Natasha Cruz grew up in Queens, NY. In 2012, she graduated with her B.A. in Psychology from Andrews University in Berrien Springs, MI. Against all odds she decided to pursue her graduate degree at Loma Linda University in California and graduated with her M.S in Marriage and Family Therapy in 2014. Upon graduating, she has made it her goal to work with families who share a similar background as hers. “I know what it’s like to come from nothing, to be told you won’t amount to anything, and doubted because of uncontrollable factors (race, sex, family dynamics). I’ve seen the effects of intergenerational trauma first hand and I’m here to make a difference. “ She has worked in San Bernardino California, The Riverside, California’s Districts Attorney’s Office, and Safe Horizon in NYC. Natasha is currently working with homeless and runaway at-risk youth in the state of Vermont.
Manny Ortiz is a South Bronx resident, born and raised in the Mott Haven section of the South Bronx. Manny started a clothing brand Mott Haven Chronicles in 2019. His goal for his business/brand is to expose his community for the good work, great people among Mott Haven and also for people outside of Mott Haven can represent and feel inspired to do great things and achieve their goals & dreams.

Eric Adams was raised in South Jamaica, as one of six children he was raised by a single mom who cleaned homes to support her family. As a young man, Eric faced homelessness, hunger and brutality at the hands of police. But instead of giving into anger, Eric joined the NYPD and fought for reform in the department. From the NYPD, he was elected to the State Senate, where he pushed through measures to protect tenants and workers, and advance human rights.
As Brooklyn’s first Black Borough President, he has worked tirelessly to grow the local economy, reduce inequality, improve public safety, and advocate for better government.
