Anti-racism pedagogy doesn’t mean the erasure of painful history, but to embed teaching practices that encourage understanding and learning with historical context, multiple narratives and empathetic support.
Shades of Noir have designed a transformational Museum Project, putting social justice at the epicentre of the discussion by creating Trigger Warnings for a range of problematic and or challenging artefacts within the collection. These artefacts evidence the historical white dominance of institutional ownership of archival material within the Museum.
We invite you to have discussions at the Window to combat the erasure of marginalised diverse voices and open up dialogue to challenge the historical white canon.
