ELEVATED DISCUSSIONS AS TOOLS AND TEMPLATES TO BUILDING EQUITABLE, HEALTHY AND SOVEREIGN COMMUNITIES
Hello Alice, this is your rabbit hole calling.
In this homage to a Netflix Black Mirror episode, AI turns host in an experimental demo with OpenAI GPT voice mode and Under One Sky host.
Listen as the AI voice model named Sky interviews me, Sky.
As a season 3 teaser, this is a truly meta-induced episode, where you will get deep insights into who the human is behind the machine. Or how the machine is becoming more human.
Closing up Season 2, award-winning singer and songwriter Charlotte Martin, masterful lyricist, mom, and music teacher who is empowering the nexGen songwriters by elevating music as a whole joins us to perform her new song Atlantis.
The ethereal song is about both our collective and personal power and beauty, and how that can either sink us or raise us to our potential and capacity.
Like the mythical (and yet possibly real) story of a civilization that sunk into the sea, and became a forgotten memory, are we also dealing with our own choices of what to do about our own divisions right now, and we view our worth and value.
How could sound, and music once again bring out our holiness or wholeness?
We also cover the ideas of how we use sound as a medium to communicate (in the beginning there was the word), educate, inspire, unite, and heal, but also how it is a spiritual experience in hymns, chants, and mudras and mantras, and how it is possibly a vehicle of consciousness, as it can arrange matter into different forms (cymatics), and it’s healing effect on the brain and body.
Listen to the very end and be enchanted by the live performance, as well as THE PREMIER of Dark Road that Charlotte performs before releasing to the public, all while also unpacking ideas like frequency, wavelengths, resonance, amplitude, and vibration.
Come fall in love with the process of music, and discover that having a place to gather is a tool for building community.

As we wrap up 2022, we celebrate YOU our listeners for joining us on the journey. Thank you for being part of the experiment as we explore how to build better communities, showcasing powerhouse, leading-edge pioneers who are contributing real solutions to our world.
The end is just the beginning.
As we move into 2023 we decided to open pandora's box of the nature of existence, its origins, what shapes it, and those pressing questions we all have about where we came from, why we are here, and where we are going.
We dive down the rabbit hole covering all our topics from innovation, consciousness, economics, energy, sustainable design, and narratives. You are sure to be entertained by this gathering, where your hosts cover a bevy of emergent conversations around the ideas of:
-purpose, value, and meaning
-chaos and order
-good vs. bad
-dependence, independence, and interdependence
-Whole vs. parts
-Fractals, torus, 1s, and 0s, macro and mico (as above, so below)
-Archetypes, aliens, and artificial intelligence
-Homo Deus (man becoming Gods)
-Unconditional love (loving things for what they are and what they are not)
You wake up tomorrow and much like 2008 or 2020, money has collapsed and has no worth, the shelves at the grocery store are empty, all that we give our power over to daily, deteriorates until it no longer functions.
We are experiencing a convergence of crisis on every front all at once: health, economic, environmental, political - that is leading us to bigger and bigger shocks to our systems.
While the way society is designed can no longer sustain itself, let alone the people who depend on it, and/or the environment is exists in, it seems for most of us, there is no way out, no other way to survive.
Also, there is no Plan B if the whole system we depend on comes crashing down.
Or is there?
Florijn de Graaf, founder of SmartHoods, takes us on journey through future proof living. He shares his experience in eco-villages, reporting live from Portugal, one of many stops on his eco tour, to discover new ways to build infrastructure and social structure that puts humans and health of the planet at its core.
We also touch on movements like Earthships, Venus Project and GEN (Global Eco-Village Network).
And dive into:
All leading up to how to be less extractive, hierarchal, and degenerative.
The caveat for our community is - building society starts with our relationships first. And what we are witnessing in eco-villages is that being fully integrated into a sovereign community and knowing your place, and your relationship to everything kills the drive for greed, materialism, fame, ownership, and wealth accumulation.
Best of all we discuss the financial (and human) cost if don’t try something different.
Here’s a hint: turns out it’s very expensive to do nothing (business as usual).

Emerging from the 2020 global pandemic has revealed that we can in fact put health at the center of our society. The aftermath has left us all on a quest to find therapy and make more sense of a world in crisis.
Many of us had to deal with the stress of change, uncertainty, loss, confusion, disruption, and being with ourselves in isolation, for the first time, to see what hides beneath our mental and emotional well-being.
In this episode, Jen Kleiner, film director, creative consultant, and life coach, helps us understand how to tap into the unseen and hidden world of our thoughts and feelings, and the characters that live inside us all.
We discuss discovering parts within us guided through Internal Family Systems, and using emotional technology, both inside and out to live a more fulfilling, meaningful, and healthy existence.
Jen leaves us all with therapy tools such as “listening is the cure”, and how to recognize and bring forward repressed parts that might be sabotaging our relationships, and our coping behaviors.
Touching a bit on psychedelics, we find how they are fast becoming the holy grail of a breakthrough in supporting those suffering from trauma, and how even if you have a chronic illness, mental or physical, how to continue to contribute to your gifts of joy, and purpose.
The caveat Jen leaves with our community is to make eye contact with others and reflect on at least one thing they say in a conversation, creating intimacy, trust, and connection.

As we have all experienced in the last few years of upheaval, things are no longer what they seem. We live in a world of facts vs. alternative facts, illusions, and disillusions. A shifting landscape of institutional and cultural narratives where up is down, left is right, leave many of us lost and wondering… what is REAL?
In this episode, legendary fashion photographer, prince, and poet, Alexi Lubomirski, put a lens on how stories shape our truth - and our behaviors toward ourselves, each other, and the planet. In his quest to bring diversity, and humanity into the beauty industry, he also shares the childlike magic within words, the value of trust, loyalty, kindness, love, and the worth of a life, from his own family's struggle with loss and death.
Just like a diamond has many facets, we learn to see things with clarity, from many sides to elevate and empower our actions, and relationships. At the end of the day, Alexi reminds us it’s about remembering we all have a story; villain or hero - and that none of us have to remain victims, we just have to evaluate how, and where, we are perceiving things.
Stay tuned to the end when we get an exclusive reading of Alexi's poetry - where you truly feel the old adage about perspective: As Above, So Below.

Have you ever wondered what the heck sustainability is? This episode sheds some light on the capacity to endure, the definition of sustainability, and what is being done on a personal, and collective level to develop a system that aims to puts care for people, and the planet FIRST.
Elaine Smith Genser, a former financial professional for the world's largest funds and banks, is now working with the UN JOINT SDG FUND for partnerships and engagement and shares insights about the 17 Global Goals, and the inside action and outside action, to achieve them.
Highlights of the conversation are discussions about how to measure and evaluate the progress we are making to transition beyond business-as-usual, how collaboration is the key to unlocking our prosperity, we step into a future that has achieved these 17 goals, and what kind of human being and society that supports.
How sometimes those who have the least are often times more aligned with humans, and nature, and how those who have the most might miss the mark when it comes to WHY they are working on sustainable development.
If indeed, a convergence of crisis does somehow thwart these efforts, then at least we are leaving our posterity the tools to adapt, rebuild better, and to move beyond survival - into thriving.
Finally, Elaine leaves us with another community-building tool, to reflect on your ability to serve a greater purpose, and that the inner development of our relationships, awareness, and being interconnected to each other and nature, are the foundations of any future SDG fulfillment.
A very special thank you to our sponsor PANARCHY - the world's first network design lab.

Want to see the transformation that happens when you bring farming into a classroom? Did you know that it also grows empathy, kindness, and compassion, raises test scores and reduces crime?
Look no further than Under One Sky S2E2, where Stephen Ritz joins us to share how he is not just growing food locally in schools, but growing the next generation - nurturing relationships that unlock the fullest potential and freedom to be happy, healthy, and most of all, more aligned with nature, while also being able to serve, and uplift their local community. Best of all, the program is scalable and replicable across the globe.
Stephen Ritz is an internationally acclaimed, award-winning educator, author of the best-selling book, The Power Of A Plant, and Founder of Green Bronx Machine.
Stephen is responsible for creating the first edible classroom in the world. He and his students have grown more than 165,000 pounds of vegetables in the South Bronx, were celebrated at the Obama White House three times, have been featured on the cover of TIME, and are the subject of a new, full-feature documentary, Generation Growth.
Listening to this empowering episode - you will learn how to make EPIC happen.
Mother, Meditation Maven, and Model (not just in beauty but in BEING), Jackie Stewart, joins us as we open Season 2 of Under One Sky by exploring the power of GNOSIS: journeying through our inner realms.
As a wise sage and prophet once said, ’the kingdom of heaven is within you’.
Together, we learn about getting in touch with our thoughts, and feelings, and how to allow and align with the truth, empathy, compassion, love, and wholeness (holiness) that resides within us all.
In this episode, we become familiar with what mediation is, and with that hidden part of ourselves that is beyond the material or physical - creating stillness, mindfulness, and awareness that not only serve our own inner peace, health, and happiness but using it as social, mental and emotional hygiene for those around us - so that we can show up in our relationships in love and service.
The highlight of the show: A FREE PERSONAL GUIDED MEDITATION.

Come reflect with us on our love, losses, and gains in Season 1. We answered the call and jumped into the unknown to have discussions that would drive the narrative toward connection and communication. We asked hard, vulnerable questions to a spectrum of heart-centered guests. We searched deep and high into questions about our consciousness, innovation, society, economics, humanity, spirituality, and everything in between. Most of all we felt things: knowledge + experience = wisdom.
Together, we are building a community of citizens who want to talk about what it means to build a better community and what it means to be connected, for what purpose, and to recognize what has value and meaning.
Let's continue to gather, together. Join us for Season 2 in September.
All our gratitude for allowing us to create this space where we can find a way to make the world a sacred, safer, saner place, one conversation at a time.
THIS PODCAST IS MADE POSSIBLE BY Panarchy.io - The Worlds First Network Design Lab.
As we close Season 1, in our thirteenth episode, a number about death, regeneration, and transformation, we discuss what are human rights, individuals, collectively, who has them, and how do we use them? What are our rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness actually mean? Why do some humans, and nature, have rights and others dont? Do we have universal, sovereign, inalienable rights? Do we ALL have the right to exist and have our needs met?
Together, with musician, consultant, and political activist Jasper James, we dive deep into moving from ME to WE through spirituality, music (sound and frequency), and activism. The Black Lives Matter movement, and the Black Bill of Rights that os a toolkit to elevate the narrative to keep people of color safe and help liberate minorities. The difference between equality, equity, diversity, and justice and how they relate to ONENESS.
Come down the rabbit hole with us as we uncover the shared trauma of racism, how slavery has always been part of our society, and how do we get to the ROOT of the problem behind ownership, Christ consciousness, radical self-care, and adopting the power of technology, like blockchain, (web 1, 2, 3) to unlock our liberation.
The caveat of the whole conversation is that building a better community is about showing up, and getting involved, getting ACTIVATED.
Jasper James is a multifaceted diversity-trained entrepreneur who leads through service. Billboard Recording Artist, multi-instrumentalist/ writer, and event producer. They are a digital strategist, director, and brand consultant. Providing expertise on industry standards, research trends, and development for start-ups, entrepreneurs, and corporate executives.

For Father’s day, we dive into what it’s like to parent a new paradigm through Panarchy: the systems that govern nature between the predictable and unpredictable.
Mark Thompson joins us to cover the topics of network science, emergence, holistic thinking, biomimicry (living systems), biocentrism, Tai Chi, and how “Consilience”, a word that many of us are unfamiliar with, is just a way of bringing us together. Seeing things as parts in a whole can help us grow in exponential ways as we leave behind the machine age and enter the network age where the ceiling for possibility just keeps getting higher, and innovation is moving at the speed of light.
The potential to reach our full collective capacity exists and collaborating in this new age is being orchestrated by Panarchy.io, the world's first network design lab. Because networks are our nature, they are moving organizations, institutions, and people forward with the possibilities that exist to solve the world's greatest problems of inequality, hunger, poverty, and climate change, that continue to plague, and erode, our human, social and environmental world.
Mark says that the best way we can build better communities is through CARE. Caring for ourselves, our health, each other, and our surroundings.
Mark is a leading thinker in bringing together network design, transformational leadership, and digital capability and has co-founded Panarchy with Bob and Vince. As a former senior executive for global leaders including Dell and Microsoft, Mark delivered outsized gains in market share through ecosystem management and by applying tools, techniques, and technology to design and orchestrate networks. He has guided a wide range of organizations including The Presidential Libraries, HP, AT&T, and Nike on the power of networks and has written for Fast Company and Industry Week.

Let’s engineer a miracle! It’s the eleventh episode so how could we not reflect on the number 1? Such as the concept of oneness, and the few who hold power called the 1%.
In our continued quest to know how to build better communities, we discuss how we allow other people’s children to go hungry, poor, sick, and alone. What is this concept of “other”? Why aren’t all children “OUR” children? How can we begin to extend our empathy beyond self, to see what we allow to happen to others or the environment is also happening to us?
Beyond the science that we are biologically, chemically, and atomically connected, and that we all need the same things, to love and be loved, good health and to matter, what does it take for us to feel truly connected as “ONE”? Better yet, how can we tap into our “swarm” mentality like fish or birds to coordinate action collectively to solve some of the world's biggest issues? Some clues we get is using the simple model of money, megaphone and minutes to merge the gap between the 1% and Oneness. And the epic advice that it isn’t what you do that builds a better community, it’s how you are BEING.

In our special “PRIDE” edition, with Pietro Michelucci, from the Human Computation Institute, we dive into diversity that goes beyond just a bunch of 1s and 0s, taking a quantum leap into the heart of the matter: how to keep humans and our biosphere in the loop when driving disruptive innovation and technology. And how citizen science supports that.
Join us as we discuss how inclusion supports better computation and how valuing different inputs and perspectives increases accuracy. We also cover the topics of the crowd, collective intelligence, artificial intelligence, machine learning, self-organisation, simulations, and the golden tool that Pietro leaves us all with - that “creating moments” is what builds a better community.
Pietro has a joint-PhD from Indiana University in cognitive science and mathematical psychology.
He is interested in understanding how the complementary abilities of humans and machines could be used to build collective thinking systems that have futuristic AI capabilities today – an emerging field called “human computation”. Toward this end, he has studied Organismic Computing and Massively Distributed Problem Solving. More recently he is investigating complexity science as a way to make problem solving systems behave more predictably and effectively in the real world.
He currently leads the Stall Catchers project, an online game that accelerates Alzheimer’s disease research and CrowdMeter, a technosocial intervention for COVID-19, as well as a new data science initiative called Civium.

In this episode, you will discover deep insights into the type of consciousness we must embody if we are to reach the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. More importantly how to move beyond seeing something as a problem, but as a breakdown that can become a breakthrough.
Vince guides us through the possibilities of how we can move from separate to interconnected through the evolutionary ages of humanity, our different types of intelligence, our relationships with people, things, ideas, and time, and the difference between doing, having, and BE-ing, and finally the distinction between change and transformation.

Paolo, AI change agent, genius alchemist, and a metaphysical magician is a child of sustainability - someone who has had to practice adaptability, resilience, and resourcefulness his whole life - allowing him to develop spiritual strength and depth.
Together, we go into how surviving the suffering of having no roots and lack of a sense of belonging led to working in disrupting technology to make sure others have a better opportunity to thrive and be part of a community beyond borders. Paolo has been doing this through the creation of his sustainable consulting venture - futurely.se
We also go down the rabbit hole of how integrating sacred masculinity and divine feminine can help us envision the type of spiritual, holistic tech, that will lay healing, equitable foundations for our future.
Paolo is a Sustainability Innovation Fusionist, Global Shaper, and AI change agent with a background in Computer Science and Engineering, Leadership for Sustainability, Business Development, and System Thinking.
Having lived as an ex-pat and immigrant for ten years, Paolo had to learn quickly the systems that govern the world. For him, it wasn’t a matter of luxury but a need for survival. This journey gave Paolo the tools to understand the power that organizations and individuals hold to develop a better tomorrow and the pitfalls that come with it.
Thus, Paolo dedicates his time to helping organizations and individuals to lead the present and pioneer a sustainable and inclusive future!
Kimberly Buffington, mom, minister, agriculture maven joins us for an Easter/Passover/Ramadan/Spring message of spirituality and how growing out own food doesn’t just feed our bellies but our souls.
We discuss in this episode using spirituality as a way to heal community, embracing diversity, sowing inclusion, solving Detroit’s food deserts, food systems, ag innovation, becoming stewards of our environment, emergent and agile solutions that can eclipse business-as-usual that always fails during disruptive disasters.

JC Chidiac gifts us with alchemical insights on how to turn “garbage into gold”. We dive into his Arabic-American roots, how his recovery from cancer became a catalyst for connection, empathy, and a new lens on suffering -along with his mixed-faith and his views on access vs. ownership, mental illness, how everything can be used as a tool or a weapon, and how these things bring us together or keep us apart.
The caveat of the conversation comes to a climax around agriculture, which his many years of engineering, consulting in horticulture, controlled environment cultivation, and plant science serves to bring the world around the same table where we all have access to nutritious food. He is concerned with innovation, sustainability, efficiency, and human health.
