I am a Certified Life Coach who helps other moms process the fears that come from living day to day with a child with food allergies. I have a child with anaphylactic peanut allergy, and I used to go at facing this all alone. Until I found a life coach who would help me process all of the fear I was having about my son’s furture. I got certified so I can help YOU. I know the worry. I know the fear. I know the sleepless nights where worst case scenarios run over and over in your brain. Not just about your child’s life, but also about the financial burden, the scrutiny from not only your friends and family members, but also the doctors who are supposed to care about your child. I know the strain it can put on a marriage and relationships with teachers and caregivers. I’ve felt the crippling anxiety sitting in the back of an ambulance with my child in anaphylaxis. I know how you feel. I have been able to process these fears and figure out REAL steps forward for me and my son. Yes, my son as well. The tools I continue to learn have helped him stay calm when he is faced with an allergen, and stand strong when he is the only one at an event NOT eating the dessert. We have found real steps that are propelling him and I towards a better future. There will come a day when you don't spend every moment in fight mode, ready to bat down the next problem. I had the amazing opportunity this week to host one of my coaches and mentors on my podcast.

Misty Springer truly helps women BECOME.

Become what?

Become the coach, mom, business owner, and woman you know you are designed by God to be.

I have witnessed this first hand as she has helped me become a more whole woman.

I have done this through experiencing emotions in my body, not just in my head.

The shift happened almost immediately for me, where I was able to recognize that I needed my body, heart, and mind to all be in alignment in order to progress.

I can't wait for you to hear our interview and begin to experience what it truly means for YOU to BECOME.

You can shift everything. Guys, I get it, I know you’re looking at me thinking, "Yeah if I’m in a good mood, I can do that, if I’m not, it just isn’t going to work." If you tell yourself that- you will be right. It’s never going to work.

You’re in charge of your mood, that is a beautiful, beautiful truth. Sometimes I choose to show up sad. Sometimes I choose to show up, worried, but I don’t have to show up like that every single day. I can show up, however I choose to...And this morning at the beginning of the morning, I chose to show up frustrated, because I was thinking “he needs to hurry up “and I acted in a way that I don’t want to act.

And the second I realized my actions I shifted everything around-and you can do this too. You can shift you. You can shift you. Mom’s have this amazing ability that once they shift, everything begins to shift.

It’s okay to acknowledge the sadness.

You don’t have to resist, react, or avoid feelings. You can actually get really really good at feeling them.

Our feelings are never going to go away. We aren’t robots, we are human beings. I would so much rather get good at feeling them then I would to live this life numb.

Let's get good, together.

This week we are talking about why thoughts matter in the first place.

When it comes down to it, humans truly believe that our circumstances create how we feel.

My child has a food allergy-I feel stressed

There are 47 things on the floor in my living room, I’m feeling overwhelmed.

The airport is 2 hours away-I feel anxious

My plane got delayed, I feel frustrated.

She told me she doesn’t like my shirt-I feel offended.

My husband never makes the bed, I feel underappreciated.

The teacher doesn’t priortize my child’s allergies, I feel powerless

Each of these examples is a circumstance, followed by a FEELING.

But I want to show you that something happens in between the fact that is present in our lives and a feeling that is in our bodies. Think about that. Something happens in between the fact and how we feel about it.

It is a THOUGHT.

We have a thought. We then have a feeling.

View Details

Every thought that comes into your head is not a fact. This will not be popular when you suggest it to your brain-but I promise you it is true.

Your child’s allergy does not determine the level of fulfillment in their life. Their thoughts about it do. Your mother in law's scathing words do not determine the outcome of your relationship. Your thoughts about her words do. Your child looking in the mirror does not determine the level of her self esteem. Her thoughts about what she sees, does.

The beautiful thing here is...you get to choose what thoughts you give time and space to.

...And the way you choose to think about the facts in your life is what determines the outcomes of your life. Stories your brain offers are not reality. Facts are. Choose your stories wisely.

Today we get to dig into the heart. This is where your true beliefs live, this is where your core beliefs are. This is one of my favorite things to talk about, because we so often allow our minds or our bodies to dictate our lives. We float around living unconsciously from the things the world is offering us, constantly making decisions from our brains or our body’s-is simply what we are used to.

But have you ever tapped into your heart? I know you have. You have an experience where you completely trusted your heart, even though your body and mind didn’t want to press forward. Let's dig deep into our heart today.

Sometimes my brain tells me everything is fine, but my body disagrees. I still feel fear, worry, and anger...despite my best efforts to "think" myself out of the emotions.

This year I learned something that changed everything for me:

Your body needs to experience feelings in order to get to the other side of them.

I have to process the fear in order to feel the calm.

I have to work through the overwhelm in order to access the relief.

If you want to CREATE how you FEEL in your life, you need to know how to access your mind-and your body.

Tune in this month as we learn how to feel calm and relief through our Mind, Heart, and Body.

The first and easiest way to create calm and relief ion purpose is to simply identify the thoughts that you are currently having with your Mind.

See how those thoughts make you feel.

Decide if you want to keep feeling that.

What if we wanted to CREATE how we FELT for the majority of our life?

We would have to do exactly that. Come up with the thoughts that we want to be creating our feelings. It is possible for you.

What if you decided to come from LOVE instead of from Lack? I can do less in my life but choose but do it from love-that will make it “better” to me.

I am not giving anything up when I think of this. So often when we hear "Less" we think we are giving up so much! Instead of asking what do I have to give up, I ask, what do I want to go all in on? What do I CHOOSE to do from love?

It is More fun to come from love!

I have decided that it will be so fun to ask myself each month, "What can I commit to from love for the next 30 days?"

I Invite you to join me and do what you do from love instead of lack.

You have exactly what you need to grow, if you choose it! Growth can look like doing less.

Less only better.

Nothing slows down your progress more that spinning in indecision. We spend so much of our life in this space. I want you to be aware of how many times you say, “I don’t know” in your life. Those three nasty words stop you in your tracks.

The key to slowing down your life is to make decisions and follow through with them. You could say this will speed up your direction, your goals, your relationships, etc….and that would be right! When I want to slow down my brain fog and my stress, I make decisions and I DON”T make them THE END OF THE WORLD.

Do you know that everything is figureoutable?

Do you know that any decision you make today, you can make a different one tomorrow?

I believe living in indecision slows down progress. Listen up and start progressing.

Your brain is spinning-let’s talk about how to slow it down.

One of my go to’s this year for peace has been something I have had my entire life-but I just didn’t know it.

Breathing.

I want you to increase oxygen to your brain. Literally, physically increase it.

For 5 whole minutes.

Your brain will still be spinning on all the things you have to do, and all the things you have done wrong. Your brain will be spinning about the last conversation that you had that you said words you didn’t mean, then felt things you did your best to resist.

Lay down and breathe.

I used to have this friend, I named him my brain bully. Whenever a thought would come into my mind that created an emotion like fear or anxiety or sadness, I would blame it on my brain bully. Then I realized that my brain is on my side.

It’s not a bully. It actually wants the best for me.

It just knows that sometimes it’s ok to feel sad. It’s ok to feel angry. It knows that my body needs to process human emotions, and it is giving me an opportunity to do so.

Of course your brain suggests thoughts to you that FEEL like they create negative emotions. But what if…you just needed to learn to make those emotions your friend? Sadness and fear and anger can all be your friend. They don’t have to be feelings that you think are living inside of you and bullying you all of the time.

You and I experience failure often. What we make it mean is the meat of the matter. When we treat our shortfalls as a FACT that we are failing at life, our job, and our relationships, there is no way out. When you realize that failure is simply a thought that your brain is offering you, so many things become solvable. When you tell yourself, "I am failing at my career" your results are that you continually see the ways that you are falling short. When you think, "I am failing at being a mother" you give yourself more opportunities to compound that thought. What are you failing at, and what are you going to do about it?

If you do-hook me up. A magic dust that can control everything and everyone around you?

Your child's sickness-poof, gone.

Your teenagers poor dating choices-poof, changed.

Your grown son's career path-poof, determined.

I have alot of surface thoughts that I have been believing for a long time. I have always told myself that I am very judgemental…if I spend a moment to let go of that thought-I can see that IS NOT the truth. I have always told myself that I am extremely impatient…If i let go of that thought I can see that is NOT ACCURATE.

I have always told myself that I only operate when there is order…If I choose to let go of this thought, what will happen for me?

I recently realized I was a magician and could do anything if I JUST LET GO. If I honored what my soul needed, and was a lover of myself, if I was a warrior for my desires, then my true desires could shine.

This may seem insignificant-but it is everything. We are going to talk about the surface thoughts that our brains offer us vs. What we truly believe in our core. This is everything!

On the surface we think that our kids popping their gum annoys us. On the surface we think that Dribbling the basketball in the living room annoys us. On the surface we think the person on the airplane shaking their leg annoys us. WE KNOW, that annoyance only comes from a thought.

I want to offer you to operate from your core beliefs about humans rather than your surface thoughts about them.

Your core beliefs might be... I value them as a human, they deserve my time, love and attention, connection comes from me I want to connect with them, their actions have nothing to do with me-and everything to do with them. Let's learn how to access our core beliefs, and start valuing all humans!

Is it possible to do away with anger? To overcome it? I actually think it is possible. I have known people in my life, namely my grandfather, who did not express his anger. That doesn’t mean that he didn’t feel it sometimes.

We all feel anger sometimes-it is an emotion. When I feel anger it feels RED, even hot in my chest. When I feel anger it feels heavy through my shoulders and my palms get sweaty.

I think I feel angry because my kid lied to me.

I think I feel angry because my the guy in the big blue truck cut me off downtown.

I think I feel angry because someone said words to me that I didn't agree with.

Newsflash-We know that emotions in our body are caused by thoughts in our brain. So that anger you are feeling? It's coming from you.

My biggest fear is fear about the future. What's Yours?

Fear that my kids won’t choose a career that can sustain the lifestyle they desire.

Fear that they will lose their next football game.

Fear that the next time my son eats a peanut, he will have a reaction.

What about fear of a future conversation-maybe with an in law, an estranged family member, or a doctor?

We all experience fear. The issue is that we think fear is bad. I disagree! I think fear is telling us something. Hello! Be aware! This is coming up in your future! Hello! You  might want to put some extra thought into this future conversation or vacation that is ahead. I think it is so nice of our brain to warn us ahead of time of things that we might need to be aware of.

Learn to do whatever it takes to take just A TINY bit of the power away from the fear. BY FEELING IT. Not by running away and hiding and feeling scared like the people in the movies-but by feeling it. Take its power. You got this.

Your mom should call you, fix your meals, let you roll your eyes and still babysit your kids.

Your kids should take out the trash, clean their rooms, do their homework and practice their instruments-all with a smile and without being asked.

Your husband should give you a giant kiss when he gets home from work, have all the energy in the world to take over kid duties, and be ready to run the 5 errands you have on a list for him-may I add-all with a smile.

Want to know how I am so good at telling you about manuals you might have for people in your life? Because I am so good at having them, myself. I have manuals! We all do.

A manual is an instruction guide we have for someone in our lives about how we would like them to behave so we CAN FEEL GOOD AND HAPPY. We generally don’t tell the other person what’s in our manual. That's where things get sticky.

I believe that we are on earth to learn to become like Jesus Christ.

Jesus was the master of managing his mind and his emotions.

He felt compassion for the woman well.

He felt yearning for friendships.

He felt lonely in the Garden of Gethsemane.

He felt proud when he performed miracles.

He felt disappointed when Peter denied him 3 times.

He felt angry when people were selling things in the temple.

He felt humbled when the leper believed he could be healed by the Savior.

He felt shunned when the samaritans spit on him.

He felt happy when he started his public ministry.

He felt sad when Nicodemus chose not to follow him.

I have felt sad, happy, humbled, disappointed, angry, and lonely...

Just

Like

Jesus.

I want to become like Jesus. I can do that by reminding myself that:

Jesus felt this too.

Chip away. Take a tiny chisel and just start to chip at the thought that your brain thinks is SO RELEVANT at the moment.

Why would we even do this? We do it because we are sick of feeling disappointed every time our husband comes home and looks at his phone instead of us. THAT’s WHY. We are sick of feeling frustrated about the price of a treatment program we are in. We are sick of being angry at our friend from not listening to anything we have to say. You think that feeling disappointed is the obvious, easiest thing to do. But you are doing it over and over and over every single night. Does that feel easy to you?

It doesn't to me. The easiest thing to me is actually to spend 10 seconds, each time my brain offers me a thought like, “He isn’t engaging” and teaching my brain to ask ONE SIMPLE QUESTION.

Is that actually the truth?

I do this in every area of my life. You can too.

I also find that alot of my clients have different ideas about how money should be spent, especially when it comes to healthcare costs that feel out of their control. Holy moly we are so hard on ourselves. I am going to tell you right now, why that is.

It is because we think we have to be amazing all of the time.

There is no room for less than that. Only super duper amazing spectacular all of the time.

So, when we aren’t amazing, we judge ourselves. We shame ourselves. We tell ourselves that we are falling short, ruining our marriages, our children and our entire lives along the way.

Let’s lighten up.

Less judgment.

More love.

So often we think that saying “I don’t know” is the easy way out. Is that the truth?

I actually would argue that telling yourself that you don’t know is making everything harder in your life. You might not be able to think of the last time you said Idon’t know, but after listening to this podcast, I promise you will start to recognize times that you say I don’t know in the future.

And honestly, that’s the first step. Every time you say, I don’t know, you can answer your brain. You can tell your brain “I hear you brain, I see that right now you’re wanting to be confused about something that You think will help you. But in reality telling yourself you were confused does just that, it confuses you. What if you tried to take I don’t know out of your vocabulary? Every time you said it, you challenged yourself. You challenged yourself to simply answer the question instead.

Who controls your love?

Often we think our love is controlled by the people around us. HOw they act. What words they use, the choices that they make.

This is wrong. We are not controlled by any of that. Our love does not have to be conditional on other people. Do you know you can choose to love? I do this by choosing to strive to understand the people around me.

It is not easy.

It is all work. It is all hard work. Do you want it to be a path that leads to the same sad angry emotions it has for the past decade? Or to a version of you who is striving to not only understand others better, but most importantly, yourself.

There is something that says simply, “love others”. I believe the best way to do that, is to strive to understand. Borrow that thought from me and just strive to understand. That is how the love comes, through understanding.

Do you feel dread about your child's allergy?

It would be very easy to convince myself that dread is coming from my circumstance. But, I know better, I know that feelings come from my thoughts. And this feeling of dread is definitely coming from the thought. “This food sent him into anaphylaxis two years ago.”

It is a really big leap for me to change my thought. I might be tempted to force myself to change it to “this is what we’ve been working towards“ or “He is strong he can do this“ or “I didn’t spend all this money in time for nothing“.

But when I really think about it, when I offer myself, the thought “this is what we’ve been working towards“ I believe it for a second. But then my brain automatically goes back to “This food sent him into anaphylaxis two years ago“ I can’t seem to get away from that thought. It keeps popping into my mind.

Every afternoon as he is taking a higher and higher dose of peanut, I am looking at that little Gummy Bear, and thinking the thought “this food sent him into anaphylaxis two years ago“.

So how on earth do we bridge the gap? How do we get from complete dread to a feeling that might just propel us to continue moving forward?

Why do we try to control grown adults when we know it is fruitless? We try to control them because WE want to feel something.

We want to feel heard.

We want to feel valued.

We want to feel like others approve of us.

Guess what. You can feel heard, valued, and approved of. You can feel all of that without your sister, mother in law, or teacher telling you it.

Because we feel emotions due to a thought we are thinking. If you want to feel heard, valued, and approved of, THINK those things of YOURSELF.

You hear you.

You value YOU.

You approve of YOU.

You can desire chocolate cake and not eat it, friend. You are so capable.

So many of our desires remain unmet.

I have a desire for Meyers’ peanut allergy just always looming over our heads.

I have a desire for old relationships that I had with friends to be rekindled.

I have a desire to not feel chronic pain in my leg.

I have a desire to never see another human lose a child too soon.

I have a desire for there to be a cure to my best friend’s cancer.

I have a desire for middle schoolers to not have cell phones.

I have a desire for people just being kinder in our world.

I have a desire for there to be medicines that actually heal genetic disorders.

I have an entire page of desires that I am sitting in right now. Some of them, well all of the ones that I listed off to you, I will most likely have to

stay in DESIRE for my ENTIRE LIFE.

Others on my list I may just desire for a few months or years.

I want you to write all of your desires that you are waiting for.

All of your big, unanswered desires that you have in your life. We all have them. We all have heavy things that we know may or may not happen for us in this lifetime.

Write them all down. “I desire” at the top of your page, then just let your brain dump every light and every heavy deep desire that you have onto the paper.

Then look at the outstanding capacity that you have to sit with unmet desires. You are LITERALLY going to sit there, right in the middle of this desire for years.

You are doing it RIGHT NOW.

In this episode, Chelsea invites you to join her for a video class on the Fear Strategy. I will be teaching you what has helped me embrace the fear and worry that comes along with having a child with an anaphylactic food allergy. Can you imagine actually going to lunch with a friend without checking your phone “just in case” your child has an exposure? What about a vacation where we actually enjoy the airplane ride instead of worrying constantly about what snack the stewardess is going to hand out, today? Or a baseball game, where you can have a calm mind to make decisions, even when you are surrounded by people cracking open peanuts? Can you imagine a day where your child can help himself not feel like he is on the outside looking in when a group of kids are all eating birthday cake that he can’t have? Join me. Invite your friends and family members who are also impacted. I promise this work is worth doing.  Click the link to sign up: https://mailchi.mp/22913c1de487/foodallergyfreedomformoms Or click in my bio @winterhollercoaching on instagram to sign up. What if I told you that you heard a secret at birth, and you forgot. No matter your belief system, be it God, Intuition, the Earth. You were told something at birth. It was “YOU are the greatest Miracle in the world.” What if we could believe that? Fully, truly, deep in our souls. I believe that belief is learned. That you can learn anything by telling yourself it enough. Beliefs are just sentences in our brain that we have told ourselves so many times that we believe them wholeheartedly.  Try it. Tell yourself that you are the GREATEST MIRACLE in the world. What comes up for you? Say it out loud.  Do you believe it? Do you, deep down in the core of your heart, believe it? If you don’t, borrow my belief. I believe that you are the greatest miracle in the world. To find out more, follow Chelsea on instagram @winterhollercoaching

I am so excited for today-we are going to completely change the way you think.  Not to happy go lucky thoughts and rainbows-just the  WAY you think. Have you ever even thought about the WAY you think?  You can literally CHANGE EVERYTHING. I did. You can too. Today we are learning The Model! The model has the ability to help you work through any problem. ANY PROBLEM. Literally every single problem that you have is a problem that only exists in your brain. I know you want to push back against that-but I promise you it is true. Big and small, it all boils down to our thoughts. Take time to put your thoughts into the model. I do it daily. You can too.
