Welcome to another episode of our Community Health Assessment series! In this episode, we sit down with Michelle Tibbett, a WIC nutritionist at Burke County Health Department to discuss the prevalence of overweight/obesity among WIC patients. We talk about some common risk factors that may lead to childhood obesity, as well as how WIC can help families that may have concerns about their child's weight.

Welcome to the first episode of our new Community Health Assessment series! In 2022, Burke County completed their Community Health Assessment, which is a process conducted every 3 years that identifies the top health-related concerns in the county. This year, the top 3 priorities identified were mental health, substance use disorder, and obesity with risk factors.
