Welcome to 'The Restoration of Masculinity.' You have two choices. To LEAD or to be LED. We are a generation of LEADERS. We are a generation of LIONS that are BOLD in our pursuit of Righteousness. On this podcast we dive into what and who men were designed to be; the truest version of masculinity was Jesus who was both a warrior and a poet, a protector, a servant, strong and sensitive. Men, let's Wake Up from the Coma and Be the Lions that God has called us to be!
In a healthy relationship, partnership is a vital piece of the puzzle. In a world where there is so much inequality, a healthy marriage is one where a God centered equality can exist. Marc, Cameron, and Pete discuss what healthy equality and partnership looks like and what they have done to aspire to a stronger relationship.
As we transition from dating into marriage, often times our pursuit drops off steadily as life settles in and responsibilities increase. It is important to maintain a proactive pursuit in a relationship in order to ensure success. Healthy relationships aren't passive, they are active.
So many of our marriages fail because we as men fail to make our wives a priority. We see our wives as thankless, nagging, complaining partners who are an inconvenience rather than a blessing. What we don't realize is that we are failing to lead and serve in that mindset. We were commanded by God to make our wives and our marriages a priority. We were commanded to love them sacrificially and cherishingly.
Christ was the ultimate version of a man and of strength. We as men often try to be tough and use ego to mask up our insecurities and shortfalls thinking we can fake it till we make it. Unfortunately we fall short and our false identity begins to destroy aspects of our lives until we are a mess and need significant healing and restoration that only Jesus can provide.
We all get tied up in our heads with anxiety and worry. It's that deep weight in your chest where you so badly want to control the outcome or fix what happened in the past. We were never capable of controlling these situations and God commanded us to surrender them. Today we discuss how to live and seek freedom.
It is so easy to feel ashamed at our reality or where we have come from. The lack of transparency that results as we hide who we are often leads to bigger problems and manifestations. The strongest people are those who can play with an open hand and find healing and peace regardless of what they have need through. God gift of restoration cannot take place in hiding.
Jeff joins us to discuss his life's story of growing up in the Midwest and aspiring to success, yet realizing in the midst of it all that it was empty and full of brokenness. His preconceived notion of success was slowly burning he and his wife out and leaving their family a mess until he was able to surrender to the plans God had for his life.
Curt is a successful business leader and Chick-fil-A franchisee who has seen his fair share of life's' challenges. When he was a 7th grader, pornography took hold of him and consumed him in an addictive manner until nearly into his 40's. Join us to hear how he regained control of his life and his thoughts and found renewed purpose and passion in his life.
We are joined today by Christopher who is passionately seeking to take his masters in divinity and become a Priest. Despite his calling, Christopher is bravely aware of where he has fallen short in his masculinity as well as so many others within leadership and how he can be a powerful tool to help lead and inspire others.
As men, we can often be led by our strength and determination rather than by our hearts. This can cause a lot of damage as we mean well but don't show that through our actions. We need to take the example Jesus provided when he was strong yet gentle.
There is so much clarity that men can achieve when they understand how their family of origin impacted the way they see life and how they cope through situations. Family of Origin brokenness is often the biggest wound that men carry on into their adulthood and success can be a distant cry until that wound is healed.
On episode 2, we introduce Marc Lucas who is a long time pastor and faith leader in multiple mega-churches. Marc discusses how he lost clarity on what it took to maintain a healthy intimate relationship with his wife while navigating professional success and pressures.
As we launch this new podcast show, we seek to introduce the show hosts starting with Pete Vanderveen. Pete shares how he lost focus of family and relationships while managing billions within one of the world's largest energy companies. He discusses how he had to find balance and navigate the challenges of life commitment and massive career success.
