Are you one of those great moms out there that make sure your kids are fed but you neglect your own dietary needs?

My guest today is a certified health coach who understands how common this problem is, but also has tips to help you take time for your own nutrition without taking from your time with your kids.

In this episode, I talk to Kathy Mead Fronheiser about key macronutrients for your diet, the importance of eating balanced meals every few hours, and time management tips for mealtime.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • why Kathy is someone you should listen to about nutrition as a mom, despite not being a mom herself
  • how to choose good carbohydrates (hint: they’re high in fiber!)
  • what else you need to maintain healthy energy levels throughout the day
  • why replicating your child’s meal for yourself, even if you’re not hungry, could be the best choice
  • a reminder that you don’t need to be hungry to eat (if you have an assigned lunch break, that’s when you’d eat)
  • why you should plan ahead and include snacks for yourself when you pack snacks for your kids
  • an action item you can do right now to improve your nutrition

Thank you for listening!

Kathy's bio:
Kathy helps high-achieving female entrepreneurs over 40 prioritize simple daily habits to increase energy, ditch the scale and make more money! She has found that most women don't want to track all of their calories or macros! They simply want to be more present in their daily lives and more confident in their businesses. Instead, they pour all of their time and energy into their business and give up on themselves.

She created the "Live your Life" Accountability group coaching program to help female business owners break their habit goals into doable bite-size pieces that fit seamlessly into their busy lives. Providing support without all the trackers for their current season of life.

She is a lover of all things outdoors, animals, baked goods and Harry Potter. She is a true southern woman who has broken her addiction to sweet tea (her grandmother is likely rolling in her grave), but she will never give up pimento cheese or pecan pie .. and she will NEVER understand "heat without humidity!"

These days, it seems like everyone is using AI, but they’re not always using it correctly. Hint: if you can tell that something was created with AI, then it’s a problem.

So many of my clients tell me that they love helping people, but creating content for social media is a challenge. Whether they need to create an Instagram post or reel or a TikTok, they don’t have the ideas, so they feel like they just can’t do it. They’d love to use AI, but they don’t know how.

My guest today is super tech-savvy. She knows how to use AI effectively and is here to share exactly how to make it work for you and sound like you.

In this episode, I talk to Lindsay Peragine about how to use AI correctly, how important it is to take action and post your content, and the best time to record videos.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • that it’s possible to transform from a black thumb to a green thumb
  • how it can take a struggle to realize what you want in your business
  • why if others can tell you’re using AI, then you’re doing it wrong
  • how to use AI to find pain points for your customer
  • how to turn around and use the pain points you learned from AI to then have AI find content ideas
  • how to then take those content ideas and have AI generate captions
  • why you then need to customize and make these captions yours
  • how everything AI does has to come from somewhere, so it’s even more important to customize
  • an analogy of how content creation is like a recipe blog
  • why human connection is so important in your content
  • what you can do today to get started using AI for content creation

Are you ready to take action in your business? You might be taking all the courses and reading all the books, but are you actually taking action?

As women, moms, and business owners, it can be hard to take action because we naturally fear the results. Someone could say no or reject us. Things might not go the way we want it to or we could fail outright.

Instead of taking action, we’ll often take the courses, read the books, and listen to the podcasts so it feels like we’re doing something for our business (because we are!), but it’s the busy work. It’s not action.

My guest today is all about taking “messy action” - taking action regardless of the possibility of a no or a failure. She realizes that the results of these actions can be learning experiences, a chance to make changes and try again.

In this episode, I talk to Kelly Sinclair about how it’s possible to take messy action for just 10 minutes a day to make an impact, what confidence really means, and why trial and error is so important along your journey as a business owner.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • why I think I should wait to visit New Zealand until my kids are older
  • how business shifts and changes and evolves over time
  • an example of creative messy action
  • how messy action can teach you more than reading about other people’s actions and results, though that has its own value too, in moderation
  • what the momentum framework looks like and how it’s cyclical
  • why the results don’t mean anything about you personally as a business owner
  • how the more you show up and take action, the more you’ll enhance your competence and confidence

Thank you for listening!

About Kelly Sinclair:
Kelly is an award-winning marketer and brand strategist, visibility maximizer, and a small-town, girl mom of 2. She did the corporate thing for over 10 years, climbing the ladder and building a successful career in PR, managing reputations for global companies. You become a mom, and suddenly your time is not your own. Every second of every day revolves around these tiny humans that you’re raising.

But what about you? Do you regularly make space for yourself, for your creativity and self-expression?

Sometimes it can feel like we’ve forgotten ourselves in motherhood. This can be especially difficult if we decide to start a business since we need our creative energy to help us take our business to the next level.

My guest today recognizes the importance of finding space to pour back into yourself, your creative pursuits and hobbies. It doesn’t take much time, but it’s crucial for being a more present mom and showing up in your work or business as well.

In this episode, I talk to Anna Locke about checking in and connecting with our bodies as a habit, the fun of changing energy levels during pregnancy, and why community is so important in motherhood.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • how connections and networking can help build a person
  • why you need to pay attention the energy capacity you have to give in your current season
  • how energy levels ebb and flow, and why remembering that can help you through the difficult seasons and phases of motherhood
  • why when you think about keeping all of the balls in the air, you need to pay attention to which balls are glass, and which are rubber
  • why you need to put your own well-being first
  • something you can do immediately to begin to make space for creative energy

Thank you for listening!

If you wanted to do something in your business and you didn’t know how, would you just try to figure it out on your own? Or would it be easier to make connections, ask questions, and figure it out with help from other women?

From my experience, it’s easier to ask other women. But sometimes it feels like you need luck to continue those relationships and form a community.

My guest today knows that a community isn’t based on luck. It’s based on authentic connections from genuinely caring about each other.

In this episode, I talk to Inbal Claudio about how friendship comes before business, why you need to start networking and meeting people now, and how a little bit of effort will create authentic relationships.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • a fun fact about Inbal that is always good for starting a conversation
  • how when you become a mom, you become a package deal
  • how becoming a parent means learning time management and learning to adapt
  • why you sometimes need to pivot in your business
  • how it helps to connect with people on the same page as you
  • why you should reach out and put yourself out there if you’re confused or have questions when you’re in a membership
  • how your community includes the people you open up and let in, not just those outside of your family
  • why you should be open about what you’re looking for
  • that you don’t have to take the advice given to you
  • how you should embrace the chaos if that’s the season you’re in

You have a strategy created specifically for you and your business. You know exactly what you need to do to become super successful.

And then… nothing. You have the potential and the roadmap, but what’s missing?

Quite often there’s a limiting belief or mindset block that needs to be worked through in order to succeed. Maybe you don’t know how to be successful, or you don’t believe you deserve to be successful. Most of us have blocks around money and income.

My guest today is a business and money strategist. She noticed that when she provided her clients with strategies to succeed, they often didn’t take action, but once she helped them with their mindset and applied human design, they had much more success.

In this episode, I talk to Vanessa Ann Miller about how human design applies to being an entrepreneur, a little bit of how to understand your human design, and how your human design can relate to your limiting beliefs.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • how from the age of zero to seven, we bringing on the beliefs, habits, and behaviors of the people that are raising us
  • how important it is to reframe situations to shift our mindset
  • why you should sometimes take the time to understand the things that you’re resisting
  • how there’s been a shift in the coaching industry, and how human design relates to it
  • how to start to look at your human design graph, type, and strategy
  • why our personalities will sometimes vary from the human design chart

Are you a perfectionist?

Maybe you set goals, break them down, and keep changing and revising them to try to find the perfect actions to take to reach them, but you never take action in the meantime. Or maybe you want to share a blog or a social media post, but you can’t figure out the perfect way to say what you want, so you just freeze in inaction.

That’s exactly how I was when I started my business, so I can totally relate. Perfectionism can lead to so much procrastination, it’s not even funny.

My guest today grew up as a perfectionist too. But as a parent and entrepreneur, she taught herself how to overcome her perfectionistic tendencies and allow errors to happen.

In this episode, I talk to Dr. Moira Hanna about the first step to get past perfectionism, how we can apply the same questions we use when talking to our kids to our to-do lists, and how our mistakes and imperfections help us learn.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • how fun facts can lead to random points of connection
  • that perfection doesn’t actually exist
  • that when you let go of perfectionism, your anxiety goes down
  • what’s the worst thing that can happen if you’re not perfect
  • how making mistakes makes you more relatable
  • how wisdom comes from taking action
  • how to determine which opportunities to take (especially when there are so many things launching
  • why you should make note of those “not right now” opportunities
  • why it’s time to “just hit publish”
  • that there are people you’re impacting even if you’re not getting the feedback you want
  • ways to feel more present with your kids
  • how community can get you through the tough times

Thank you for listening!

You want to build your business and increase your visibility. Have you ever thought about hosting a summit?

Virtual summits are a powerful marketing tool that you can repeat yearly to increase your visibility. They provide an excellent platform for creating connections between attendees, speakers, and hosts.

In this episode, I talk to Katrina Holmquist about growing your visibility with a summit, building trust through connections, and making sure that your speakers are a good fit for your summit or you are a good fit for whichever summits where you’re a speaker.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • how responding to emails creates great connections
  • how it’s possible to go from being completely indecisive to completely confident in yourself
  • how you can create your own structure to your day
  • why it’s important to create host to speaker, attendee to attendee, and speaker to attendee connections
  • why you need to decide a goal for your summit
  • the importance of connection over competition
  • how to overcome limiting beliefs around hosting a summit
  • one thing you can do today to get ready to host a virtual summit in the future (start making connections!)
  • why making your summit an annual event is such a great marketing tool

Are you one of those people that set goals for the year but then forget about them until December when it’s time to set goals again?

Don’t worry, I’m not judging you. But it’s hard to achieve our goals if all we do is set them and forget them.

That’s why today I’m sharing the first episode of a three-part series. In this series, we’re going to take the time to perform a mid-year review of our goals, of our lives, of our businesses.

In this episode, we’re going to reflect on how we currently feel, our successes and struggles, and whatever metrics you may have to review.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • a little bit of Psych 101
  • how to do a wheel of life exercise
  • an example of a shift you might make in your life to focus on your priorities
  • some big picture reflections as well as reflections on the details

You own your own business when something happens, something big. Maybe it’s expected (cue baby coos) or maybe it’s unexpected (a family emergency or an illness).

Are you prepared to take time away from your business or, at the very least, reduce your hours substantially?

Or would you be forcing yourself to work and adding to your stress load when you don’t have the time or energy to work.

While we were recording this episode, my guest was expecting her first child in two short months. She knew that big changes were coming and she needed to prepare to take time away from her business.

In this episode, I talk to Mandy Emerson about becoming a mom as an entrepreneur, the importance of doing a time audit in your business, and how to overcome limiting beliefs around hiring someone.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • how Midwest nice is a totally a thing
  • how important it is to determine what and how you can delegate portions of your business for sustainability
  • the benefits of having an assistant and how they can often do things better than you
  • how there are things that only you can do in your business
  • why networking with your community is helpful for referrals for a good VA or contractor
  • how batching and evergreen content are so helpful for taking time off as an entrepreneur
  • why you need to repurpose your content
  • why you need to find an assistant that can work independently and manage up
  • how to set clear expectations with a contractor
  • ways to make your workplace a fun, enlightening encouraging place to work

Thank you for listening!

Have you ever sat down to write an email newsletter and realized you have no idea what to say?

You’re heard that for every dollar spent on email marketing, you can make $40 in return… but you’re having trouble taking that first step and actually writing and sending an email.

My guest today started her business while traveling in a travel trailer. She had iffy internet and not much time (especially since she had a toddler at the time!), so she developed strategies to get her newsletters written quickly and efficiently.

In this episode, I talk to Liz Wilcox about converting 141 people on a waitlist into 141 sales, why it’s more important to be relatable than interesting, and a specific newsletter formula.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • how running is a great form of self-care

Do you sometimes feel a disconnect between your business and family life and like maybe that’s what’s keeping you from being fully intentional in either?

It can be so hard to find balance between your business and family sometimes, but I’m here to say that it’s totally possible!

My guest today went from being burned out as a teacher, to being successful and burned out in network marketing. When she figured out what wasn’t working for her, she moved on to focus on what was working and how she could help other moms avoid some of the same pitfalls on their way to success in their businesses (whatever business they chose).

In this episode, I talk to Cara Harvey about her business framework (Dream, Learn, Plan, Do), how to find 15 minutes to do the thing, and how to retrain your brain for success.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • how there’s a process to finding success - it usually doesn’t just happen overnight
  • why it’s important to get over using perfectionism as a procrastination tool and just get started
  • you have permission to pivot, but you shouldn’t ping pong
  • how to find alignment in your business
  • why you need to think about how to fit your business into your life, not the reverse
  • why boundaries in your business are so crucial for being present in your family
  • why being a passionate expert (listen to hear Cara’s definition of an expert!) is necessary in your business
  • what you should ask yourself in the dream phase of business
  • how to use brain science to build your vision
  • that you are the CEO of your business, even if you’re on day one of your business
  • a potential yellow flag for your business
  • research ideas to help with SEO
  • why you need to look at your life first before you set up a plan
  • how to retrain your brain
  • that work will expand to fill allotted time
  • the first thing you should do to apply this framework to your business

Thank you for listening!

Cara is a wife, mom to a 16-year-old stepson, 7-year-old daughter, 5-year-old son, and a woman of God. She works as a productivity coach for work at home moms and her mission is to provide women with the tools, resources, and community to reach their goals, empower themselves, find their happiness, and live a life by design. Did you have a corporate position, maybe working the 9-5 with your nose to the grindstone, before you became a mom?

It’s not always the easiest life to maintain when you become a mother. Even though moms are amazing problem solvers and are the best at time management since they have to juggle so many schedules, oftentimes the corporate world isn’t so welcoming after they have kids.

My guest today held a corporate position with an awesome salary and great benefits but she was uninspired. The positives outweighed the negatives and she would have remained there, except she was let go during the pandemic, during her maternity leave.

In this episode, I talk to Maura Walters about how the corporate world and 9-5 model was created for white men (not women!) with people at home caring for their children, why being let go from a job can be a sign from the Universe, and why entrepreneurship is a great alternative to the corporate world for moms.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • how traveling during your formative years changes you and some fun life and business #goals that come as a result
  • why you should start by reaching out to your network when you’re looking for your first clients
  • how it’s necessary to relabel “costs” as “investments” in yourself
  • that there’s a distinction between moms who stay home because they want to and moms who stay home because they feel like they have to or were forced out of the workforce
  • how being at home allows you to be more active in your children’s lives, even if they’re in school
  • proof that it’s possible to make more money working for yourself than working in a corporate position
  • how setting boundaries around your time both gives you more freedom and makes you more productive
  • why talking to other people who have done what you’re planning to do is so helpful for your mindset

Thank you for listening!

Argh! He left his socks on the floor again. Does he even see the laundry hamper? It’s barely a foot away from those dirty socks… on the floor… again!

Sound familiar? Maybe your kids leave their stuff all over the house, you find the bottle of orange juice in the fridge with only a few drops left, or your husband misses the hamper ev-er-y time.

And if you continually remind them to pick up after themselves, it can feel like you’re not being heard. You’re not being appreciated. These are things being done TO you.

My guest today is married with 3 grown children so she’s definitely been there. But she has figured out the key to not becoming upset over the little things.

In this episode, I talk to Donna Tashjian about choosing priorities, the steps to forgiveness, and the importance of choosing joy.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • how saying yes to something means saying no to something else
  • why being kind to yourself is so important
  • how you magnify whatever you focus on
  • why you need to choose to stop saying “I can’t” and change it to “I can”
  • how forgiveness is about you and it’s a choice
  • why you can be triggered again after you’ve already forgiven someone (it’s like an onion!)
  • how emotions are related to disease

Wait a second… you expect me to do what? I can’t, I’m not ready. I need more time to prepare!

Does this sound like you? Maybe you want to start a blog, or a business, or launch an offer, but this mindset is holding you back from getting started.

It can be such a burden to feel like you need to know all of the things before you say yes to doing something that you want to do. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

My guest today didn’t always feel like she could do it all. She had two young kids, a home in Ohio, a Silicon Valley job and she was just trying to figure out how to keep going in the right direction. She already knew it was possible to have it all, but she brought a community of women together and explored exactly HOW to have it all.

In this episode, I talk to JJ DiGeronimo about why being 100% prepared is not realistic, how to create balance in your self-talk, and why you need to celebrate the small milestones.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • how it’s possible to do it all, but you need to find alignment
  • why saying no is powerful
  • how it’s possible to not attend every event for your kids without feeling bad about it
  • why gratitude is so important as a woman and a mom
  • how taking time to pause will help you appreciate your successes in your life and business

Have you ever been told you shouldn’t be doing something because it would take away from your time with your kids? And it just stops you in your tracks because now you feel guilty for doing it, or even thinking of doing it.

It’s easy to feel mom guilt when you feel other people judging you or you feel bound by societal beliefs about who you should be as a mom or you see the “perfect” moms on social media.

My guest today started her entrepreneurial journey surrounded by negative people projecting their limiting beliefs on her. Enter mom guilt. Yet somehow she was able to turn it around, become a multiple business owner, and write a book all while being a present mom for two kids under the age of two.

In this episode, I talk to Lyss Morton about societal beliefs about who you should be as a mom, how you can be “a mom AND” rather than “a mom OR”, and why you need to show up for yourself first.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • why milkshakes are in Lyss’s blood
  • how easy it can be to fit in just a little bit of time to work on your goals daily
  • why quality time is so important over quantity of time
  • about the paradox of motherhood
  • how you don’t know what’s going on behind closed doors
  • why you should define what YOU want
  • how to break through the limiting beliefs about who society thinks you should be as a mom
  • why you need to constantly evolve as a parent and business owner
  • one thing you can do immediately to change your mindset and limiting beliefs that cause your mom guilt

Thank you for listening!

Have you ever gotten the advice to just keep pushing? That you need to be consistent day in and day out to succeed or that you need to be “on” all the time?

It’s so easy to feel like a failure when that advice doesn’t work, but did you know that advice is based on men’s time and energy cycles, not women’s?

My guest today tried to follow that same advice. She worked, and hustled, and kept going until she reached the point of complete burnout. And when she sought help, she was told to keep going, but instead she did research and learned how women’s time functions differently from men’s due to their menstrual cycle.

In this episode, I talk to Renae Fieck about the difference between men and women’s hormonal cycles, how the energy cycle looks and feels for women, and how to leverage each phase in your cycle.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • how most women aren’t learning that men and women’s energy cycles are different until they’re in their 30s or 40s
  • how fresh air and fruit trees are a grounding experience
  • why so many changes and pivots in business can make it easier to show up in the end
  • how estrogen is a get stuff done hormone
  • why you should think of yourself like a Tesla
  • about the menstrual phase, the follicular phase, the ovulatory phase, and the

Do you work from home? It can be super-hard to establish boundaries and get “me time” when you’re a work from home mom.

You wake up in mom mode, go into work mode when you work on your business (and often have mom mode distractions thrown in), then immediately switch back into mom mode / wife mode / homemaker mode as soon as you open your office door. Where’s your “me time”?

And if we’re being completely honest here, most men don’t have this problem. They open that office door or come home from work and then they can usually take time to play video games, drink a beer, or use the bathroom alone.

When you have a business, boundaries are crucial to your life and sanity.

My guest today has first hand knowledge of what it’s like not to have those critical boundaries, how to establish the boundaries you need and implement them in your home.

In this episode, I talk to Sasha Willis about why boundaries are important, ideas of things to automate so you can take a break from your business without pressure, and why it’s important to get away every once in a while to reconnect with yourself.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • how, even though our business might not feel like work sometimes, it’s still important to set boundaries so we can have freedom
  • how there’s always more to do in your business so you can’t just work until you’re done
  • what it’s like to take a vacation and not be worried about how your business will function without you
  • how you are allowed to dictate who has access to your time, to your energy, when they have access, and not feel bad about it
  • why you should purposefully set time aside for yourself weekly to do something that lights you up… without feeling guilty
  • how a morning routine or evening routine can allow you “me time” no matter what else happens during the day

You started your business and immediately made a ton of money, paid all of the bills in your home, retired your husband, and were extremely successful, right?

Me neither. So many mom entrepreneurs are building their businesses but they’re not the breadwinner of their family. And although it’s not often talked about, there are some that don’t have to work, but instead they choose to start their businesses to fulfill an innate desire.

My guest today isn’t the breadwinner in her family and her family doesn’t need her to bring in additional income to pay the bills. She works because she desires to help other women and this frees her from the pressure to sell.

In this episode, I talk to Jess Doman about how having to work differs from wanting to work and the magic that creates, why negative energies around failures can repel positive future results, and how we often will relate money to worthiness.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • How flipping the belief from being on all the time in every area allows the pressure to come off
  • How balance doesn’t mean everything is equal all the time
  • Why it’s possible to be a great coach and mentor even if you don’t need to work
  • How time constraints on your goals can handcuff the Universe
  • Why what you share about money in your business is a choice
  • How choosing a coach isn’t based on their income

Thank you for listening!

Raise your hand if you love selling in your business! Anyone? Hello? Is anyone there?

Yeah, I didn’t raise my hand either. Sometimes selling just feels icky or hard, and it’s definitely never been my favorite thing. But it’s also something you can’t afford to ignore if your business is about providing a product or service.

What if I told you that there’s a way to make sales better? To make them easier and more effective with the audience you already have. To stop throwing spaghetti at the wall and wondering if it’ll stick, but knowing that it’ll stick.

My guest today spent 10 years in sales with a Fortune 500 company then decided to start her own business so she could bring her knowledge and experience and passion for sales to the rest of us! She believes that if sales are fun, engaging, and profitable, you’ll fall in love with sales in your business too.

In this episode, I talk to Michelle Terpstra about why analyzing your no’s is CRUCIAL to making future sales, how not only are you your thoughts but you can also choose which thoughts you are, and what simple action you can take today to improve on your sales immediately.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • How supportive her husband was when she decided to leave the corporate world and go out on her own (#relationshipgoals)
  • How owning an online business is about having choices and flexibility
  • Why participation in team sports is a requirement for her kids, and her sales teams
  • What “I don’t have the money” really means
  • Why communicating and nurturing relationships is super important, along with reciprocity in networking
  • How important it is to be resilient in your business (and how sometimes it’s all about the process)
  • Why you should do the most joyful things in your business first

Thank you for listening!

Michelle is a Sales Leadership Mentor for entrepreneurs helping founders master selling and then step into their CEO role by hiring a sales team. Ever feel like the hot mess express online? Like maybe you don’t want to post anything because your life isn’t picture perfect? Maybe you have dishes in the sink, the dogs are barking, the baby’s trying to eat the dog food that you accidentally left out…

Your life isn’t perfect, but guess what? Neither is mine. And more than likely no mom out there has a perfectly choreographed idyllic life. If you see that online, it’s because they’ve chosen to only show the good stuff.

I don’t know about you, but that doesn’t feel real to me. It’s really hard to connect to perfect when my life is anything but! I feel a connection to the imperfect moms.

My guest today seems like an open book online, but that’s because she has made a conscious decision to be vulnerable. This decision has made her stand out in the digital world and made a huge impact on her business.

In this episode, I talk to Megan Gillespie about embracing the mindset of being a boss lady with a baby, how taking pieces of yourself and infusing them into your business is how you start to take the shift to being vulnerable, and how crucial community and being heard is to being a mom entrepreneur.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • Who you should invite to your next event if you want a personalized rap (hint: it’s not Tab!)
  • How taking 10-15 minutes of undistracted, intentional Mommy and me time daily with your kids can fill your connection cup and impact your kids
  • How sharing that you’re a mom allows you to find common ground and connect on a deeper level with your clients
  • What it means to be vulnerable in your business, the different levels of vulnerability, and that you can choose how vulnerable you want to be (it’s not all or nothing!)
  • How being vulnerable can be inspirational for other moms who need it

Thank you for listening!

It’s time for your annual family photo! There’s a big event, or maybe you’re getting ready to send your Christmas card and want some great posed photos.

That means it’s also time to spend all the money to get the perfect photo… and hopefully your kids and your significant other will show up, follow directions, and smile like they want to be there.

But what about the other moments that happen throughout the day (and throughout the year!)? What about your child’s first steps, your kids playing a board game together, building sand castles on the beach. These beautiful moments are the perfect times to take candid shots and be in the moment.

My guest today has been a professional photographer for over a decade, but one of her favorite things to photograph will always be her own family. She loves inspiring and encouraging other moms to pick up a camera and document their lives (including getting in more pictures with their kids!) simply and creatively.

In this episode, I talk to Stacy Canzonieri about the importance of both posed photos and candid at home shots, how taking photos helps you to slow down and be present in the moments, and creative photo ideas to capture those moments.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • How sometimes the best photos are the imperfect moments
  • Why we need to get past the excuses and get into photos with our kids
  • Where to start when it comes to taking these photos
  • We’re not taking the photos for us - it’s for our kids 10, 20, 30 years down the road!

Thank you for listening!

Have you ever experienced trauma? If you have, then you know that it can have a dramatic impact on your life. You’ll feel the impact when it happens and then it’ll continue to leave you feeling its repercussions for days, weeks, months, and possibly even years after.

Trauma often feels stressful, overwhelming, and painful. but did you know that it doesn’t have to stay that way?

My guest today is living proof that trauma can be transformed. She took the trauma she experienced growing up and channeled it into something better, something beautiful. She learned to see the beauty under the boulders.

In this episode, I talk to Susan Gold about what happens after trauma, ways to overcome self-sabotage, and how community has made an impact in her life.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:
How a woman’s spidey sense is helpful as a woman, entrepreneur, and mama (and how Barbara Walters used hers to help Susan in a tough situation)
The answer is yes, until it’s no
Several ways to begin to address your self-sabotage

Have you ever felt alone as a mom and entrepreneur? You’re doing all the things, taking care of your family, your home, your business, and getting stressed out and frustrated because it’s just hard to be a mom sometimes, let alone being an entrepreneur too.

It can feel even harder when you start a podcast and you’re putting yourself out there, talking to an empty room and hoping that someone will listen and that your words will make an impact.

My guest today knows all about it. In her time of need as a mom, she experienced the value of community. Later, as a podcast host, then certified Podcast Guesting Strategist, she has become a leader in cultivating a thriving community.

In this episode, I talk with Amanda Bennett about the psychology of connection, relationship marketing, and how community can be mutually benefitting for everyone involved.

An entrepreneur’s life is chock-full of moments where quitting feels like the only option, especially for those stuck in the hamster wheel of comparison, measuring their success against the achievements of other entrepreneurs.

But how do you even know if you’re successful? Is it by revenue? Number of followers? When we don’t understand our target, we fall into this perpetual cycle of starting over instead of keeping consistent and getting clear on what it takes to make our one offer better.

What would happen if you didn’t give up and instead committed to keep going, one step at a time?

In this episode, I talk with Amanda Walker about achieving clarity, taking ownership of your challenges, and how to take consistent action to move toward your goals instead of away from them.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • Embracing “Why Not Me?” experiences
  • Being at cause vs. being in effect
  • Shifting from away-from motivation to toward motivation

Must-listen moments:

[00:06:00] You're allowed to be a work in progress and change lives at the same time.

[00:13:40] What we end up doing through this process of business growth is that we don't look at data. We look at our feelings and we let our feelings be the guide for how we make business decisions.

[00:22:22] This takes a lot of grit…this requires us to believe in a future that does not yet exist and when we can just totally get clear on what that is, then we are always in that consistent action place.

Thank you for listening!

In sales, the name of the game is “like, know, trust”. Your clients need to find your content relatable and above all, they must feel valued and excited instead of bullied and pressured into working with you.

With the right words and mindset, you have the ability to create an amazing experience that convinces your audience to not just want to buy from you but to truly believe you are the solution to their problem.

In this episode, Kayla Ybanez joins me to share the power of language, why sales don’t have to be sleazy, and blessings go both ways in business.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • Using language that passes the “purse test”
  • Sales as the transfer of belief and creating exciting experiences
  • Shifting your sales mindset to win-win vs. win-lose

Must-listen moments:

[00:05:29] People buy from others who they know, like, and trust, and they need to trust that what you are selling them or what you're delivering to them is what they truly need. So, the language that you use either allows them to believe that or not.

[00:13:15] You can create that type of buying experience for the person who is coming to you. Whether they're coming to you or you're proposing an idea to them, it's about intention and it's about what you want to create in that experience.

[00:27:21] I Choose to make sales a win-win. Yes, I'm getting monetarily compensated but they're getting something they need. When you go into a sales process not thinking you're doing something wrong because you're quote, unquote, taking their money, it's gonna change how you show up.

Now is the time to increase the visibility of your business but not sure how to do it.

Aimlessly posting on social media or sending cold emails with no response can get overwhelming fast. Many business owners use a copy-and-paste, inauthentic approach to pitching instead of creating genuine connections and sharing how they help others.

Thankfully, I’ve got Allison Carter here to demystify pitching with simple steps that’ll increase your confidence and boost your visibility pronto.

Allison also shares 5 Basic Parts of a Pitch:

1 - Introduction - Introduce yourself and what you do.
2- Connection - Create a genuine connection to their show, service, etc.
3 - Credibility - Establish your credibility and how you relate to the audience they serve.
4 - Story Ideas - Provide a bulleted list of topics you can share with their audience
5 - Confident Closing - Sign off on your pitch as you’ve already agreed to work together: “Let me know when there's a time to mark my calendar for this interview.”

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • How pitching equates to serving and creates connection and trust
  • Breaking down the what, who, and how of pitching
  • Advice for sharing your unique perspective around tangible topics
  • Benefits of the Basic Pitch Club Membership Community

Must-listen moments:

[00:08:07] That is how you really show up and serve because that connection piece, that trust-building piece is at the heart of every single thing that you do. It should be at the heart of all content that you put out.

[00:20:42] We are going to confidently end our pitch because confidence matters massively. You cannot just sell me on all of this stuff and talk about how you are the best person for this spot and then be like, thank you so much for the consideration.

[00:31:10] Figure out what you want to talk about and then lean into creating content about that topic. If you have one piece of content that you really want your people to know…write a blog post about it. Write an email about it. Do a reel about it. Do a story series about it. Do work around it.

Thank you for listening!

Building a business is hard enough without worrying about the unwritten rules of social media that often change on a whim and without notice.

What if you could “ditch the social drama” and create the business you want without going bananas? How great would it be to focus on what you actually like doing and what honors your time? Thankfully, Holly Marie Haynes offers an anti-social approach to help build and scale your business without a ton of extra stress.

In this episode, I talk with Holly Marie Haynes about how to connect with your audience, even when they’re not on social media, and why getting clear on how you help others is key to creating new opportunities to expand your network and business.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • Creating capacity for opportunities to come your way
  • Building an anti-social plan and knowing your ideal client
  • Tapping into other communities and sharing a clear “I help” statement

Must-listen moments:

[00:04:01] You have to create the white space in the capacity for you to be able to accept more.

[00:09:55] You have to do things that feel good for you…you might be able to take one or two things that I do and then apply it to what you do, but you have to really think about where do your clients hang out? It might be social media, but it might not be.

[00:19:53] When you do have the opportunities to network and actually put yourself out there, you wanna make sure your message of how you help people is crystal clear, and it takes practice.

Thank you for listening!

Ever have an idea you think would help a lot of people but aren’t sure how to get the word out or create a business plan around it?

My Membership Success Accelerator might be just what you’ve been looking for to take your big idea to the next level. This program offers consistent accountability and a safe space to share your questions, worries, and wins with other mom entrepreneurs in the same boat as you.

In this episode, I’ve invited Courtney to share the invaluable lessons she’s received from the Membership Success Accelerator and why if you’re on the fence about joining, you should hop on over and go for it!

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • How it feels to find a coach that aligns with you
  • Benefits of a roadmap and supportive community
  • The value you offer plus the value of boundaries

Must-listen moments:

[00:05:10] I felt heard and seen by you, which is what I want to give through my membership, and so it just felt aligned.

[00:08:20] I've been able to block out the big ideas that I come up with or things that just aren't serving me right now in this moment. The roadmap that you've given us with the content and also the accountability in the community has really allowed me to stay on track.

[00:12:52] My biggest takeaway from that though is that I am valuable and I need to value myself and so I can still help everybody. But I can still niche down to the people that I know are the most effective people that I can help right now, and being able to have those boundaries has been really helpful to me.

Thank you for listening!

A mentor with a proven system and a community can catapult your business to the next level in a way you cannot believe.

Your ideal community brings a positive perspective and synergy that helps you recognize new opportunities so you can chase your little kids and your big dreams.

In this episode, I share why working with a coach with a community of like-minded moms for support and accountability can enhance your experience.

The power of community is HUGE:

Reciprocal Energy: Members of a community help each. Other group members reciprocate your energy, momentum builds, and even as a coach, you are learning and growing with your group. Working with a coach who has an engaged community is a vital and valuable element in growing your influence.

Lifting One Another: You need a strategy and mindset with a coach and a community to match to get you to the next level.

Don’t Go It Alone: Find the best mentor out there for you. Work with someone who shares the same values as you and who resonates with your desired lifestyle of working less, leveraging your time intelligently, and keeping things simple.

Believe in Yourself: Success is 80% mindset and 20% strategy, which is why being with others and doing what you love helps bolster your self-belief. As humans, we are all about self-fulfilling prophecies — we create the reality we believe we can have, and sometimes we need to make mindset shifts to realize our full potential.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • How to condense decades into days as an entrepreneur
  • Why mindset and self-belief are the keys to up-leveling your destiny
  • How to focus your efforts to get to your destination faster with the Online Membership Success Accelerator

Must-listen moments:

[00:01:00] Everyone should have a mentor to work with that they align with. Stick with someone who has similar values and breaks them down into small steps, and holds you accountable for taking consistent action to take those steps.

[00:09:30] We create the reality we believe we can have. Everything starts with your beliefs, and a community is the best way to shift your beliefs at a deep level. You need feedback, and other people reassuring you that you can do it.

[00:19:53] Success doesn't come from doing what works for others. It's about creating something meaningful that leverages your gifts, talent, skills, and experiences to impact your clients and your family positively.

You don't have to choose between baking cookies with your kids and contributing to the household income.

Compounding your income with an irresistible signature membership offer is a fantastic way to spend less time in the weeds of selling and more time serving yourself and your clients.

In this episode, I discuss how you can sell once and make money on repeat by starting a membership program.

5 Ways Creating a Membership Boosts your Income:

1-Stop Trading Time for Money: Ditch the hustle and grind of having to work more hours. A membership can give your clients the ongoing support they need to achieve results.

2-Build a Community: Create an environment where people help each other and leverage your members' collective knowledge, wisdom, and experience to help everyone get better results.

3- Ongoing Support: Going on the journey with your clients differentiates you as a coach. When you care about your clients' results, you’re not just selling a promise; you’re ensuring the promise is fulfilled.

4- Create Recurring Revenue: Quantity x Price = Revenue. Memberships create reoccurring revenue that allows you to hit revenue goals and spend more time with your family.

5- Make a Positive Income: Design your schedule so you’re doing work you love on a schedule that suits your family and lifestyle while allowing you to positively impact the world.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • Pro-tips for creating long-term reoccurring income
  • The difference between group coaching, membership programs, and masterminds
  • How to build your offer to match your ideal revenue.

Must-listen moments:

[00:00:20] Compound interest has been called the world's eighth wonder — even Albert Einstein called it the greatest mathematical concept of our time. That's what a membership does for your business. It allows you to build daily cash flow

[00:08:33] You can easily scale your time by serving more members because the nature of the membership is ongoing. There's ongoing accountability, support, and encouragement because people need that for consistency. They pay you to help them be consistent then they pay consistently.

[00:10:00] Your program is not selling right now because your ideal client might be confused by your offers. Create a business model that puts your sales automatically on repeat to help you organically and magnetically attract and retain new members to your membership.

Begin with the end in mind. Laser focus can build your momentum so much faster than trying to be everywhere at once to help scale your business and your income.

Memberships are a great way to create a constant stream of income as a coach - especially if you are intentional about what you want to achieve for yourself and for clients.

In this episode, I share how you can increase your income by focusing on creating ONE irresistible signature offer and ONE way of marketing it.

Try these steps for creating an income that allows you to spend more time with your kids:

Stop Discounting Your Expertise: Don’t get caught in the trap of undervaluing your impact. Concentrate on creating a high-profit business while working less so you can be a present mom. Remember, simplicity sells complexity repels.

A Scalable Business: Start with your ideal income in mind, so you can be intentional in creating your signature offer that clients love and want to share with all their friends.

Aligned Goal Setting: The key to transformational results is giving members actionable steps to take and creating a space where they have the accountability they need to be consistent in their efforts.

From Information to Transformation: Forget giving your clients information overload - create a framework to provide value without taking more of your time.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • Why having a financial goal in mind helps you focus
  • The problem with having too many courses or products
  • How networking and collaboration can explode your influence

Must-listen moments:

[00:03:00] With a membership, your time scales easily whether you have one member or a thousand members. And your time commitment, the way I teach you to design it will be approximately the same.

[00:07:00] Give your members what they ask for. Layer in value, so your members get more than just content.

[00:09:00] Your members will have ongoing accountability for consistent action, and consistent action over time is going to get them way better results.

Mindset is crucial for building online success, but many business owners need outside support to make a positive shift to increase their confidence, clarity, and balance.

Entrepreneurs are often open to business coaching but can struggle to cut through the noise and find a coach that aligns with their values and goals.

In this episode, Jennifer and I discuss how to bust through some common limiting beliefs that many of us have around believing that it’s too hard to find someone you can trust.

3 Potential Red Flags When Considering Working with a New Coach:

1- Beware of Guaranteed Results: When a coach offers guaranteed results when you work with them — beware! Your coach can never actually guarantee results because even if they have a fantastic formula, they are only one side of the equation. You, as the client, have to hold up your end of the bargain, and your coach has no way of knowing that you’ll put in the work required.

2- No Discovery Session: It’s wise to be skeptical of anyone who doesn't offer you a free introductory session. When you’re making plans to have a long-term business relationship with a coach, you should expect to have a discovery call where you get to know one another and check you’re on the same page.

3- Limited Resource Access: It’s a big red flag if your access to resources that your coach shares are limited. Lifetime access to materials is important. After all, if you're buying into something, you should be able to go back and reference it as needed.

Our recommendations? Don’t let yourself be forced into making a decision you’re not ready to make by high-pressure sales techniques. Do your research. Ensure you can speak to the coach making the offer before you buy.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • How to find a coach you really vibe with
  • Some of the mindset shifts we need to make to achieve our business goals and how to move past limiting beliefs
  • Why we should reframe what we perceive as failures into learning opportunities

Must-listen moments:

[00:20:00] It's important to know what you’re buying before you sign up for something. So ask yourself, ‘What do I need in my business right now?’

[00:24:00] Don't let yourself be pressured. If a coach is the right fit, then great! If you have reservations, give yourself some time; if your intuition is saying something's off, listen. Wait until you find someone you feel confident in.

[00:36:00] A good coach is going to help you with not just the strategy but also with the mindset. You have to be willing to learn from your failures. There's no such thing as failure; it's just feedback, and if you can shift your mindset to knowing that, every single thing that happens is just feedback.

Whether you consider yourself an introvert or an extrovert, finding connection and community that aligns with your values is crucial to both your personal and professional life.

Despite what society might tell us, we are not machines. We can’t do it all. Instead, we need space to nourish what we do best and deserve people in our corner rooting for us and ready to help if needed.

In this episode, Shannon Siriano Greenwood joins me to share not just why we all need community, but how to find and cultivate real connections that turn into supportive and lasting relationships.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • Shifting social connections and why you need intergenerational friendships
  • Advice for overcoming limiting beliefs around the value you offer
  • Suggestions for growing sustainable and supportive relationships

Must-listen moments:

[00:05:01] Relying on each other and supporting each other is actually a skill that you need to develop and cultivate that just wasn't a priority when we were growing up.

[00:12:04] Especially for mom, business owners, and I see this all the time, we are the caregivers, we are the helpers, we are the ones that wanna swoop in and fix all the problems. And then to ask for money after that is often uncomfortable.

[00:17:42] When you're talking about the value of community, it internally fills me up. It supports me when I need it in my real life, but it also is literally a value that I'm walking around with that I can give out whenever I want to, whoever I want.

[00:29:21] I just had to pay someone to do it. And I realize that's not accessible for everyone. But if it is accessible for you, it is not a failure to pay for people to help you because we're supposed to have that help.

Thank you for listening!

More moms are becoming entrepreneurs because we think it’ll give us the freedom to be with our kids, to make our own schedules, to enjoy limitless income potential. But then we wind up in the exact opposite situation, working even harder than we did in a 9-5 job, leading to overwhelm and questioning if we’re on the right path.

We begin searching for answers outside of ourselves, when in reality we already have what it takes to be successful and just need to commit to building our capacity to carry a bigger life.

In this episode, life and success coach Emilie Karun joins me to share how we can shift out of limiting beliefs, meet the monsters that hold us back, heal ourselves and become the woman we are meant to be.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • Shifting from working really hard on all the wrong things
  • Committing to your growth and getting ready for what you want
  • Building your inner strength and learning to trust yourself

Remember to listen to the nudges and whispers, and do that thing you’ve been putting off!

Must-listen moments:

[00:04:19] Write your own story. Take back the pen and decide what comes next.

[00:13:31] We're searching for the answer outside of ourselves as we've been taught our whole lives. And then we also are taught to fear failure when failure is literally the price of admission. You cannot get good at anything without failing.

[00:27:03] You know enough, you're smart enough, you're good enough, you have enough. You don't need another strategy. You need to build up your inner strength to carry a bigger life. That is the work. Quit chasing the shiny objects of the next thing that's gonna give you the answers. You have the answers, you need to learn to trust yourself.

Thank you for listening!

Sometimes we get wrapped up in trying to create bigger and better experiences for ourselves that we forget to just enjoy the present moment.

The present moment is truly all we’re ever guaranteed, and the more we can appreciate the little things we have in life, the more gratitude and fulfillment we’ll experience.

In this episode, I share 5 easy ways to be a more present mom by focusing on simple pleasures with your kids.

5 Easy Ways to be a More Present Mom TODAY:

1-Laugh More: Laugh with your kids, watch a comedy show with your husband, spend more time with the friends who make you laugh, take a laughter yoga class- do whatever brings more laughter into your day!

2-The Snuggle is Real: Wrap your softest blanket or robe over your shoulders and over your littles to snuggle them in with you. Feel the soft material on your skin, wrap your body around their squishy little form, while feeling the warmth rising in your body.

3- Noticing the Details: Look into your kid’s eyes as they tell you a story they're super excited about. Notice the intensity and sparkle in their eyes, how they nod their head and expressions emerge and fade, and how the story is punctuated with silliness and laughter. Absorb each moment!

4- Giving and Receiving smiles: Smile at your children often and even at random strangers you see. Our brains have mirror neurons, which means they're wired to mirror those around us. What you put out, you get back, you smile at others, and when they smile back, they get another dose of feeling good.

5- The Endorphin Rush after Exercise: Exercise in the morning to use that endorphin rush to help you feel present and productive throughout the entire day. Even just a walk with your kiddos can be energizing, and not only are you modeling a healthy lifestyle for your kids, but you'll all feel happier, more optimistic, and at ease.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • Protip for an instant mood boost
  • Creating a ripple effect of positive feelings
  • Why you don’t have to wait for expensive fun

Must-listen moments:

[00:01:38] It's so much easier to be present when we appreciate and enjoy the simple things and the gratitude we feel will overflow into other areas of our lives as well.

[00:06:38] Your smile can change the world…it creates a positive ripple effect of your energy in the universe.

[00:09:06] Instead of waiting for your next vacation to be the fun present mom you want to be, indulge in more of these simple pleasures and be a more present mom today.

Thank you for listening!

Finding a balance between being a mom and an entrepreneur is challenging enough without the added stress of homeschooling your kid.

But what if there was a way to homeschool your children that allowed you to slow down and focus on bonding with your kids while you build your business—without having to sacrifice precious time and energy?

In this episode, CEO of HomeschoolToGo Houlie Duque joins me to share how her fabulous program allows you to build your mompreneur empire without compromising your relationship or time with your kids.

Houlie suggests one thing moms can immediately do to get started on their own teaching and connecting adventure with their family is to create a rhythm calendar. Tracking everything you do from the moment you wake up until the moment you go to bed can help you become more intentional with your time and realize where you can inject bonding time with your children.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • Keeping your purpose present and using the 80/20 rule
  • Creative delegating and common mental blocks to overcome
  • Benefits of community and cultivating connection
  • Action item: Create a rhythm calendar for two weeks

Must-listen moments:

[00:09:25] It really comes to having your purpose always present…and to set boundaries with yourself and your business.

[00:13:48] Be aware of the places where you have 20%, where you can put 20% effort to create 80% productivity and try to outsource everything else so that you can still keep that energy for your most rewarding experience.

[00:18:00] Obviously, it varies with the lifestyles, but it's breaking through that barrier of thinking that your life has already been designed for you. No, you can design your life for yourself.

[00:28:55] The actionable thing that they can do is create a rhythm calendar for two weeks, look back at it and realize where are the times where you can inject learning?

Thank you for listening!

About Houlie Duque:

Houlie is originally from Colombia, and currently resides in New Brunswick, Canada. She is the mother to HomeschoolToGo, as well as Gio Maz. When Gio was born in the midst of the pandemic in 2020, she decided it was time to put her 10 years of teaching experience to work, in order to craft the curriculum of her dreams. One that prioritized both children and mothers within a holistic lifestyle, and a peaceful rhythm of life. Now sets holistic moms up all around the world with Waldorf, Montessori and Cambridge Educational tools, so they can homeschool their children the way they dreamed of, in under 10h per week.

Every day we have mantras or beliefs that we subconsciously tell ourselves without even realizing it.

These beliefs can be empowering or disempowering and can shape how we choose to show up for ourselves.

NLP, or neuro-linguistic programming, focuses on rewiring your brain by using your words and aligning the conscious with the subconscious through different practices. Our words, or our beliefs, are spoken over us from the moment we are born, some are passed down generationally, while others are created when we repeat the same thought over and over again.

In this episode, I’ve invited Mindi Huebner to talk about how we can rewire our brains to release limiting beliefs, and why curiosity is key to figuring out who we want to be and what action we can take to make it happen today.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • Rewiring your brain to work for you vs. against you
  • The power of curiosity and taking small steps to new beliefs
  • Casting your vision and expanding your identity
  • How community has played a role in the success of Mindy’s business

Must-listen moments:

[00:05:29] That was a moment for me to tap into more intuition, more spirituality, and, and those things that come along with that in order to have more harmony in my energies…and eventually get to the belief that rest was no longer lazy. Rest is essential to productivity and creativity.

[00:13:29] You are so capable and worthy of shifting, of reframing, of casting a vote in a new direction and starting that new neuro pathway.

[00:29:00] You're shifting your filter and you're bringing the unconscious conscious. You're allowing your brain to delete, distort, and generalize based on this new belief, this expanded belief of yourself.

Thank you for listening!

A gratitude practice is a tried and true method for living your best life.

It can be as simple as naming 3 things you’re grateful for each day or you can choose to level up your practice with more variety, details, and well—gratitude!

In this episode, I share 5 qualities to transform your gratitude practice that you can easily implement today.

5 Qualities of a Transformational Gratitude Practice:

1- Brain dump of everything you’re grateful for: You can include anything big or small, a step in the name of progress or even a failure that taught you something valuable.

2- Use a variety of prompts: Instead of just staying “I’m grateful for”, try adding in other phrases like “I’m truly blessed to have…” or “Thank you for this awesome thing” to help change up and add some fun to your practice.

3-Include WHY you’re grateful: Take a moment to reflect on why you’re grateful for each thing and notice how your gratitude increases.

4-Read your list aloud and say thank you: After you write your list, speak it out loud and say thank you three times to elevate your mood and “spin the positive”.

5-Practice gratitude DAILY: Make gratitude part of your daily routine so it’s easier to stay consistent and receive the benefits it provides.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • Concentric circle practice for when gratitude is challenging
  • How being grateful for gratitude can lift your mood
  • Suggestions for practicing daily and seeking accountability

Must-listen moments:

[00:05:53] The purpose of a gratitude practice is to notice the amazing things that we have in our lives, and to feel grateful for them, but also to feel the emotions of gratitude and explaining why you're grateful makes all the difference.

[00:07:00] In neurolinguistic programming or NLP, this is called spinning the positive, where you just get more and more emotional in that positive direction…feeling the gratitude and then remembering that you were just feeling the gratitude and then being even grateful for the gratitude...

[00:08:16] It just brings this idea of gratitude to your awareness so much more frequently throughout the day, which is going to help you feel the feelings more often and more consistently.

When November rolls around, it’s easy to think about Thanksgiving and being thankful, but practicing gratitude truly is a different state of mind. More research and studies are coming out every day that prove what a powerful game-changer gratitude can be when it comes to your sleep, mood, relationships, and overall happiness.

In this episode, I share five reasons gratitude makes you a more present and profitable mom and why it’s worth practicing immediately.

5 Reasons to Practice Gratitude

1- You’ll sleep better: One study showed those who learned how to practice gratitude fell asleep faster, slept longer, and felt better throughout the day.

2- Boosts your mood: By focusing on the good, there is less room to think about the bad. Starting your day with gratitude sets a positive mood for the entire day.

3- Helps you be more patient: Practicing gratitude can help you feel more calm and make more sensible decisions.

4- It improves relationships: When you are joyful, others reflect it back to you and you feel more connected to them.

5- Creates lasting happiness: It leads to much more sustainable forms of happiness because it's not based on immediate gratification.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • The power of acknowledging 3 good things a day
  • How gratitude creates connection in relationships
  • Action item: Tell a friend you’re grateful for them and why

What are you most grateful for in your life right now?

Must-listen moments:

[00:01:30] Feeling grateful means you'll attract even more things to be grateful for, what you appreciate, appreciates.

[00:05:13] A side benefit of focusing on gratitude and the awesome things in our lives is that it automatically means there is less time for viewing the world from a pessimistic perspective.

[00:10:00] When you learn how to practice gratitude, you learn how to cultivate a grateful state of mind, and that is the big difference.

The Membership Success Accelerator is a powerful community of like-minded moms and entrepreneurs, all learning from each other and working toward a common goal of launching a membership.

I could go on, but the best way to learn about a program is to hear from someone who’s actually in the program. Michelle is a member of the Membership Success Accelerator and I’ve invited her to give you a peek behind the scenes.

In this episode, I talk with Michelle about what she’s learned as a Membership Success Accelerator member and how making your vision a reality is possible with the right steps and community.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • Difference between social media groups vs. memberships
  • Michelle’s biggest win of being in the Membership Success Accelerator
  • The power of learning and doing in a supportive community

Must-listen moments:

[00:04:50] You helped me move quicker in the process. and you've guided me step by step so it makes it much more doable instead of overwhelming, and making this vision of mine come to life, which I'm really grateful for. ~Michelle

[00:07:25] We learn from each other and it's this incredible synergy. We all just have such great ideas for each other, and if one person has an amazing idea for their membership and they share it, and then someone else says “That's brilliant. I'm gonna do that in my membership.” And it’s just brilliant how it all comes together.

[00:10:20] I’m definitely a big fan of done is better than perfect. Another thing that I love about memberships, is when you launch them, you're launching the same thing. So you can do it once, see what works, see what doesn't, and then tweak it for the future.

Community is the final piece of the 3 C’s critical to offering a successful membership. Creating a supportive community isn’t as difficult as it may sound, and your members will benefit from connecting with others with similar goals and challenges.

In this episode, I share 3 ways to build a community that will help members achieve their goals with more positivity, support, and motivation.

3 Ways Building Community Helps Members Achieve Their Goals

1- Positive Environment: Create an uplifting, empowering, enriching, supportive environment that will benefit members and have a positive ripple effect.

2- Opportunity to Network: It's not what you know. It's who you know. Create an opportunity for every member to connect with the members who are in your community around the topic you help with, but also in other areas of life.

3- Progress Recognition: It's amazing for members to see other members who were where they once were. Helping each other is a powerful reminder of the progress that they’ve made.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • Side benefits of creating a community
  • Connecting with those who can help you
  • Public accountability, motivation, and raving fans

How will you implement what you’ve learned today and cultivate networking among your membership community?

Must-listen moments:

[00:04:03] When your members are at their most overwhelmed, exhausted, burned-out feeling, and ready to give up on whatever it is that you help with, this community you have created will be there to catch them.

[00:10:03] Community is the best-kept secret for any niche, for both getting your clients' results and creating a community that you love guiding and participating in.

[00:10:48] When you get really close with your membership and build a supportive community, those are the people who are not only going to support each other, but they're also going to support you.

Coaching is another one of the 3 C’s crucial to offering a successful membership.

There are many different ways to approach coaching, and it’s important to figure out what your members need most.

In this episode, I share 3 ways to make your membership more meaningful with coaching focused on action and accountability.

3 Ways to Add Coaching to Your Membership

1- Host Live Q & A Sessions: Let members share whatever they need help with in real time to guide them where they are stuck and struggling.

2- Provide Accountability: Understand the four tendencies people have regarding accountability (Upholder, Obliger, Questioner, Rebel) and what accountability your members need to achieve their goals, whether it’s check-in forms or community posts.

The 4 Tendencies:

  • 1- Upholder: meet their own expectations and outer expectations.
  • 2- Obliger: meet outer expectations but resists inner expectations.
  • 3- Questioner: meets expectations only if they believe it is justified.
  • 4- Rebel: tend to resist inner and outer expectations, do not like control.

3- Group Coaching Sessions: Expose members to outside perspectives and let them learn from each other’s questions and experiences.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • Understanding your accountability tendency
  • Why clear action is necessary for coaching
  • Benefits of group coaching for members and coaches

Must-listen moments:

[00:03:53] Without coaching, they would stay stuck much longer and maybe not overcome that challenge at all. You know more than they do in this area, and they trust you to be their guide, so help them.

[00:10:53] That accountability is twofold to make sure that they're setting a goal, making sure that they're evaluating the goal, and then hopefully accomplishing the goal in between there.

[00:13:05] As a coach, you don't have to have all of the answers because you can't. And often, someone else has a tip or an idea to try, and that's going to be just what someone else in the membership needs.

Along with coaching and community, content is one of the 3 C’s of having a successful membership.

Creating a membership does not automatically mean you must create tons of content.

In this episode, I share 5 ways to create powerful content for your membership that will save you and your members time and energy.

5 Ways to Create Powerful Content for Your Membership:

1- Quality over quantity: Give your audience exactly what they need, nothing more, nothing less.

2- Provide clear action items: If they don’t know what action to take, nothing will change.

3- Repurpose content: Reorganize content into themes and share without having to create anything new.

4- Add content you didn’t create: Invite guest speakers or members to share their content with your membership.

5- Create a tangible tool: Create a workbook to guide members through content and save them time.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • Reorganizing and repurposing content
  • Creative ways to add content without creating it yourself
  • The importance of saving your members time

Must-listen moments:

[00:04:57] Creating content for your membership doesn't actually create more work for you, it streamlines everything else.

[00:06:13] Consider inviting guest speakers to teach on complimentary topics or maybe even, if it suits your membership, have members speak on their experience or a topic they're an expert in.

[00:10:21] Saving time is one of the biggest pain points that will help members with whatever they are trying to accomplish.

You aren’t alone if you’re a mom who has exited your corporate career with dreams of working less hours so you can have more time to spend with your children. The common thread continues as often our entrepreneurial journey gets muddled with overwhelm because as we work to build our successful business, we begin sacrificing our time and opportunities to be the present mom that we originally intended to become.

When my son first arrived, I couldn’t stand being away from him for eight-plus hours a day and knew something had to change.

In this episode, I recall my own experience as a new mom and entrepreneur, how finding community helped me combat loneliness, and I share why mindset and personal growth are key to creating the life and business you want.

In this episode, you’ll also hear:

  • Struggles of being both a mom and an entrepreneur
  • The positive ripple effect of community
  • Creating from possibility instead of circumstance
  • An easy exercise: A Day in Your Dream Life

Must-listen moments:

[00:03:26] I learned, very first thing, that I needed a community. I needed other people who actually understood what it was like to be both a mom and an entrepreneur. I needed to surround myself with people who understood both of those journeys together.

[00:06:24] When you are in a positive mood and feeling optimistic, you will notice opportunities around you instead of focusing on what's going wrong and attracting more of that. I truly believe that your focus determines your future, and what you focus on expands.

[00:07:15] Your circumstances are simply where you are right now. They are the result of past thoughts and actions and are not a representation of what you are capable of or what is possible for you.

I created this show because I believe you can chase your little kids and your big dreams and that you don't have to choose between making money or making memories if you have the right tools, mindset, and supportive community.

Thank you for listening!
