This time of year, we hear a lot about the angels appearing to the shepherds to tell of the Savior’s birth.
Who are these angels?
Throughout Scripture, angels were sent to aid believers and punish the wicked (some examples can be seen in Acts 5 & 12).
At Christ’s birth, they were sent to pronounce the incarnation of God and to bring a message of peace. But not everyone can receive this peace. This peace is only for those who accept the Gospel.
Do you have peace because you know Jesus?
The real meaning of Christmas is that you can know peace and be forgiven.

How do you enter into the Kingdom of God?
Scripture tells us the way is narrow. A conscious decision must be made to enter into the kingdom.
When you accept Christ, you have to be willing to surrender yourself to Him.
In this sermon, Marty covers hatred and preaches from a passage from The Sermon on the Mount, starting in Matthew 5:21.
Marty challenges the congregation to not have hate in their hearts and to deal with anger swiftly, even if it is justified.
Marriage is a covenant relationship before God and must be protected. Adultery is not only physical but can be mental as well. Matthew 5:28 says, ”But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.”
If something cannot be righteously fulfilled, you should not be thinking about it. What you allow in your heart will eventually be done with your hands.
Proverbs 4:23 says, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”
You must fight for and protect your marriage.
Is there anyone in your life who is treating you wrong? Is there anyone you strongly dislike or even hate?
Marty speaks on Matthew 5:38-48 and explores the passage in which Jesus teaches us to love our enemies.
What does it mean to be blessed?
To be blessed means to have a deep sense of well-being independent of our circumstances. To truly be able to rest.
In Matthew 5 in the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus tells people how they can be blessed.
We must hunger and thirst after righteousness. Christ must be our ambition.
Have you forgotten to have joy?
Psalm 16:11 says, “In Your presence there is fullness of joy.”
If you’re a believer, you can have joy no matter what you’re going through.
Are you receptive to truth? Do you act on what you hear or are you unaffected? Marty preaches from Matthew on the Parable of the Sower and challenges his congregation to examine their hearts and see if they are affected by truth.
Are you engaging your heart in the way you worship and live your life? Marty preaches from Colossians 3:12-17 and reminds believers of what is needed to be able to have engaged hearts in life.
God sees your heart and that’s what counts. He sees your motivation, the things you dwell on, and what’s on the throne of your heart. The heart determines what your hands will do. What is going on in your heart? Is there anything you’re unwilling to give to the Lord?
We were made for eternity. God blesses believers so that they can make an impact for His kingdom. How are you using what God has blessed you with to impact eternity?
