Quote: “The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees opportunity in every difficulty." — Winston ChurchillLet’s talk about it!Why do we need motivation? Without motivation we would not have the need or ability to continue pushing forward in every circumstance we face in life. This can apply to school, work, personal goals, family life, or even in your walk with Christ or your religion. How do we stay motivated? In order to stay motivated most of us like to see some sort of progress towards our goals, we want that confirmation that we are moving in the right direction and all things are coming together. However that isn’t always the case. We ponder what to do when we feel lost & unmotivated. Personally, I’ve been here more times then not. I know what it’s like to be working towards several goals at once and being overwhelmed that everything isn’t going to get done or accomplished. Ex: I have worked full time in my career while also taking 1-2 online college classes to further my education while still having to maintain motivation in my personal life to keep going with my fitness goals and purpose related goals when it comes to being a creative. Ex: my podcast It’s not always easy but I try to rely on God and look for the opportunity / lesson in every situation and season. God would not put me in a place he doesn’t want me to lead or work. There’s a reason for everything and that’s something I have to continuously remind myself even when the motivation is not there. Self motivation relates to emotional intelligence because one cannot be open and willing to perceive different perspectives and emotions from others, when they can’t even understand or stay committed to their own self drive, interpersonal emotions, and goals in life. Motivational Quotes in the Bible Isaiah 41:10 (NIV)"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."Philippians 4:6–7 (NIV)"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."Romans 8:28"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.LETS CONNECT! “You can only understand people if you feel them in yourself” - John Steinbeck

What is empathy? - one ability to understand & relate to the feelings of others

How to be empathetic? - Being aware of other people's feelings, not being self centered & considering not only the effect of an action to you but also how it would affect others

Who does empathy affect? - at work, empathy with family and kids included ,empathy in a relationship etc **one ability to show Empathy can effect any type of relationship, think about all relationships take 2 and it’s important to be able to relate and considerate towards others

Christian Perspective:

God created all humans as equal, there is not one human who is superior to another. He created us to be like minded so that we can relate to another & be compassionate, kind, & loving towards one another.

But without empathy none of those things are possible, God says love your brothers and sisters and treat them how you would want to be treated (during the good times and bad times) everyday / daily.

1 Peter 3:8 ESV Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind.

1 Corinthians 12:26 ESV If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.

Ephesians 4:32 ESV Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

Your visions will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Those Who looks outside, dreams; those who looks inside, awakes.”

What is Self awareness: one’s ability to pin point how they’re feeling & why in efforts of better understanding their own emotions & how it affects those around you.

How do you become more self aware? - Embrace your emotions - take accountability for your action & Eliminate excuses - Assess your motives & Ask yourself “why”? - Learn your own strengths & weakness

Christian perspective: As a Christian, God wants us all to be more self aware. This means ensuring we align our words, thoughts, and actions with biblical perspectives and teachings.

Ephesians 4:22-24 ESV To put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

2 Corinthians 13:5 - Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

Proverbs 14:8 - The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.

Hey You! Welcome back to another episode, today we will be discussing what do you do when you’re tired of waiting for an outcome, tired of praying over a circumstance, and just flat out tired of things not going how you expected or hoped them to?

I think we all can get like this from time to time in our spiritual journey and walk with God. It is normal to get tired and not just in the physical sense but in the spiritual sense too. But, The battle lays between what choices you make when you’re at this place of having a tired heart. Please remember that just because things don't seem to be getting better or going as you planned/hoped for, God is still working and He is still in control of the outcome.

Hebrews 11:6 - And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

Galatians 6:9 - And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. LETS CONNECT!

Hey You!

Todays Episode is one I’ve been excited to share with you for a while now. We will be discussing the importance of surrounding yourself with a strong community of fellow believers. God did not make us to live life alone and isolated, God wants us to be apart of a community and form bonds with our fellow brothers and sisters in christ.

Personally, it took a long time for me to realize this. Mostly because growing up I was shy but I never let go of that and accepted my need and want to be a social butterfly, to be around people, to have companionships. I believe much of my “shyness” and self isolation came from past experiences, issues with trust, and depression. But as I continue to grow, heal, and walk my journey with my Heavenly Father I am becoming all that He made me to me.

I am walking in HIS WILL and meeting the people He intended for me to have bonds with, I am opening up more and becoming comfortasble with making strong connections with others that will help me along my journey and relationship with God. I hope this episode inspires and encourages you to the same!

“I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.” 1 Corinthians 1:10

“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” Proverbs 17:27

“Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: 10 If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. 11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? 12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:9-12

“Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. 3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” Ephesians 4:2-6

Hey You!

Welcome to another episode, in todays episode I am speaking from a very vulnerable place. We are all human, we are bound to make mistakes and commit sins. Please remember that God already knows every thing you will do in life, before you even do it - this INCLUDES the sins we commit on a daily basis. God will always love you and if you are in need of His forgiveness remember the three steps to repentance:

  1. Confess your sin to God
  2. Show God that you regret the sin you did
  3. Commit and hold yourself accountable to learning from your mistakes and making necessary changes going forward

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:19

You will never succeed in life if you try to hide your sins. Confess them and give them up; then God will show mercy to you. Proverbs 28:13

This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. 10 This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 1 John 4:9-11

Hey You!

Welcome back to another episode of the Free Your Voice Podcast! In todays episode we will focus on the difference between obedience and fleshly desires. Obedience comes from your faithfulness and commitment to God, when we are obedient we are willing to do anything and everything that God has asked us to do. We as his children choose to surrender our life to God and allow Him to map out the plan for our life. During your walk with God sometimes things will become challenging and giving into fleshly desires will often look like the easier way out in the moment, however I encourage you to always relay on the trust you have in God to show you the way. Gods plan is always better than any plan we could ever come up with on our own.

Walk in obedience to all that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.Deuteronomy 5:33

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. John 15:16

Hey You!

Welcome back to another episode of the Free Your Voice Podcast! In todays episode we will focus on the importance of stewardship & giving. Ask yourself this question, who is the provider of your finances? Is it that job you work for or is it because of the work you do for God? Think about it.

We as children of God would not have anything, including our finances without God. It is important to be a giver with a good heart posture, be a cheerful giver and remember why you are giving in the first place. God will always make a way out of no way, even when you don’t see how things will work out in the end.

*KEY POINTS**** 1. Give to God FIRST before you give to anybody else or spend money on anything else. 2. Always check your motives, why do you want more? What purpose will it serve for God to bless you with more than you already have? 3. Always show obedience to God in all that He has called you to do, no matter if it doesn’t make sense in the moment or you cant see the bigger picture in the moment. DO IT anyway!

Matthew 10:8 … Freely you have received; freely give.

1 John 3:16-18

This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.

Corinthians 9:6-8 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. Email me: freeyourvoice21@yahoo.com

Hey You!

Welcome back to another episode of the Free Your Voice Podcast! In todays episode we will focus on the importance of silencing the noise within your everyday life. Remember, God is the ultimate deciding factor in our lives, He already knows the answers to our problems and everyday challenges. When you walk with God you don’t have to depend on anybody else to help you through life.

Jeremiah 17:5-9 Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the Lord. He is like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see any good come. He shall dwell in the parched places of the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land. “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.”

Hey You! Welcome to episode 4 of season 2

In today’s episode we will be discussing the importance of waiting on God. I will be giving you 3 examples of how I am waiting on God within this season of my life. I take pride in living a life that is completely centered around God and the promises of His word. Personally, I always ask God for understanding and confirmation before I make decisions in my everyday life. I do not want to step outside of His will because I only want what God has for me. I hope you find this message encouraging and please remember to share with a friend, write a review/rating, and leave comments and feedback. God bless.

"Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer." Romans 12:12

"The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still." Exodus 13:13

Hey You, welcome to episode 3 of season 2!

Think about your current situation…Do you believe that what you are going through is a blessing from God or an attack from the devil to throw you off of your course with God?

God will never use a blessing to control us or put us in a place of hurt and despair. When the devil sees you having a firm relationship with God he will try to do anything he can to tear that relationship apart. The devil is very conniving and will try anything to distract you, even if it means trying to confuse you with a false truth disguised as a “blessing”.

The Devil may have deceived me this time, but little did he know his antics and tricks have led me to growing closer to God and has also allowed me to increase & improve my relationship with God.

Three factors that have increased for me personally from this experience:

  1. Increase in how to ask God for Discernment in all situations
  2. Increase of my faith in God
  3. Increase of my patience

Psalm 9:9-10 The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Psalm 34:10 Those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. Isaiah 26: 3-4 Those of steadfast mind you keep in peace—because they trust in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for in the Lord God you have an everlasting rock.

Hey You! Welcome to Episode 2 of Season 2

What I want you to consider: What would you do if God gave you a blessing and then asked for the blessing back?

Over the past few weeks I have felt so many emotions because I felt like God was taunting me with a specific blessing that he told me will come to reality in my future. God knows the desires of our heart, he would never taunt us or want us to doubt the blessings he tells us about. However, when we start to prioritize the blessing more then we prioritize our walk with God then God gets jealous and he will have to redirect our focus even if that means asking us to surrender the blessing back to him…If you trust God and have faith in Him then obey God. He’s in control, know that God would never hurt you or leave you but we as His children must obey him and fulfill the assignments he has set upon our life.

Proverbs 3-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”

Remember to love God for who He is & not what He can do for you!

Hey you! Welcome to episode 8, in todays episode we will be discussing the importance of prioritizing your mental health & I will share with you some details from my personal mental health journey. For me personally, I was once in a constant battle between relying on God and seeking professional help for my depression and anxiety. As a christian it is hard to admit that sometimes we need additional help from outside resources aside from God. However, God will always show you the way he wants you to take, rely on him, trust in him, and follow his directions.

Hey you, Hey you! Welcome to episode 3 in today’s episode we discuss the benefits of a “pruning season”

Pruning is defined as the act of removing dead or dying leaves from a plant in order to promote healthy growth.

Something to think about: “Every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit" (John 15:2)

God told me that in order to see the purpose he’s set out for my life I must prune all distractions including hobbies & friends. I had to let go of some things and people in order to get where I am at today. There is no perfect time to better your mind and inner being so why not start now?

What steps will you take to prune in this season?
