Fast forward just over 2 years and he is now one of the biggest names in the game. Sharing stages at SHOT show and Blade Show, collaborating with other huge brands, and having his blades featured on TV shows.

Most importantly, Chris became a close and trusted friend and I am excited to have him on the show again.

You can refer to episode 12 to learn more about Chris, his exploits as a SOF operator, and his journey into knife making.

In this episode we discuss more of the entrepreneurship journey, growth and scaling, and lessons learned along the way. We were even able to rope Chris's wife Meagan for a few questions.

This week I sit down with Ron Grobman.

Ron was the first “Tzabar” (Jewish person born in Israel) of his family which emigrated from the Soviet Union to Israel in 1992. In 2001, Ron’s family was relocated to the United States due to his fathers work. At the age of 16, Ron became the youngest certified Krav Maga instructor in the United States through Krav Maga Worldwide. Even though Israel has mandatory military service Ron did not have to serve as he left the country before age fourteen. Nevertheless, Ron always felt a strong connection to his people and his homeland and immediately after high school, joined the Israeli Defense Force.

After passing a field fitness evaluation followed by a week-long selection “Gibush” Ron was accepted into the training pipeline for the IAF commando unit, “Shaldag.” Due to injuries sustained during the arduous training Ron dropped out of his original unit and was re-assigned into a special forces reconnaissance unit called Gad’sar Nahal. During his service, Ron attained the rank of 1st sergeant and served as a sniper, with operations on the Gaza and Egyptian border as well as in the Judea and Samaria. Although Ron no longer lives in Israel, he continues to make regular trips to Israel to do his “Milium” reserve service. Shortly after his services Ron completed another instructor certification through International Krav Maga under Gabi Noah, and gained Krav Maga Trainer certification from the Wingate Institute in Israel.

Upon his return to the United States Ron worked in New York City as well as metro Detroit teaching Krav Maga to civilians and law enforcement personnel. In 2016 Ron decided to start his own company and founded Tactical Fitness in Austin, TX. The company specializes in training Krav Maga and firearms to civilians, law enforcement, and security personnel worldwide.

You carry a gun, a knife, or your fancy keychain pepper spray with the idea that at some point you may indeed have to use either in self-defense. But did you ever consider how to decide when the right time is? or how to articulate it after the fact? If you didn't you are setting yourself up for failure!

In this episode BK (who, to be clear, is NOT an attorney) discussed such terms as "continuum of force", "totality of circumstances", "Graham vs. Connor", and other legal terms to explain how one should determine the appropriate level of force, how to explain and articulate their actions as reasonable, and other steps to further defend their actions in court.

If you are serious abut self-defense, whether with a tool, your own hands, or even just the idea of protecting yourself and/or a loved one, you owe yourself to listen to this episode to set yourself up for success.

Dr. Eric Nager

Eric C. Nager, MD, is a Board-Certified Anti-Aging, Functional, and Regenerative Medicine specialist.

Throughout his career, Dr. Nager has practiced at multiple hospitals and thoroughly enjoyed being able to help very sick patients. He has devoted much of his career to public service and served as a Medical Manager for the Pennsylvania Urban Search and Rescue Team, Fire Surgeon for the Baltimore County Fire Department, and Tactical Physician for the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

Over time, Dr. Nager realized that much of what he learned in medical school and residency supported a reactionary approach towards illness. In other words, he felt that he was treating the symptoms as opposed to the root cause of disease. It was sick care — not wellness care. Dr. Nager felt a duty to create a proactive approach to medicine. He researched and explored every method and treatment that promised positive results, including lifestyle changes, nutrition, supplements, hormones, IV therapy, and Regenerative Medicine therapy.

Dr. Nager’s went on to become Board-Certified in Anti-Aging, Functional, and Regenerative Medicine.

Dr. Nager uses a combination of traditional, Functional, and Regenerative Medicine to keep himself — and his patients — in top physical and mental condition. To schedule a visit with Dr. Nager, call the office or use the convenient online booking tool to set up your appointment.
