Today we discuss Trouble on Cloud City, the penultimate book of the Young Jedi Knights series. Lando is planning to open up a new theme park on Cloud City, and invites Jacen, Jaina, Tenel Ka, Zekk, and Lowie to test it out. Anja comes too, but she’s struggling with her growing friendship with the twins and her hatred of Han Solo. She’s also getting low on spice, and only Czethros can supply her with more.
Today we discuss Gathering Shadows, the next short story in Tales from the New Republic. Two soldiers are in Imperial captivity. Both have been tortured and are having difficulty recalling basic facts, like their full names or members of their own family. Meanwhile, Platt and Tru’eb are trying to rescue the third member of their crew, not realizing that they will be attempting to save a second person as well.
Today we discuss Return to Ord Mantell, the next book in the Young Jedi Knights saga. Han returns to Ord Mantell with his children. While there, they learn about Anobis, a planet that has had a civil war going on for decades. The twins also make a new friend name Anja, though she blames Han for her father’s death. Together, with the help of the other young Jedi and their new friend, they try to help the war torn world. But there’s more going on than any of them know about on Anobis.
Today, we continue Tales from the New Republic with Jade Solitaire. Ja Bardrin needs both his daughter and her ship recovered. To make sure that happens, he threatens Talon Karrde’s crew, forcing Mara Jade to step up and do the dirty work.
Today we discuss The Emperor's Plague, the final book in the Diversity Alliance saga. Jacen, Jaina, and their friends have revealed the truth about the Diversity Alliance and its plans. The only question is, will the New Republic listen to them and do something about it. Everything leads to one final confrontation at an Empire weapons depot, where countless deadly plagues await our heroes. Not everyone will make it out of this fight alive.
Today we begin the Tales from the New Republic short story collection, starting with Interlude at Darkknell, written by both Timothy Zahn and Michael A. Stackpole, their second collaboration together. Information about the Tarkin Project has leaked. Senator Garm Bel Iblis and Field Operative Ysanne Isard both travel to Darkknell to retrieve it. Meanwhile, inspector Hal Horn has chased Moranda Savich to Darkknell. Their lives all intersect when Moranda is the first one to find the datacards.
Today we discuss Jedi Bounty, the next book in the Young Jedi Knights series. Lowie has been with the Diversity Alliance for some time, and no one on Yavin 4 has heard from him. Growing concerned for their friend, Jacen, Jaina, Tenel Ka, and Raynar decide to go to Ryloth in person to see him, and rescue him if needed. Meanwhile, Zekk keeps looking for Bornan Thul, and has a terrifying realization about what’s really going on.

Grand Admiral Thrawn has commandeered a civilian ship to make a delivery to Corellia. He accompanies the ship disguised as the bounty hunter Jodo Kast. On Corellia, they run into a pair of CorSec agents, Hal and Corran Horn. The Horns and Thrawn team up to take on the Corellian Black Sun contingent.
Today we discuss Diversity Alliance, the next book in the Young Jedi Knights series. With Bornan Thul missing, Aryn Thul decides it’s time to bring Raynar home. His friends Jacen, Jaina, Tenel Ka, and Lowie accompany him, as they are all trying to find out what happened to Bornan. As they search for him, they come across a friend once thought dead. Meanwhile Zekk finds evidence of a deadly plague.
Today we discuss Do No Harm, the next short story in Tales from the Empire. Do No Harm tells the story of Doctor Aurin Leith. She's being sent on her first mission, to rescue a rebel leader. However, if he can’t be saved, they can't let him remain alive in Imperial captivity. As a doctor, Leith struggles with what the right thing to do is.
Today we continue the Young Jedi Knights series with Shards of Alderaan. The Shadow Academy has been defeated. Now it's time to rebuild the Jedi Temple. While Zekk is no longer under the sway of the dark side, he knows he can’t stay on Yavin 4. The only problem is, he doesn’t know where he’ll go next. Leia’s birthday is coming up, and Jacen and Jaina want to get her a special present. And Raynar Thul’s life is about to change in ways he could never imagine.
Today we discuss Slaying Dragons, the next short story in Tales from the Empire. Slaying Dragons tells the story of Shannon Voorson. She has developed some impressive slicing skills and her family works for Kuat Freight Port. Her life is turned upside down when her cousin Deen comes to visit. He’s a rebel, and he’s hoping his family will help him steal supplies for the Rebellion.
Today we continue the Young Jedi Knights series with Jedi Under Siege. The Shadow Academy is coming to attack Yavin 4. It’s up to Luke, Tionne, Jacen, Jaina, Tenel Ka, and Lowbacca to hold them off until reinforcements can arrive. Leading the Dark Jedi force on the ground is Zekk, the twins former best friend.
Today we discuss Blaze of Glory, the next short story in Tales from the Empire. Blaze of Glory tells the story of 4 mercenaries who are part of the Red Moon. This is Brixie Ergo’s first mission, and she’s got a lot to learn from the three veterans she’s working with. Their target, rescue two kids who have been captured by a slaver group.
Today we continue the Young Jedi Knights series with Darkest Knight. Lowie takes his friends back to his home of Kashyyyk. He’s worried about his sister and wants to help her. Now that Zekk is the Shadow Academy’s Darkest Knight, it’s time for him to lead his first mission. His target: Kashyyyk’s fabrication facilities.
Today we discuss A Certain Point of View, the next short story in Tales from the Empire. Celia Durasha works aboard the Kuari Princess, passing the time playing hologames with other crew members. But one of them starts challenging her ideas about the Empire at the same time she learns her brother was killed by the Rebellion. Complicating things even more, her ex-boyfriend is now onboard, and he’s working for the Empire.
Today we continue the Young Jedi Knights series with Lightsabers. Luke knows that the conflict between his Jedi Academy and the Shadow Academy is looming. To get ready for it, he decides it’s time for his most advanced students to build their own lightsabers. But tragedy strikes and the four best friends will never be the same.
In this special spooky episode, we discuss the fourth Galaxy of Fear book, The Nightmare Machine. Tash, Zak, Hoole, and DV-9 are visiting Hoole’s university, looking for answers. Worried about his niece and nephew, Hoole decides to take them to Hologram Fun World and leaves them there while he chases down leads elsewhere in the galaxy.
Today we discuss Retreat from Coruscant, the next short story in Tales from the Empire. Taryn Clancy delivers mail throughout the Core Systems. She’s on Coruscant making a routine delivery when the unthinkable happens. The New Republic’s capital comes under attack by Imperial forces. She, and the New Republic, quickly flee the planet. This story helps bridge the gap between the original Thrawn trilogy and Dark Empire.
Today we continue the Young Jedi Knights series with The Lost Ones. Jacen, Jaina, Tenel Ka, and Lowbacca are visiting Coruscant to see one of the twins' old childhood friends, Zekk. He’s a little older than they are and lives in the underbelly of the New Republic capital. But the Shadow Academy comes calling and their friendship will never be the same again.
Today we discuss Missed Chance, the next short story in Tales from the Empire. Corran Horn is on the run and hiding out on Garqi. He's just trying to live his life and avoid the fight between the Rebellion and Empire, but he’s quickly drawn into the conflict when a local Imperial steps over the line.

Today we discuss The Final Exit, the next short story in Tales from the Empire. Imperial Inquisitor Brandl is fleeing the Empire and returns home. He’s joined by Thaddeus Ross, a man also fleeing the Empire because there’s a price on his head.
Today we begin the Young Jedi Knights series. Jacen and Jaina Solo are students at the Yavin IV Academy. They've already made one close friend with Tenel Ka, and soon meet another in Lowbacca. The four friends find a crashed TIE Fighter out in the jungle, and things will never be the same again.
Today we discuss Tinian on Trial, the next short story in Tales from the Empire. Tinian I'att and her family are designing better stormtrooper armor for the Empire. With the money they make from the deal, Tinian's grandparents plan to retire, while she and her fiance Daye Azur-Jamin take over the factory. However, Moth Kerioth has other plans for the family.
Today we discuss Survivor's Quest. The Chiss have found the remains of Outbound Flight. The Skywalkers journey to the Unknown Regions to see its remains and are joined by the Chiss, a New Republic ambassador who isn’t, and a species who owe their survival to Outbound Flight. But none of them are prepared for what they find within the wreckage of the ship.
Today we discuss Fool's Bargain, a novella prequel to Survivor's Quest. The Empire of the Hand has come to Kariek to capure the Warlord, but some of the soldiers wonder why they are trying to capture him and not just destroy the fortress he's hiding in.
We jump back in time and discuss Outboud Flight. Jorus C’baoth is determined to get Outbound Flight off the ground, while Palpatine plans to destroy it and all the Jedi on board. In the Unknown Regions, Jorj Car’das comes into contact with an unknown species, the Chiss. The group he meets is led by a young commander named Thrawn. And for some reason, Obi-Wan and Anakin are in this book for the first two-thirds of it.
Today we start discussing Tales from the Empire with First Contact. Talon Karrde is investigating a safari on Varonat. The safari is run by Gamgalon, a Krish who Karrde knows is up to something. While there, he meets a young hyperdrive mechanic with red hair who instantly makes an impression on him.
Today we finish the Junior Jedi Knights series with Kenobi's Blade. Uldir just wants to be a Jedi but the Jedi Academy isn’t working for him. Getting desperate, he makes a choice that leads him down a dark path. Anakin, Tahiri, Tionne, Ikrit, and R2 go after their friend, hoping to save him before it’s too late.

Today we discuss Vader's Fortress, the fifth book in the Junior Jedi Knights series. Tionne returns to the Academy with news that she has learned the location of Obi-Wan Kenobi’s lightsaber. It’s at Vader’s Castle, so she, Anakin, Tahiri, Uldir, Ikrit, and R2 embark on a quest to recover the lost artifact, but meet a new villain who tempts one of them.
Today we discuss The Last One Standing: The Tale of Boba Fett. This story shows us Boba Fett at several different points in his life: it sees him as a young man before his exile, chasing Han Solo during The Empire Strikes Back, his time at Jabba's Palace during Return of the Jedi, and a much older bounty hunter chasing Kardue’Sai’Malloc and then an older Han Solo.
Today we discuss Anakin's Quest, the fourth book in the Junior Jedi Knights series. Anakin is having doubts about whether or not he should be a Jedi. After talking with his Uncle Luke, he decides he wants to go to Dagobah and visit the cave. He and Tahiri have also made a new friend, Uldir, who wants to be a Jedi. There’s just one problem: he doesn’t seem to be force-sensitive.
Today we discuss Of Possible Futures: The Tale of Zuckuss and 4-LOM. Zuckuss and 4-LOM are after Han Solo. Unlike the other bounty hunters, rather than chase their query, they decide to head for the Rebellion’s rendezvous point and capture him there. In order to be accepted by the Rebellion, they rescue some Rebel survivor’s from the Battle of Hoth.
Today we discuss Promises, the third book in the Junior Jedi Knights series. The time has come for Tahiri to return to Tatooine and choose whether or not she will continue at the Jedi Academy. She will also learn what happened to her parents, and what dark secret Sliven, the Tusken who raised her, has.
Today we discuss The Prize Pelt: The Tale of Bossk, the next short story in Tales of the Bounty Hunters. Bossk is in pursuit of Chewbacca and Han Solo. Two other bounty hunters approach him with a lead, but Tinian and Chenlambec are not who they appear to be. Bossk decides to work with them, if only to be able to get Chenlambec’s pelt.
Today we discuss Lyric's World, the second book in the Junior Jedi Knights series. Anakin and Tahiri have made a new friend, Lyric. She's seen the symbols from the Palace of the Woolanders at her home on Yavin 8. The three journey there so Lyric can undergo Changing, while Anakin and Tahiri hope to unravel the mystery of the Golden Globe.
Today we discuss Payback: The Tale of Dengar, the next short story in Tales of the Bounty Hunters. It tells the story of how Dengar ended up on Han Solo’s trail, how he ended up on the bridge of the super star destroyer, and how he met Manaroo. The Bounty Hunters War trilogy, which started coming out in 1998, has several contradictions with this story.
Today we discuss The Golden Globe, the first book in the Junior Jedi Knights series. Anakin Solo has come to the Jedi Academy and made a brand new friend Tahiri Veila. She’s from Tatooine and has had dreams of Yavin IV, but now that they’ve met, Anakin is showing up in her dreams too. Soon, Anakin is having the same dream, and it leads them both on an adventure.

Today we start going forward in the timeline again and discuss Scourge. Mander Zuma trained a Pantoran named Toro Irana. When Toro mysteriously turns up dead, it’s up to Mander and his new allies to find out what’s going on and thwart the Spice Lord.

She’s determined to make it to Mos Eisley and free her cublings.

Today we discuss Shaara and the Sarlacc: The Skiff Guard's Tale. Jabba’s entourage is on their way to the Sarlacc to feed Han, Luke, and Chewie to the monster. One of the guards strikes up a conversation with Boba Fett. He tells the legendary bounty hunter a story about the time his sister Shaara fell into the pit and survived.
Today we discuss The Mandalorian Armor, the first book in The Bounty Hunter Wars trilogy. Boba Fett has been saved by Dengar. Now they're going to team up on a job with the mysterious Neelah. In the past, Prince Xizor manipulates Boba Fett to destroy the Bounty Hunters Guild.
Today we discuss Out of the Closet: The Assassin's Tale. Dannik Jerriko has come to Jabba's Palace, and he's ready to reveal himself to increase people's fear and make their soup taste even better.
Today we discuss the Shadows of the Empire comic. In public, Prince Xizor is the head of a powerful shipping company, but in private he is in charge of Black Sun, a vast criminal empire. He is the third most powerful being in the known galaxy, behind only Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader. Xizor hates Vader and looks for ways to undermine him. When he learns of Vader’s interest in Luke Skywalker, he decides to kill the Rebel to make his rival look bad. Luke, Leia, Lando, and Chewbacca are trying to rescue Han after the events at Cloud City. Boba Fett still hasn’t made his way to Jabba’s Palace and they are trying to intercept Slave I before he gets there. To help them, they’ve hired a hotshot pilot named Dash Rendar.

Today we discuss Tongue-tied: Bubo's Tale, the story of Bubo, the frog-dog we see a number of times in Return of the Jedi, who has been in the background of a few stories in this collection. In particular, he really hates Ree-Yees. He’s also friends with the B’omarr Monks.
Today, we discuss the entirety of the Han Solo Trilogy. We'll talk at length about The Paradise Snare, The Hutt Gambit, and Rebel Dawn. The trilogy tells Han Solo’s story, from his time as a young man right up to the beginning of A New Hope. We see what he did before he joined the Imperial Academy, his time as a smuggler, and even how he crossed paths with the Rebellion in its early days. We also meet the first love of his life, Bria Tharen, who becomes one of the Rebellion’s earliest heroes.
Today we discuss A Free Quarren in the Palace: Tessek's Tale. It tells the story of the Quarren Tessek, who has appeared in several of the stories throughout this collection. Like many other characters at Jabba’s Palace, he dreams of and plots Jabba’s death. He actually has a plan to kill the Hutt that will take place the next day. There’s just one problem: a certain Jedi shows up and disrupts things.
On this special Valentine's Day episode, we discuss Star Wars: Union, which tells the story of the wedding of Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade.
Today we finish our discussion of the Hand of Thrawn duology with the second half of Vision of the Future. Tierce, Disra, and Flim develop a plan to crush Bel Iblis and prove that Grand Admiral Thrawn is back. Han and Leia are both heading to Bothawui to try to avert a civil war, while Luke and Mara get ever closer to unraveling the secret of the Hand of Thrawn.

A Bad Feeling tells the story of everyone’s favorite torture droid from Return of the Jedi, EV-9D9. We learn some of what she got up to before the events of Return of the Jedi, as well as certain characters who she has previously crossed paths with.
Today we discuss the first half of Vision of the Future, the second book in the Hand of Thrawn Duology. The New Republic is in chaos. The issue of the Bothan sabotage of the Caamas shield generators is threatening to tear the Republic apart. Pellaeon is still waiting for Bel Iblis to talk peace, while Han and Leia are taking a much needed vacation at Pakrik Major. And through it all, Jedi Master Luke Skywalker is not to be found: he’s left the known galaxy and is off to save his friend, Mara Jade.
Today we discuss The Great God Quay: The Tale of Barada and the Weequays. The story follows two groups of people. First, Barada, who is in charge of keeping Jabba’s Sail Barge running. Second, the Weequay who worship a god known as Quay. They even have a small sphere that represents Quay to them.
Today we discuss Specter of the Past, the first book in the Hand of Thrawn Duology. The Empire is on its last legs. If not for infighting in the New Republic it would be destroyed by now. Admiral Pellaeon knows this and has made what could be the most difficult decision of his career. But Moff Disra has his own plans for the Empire. Leia has taken a temporary step back from being the Chief of State of the New Republic and is on a well-deserved vacation, and Han is determined to make sure she enjoys it.

The Rationalist Party has taken center stage in galactic politics and is active in both the New Republic and Empire. They’ve made the planet of Nam Chorios a major issue, and Leia is on her way there for a secret meeting with Seti Ashgad, trying to defuse the situation.
