The Whole Testament Podcast: Recent Episodes

David Campbell and Friends

Ever wondered why the Old Testament and New Testament are so different? As modern day believers do we really even need the Old Testament? This Podcast is designed to help bridge the gap between the Old and the New, and to help you see how connected they really are. Our goal is to put the two “Testaments” back together, so that we can get the whole story of what God is doing in our lives and in our world.

What is all this talk about "Appetizers, Entrées and Desserts"? If you read Hebrews 5 the author talks about how the fellow believers are like babies because they are ignorant of the "Oracles of God." The majority of the time that this word is used is in connection with the Torah given by God to His people. Here at The Whole Testament, we believe that we are also often times "Baby Believers" not knowing the meat of God's Oracles. We want to learn how to "eat" solid food. We are using this as a model for our podcasts. We want to eat meals, full big meals with an appetizer, entrées, and a dessert. The appetizers are shorter more devotion like episodes that are designed to get you thinking about something in a new way. The entrees are intended to get your really thinking deeply about the scriptures, and the desserts are about how we can apply what we have learned in our lives through conversations with people who are trying to do it in their lives. The Whole Testament is supported by people like you. To help us continue the conversation, head to thewholetestament.com and click on the donate tab.

Welcome to The Whole Testament, a podcast putting the Old and New Testaments back together.

Check out this episode on Youtube! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEclCp4H4lc

Smells like Passover is just around the corner! Dave and his kids teach us how they keep Passover in their home. If you want to know what we mean by "appetizer" or want to listen to any of the previous audio podcasts you can find them at thewholetestament.com, Apple Podcasts and Spotify. If you have any questions leave a comment below or you can contact us at info@thewholetestament.com.

What is with the “Appetizer, Entrée, and Dessert” talk? Hebrews 5:11 About this we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing. 12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food, 13 for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child. 14 But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil.” The writer of the book of Hebrews is telling the readers that until they become skilled in the “oracles” of God they will only be drinking milk. The Oracles of God most often refer to the Old Testament. We want people to be fully mature in their faith and so we are trying to teach the “Oracles” of God. The meat. So our Podcasts are set up like a three course meal. You have appetizers which get you started on a topic and give you some moments to think about. They are shorter and easier to digest. The entrée episodes are more in depth and might take some work to grasp the fullness of the passages or topics being discussed. Finally, the dessert episodes are often more conversation and usually an interview with real people trying to live out what has already been discussed. So join us for the full meal!
