroad
• Declining collaborations with people that don’t speak your language
• Saying no to international teaching offers like retreats
So, let’s dive in and find how you can overcome the fear of speaking English; feel comfortable, capable, fluent, and even yourself!
And with that, pursue your dream to teach yoga internationally!

Today, let's chat about language and communication errors!
Specifically, I'd like to share 5 mistakes I see or hear almost every non-native English speaking yoga teacher make.
Mistakes are inevitable and I actually encourage you to make them. Making mistakes helps you get out of your comfort-zone. By making them you overcome shyness and can find out what you can do or say differently to express yourself clearer and more effectively.
But sometimes, we aren't aware of the mistakes we make and people 'forget' to tell or correct you. So, in this episode I want to help you understand what you possibly say wrong when teaching yoga in English, so that you can improve your communication with your students during and beyond your classes.

After you’ve created your class schedule, set up your space to teach and start attracting new students it’s wise to establish your business politics, because you want to be prepared and protect yourself.
It’s possible a student gets sick or unexpectedly has to change their plans which means they could cancel last-minute.
It’s also possible students expected something differently from your classes or services or aren’t happy with their results.
All of these things can cause unnecessary obstacles if you haven’t set up your refund and cancellation policies. So in this episode, let’s have a look at what type of things you can consider to cover yourself for these types of unexpected or unfortunate circumstances.
Expect to learn about what:
What type of yoga business suits you?
Later this year, I’ll host a pilot course to help you create and set up your international teaching career!
In that course we’ll look at all the things it involves to create your own offerings such as international retreats or online programmes, your visibility and how to attract students, but of course, your money mindset, refund and cancellation policies will be part of it too.
If you’d like to find out what type of yoga business would suit you, take the quiz to find out your most ideal business model!

This month, I already shared how you can find teaching opportunities and guide to online teaching, but for this episode I've invited a special guest to share how to start your digital yoga teaching journey (even if you've just finished your YTT).
It could be that you want to start by teaching your friends and family, or that you already have some students, but want to make your classes more accessible to them. Maybe you're starting from zero. Wherever you are, what's important when starting your online teaching career is that you build your online presence first!
Joost Gielen is the founder of Momoyoga and has years of experience helping teachers build their own (online) yoga studio.

In May, I shared with you 3 tricks to reprogramme your mindset for a lasting career.
In this training I focussed on ways in which you can transform the fears and limiting beliefs that stop you from believing in yourself, your skills, experience, and expertise. All of that with the aim to help you build a lasting career.
Thoughts and limiting beliefs cause you to lack confidence on a mental and emotional level. However, some of you describe to also suffer from the common 'chicken-or-egg situation'. And it goes like this:
"I know that to gain confidence in my teaching skills I need experience, but to gain teaching experience, I need to build confidence first."
Does that sound like you?
Then you may ask, where do I go from here?
In this episode I will give you all the answers and a clear idea of where to start. I'll explain how to gain practical experience to help you build confidence so that you gradually buildand expand your own career.
Expect to learn:

In this episode, learn about Carlos' English and yoga journey; why he became a teacher and what he learned working with Enga.
About Carlos:
I'm a young man who was born and raised in Maracaibo, a beautiful city with a gorgeous lake in the west of Venezuela. I don't like to use any labels to describe myself, but I'd like to share with you that I'm often defined as a knowledgeable, empathic and honest person; even though sometimes I can be straightforward and lazy since I'm just a human being with virtues and defects. And as many people these days I've changed careers from becoming a Mechanical Engineer, to an English Language Teacher and now I add to the list being a Yoga Instructor. If there's anything else that you should know about me, it's that you can count on me whenever you're in need of doing something to get better for you, or whoever we can help together.

Over the past weeks, you've heard me talk about teaching beyond the asanas. I want you to feel confident teaching asana, but also offer more than that: a well-rounded experience!
One way to add more value to your classes and offer these 'well-rounded experiences' is... adding mindfulness and meditation practices!
Writing scripts for mindfulness and meditation practices, as a non-native English speaker, teaching in English, requires you to learn metaphorical language or language for imagination. Learning this type of language is the next level in your language learning and takes some time. But just as it requires skill, knowledge and practice of vocabulary, metaphors and imaginary language you can learn!
In this episode I'll explain how you can add mindfulness and meditation practices to your services and offerings.

In this episode, I’d like to share with you the missing piece to your international career.
Actually, there are a few missing pieces, but the first and most important one, as you can guess now, is receiving support and guidance with finding and developing your own voice (even more so, if you want to teach in a foreign language).
Finding your voice is step one of the 6-step process to becoming a confident and authentic English-speaking yoga teacher.
Your voice, as they call it in yoga, is the way you speak and what you communicate. This includes your tone of voice and also the type of language you use. You may have heard of the terms ‘use your voice’, ‘authentic voice’, ‘finding your voice’.
All of this refers to the development of becoming and expressing yourself as you are. The way you communicate and what you communicate. When finding your voice in a foreign language, it also refers to learning the type of language that matches your teaching style and personality, so that you can stay true to your natural way of being and communication, even when teaching in English.
It can be intimidating to teach in a foreign language, but since you’re here. I know you have a passion you want to share with the world. It’s time to do the work and kiss goodbye all your fears and insecurities.
Because remember, ’Teaching yoga in a foreign language is a sign of bravery!’
In this training, I'll share 7 steps to overcome practical challenges and common fears that stop you from finding your voice!

In episode 118, I shared with you the mindset shifts needed to feel capable of teaching yoga.
I spoke about the reason 'why' you feel you aren't ready to teach yoga and unpacked 4 things that may cause you to lack confidence.
All of them are limiting beliefs.
It starts with a thought, which then makes you feel a certain way, which provokes another thought, and boom ... you’re in the cycle of negative thinking, doubting your skills, and feeding your own insecurities, which is absolutely not necessary!
As I finished that training, I realised that there's A LOT more I’d like to share about this topic so in this episode, I want to continue and give you 3 practical tricks to reprogramme your mindset for a lasting career.
Expect to find out
• How to leave the chicken and egg situation and actually get out there
• How to find safe teaching opportunities that will help you build confidence and feel capable
• 3 ways to overcome limited and negative thinking and shift your thoughts outward rather than in
P.S. Are your English language skills the reason for you to postpone your career?

Time and time again I hear from teachers they're postponing their teaching career because they 'don't feel ready'.
The feeling of not feeling ready is caused by a negative thought pattern that's ruled by fears, lack of confidence, overthinking, or high expectations.
You became a yoga teacher for a reason. The reason why may not be ultra clear to you right now, but I bet it'll be as soon as you actually start teaching.
It's time to get out of your shell!
In this episode you'll discover what's holding you back and shift your mindset to feel capable of teaching yoga and build a sustainable career.
PS Are your English language skills the reason for you to postpone your career?

When teaching yoga in a foreign language you're faced with many challenges.
First of all it takes time to find your voice and learn vocabulary to cue and instruct effectively.
The next challenge is to form sentences that are easy to understand for your students, easy to remember for you, but also clear, concise, accurate, and inclusive.
For that you need to have knowledge of three things:
In this training, I'll help you revise your grammar usage and knowledge for effective cues.
To enhance your grammar knowledge for effective cues

The word 'outdated' refers to things that are old-fashioned.
Usually, old-fashioned is a word that describes something that is ancient, antique, obsolete, or out of date. Stuff that’s made in a different age; from materials we no longer use; things that aren’t anymore produced, or because we’ve found faster, more innovative ways. Just as production and consumption make advances, so do we people and so does language.
In the past you may have heard or learned certain cues. They made a lot of sense and you may have even started using them in your own classes. By now, you’ve heard them so often that you don’t even question the words anymore. However, due to social advances, research and revision, some of the cues you may use today are no longer accepted. Instead this type of outdated language is considered
• ineffective
• inaccurate
• non-inclusive
• offensive
With this episode, I want to help you understand why some cues are no longer safe to use and how you can recognise similar phrases to make your cueing language up-to-date and appropriate.

Every day, I get messages from people to ask me about ‘how to choose the right words' for teaching yoga in English.
Learning a foreign language takes time and from time to time it can be confusing.
To make a language your own and feel confident teaching/speaking in it, there’s a lot to think of, remember, and study. Especially in the beginning, I can only imagine how overwhelming it is trying to learn everything at once.
In this episode, I won’t explain all the words you need to know. Instead I want to help you ‘unlearn’ 3 words you no longer want to use teaching yoga in English. I'll explain a little bit about the difference between English grammar and yogic language and I’ve got a little task for you to think about words and phrases that you can use instead.

Many teachers in our community complain that their Yoga Teacher Training didn’t prepare them enough to write sequences or that they didn’t receive enough practice time to learn to write them. And, I know how much your ability to write high quality sequences would boosts your confidence.
Themed sequences that feel logical and intuitive.
Sequences that...
Or simply put, sequences your students love to practice, and you love to teach.
Sequencing is a skill and just as learning vocabulary, it requires practice. On the English for Yoga Teachers Course, I’ve dedicated an entire module to learn, develop, and practice your sequencing skills. It’s one of my favourite modules, because this is where I see most of our teachers make massive progress in their confidence building and owning their authentic expression as a yoga teacher.
But what really is sequencing?
What does a sequence consist of?
And what is a well-rounded sequence?
In this episode, I’ll give you answers to all those questions!

Everyone’s learning process is different. Learning processes differ depending on for example:
• the type of thing you want to learn
• your experience with the topic so far
• the methodologies and learning techniques you’ve been taught to use in the past
Some sign up for courses to work towards a specific outcome in a container, finding support in sharing their journey with their classmates. Others go for coaching or mentoring to receive 1:1 or personalised support. And again others like a more independent approach and try to figure it all out by themselves.
Whatever your learning strategy looks like, it can be that you:
• Don’t know really know where to start or how to continue
• Feel overwhelmed with all the different resources, materials and courses available and don’t know which is right for you
• Get stuck because you focus on things you don’t actually need by using old-fashioned learning methods that don’t (longer) work for you
• Feel alone, because you don’t have anymore to share your progress with
As an avid learner of anything to do with yoga and foreign languages, I’ve explored many different learning strategies. Some worked, some didn’t, and years back I thought it’d be the same for everyone.
However, teaching English as a foreign language has taught me that the opposite is true. Everyone has a different way of absorbing and processing information, so I’m aware that there’s no one-size-fits-all.
I love exploring this topic and it’s my passion to help you optimise your learning journey. So, having helped hundreds of yoga teachers and English learners navigate their journey I realised that there’s one thing that truly works for all: personalising your learning journey!
In this training I’ll take you through the 7 ways to optimise learning English for yoga!

Learning a foreign language comes with unique challenges.
Depending on your mother tongue, some languages may be easier to learn than others. But, even when the roots or origins of two languages are the same, vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, and cultural aspects are different.
Most of the time, the purpose of general language classes is to help you pass exams. This is unfortunate when you want to learn a language for teaching yoga. The language aspects we use in a yogic setting are very specific and very sensitive. General language classes usually don’t provide you with the knowledge and skill practice you need to teach yoga in a foreign language.
So, yoga teachers that have never studied language for yoga classes often make mistakes that can
• cause physical and emotional harm
• damage your student-teacher relationships
• cause a lot of confusion
In today’s training I want to discuss with you three of the most common language mistakes I see teachers in our community make. My aim is to help you analyse your language use and find out what you can improve it to
• make yourself understood better
• guide your students with more compassion
• strengthen your student-teacher relationships

Cueing is the art of verbally guiding students through your yoga asana classes.
It includes all the words, phrases, metaphors and expressions you use to teach.
Now, imagine teaching yoga in a foreign language…
Knowing the correct terminology for body parts, verbs, and language for directions and movement can be quite a challenge.
Then understanding which words are inclusive and non-offensive requires study and real-life experience.
And when you finally know the right vocabulary, forming sentences that are quickly understood by your students and easy to remember for you is the next step.
As you can tell, cueing isn't something you learn in one day and mistakes are easily made.
In this training, I'd like to help you become aware of 5 cueing mistakes that are commonly made by multilingual yoga teachers. This awareness will help you:
• analyse what language aspects you can improve
• optimise your verbal communication to strengthen your student-teacher relationships
• guide your students with compassion

When I did my first yoga teacher training, I learned the hard way that the language we use in a yogic setting isn’t the same as what we learn in general language classes. At this point I was already very fluent in English; I had a C2 certificate and even taught English as a foreign language to students from all over the world.
I did not once think that I would have language challenges doing my yoga teacher training in English. My level of English was proficient, but having a conversation about yogic topics, let alone cueing a yoga asana class was something completely new.
In the very beginning, I felt defeated and doubted my skills.
It made me feel as if I had to start learning all over again. But then I realised it had nothing to do with my language skills, it simply was because my studies and daily conversations had never been in this area.
Thankfully, I was an English language teacher so I could transfer the skills and knowledge I gained teaching general and exam English, to teach myself the language I needed for teaching yoga. I spent hours and hours learning, studying, observing, and improving.
Realising that the need for language and communication training among yoga teachers was high, I did more yoga teacher training and eventually developed a framework to help you: non-native English speaking yoga teachers, learn the language you need for your job, so that you can:
• Teach with confidence
• Speak with authenticity
• Strengthen your student-teacher relationships.
Based on my experience guiding hundreds of yogis learning to teach yoga in English as a foreign language, in this training I want to share with you 3 steps to help you understand:
• Where to start teaching yoga in a foreign language.
• What to do to save time
• How you can make your learning journey personal, effective and enjoyable!

The biggest obstacle when learning anything is lack of confidence.
Think of when you're learning a foreign language and feel embarrassed about your pronunciation.
Or learning to teach yoga and doubt your cues and instructions are effective and easily understood.
Imagine learning to teach yoga in a foreign language and the fears around both your speaking and teaching skills come up.
When you lack confidence it's possible that you
• hide
• stop trying
• avoid things you find challenging
But if your aim is to teach yoga in internationally, in multiple languages none of these things help.
Instead, I want to help you teach with total confidence and share your passion for yoga without doubting yourself.
If you recognise this challenge, join me for this training to find out about 3 key tools that help you boost your confidence teaching yoga in a foreign language and you can easily start doing today!
And check out our FREE resources that help you boost your confidence in your teaching skills!

Every year is full of new learnings!
To fully be present with what arises... what needs to be seen... and prepare for growth...
I believe we need intentional reflection on 'what actually happened' and 'how we got there'.
For me personally, 2022 was an extremely challenging year.
I started the year feeling completely burnt out, not being able to do anything for 3 months. I separated, moved countries, went back into therapy and did A LOT of work on myself.
Even though I felt defeated, triggered, tested... I know it was something I had to go through to experience 'break through'.
Break through was needed to keep doing what I do... helping you create the career you dream of!
Whether it's by improving your language and communication skills or business knowledge.
I met heaps of incredible people that inspired, supported, and encouraged my growth.
I had tons of new experiences, 'aha' moments, transitions, and signs that activated my intuition and made me make life changes (which I'll share with you tomorrow)
So, in this live training, I'll tell you a little bit about what happened for me in 2022, what I learned and how I dealt with the challenges life threw my way to step up and overcome obstacles that limited my growth (and career path).
I hope you see this as an invitation to receive the tools to intentionally reflect on your year too and prepare yourself for intuitive goal setting!

Every year, around this time, I check in with how things are going in my business...
I check in with my values and 'reason why'...
I examine our purpose and if the actions we take match it...
I acknowledge mistakes...
I look at what and how to improve...
And, I set new goals!
These goals often include investments too. Investments in studies, coaches, software, and programmes.
The reason I do it at this time of the year is that the biggest sales of tech, software and programmes is happening very soon. And if you're in business, you know that these investments add up, so why not take this chance and save a little money!
You may already have a wish list of programmes and software to invest in, so in today's live training I want to help you reflect and analyse what you truly need to thrive in your next year in business!

Without partnerships and collaborations I would never make the impact I'm making and experience the success I have today'.
I'm so immensely grateful to myself that from early on in my business, I took action and went out there to establish partnerships and collaborations. And so grateful too, for all the opportunities these partnerships and collaborations opened up for me after (and still do).
Joint efforts have endless benefits and can cause your business to grow organically, very fast. You as one of the partners have the opportunity to leverage your expertise, but at the same time you’re introducing your audience to another party they can benefit from. Whatever your partnership or collaborations looks like, they can add immense value to the way you and your business are being portrayed and perceived.
So in today's training let’s have a look at some invaluable reasons why you need to partner up and collaborate to experience massive growth in your business or career!

You may have a wish list of programmes and software to invest in (check out episode 101), but before you spend all your money on things you don't actually need, I think that it’s wise to consider your business plan/model to invest wisely and plan out your ideal career.
Based on my experience working with many starting business owners, it doesn’t really matter what you create. Building the foundation of your businesses takes quite a similar approach. However, your business model heavily influences your task management, market research, messaging, content creation, and community building.
So today, let's have a look at some business models to for you to consider. During this session, I'll also give you some journal prompts to help you gain clarity on the business model that best suits you.
Per DMs on social media or email, please share your answers with me. This way I can give you feedback on your ideas, but also hold you accountable for pursuing your objectives.

As Covid is slowly becoming part of our history, I see more and more teachers in desperate need for a change. Some have been blocked by a type of fear or scarcity mindset until now, but I see that at least those in our community are starting to dare to dream bigger, plan ahead and are willing to leave their comfort-zones.
Being a self-employed yoga teacher comes with a big advantage called FREEDOM!
Freedom to choose the things that actually fulfil you. From the types of projects you want to work on, to wherever, and with whomever. That means you can do and create exactly that what gives you meaning. The things and people you really love and those that feel aligned with your purpose.
But how to do this for some still is a mystery, so in today’s training I’d like to talk about how you can attract and create more job opportunities so that you can finally make a living of sharing what you love the most.

What do you know about the concept of flow?
I know we use it in yoga class all the time, but what does 'flow' mean in your daily life and business approach?
In the past weeks, I've been reflecting on the concept of flow a lot. And I don't believe it's a coincidence that in the classes I've taught these weeks, the concept kept popping up too.
It’s possible that right now, you feel frustrated, annoyed, overwhelmed, self-critical or even demotivated. That you doubt you're doing the right thing, don't know how to continue or where to go next. If that's you, I'd love for you to join me during our live training today and speak about the concept of flow and how it helps you create a life and business with more ease and contentment.
I want to take you through a quick exercise to practise listening to your intuition and strengthen your ability to connect to the concept of flow.

Do you feel like you could be more productive?
Do you feel stuck postponing your goals because you...
... don't know where to start?
... don't have enough students?
... don't have enough experience?
.... fear there's too much competition?
Procrastination is one of the most common challenges among yoga teachers (spoiler alert: I'm familiar with it too).
You may postpone creating your website, social media content, class plans, writing your own course, whatever it is, for some reason you can't find the motivation to work towards your ideas or finish off your projects.
Next to the unpleasant result of it delaying your goals and plans, it lowers your self-esteem and self-belief.
Overcoming it isn't easy, because it requires you to do some work and that work is exactly what you're postponing right now. So it can feel like an infinite loop.
But to offer you a little help, today, I want to share 5 ways that will help you find back your motivation and kiss your procrastination goodbye to stay motivated and achieve your goals.

Cueing is an art. It’s the art of guiding your students into positions or variations that allow them to experience the asana in a way that is beneficial to them, using as few words as possible.
Cueing is communicating clearly and considerately so that you can guide your students’ movement in the moment. These cues must serve your students as individuals even when they’re in a group so that they can find what works in their body.
If you speak too fast, students get lost. If you speak too quietly, students focus too much on trying to hear you. And if you use too many words, students will need to think too much about what you want them to do.
To master your cues, simplicity is the key. What you say and how you say it directly impacts the practice of our students, so it’s really important to pay attention to it.
Now you know that cueing is the art of directing your students into positions or variations that allow them to experience the asana in a way that is beneficial to them, with as few words as possible, in this training we’ll look at how to form instructional cues (active cues) with the four types of words that will help you master the foundation of your cueing language.

Teaching yoga isn't something you learn overnight. Even less so if you want to teach in a foreign language.
Even the most fluent speakers struggle to teach with confidence, accuracy, effectiveness and authenticity. Simply because the language we use in yoga, for most, isn't same as what you use on a daily basis.
Since the majority of your community speaks English as a foreign language, I want to dedicate this training to helping you understand what it takes to teach yoga in English.
Take your journal to write down your notes and let me help you become clear on the 6 steps to confidently teach yoga in English!

As an educator and avid learner, in my classes and coaching sessions I get often asked about the best strategies to speed up professional development. The first time I researched this topic was years ago, when I taught English to adults in Edinburgh, Scotland. In this job position I usually spent 2-4 months with students, fully immersed, to speed up their learning process so that they could use English for their job as pilots, oil rig workers, hairdressers and what not.
Obviously, my work today is completely focussed on language, communication, and business education for yoga teachers - so your needs, aims, dreams, wishes and objectives you have for your career are completely different. However, my experience teaching people from all sorts of backgrounds, and the research I did back then have helped me tremendously supporting you and all the people I’ve worked with in their professional development.
Over the past three years, I’ve helped hundreds of yoga teachers and yoga business owners in their professional development journeys. From simply gaining confidence in their teaching skills, overcoming fears and self-doubt, creating services to teach what they most love to share, to actually helping them build their own business and international career.
What we all know is that everyone is different. My experience shows as well that every journey is different. Every goal is personal and we all have our own challenges and obstacles along the way.
But I do believe that the three things I'm sharing today, will support and speed up your professional development!

The main job of a yoga teacher is to assist students in a journey of self-discovery. You’re not teaching them to tell them what to do but to support them with tools and guidance that suits their goals, wishes, and current experience for deeper connections and self-exploration.
Being a teacher comes with great responsibility. It requires you to be mindful of your language and communication. You'll have to pay attention to who you’re actually teaching and what you can do to ensure that your classes provide them with what they truly need.
Apart from developing your social skills and building student-teacher relationships, you need to become aware of how you instruct and speak to them in a supportive way.
So, in this episode let’s analyse 4 types of cues that support your students.

A common misconception is that to learn how to teach yoga in a foreign language is to attend regular language classes. But, the terminology regarding the different areas the practice of yoga can benefit in life is very specific. To guide your students through a completely transformational experience, you need to have knowledge and the ability to speak about more than just the body.
As a multilingual yogi it can feel extremely discouraging knowing you speak a language, but not being able to express yourself fully in a yoga class. I understand what it’s like to doubt your accent, you’re using the right words and find it challenging to speak with clarity. Or, find words and phrases that make your cues easy to remember.
You may think you’re repetitive and your students find your classes boring. Or you believe that you aren’t clear enough and your cues lack imagination. You want to be able to guide your students in a way that’s accurate, safe, informative, but also inspiring!
It may surprise you that to do so, your accent, fear of repetition and memorising the right words aren’t part of the mistakes I address in this episode. To upgrade your language skills, you need to start with awareness of the five communication mistakes multilingual yogis make in regard to language and mindset - let's begin!

Manifest to your ideal teaching career with intention
Your challenges as a multilingual yoga teacher aren’t the same as that of teachers teaching in their first language. They’re about identity, language, and communication which are both unique and personal. Yet all teachers in our community deal with these same things.
So, in order for me to create an impactful experience, I reflected on all the things I missed in my training and education as a non-native speaker. And that’s when I realised that having knowledge is step one, but the opportunity to embody this knowledge through practice, teaching experience and the help of a community is underestimated.
I came to realise that all the work I’ve put into creating our courses is because I want them to truly make a difference for you.
They are inspiring, motivating and completely personalised to your learning styles and professional goals. They help you transform your teaching voice, techniques, knowledge and skills so that you can create the teaching career you dream of.
So, in this training, I want to help YOU manifest your ideal teaching career with intention.
JOURNAL QUESTIONS FOR ACTIVE GOAL-PLANNING:
How is my year unfolding?
What have I already achieved?
Who played a part in my success?
What positive habits support me?
What negative habits hinder me?
What do I want to accomplish before the year ends?
Set a positive, affirmative intention that reminds you of your purpose and holds you accountable for taking action in direction of your goals!
You can take your time answering them and feel free to write me an email or DM with your reflections.
Always ask for help, support or feedback if you want it!

Cueing yoga is an art! The skill of cueing clearly and effectively has a lot to do with your communication skills, and your ability to understand what goes on in your students' minds while they're moving through your classes.
Great cues don’t leave room for questions, have your students wondering ‘what did my teacher say’?, or students telling you ‘I don’t understand’.
In this episode I’m sharing three foundational cues that you need to know to build on the foundations of your teaching skills. This is a great place to start, even if you’re teaching in a foreign language!

Our standardised educational systems unfortunately focus too much on developing the four skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking), but there's a fifth skill, which I call becoming an independent learner.
As an independent learner, you know how to distinguish passive from active vocabulary and find the resources and learning material that match your personal and professional objectives for learning the language.
Understanding this difference will massively improve your ability to learn yogic vocabulary for teaching yoga in English and speaking about yogic topics with your students and colleagues!
In this training learn the difference between passive and active vocabulary and..

Most language learners say that one of the most challenging things about learning a language is memorising new vocabulary.
Some argue that it’s due to the overload of information we already need to remember. Others say that they’re too old and only young people can memorise well. It may also be a lack of concentration that makes you lose focus. But I believe, it’s the standardised study techniques that aren’t working for you.
In this episode I explain how you can better memorise yogic vocabulary so that you can more fluently teach yoga in English!

Nervousness can be because of many different reasons, but for new or less experienced yoga teachers it’s often because they worry about the way they’re perceived, if the students like them, and how their classes and sequences will go.

Many YTTs don't actually have or give you the time to make enough teaching hours to develop your style, teaching personality and build your teaching foundations. So, it's not uncommon to feel incapable of teaching after obtaining your teaching certificate.
Next to that, getting your first teaching experience, especially during the time of the pandemic has changed. Even more, now that 80% of all yogis, practice from home!
In this episode, I’m sharing 2 ways to get more teaching experience online and/or from home (even when you're working at a studio, gym, or other type of yoga organisation), so that you can teach with confidence and clarity!

To theme your classes you need to decide on a focus or outcome and find some inspiration. Inspiration is hard to find on the days you're struggling, but the good thing is, it's everywhere.
Often, when we get stuck theming our classes, it’s because the theme doesn’t fully resonate to you, it's something you haven't made your own or studied enough, or because it relates to an experience you haven’t fully processed.
In this episode, let me help you with elements to take into account when theming your own yoga classes.

In yoga we often refer to the belly area. For example, to engage the core or stretch the abdomen in Bridge Pose. Both the core and the abdomen are found in the belly area.
Belly, abdomen and stomach are often used interchangeably because all of them are around the same area. However, they have a very different purpose and are cued with very different intentions.
I recommend choosing the term that specifically speaks to what you want your students to do.
Listen to this episode to find out how to choose the best word in a situation like this, to make your class cues clear, consistent and effective.

So, if this period makes you feel unbalanced, too, I want to invite you to listen to this live training.
It’s going to help you practise yoga off the mat during the holidays so that you can enjoy them without guilt or frustration.
Even if you aren’t enjoying holidays soon, it’ll help you the next time you do: everyone is welcome!

Becoming a yoga teacher for many is a very transformational experience. It’s not only the new studies, practices and people you meet, but also introspection and finding out things about ourselves we wish we had known before.
In today's weekly live training, I share what I wish I had known before becoming a yoga teacher.
I'll speak about the things I didn’t know before becoming a yoga teacher. The fact that nobody could give/gave me the answers to these things at the time has made my journey very challenging. I hope that this training will help you gain some insight into everything that happens behind the scenes of this job and most careers as an international yoga teacher. By sharing the answers I needed myself all those years ago, I aim to stop you from making the same mistakes, or having to deal with the same obstacles.

You’ve been considering teaching yoga in English. You’ve got a repertoire of classes and scripts in your own language and believe that your next step is to simply translate them...
I want to stop you there!
Translating words directly is problematic for a few reasons:
Reason 1:
Translation apps are often incorrect, too literal and don’t consider context or alternatives.
Reason 2:
Direct translations can result in confusing, offensive, non-inclusive language.
Reason 3:
A good translation communicates messages, meaning and feelings, not just a line of individual words.
Translating is about communicating the whole meaning of an idea, not the meaning of individual words.
If you want to know how to achieve this for your yoga classes, tune in and find out!

Your job as a yoga teacher is more than just teaching a class. You put a lot of thought into the preparation such as writing your sequences and scripts, creating playlists and collecting mantras, quotes and affirmations to make your classes meaningful. Online and in person you promote your classes, make an effort to inform your (future) students or clients of where they can find you, what you offer, and how this improves their lives. Chances are that you also write a weekly email, entertain your social media following, spend time bookkeeping, and try hard to stay informed about your yogic studies. At least, that’s what you would like to do, but procrastination keeps creeping up on you.
In this episode, I’m looking at why you postpone your yoga teacher tasks and procrastinate and I’m going to explain how this stops your growth.
Finish this training with a the 4 questions to reflect and overcome procrastination.

Before you jot down all your experiences and training and call it a day, reflect on the following questions to really make your CV stand out:
What type of establishment are you interested in working for?
What type of classes are you trained in and willing to offer?
What are the core values or mission statement of the establishment you want to apply for?
Who will be receiving your CV?
What type of qualifications, certificates and (continuing) education have you completed to become a teacher?

What are the Yamas and Niyamas and how can you apply these common yogic terms in your yoga classes?
As yoga teachers, theming your classes can be extremely beneficial to give your students something extra and provoke curiosity. Theming your classes according to the Eight Limbs help your students open up to self-discovery and personal development.
Join Thomas and Annie for a discussion to learn how you could use the first two limbs of Patanjali's yogic system in your yoga classes.
About Thomas:
Thomas Thoroe had a strong sense of spirituality ever since he was a very young child. He started his yoga journey in 1994, when he was a Webber Douglas academy of Dramatic art, and his head of moment was Edd Clark, then the director of the Tripsicore yoga theatre in London.
As an actor and performer his dynamic vinyasa practice has been a tool, to develop and maintain his body, prevent and recover from injury, maintain discipline, and good health as he worked in the performance industry.
When having to overcome serious health issues in his late 20’s yoga became much more than a tool. It became a way of life, and a way to deepen his connection to his spiritual truth.

While it’s true that we can’t cater to all of everybody’s needs all the time in everything we do, we can still increase our inclusivity. Doing anything is better than doing nothing.
Remember that our bodies are unique anyway, so by simply increasing the variation or adaptability of the things you offer, you can increase the number of people who feel represented in your classes.
In order to decide what kinds of options you can choose for the content of your classes, we need to return to a default mindset of ‘Who might this class/instruction/question be challenging, impossible or traumatic for? Why? How can I avoid that?’
Let’s dive into ways of including everybody and every body when teaching English yoga classes while we analyse health conditions, femininity and beauty standards.
Read more about this topic on our blog: Ways to including 'every body' in your English yoga classes.

Inclusivity is a hot topic among yoga teachers. We’re becoming aware of gender, identity, body image, race, ill health and abilities. But, I miss hearing about "us". Our cultural differences based on continents, countries, languages and religion.
In this chat I'll share ways to be more aware about the religion your students may follow and how to acknowledge it in a respectful manner. How the country your students live in might cause you to exclude them. And, how we can prevent that words are 'lost in translation' or miscommunicated!

Today we’re speaking about 5 common mistakes (new) yoga teachers make. As you know, we can only learn and teach from experience and so sometimes it’s necessary to make mistakes. To be honest with you, I believe mistakes are one of the best ways to learn and integrate new skills and knowledge.
This chat helps you analyse your teaching techniques and create awareness around the language you use in class. They’re things many of us do/have done, myself included, but recognising and fixing them will help you become more compassionate and effective yoga teachers.
During our Teach Yoga in English workshop series, I’ll dig deeper and teach you how to avoid these mistakes and what you can do instead. This is a series of 4 workshops series that focus on the development of yoga teaching skills including building a sequence and how to cue effectively, but also how to find your voice and structure your own offerings such as workshops, rituals or a class schedule.
You can find more info about it here: https://engaunite.com/teachyogainenglishworkshopseries/
But today is all about creating awareness and analysing your own teaching style so far. Let's dive in!

In this episode Annchen from @yoga_with_annchen shares her experience with teaching yin to multilingual speakers and why this practice is so beneficial for overall health!
About Annchen:
South African, based in Granada (Spain), my passion is to share what yoga has brought me with others. I started practising yoga eight years ago as a way to build up strength and I discovered that the external change also brought an internal one, helping me to become less anxious. Yoga is now an integral part of my life, helping me to face up to my fears, to be more confident and calmer.
I love teaching Yin Yoga as it’s functional and mindful. As each person’s body is different, I’ll show you how to adapt the postures to your unique body, rather than adapting you to the postures. So, the emphasis for each posture is on the aim or the function e.g. to stretch your hamstrings, rather than what it looks like, the aesthetics. I’ll give you the tools to practise confidently on your own. But it’s not just about what you do with your body, it’s what we do with our mind. Passively stretching and holding postures for several minutes, stills the body, slows the breath and quietens the mind.

Finding your voice is a hot topic among yoga teachers. Coming out of teacher training the world of teaching yoga can feel overwhelming. As multilingual speakers, we can fear speaking in public; set high expectations and put ourselves under a lot of pressure.
In this episode, Thomas shares his experience with us and some very useful tips and techniques as to simply accept yourself for who you are and teach from your most authentic being.
As a performer actor and teacher voice has always been an essential part of my practice. When I was younger it was very hard for me to find my voice. I did not understand the link between being my authentic self and resonating fully with my voice. I found this through chanting, resonating and realising that for my unique vibration to sound I had to be comfortable with my truth and my individual identity, not trying to fit in to what the world around me wanted me to be. This is a continuous journey.

With Laura Ann Pellegrini @ashtangayogaperu.

This month we’re speaking about cleaning and cleansing. It’s something mankind has always done or been interested in. You see it in Eastern cultures such as in Ayurveda, in South and Central America through holistic rituals.
But you can also find it back in our modern society. Think of detoxing, fasting, water cleansing or juice cleansing.
Today we speak about Juice Cleansing with Anka!

Ayurveda and yoga go hand in hand. You’ll hear Ayurveda is described as yoga’s sister science or as a type of yoga. With Ayur meaning ‘life’ and Veda meaning ‘science’, it is also called ‘the science of life’.

The past decade self-care has become a 'thing', but especially during our first quarantine(s) self-care practices turned into a hype.
You drink a glass of wine on a Saturday evening or go for a quick walk during your lunch break.
Despite the fact that these are great remedies that help you take care of yourself, true self-care starts with accepting yourself, practising self-compassion and triggering your curiosity to find the courage to explore the Self.
Are you ready to integrate self-care on a daily basis, so much that you don't even need to 'make time' for it?
Listen here to Yely Staley explain the concept of self-care and find out what you can do to live a healthier, more balanced and self-compassionate life.
And, don't forget to check out her website www.YogaYely.com or find her on social media at @yogayely.

More about Queen:
Queen began her yoga journey in 2015 as a form of self-care. She soon fell in love with the harmonious feeling that came with stepping on her yoga mat. The two very important lessons she learned while exploring yoga was how to use breathing techniques to find peace of mind and to have grace and love for her body.
While deepening her practice, Queen began to use her time on her mat as an opportunity to meet with God through prayer and meditation. She soon realized that through the stillness she began to open her heart and ears to God’s Word which in turn helped her in her battle with depression.
Queen is trained in Vinyasa Yoga, Holy Yoga, and Rocket Yoga. Through her company, Sacred Spaces Yoga, Queen is determined to create offerings where individuals can find serenity, gratitude, and self-love while challenging their bodies, hearts, minds, and souls.
