Located in the heart of berlin at Warschauer Straße in Friedrichshain, Lokschuppen is well known for its friendly and diverse atmosphere. We value diversity and inclusion, actively promoting a respectful and supportive community. With a diverse program featuring live music, DJ sets, performances and art installations, we aim to create a space for creative minds from around the world. Also known as Suicide Club Berlin in the past, the club opened its doors in 1994, becoming a cornerstone of Berlin‘s techno scene. Named after the influential band „Suicide,“ it hosted DJs like DJ Hell and Ellen Allien. Despite closure in 1999 due to gentrification, it found new homes, notably at RAW-Gelände in 2009, where it continues to flourish. Since 2024 the club is rebranded as Lokschuppen Berlin. The club is known for hosting various local collectives that form the club‘s unique character and diverse crowd. From Formula 90 to Pfandidos, Devoted, and Gabber Industries Berlin, these collectives infuse our venue with a variety of genres, ranging from groove to trance, hardtechno, hardcore, and house. we welcomed many well known techno legends such as DJ Rush and Ellen Allien, but also raising stars like Brutalismus3000, MCR-T, Klangkünstler and many more. Since 2018, Chantal‘s House of Shame has found a new home at Lokschuppen, well known for its legendary queer parties featuring (drag)-performances and a sex-positive atmosphere.

Noch zwei Tage, bis Ken Ishii endlich wieder bei uns an den Reglern steht. Um die Wartezeit zu verkürzen und die Vorfreunde noch ein bisschen mehr anzukurbeln lassen wir unsere innigste On-Off Beziehung, den Suicide Circus Podcast, nach einem knappen Jahr wiederaufleben, natürlich mit einem exklusiven Mix von Ken Ishii höchstselbst. 40 Episoden haben in den vergangenen 6 Jahren den Vibe unserer Partys ins heimische Wohnzimmer gebracht, die Zugfahrt untermalt, den Waschtag vertont oder auf den Rave eingestimmt. Hier reflektieren wir unser Booking, geben unseren Residents eine zusätzliche Spielwiese zum Austoben und stimmen uns auf die Abendveranstaltungen ein. Vor knapp zwei Jahren war Ken Ishii das letzte Mal bei uns zu Gast. Den Mitschnitt von der Party kam damals bereits so gut an, dass ein zusätzliches Take unbedingt hermusste. Nun kommt er endlich wieder nach Deutschland und exklusiv zu uns. Einen Mix hat er auch mitgebracht.
Wenn es um Techno aus Japan geht gehört Ken Ishii zu den bekanntesten Vertretern. In den 90er Jahren machte er mit einer Reihe von Alben auf dem legendären britischen Label R&S auf sich aufmerksam. Neben seinem Debütalbum Garden On The Palm, das 1993 parallel zu einem Release als UTU auf Richie Hawtins Plus 8 Label erschien, war es insbesondere sein zweites Album Jelly Tones, mit dem er international bekannt wurde. So gestaltete unter anderem der bekannte Anime-Künstler Kōji Morimoto, der auch an dem Kultfilm Akira mitwirkte, das Musikvideo zur Single-Auskopplung Extra, die zum MTV Dance Video of The Year gewählt wurde. Ishii war und ist immer ein Vorreiter für modernen, zeitgenössischen Techno gewesen, der sich in keine Schublade stecken ließ. Stark von Detroit-Techno beeinflusst, spiegelt sich die Energie seiner Produktionen in seinen DJ-Sets und Mixtapes wieder. Viel Spaß beim Hören!

SDX is the producer alias of our resident DJ BeNi, who delivered finest Detroit techno for our catalogue number 008. Catalogue number 009 comes with special Remixes by Legend Rolando, known from Labels like Ostgut Ton, Underground Resistance or Deslin & Max Durante, known from Sonig Groove & Diffuse Reality.
The original Track THE DAY SHE ASKS FOR FORGIVENESS is a slowly building percussive 808 banger, built around a short vocal sample. Rolando comes with a special minimalistic Dj Tool Track. We are sure this remix will find place in lots of Dj Sets. Max Durante comes with a Straight forward Techno Remix in his best own Style.
The Third and last Track of the Record is a special Bonus Breakbeat Track made by SDX himself. Clitchy Sounds and a special Mood will bring you directly into another dimension. Be prepared
Ben Long: "I first met Robert Hood in the early 90s in the London Club Lost. It was his debut in the UK. I was a big fan and follower of his music. Robert was wearing a trilby hat which I thought this was super cool and slightly unusual. After his set I congratulated him on a great job and introduced myself. He was kind and humble and gave me a white label from the M-Plant label which I still have in my record collection to this day.
The music that Robert Hood makes for me is one of the purest forms of Techno there is. He has stuck to his artistic vision and kept his sound true to himself and the roots of Techno / Electronic music. Which lets be honest, these days is an admirable thing to do when so many artists and DJs have thrown all their integrity out the window and sold their soul to the devil just to try and make a quick buck or be a superstar DJ.
I have only DJed with Robert once before and it was an honour to say the least and I’m very much looking forward to sharing the DJ booth once again with him at Suicide Circus. I have made this tribute mix to celebrate the man the artist and the legend that is Robert Hood. I hope you enjoy!"
Turntables Deejay, resident at DaDa Revoulution Berlin
Born in 1979 in a could city on the north of Italy. In the early 90s - thanks to a friend Lorenzo Trovato - he starts to discover the world of electronic music and learned the art of mixing with turntables.
He grew up like a DJ with innovative sounds like: Zen Paradox, The future Sound of London, Sound System, Spiral Tribe and many more. In 1996 he leaves his hometown and until now he split between two continents - USA and Europe.
Now his home base is Berlin and Suicide Circus is his first address to play and run parties. Besides of that he has played in clubs such as Tresor, Golden Gate, Griessmühle, Urban Spree and many other events, namely Krake Festival and Killekill.
