Oftens times black and brown people are shown and perceived in the worst light even though there are millions of us are doing awesome things.
The goal is to be able to share these interviews specifically to kids and young adults to show them that they can be anything they want to be. Representation matters!
We'll also be able to connect them directly with a person in a specific profession that they're interested in, should they want to learn more.
Meet Justin Cousin, a multi-talented individual and my latest guest on the Color of Chicago podcast! Justin wears many hats, including being a teacher, real estate investor, farmer, and a former college and professional volleyball player. With such a diverse background, Justin is a true inspiration and a shining example of what can be achieved with hard work and determination. Justin shares his story and provides insight into his journey to success. Through his experiences, Justin hopes to show young black kids that there's no limit to what they can achieve. Representation is crucial, and Justin's story is proof that black kids can succeed in any profession they set their minds to - not just in entertainment or sports. I loved hearing about what she's accomplished so far but I'm even more excited about checking with her in a few years to what else she adds to her resume.
