Welcome to my journey and as part of my life you are going to play a crucial role in deepening my practice and raising our collective consciousness.
Affirmations are a great way to set your intentions in meditation. Everyone has heard of them, but like a lot of new ideas that come into the mainstream, they can get watered down and lose their value. A lot of people tell themselves affirmations just before they get out of bed in the morning, or just before they go to bed at night—affirmations are just words after all, so this might mean that when you're actually meditating on an affirmation, it's right before you walk out the door to work or school. But there is power in setting the intention and repeating the affirmation throughout the day as well. It's important to have a good understanding of what affirmations are for; we often hear about affirmations being about positive thinking and having positive outlooks on life, but this is only half true. Affirmations are not about actually changing reality by saying something into existence; they're more about saying what you want to see happen in your life aloud, to yourself, and then taking action on it.
