We are talking about Ecclesiastes 3:1 a time for everything and I will share a little bit more with you on that and just a second, but it's a theme of the seasons of life in Ecclesiastes. The seasons we experience and have, and we go through some things, that are just so challenging but also such a blessing, and the significance as a reflection on the cyclical nature of life and how things are up and down, ebb and flow, mountains and valleys, day and night, light and darkness.

Scripture references: Ecclesiastes 3:1, Psalm 121, Matthew 6:33, Psalm 16:5-11

In this episode, we focus on Matthew 6:33, Seek First the Kingdom of God and its righteousness and all these things will be added unto you.

I had very special guests, Daniel and Aisha Schadrac. They are campus pastors for USF, and I look forward to you hearing about their ministry.

Here's a snippet of our conversation:

I know that the news tries to make the campus seem hostile to the gospel. What it really is that they are resistant to the truth of responsibility "I have sinned and… there's a debt on my head that I have to pay if I don't surrender to Jesus and that Eternal debt." That is an offensive message to share with somebody especially in this time and age where it's "do what your heart wants you to do... Enjoy what you want to enjoy and if I don't agree with it, I don't have the right to tell you." And there's truth to the fact that only God is Judge, but man I want to share with you what he said before you meet your judge, because I don't want you to get judged for what you have said. [Here's an example of what someone has said,] if I know that this building is on fire, and I walk out and don't tell anybody else, I really have to hate them to do that. I know that this building is going down and I don't tell anybody, and I just get out myself. And so, it's the same thing as if I believe that I have the true keys of eternal life. I really have to hate them to [not tell them about Jesus] ...

Stay tuned for more!

Can you believe we're already seven weeks in and we have a couple more episodes to go. Then we'll take a small little break and then we'll be back with another series. I was like, Lord, I really want to do this well. and I feel like God just deposited some things to share with you. I'm super excited to share Mark 12:31 with you. “Love your neighbor as yourself” and I want you to know that the theme of this episode is love and compassion. Do not check out on me yet, okay, because love and compassion is so vital to a Christian walk and maybe you're like, "I don't want to associate with Christians because that doesn't really sound like my thing because there's been a lot of stuff going on and sometimes Christians aren't that nice."

I get it. Just hold on tight because we're not looking at people...

We're looking at the word of God and Jesus is our example... so let's focus on that, and keep that the main thing because that should be our Center and our focus and our source ALWAYS.

In this episode, we discuss Jeremiah 29:11 and its context as a message of hope and purpose. We want to trust in God's plans for our lives, just as God said through Jeremiah's message to the Israelites. There is an assurance of God's plans for our welfare and future. There is comfort and hope found in this promise.

You are here and there is an importance of purpose and meaning in your life. Trusting in God's plans to come to fruition in our lives can bring clarity and direction.

Who needs clarity and direction?!

There have been times in my own life where I had to trust that God would reveal the very next step, not even the next year, but the next step. The challenge is in the waiting, but oh how rewarding the patience and perseverance turns out to be!

You want to remain steadfast in faith (I know it's difficult, trust me) while awaiting God's fulfillment of His plans. I hope the closing prayer bring you encouragement as you listen or watch the latest episode.

The reason why it's so important for us to cast our cares on the Lord because he cares for us (1 Peter 5:7 - key verse) is because the enemy is always trying to come at us, and we're going to talk about that in this episode and more. We're going to discuss finding peace through surrendering our worries to God. Here's something that I heard years ago that have kind of adopted and I share with a lot of people: surrender + obedience = balance; God is the ultimate balancer.

Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength" is the goal here friends but let me back up a little bit and read verses 11 and 12 to you as well. "Not that I was ever in need." Paul says "for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation whether it is full with a full stomach or empty with plenty or little and then it says in that portion of scripture for I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength." Listen to the significance of this source and inspiration; it is pretty Divine friends. If you read the history on Paul and where he is at and learning the challenges that he is facing in the strength that he must draw from Christ. It says that Paul wrote this letter to the Philippians in prison. I don't know if you've ever done any kind of study on what it looks like in a prison in Rome, but I can guarantee you that it was not cupcakes and rainbows. It says Philippi was the site of a key military Victory by Justice Caesar and as a result, it was made a Roman Colony Philippi was the first city in present day Europe where Paul established a church. so, friends This is a big deal. He is writing to the Church of Philippi, and he is saying to them. Hey guys, I'm in prison right now. I know what it's like to live with a lot and with nothing and I know what it's like to have Christ as my strength. For my source of strength and so as we venture to learn a little bit more about what this means for us today and our walk with Christ. I would challenge you to read a little bit more on history and learn that if you are in America listening to this, we really don't have it that bad.

This is episode two of a ten-week episode series sharing verses that helped Coach Bridget's healing journey after the trauma and abuse that she faced in her life, and she wants to share these victory verses with you.

Coach Bridget is excited to share Psalm 23:1 with you. But really, we're kind of going to focus on the whole Psalm 23 because why would we not focus on the whole thing when the title is literally the Lord the Shepherd of his people, this is a Psalm of David King David. Trust and Obey Hymn

1 When we walk with the Lord in the light of his word, what a glory he sheds on our way! While we do his good will, he abides with us still, and with all who will trust and obey.

Refrain: Trust and obey, for there's no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

2 Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share, but our toil he doth richly repay; not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross, but is blest if we trust and obey. [Refrain]

3 But we never can prove the delights of his love until all on the altar we lay; for the favor he shows, for the joy he bestows, are for them who will trust and obey. [Refrain]

4 Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at his feet, or we'll walk by his side in the way; what he says we will do, where he sends we will go; never fear, only trust and obey. [Refrain]

In a world filled with noise, it is easy to overlook the impact of our words and actions. But little do we realize that they shape the course of our lives and influence the lives of others. Today, we explore the significance of being mindful about what we say and do through a biblical perspective.

Our journey of self-reflection takes us back to the wisdom found in the book of Proverbs, chapter 18, verse 21, which states, "The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit."

Every word we speak holds potential; a potential to uplift, comfort, and inspire. But likewise, it also carries the power to wound, discourage, and even destroy. Our tongue can create life-giving connections or sever valuable relationships.

Let us remember that our words have an eternal impact, not only on our earthly relationships but also on our spiritual journey. As followers of the biblical principles, it is crucial to pay attention to the words we choose and the message they convey.

Words rarely stand alone; they intertwine with our actions, breathing life into our character. This brings us to the biblical truth found in the book of James, chapter 1, verse 22: "Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says."

It is not enough to simply speak words of kindness and love. Our actions must align with our words, resonating with the world around us. People are not persuaded or affected by empty words; rather, they are drawn to authentic displays of compassion, gratitude, and empathy.

As believers, we are called not only to speak the truth but to live it. In the book of Matthew, chapter 5, verse 16, we are reminded, "Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."

Our words and actions are the mirror in which others perceive us. They reflect the values and principles we hold dear. Let us remember that we are representatives of a greater power, ambassadors of compassion, and grace here on Earth.

May we always choose our words wisely, mindful of their power, and may our actions be a testament to our faith, shining a light into the world. For in the end, it is through our words and actions that we create a tapestry of love, compassion, and shepherding for others to follow.

Pay attention to your words, pay attention to your actions, pay attention to the impact you have on the world.

Anxiety is a very common problem that can affect anyone at any age. It can be debilitating and can make you feel overwhelmed, stressed, and even physically ill. But there are ways to manage it and calm your anxious heart. In this episode, we will discuss three simple tips that you can apply whenever you're feeling anxious.

  1. Pray

Prayer is one of the most effective ways to calm an anxious heart. It helps you focus on something greater than yourself and gives you a sense of hope and reassurance. You can pray to God, close your eyes, and visualize yourself in a calm and peaceful place. Ask for strength and guidance in difficult times and express gratitude for the love and blessings in your life.

  1. Purge

Another way to calm your anxious heart is to purge your negative feelings. Write down all your worries, fears, and anxieties in a journal or on a paper. This will help you release those negative thoughts and emotions and gain clarity. You can also talk to a friend or a therapist about your feelings, or engage in physical activities that help you release tension, such as yoga, running, or dancing.

  1. Praise

Finally, praise is a powerful tool that can help you shift your focus to the positive aspects of your life. Take some time to appreciate and celebrate your achievements, no matter how small they may be. Surround yourself with positive and supportive people who encourage and uplift you. Focus on the things that make you happy and bring you joy, and practice gratitude for the good things in your life.

In conclusion, anxiety can be a challenging experience, but you don't have to face it alone. By applying these simple tips of praying, purging, and praising, you can calm your anxious heart and find peace from Christ. Remember to be patient with yourself, take things one day at a time, and reach out for help when you need it.

  1. Don't lose sight of the goal: Remembering the ultimate end goal of the promise can help you stay focused and motivated throughout any delays or setbacks.

  2. Continuously work towards the promise: Even if progress is slow, it's important not to stop working towards the promise. Consistent effort and dedication can bring about success in the long run.

  3. Seek support: Surrounding yourself with positive influences and seeking advice and encouragement from friends, family, or a mentor can help provide the necessary support during difficult times.

Overall, it's important to trust in the promises and believe that it will come to pass as long as you stay persistent and focused on the end goal. Jesus says in John 8:32, "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." He is your FREEDOM!

We often focus on the obstacles that stand in our way and the challenges we face, but we must also celebrate the progress we have made toward freedom. This can mean different things to different people, depending on their circumstances.

By celebrating with faith, we can cultivate the belief that a better future is possible. We can believe that goodness will prevail even in the midst of struggle, and we can hold hope in our hearts during tough times.

Gratitude is also a key ingredient to celebrating freedom. When we recognize the blessings in our lives, we tap into a sense of abundance and appreciation. We can be grateful for the small freedoms we have, like being able to express our opinions or choose our own path in life. By focusing on the positive aspects of our lives, we create a more positive mindset that helps us to keep moving forward.

Celebrating freedom, even if it hasn't been reached yet, involves faith in the possibility of achieving that freedom and gratitude for the progress made so far. It also involves a commitment to service in the pursuit of that freedom.

Forgiveness is a powerful tool that can lead to freedom and healing in the process of recovering from past hurt and trauma. When we hold onto anger, resentment, and bitterness towards someone who has wronged us, it only serves to poison our own hearts and minds. However, by choosing to forgive others, we can release ourselves from the burden of these negative emotions.

Forgiveness does not mean that we forget or condone the actions of others. Instead, it means that we choose to let go of the past and move forward with compassion and understanding. It allows us to break free from the chains of hate and resentment that hold us back from living our best, abundant lives.

Forgiveness can be difficult and may require time, effort, and support from others. However, once we are able to truly forgive, we open ourselves up to a world of peace, love, and happiness. By freeing ourselves from the past, we can fully embrace the present and create a brighter future. Jesus wants you to bring all of that into the light and let Him heal you!

The 5 A's of Healing are a helpful tool for individuals who are seeking to overcome difficult emotions, traumas, or challenges in their lives. The first step in the process is to acknowledge the issue or problem that needs to be addressed.

Acknowledgment involves recognizing the reality of the problem, naming it, and accepting that it is a part of your life at this moment. This can be a difficult step, as it requires you to face the problem head-on and admit that there is something you need to change or work on.

However, acknowledging the issue is essential for progressing towards healing. Without recognizing the problem, it can be impossible to take the necessary steps to move forward and create positive changes in your life.

By accepting and acknowledging the challenges and struggles, you can begin to identify the root causes of the issue and explore options for addressing them. This can lead to a greater sense of empowerment, resilience, and growth over time. I want to help YOU get there!

Fear can sneak up at different times and it looks like different things. I don't want you to hear fear and be like, "Oh, I'm not afraid." I get it; I understand that.

But I want you to know that when certain things come at you, that you may be looking at fear and not know it. Overcoming triggers that happened after a traumatic event, friends, it's not just that one traumatic event that happened. It is a lot of things that built up to that one significant event and that's what kind of sets things off.

As I journeyed through my own triggers and traumas, I found out that I really needed to do some healing and some soul work. I learned about soul injuries and what that means, and I learned about root issues and how to overcome them.

In this episode, I want to give you tools to be able to help you on your journey and how you know when you uncover those things and you peel back the layers, and how to deal with them.

The fight for freedom and overcoming fear involves breaking free from oppressive thoughts, facing and overcoming personal fears and barriers, and advocating for the rights and liberties of oneself and others. It requires courage, determination, and resilience to challenge societal norms and push for honor and justice. Ultimately, it is a constant struggle and ongoing journey towards true liberation and empowerment.

Small perspectives yield small results, big perspectives yield big results...

I know that seems simple, right? But sometimes it's hard for us to see that or understand that in the situation that we may be facing. But I want to propose to you that you look at things from a bigger perspective because sometimes we get so caught up in what we think should happen. We have sort of blinders on, right? Have you seen the carriage horses walking down the road and they have blinders on? The horse can't see or get distracted. They stay on the route they're supposed to take. That could be a symbolism of staying focused, but that can also be a symbolism of you just looking at a narrow path, and it's not giving you the bigger picture or the bigger picture. A lot of times we find ourselves focusing on the things that Are not necessarily even going to come to fruition or happen. We focus on things like we get anxious about things that could happen. But they never come to pass, right? Let's not narrow ourselves into thinking that things are not going to come to us.

Let's talk about it!

I recently had a live Q&A session within my firewives community with one of my members and we talked about the waiting process. Sometimes, we think that it should be one way or another, but sometimes it's just the fact that we need to be a partner in participation with God. So, maybe we feel like we're in a place where we've prayed about it, we've sat in the silence, we've meditated on it and we've done the things to take care of ourselves. We've tried to focus on reading the word. We've tried to do - you name it. We've tried to do everything and we still feel like we're waiting on what we think should happen, right?

Let's continue the conversation and talk about it!

Thank you for joining me for #todaystalk4yourwalk. We need to be walking in the light and love of Jesus. Are your words kind? Loving? Inviting? Or are they harsh, hateful and disrespectful? Our perspective needs to be through the lens of what God says. Is it truthful, loving, kind? Then speak those words! Our fingers are a weapon lately and need a filter on them. We can’t make posts and comments that are offensive and hurt people. Let’s use our words, spoken or written, to build up others. We are to be salt and light as it says in Matthew. Thank you for joining me on #todaystalk4yourwalk. You ever need to just get out the goodness and blessings of God?! Here’s where Car Recordings are birthed. I forego the fancy microphone (but nice, thank you, honey) and just use what I’ve got! Do you walk and journey through your life looking for God and His goodness? If no, why not? I share about seeing ourselves as God sees us— valued, loved and chosen. Even before you were born, God knew you. He created rest (Sabbath/Shabbat) for US; he didn’t need to rest on the 7th day, he chose to rest for OUR benefit. There’s a reason we are to honor the Sabbath- because He loves us so much that He wants us to experience the blessings of Shabbat. Will you join me in Shabbat? Customarily, Sabbath was honored Friday evening to Saturday evening. That’s my goal, but maybe yours is Monday to Tuesday, or Sunday to Monday. Whatever you choose, be intentional. We play, we rest, no work, God loves us- thanks to Marty Solomon on Bema Discipleship for that insight he shares with his kids. I pray this has helped you and given you encouragement. Thank you for joining me on #todaystalk4yourwalk. Today’s episode is somewhat weighty with the topic of overcoming domestic violence. But I want people to know that this isn’t something they have to endure and it certainly isn’t what God wants for you! You are VICTORIOUS in Christ, a SURVIVOR but stifled, REDEEMED not reduced. The Almighty wants you to have hope in Him and healing by His blood. He paid ALL for you! Make a plan, and get out if you are experiencing abuse. I’ve walked this journey, I know it’s difficult, but YOU have the SAME power that raised Christ from the dead inside of you- use it! Lots of scripture referenced today so get out a pen to write them down, listen again if you’re driving. We’re not talking about the school play ground game. Matthew 6:33 says “But SEEK FIRST the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added to you (emphasis mine).” Jesus makes it very clear, above all else seek Him first. Don’t worry- seek; don’t complain- seek. He knows your needs and will provide them, but he wants you to seek him FIRST. We have a part to play! We are in a relationship, a partnership, with the King of kings, shouldn’t we WANT to seek him first?!? Start your day seeking him in his word. Go about your day talking to him. He wants to hear from you. Also referenced was Ephesians 3:20. His power is at work IN YOU! Allow Him room in your heart and life; He created a whole kingdom for you to reign with Him in glory forever!

Make time for Jesus; He DIED for YOU! John 15:13 says, “There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” Jesus is our friend and therefore has great Love for us, for you my friend! As we learn to be a friend like Jesus, we also need to learn how to live and love like Jesus. 1. Meet people where they are. That’s what Jesus did. 2. Look past imperfections, because we all have them. 3. Remove your expectations. No one can meet them, and you’ll be disappointed every time. I also shared what we took the time to do at Thanksgiving. Thank you for joining me on #todaystalk4yourwalk Episode 18. I don’t know about you, but I know there can be a lot of stress leading up to the holidays. What I want to encourage you to do is to be intentional about holding onto your peace. Give whatever you are going through to God. Matthew 11:28-30 is a great scripture passage to read during this season... We are called to be peacemakers, and God says we are favored by Him when we choose to pursue peace. Having the Prince of Peace in your heart helps to hold onto that deposit from Heaven! Luke 2:14 says we can have peace on earth through Jesus Christ. You won’t find it here, but you can get it, in abundance! If you need help getting through something, please reach out and ask for it. It’s ok to not be ok, but don’t stay that way. Look up the Anti-Anxiety series my pastor started this past Sunday here: https://timgilligan.buzzsprout.com/. Everyone needs some of that in their lives! This is #todaystalk4yourwalk episode 16. I am so grateful that I decided to attend Live2Lead this past Friday. It was presented by John C. Maxwell via a simulcast from Georgia hosted by a local church. It was SO GOOD! I learned so much and appreciated the heart behind the stories and leadership presented. I share the notes and what impacted me during the session, but of course, I add some other thoughts God placed on my heart. I pray this encourages you in your walk and helps you to see God more clearly.

We all face challenges and forks in the road, and most of us have been through similar situations. We are faced with a decision- do I choose God’s way and what His word says? Or do I choose what I think is best? Am I choosing God over myself and the world? I would challenge you to make that decision and question every decision through that lens. I referenced The Hope Quotient and Appointed to Bear Fruit Bible plans. I also referenced the following scripture: Romans 12:2, Proverbs 3:5-8, among others. I pray this encourages you and helps you. Today we’re focusing on wisdom: 1. Where are you looking for it? 2. Are you seeking God’s word for it? 3. Did you ask Him for it? We need wisdom in our tool belt of faith. We need to take it out and wield is against the enemy and his schemes. Scripture referenced: Psalm 111:10, Proverbs 9:10, Ecclesiastes 10:10, John 16:33. You lead well when you obtain wisdom from God. But we don’t keep it to ourselves; we use it to help others and to bring glory to God. Let’s chat in #todaystalk4yourwalk

Are you aware of your calling? If not, are you ASKING for it to be revealed? Do you SEEK after wisdom? Psalm 111:10 says the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Read Isaiah‬ ‭6:8‬ ‭NLT. The Word says you have not because you ask not, in James 4:2-3, but it also says to make sure your motives are in the right place.

“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.” ‭‭James‬ ‭1:5‬ ‭NLT‬‬. Also referenced 2 Corinthians 12:9, Matthew 7:7-8, 6:33. Thank you for listening to #todaystalk4yourwalk

Let’s do something fun today! I call these Jase-isms because our 4-year-old says some of the funniest stuff! We have two boys and they both take after their hilarious, brilliant and super handsome dad. Disclaimer- I do share about Jase’s emergency surgery he had in June, so if you’re listening with your kids just be advised. I’m not graphic but the type of surgery is not a typical one of conversation. I hope you laugh as much as I did recalling these days. Thank you for joining me on #todaystalk4yourwalk

I mentioned The Hope Quotient and Appointed to Bear Fruit plans from YouVersion Bible App. Scripture reference was 2 Timothy 1:7, 2 Timothy: 1-10. I pray this helps you and encourage you. There’s so many people that try to tell you this or that. Or may offer you “advice” but it’s not spoken out of love, truth or grace. I want to ask you... who’s voice are you letting speak into your life? First and foremost, it should be God. But I pray that you have sound, godly counsel speaking to you and over you. If you don’t, find those people that you can call on, that are worthy and fit for your inner circle. Then I would ask you, are you an inner circle friend? If not, why not? Are you speaking words of life or death? Proverbs 18:21 says that the tongue can bring death or life; are you offering life-giving words to those around you? Or are you complaining and grumbling, adding to the darkness instead of being a light? Let’s be the children of light of the Light that we are supposed to reflect! Jesus overcame everything for us to live a life of light, love and life! Let’s chat in #todaystalk4yourwalk

I recently had a conversation with a friend and it made me think about this… Let’s talk about bitterness. It can seethe inside of you without you knowing... take root without you knowing... but that goes with anything the enemy is trying to push in your heart that shouldn’t be there, let alone take root. Then, without notice, it will reveal itself in the ugliest way. Why do I feel this way if I know and trust God? How can they still be here when I thought I got rid of it? What do I do now? Let’s discuss it in #todaystalk4yourwalk

Psalm 65:11 says that God wants to “crown your year with goodness,” and your paths will “drip with abundance,” Even in spite of all that 2020 has thrown at us, He wants to give you His goodness- so much so that it’s DRIPPING with abundance! That means you’ll have leftovers... what you choose to do with all of this is up to you. I choose JESUS and all His goodness! My best friend recently shared three points of what an abundant life can look like. 1. If you need community, seek it out and ask for help. 2. Mistakes are a part of life. 3. Sometimes God will choose to allow things to happen to allow others to step in and help. Seek an abundant life!

Are you walking through life feeling dizzy, nauseous, headaches, feel like you’re falling, having insomnia? I have been experiencing vertigo for the last 10 days. While that is not an uncommon diagnosis, the symptoms related to it were not something I had ever felt all at once. As a RN, I have had patients with this and could only empathize for them. Now knowing all that is involved with the specific type I have, I have discovered ways to turn it around into a lesson. What has God taught me through this? I’ll share with you in #todaystalk4yourwalk
