In this episode, Lisa Barnes shares about her life story and the struggle associated with growing up in an unhealthy environment. She discusses how she first came to church, met Jesus, and got connected to The Salvation Army. We discuss the idea of bias and take a look at how we can identify it in our own lives. We also talk about how we can be real with people and creating a safe and inviting place for newcomers in the church.

The topic of mental health in the church is somewhat of a taboo subject to discuss. In this episode we dive into the benefits of seeking therapy, the role that the church plays in caring for people holistically, the power of prayer, and how to develop and trustworthy relationships. We also look at some interesting ideas floating around TikTok including “therapy speak” and the problems associated with it. Lastly, we compare social workers and therapists vs. life coaches and how they are not the same!

For a long time, the idea of revival has been one that has been in our conversations and desired by the Christian church. When the Asbury revival began to flood social media, it left many people questioning if this is the start of Revival or another Great Awakening.
