Heather and I are visiting the former location of the Keeley Institute near what is now the location of Prairie St. John’s psychiatric hospital across from Island Park, and next to the Red River itself!
The Keeley Institute was most likely a suspicious or a suspect, or an unprofessional or unqualified and undignified operation that did treat some patients for addiction or addictions to a variety of different substances or chemicals!

Hey it was during a conversation with Christy Goulet that I did wonder aloud or posit aloud to her that there could have been a time when it was I could have been hospitalized or institutionalized for just being myself, and for just exhibiting certain symptoms or certain attributes or features of what is now a certain mental health or neurodivergent or psychological diagnosis that I do have!

And so following that conversation or that positing or exchange I did reach out to businesses and to clinics and helplines, and to departments and places of information or community hubs and archives and I did ask the question, “What is the history of mental healthcare in Fargo-Moorhead?”
