"A priest, a rabbi, and a pastor walk into a bar" ... so why not have a spiritual conversation with them while they're there? Holy Highball is a spiritual series where four-letter words become prayers and the highballs are close to godliness.
“A priest, a rabbi, and a pastor” talk about being sexualized, physically threatened, and the divine image of God as women in faith leadership. Mother Liz Costello, Rabbi Evette Lutman, and Reverend Jenny Morgan discuss the roles of women found throughout scripture and the Torah. These women have certainly busted through the stained-glass ceiling made by man, but not by God.
All are invited into this conversation: queer, straight, black, white, polka dot, striped, or otherwise. Holy Highball films in a bar sipping cocktails with three faith leaders and gets answers to the questions you were never allowed to ask in church. With so many varied faith perspectives and interpretations coming from one source, the Bible, what does “the church” really practice and believe about the LGBTQIA+ community?
Meet Pastor Michael Hidalgo (Lead Pastor of Denver Community Church), Meg Baatz (CoFounder of Kaleidoscope), and the V. Rev. Father Seraphim Gisetti (Pastor of St. John Chrysostom Church). They take the LGBTQIA+ discussion from theological to personal which amplifies the discussion and may leave you with more questions than answers.
Look for the LGBTQIA+ series episodes dropping all throughout the month of June for Pride Month.

"A priest, a pastor, and a celibate queer Christian" walk into a bar and start talking ... Grab a cocktail and join us for an authentic conversation about LGBTQIA+, faith, and the church. Holy Highball's LGBTQIA+ series this month is talking no-holds-barred on sexuality, visibility, language, moral policing, and vulnerability. This is a space where you can ask questions that you never could in church.
If you’re looking for straight answers, this discussion may leave you with more questions than answers. Meet a Pastor who studied the scriptures on homosexuality with his congregation and then changed to be a “welcoming church;” an Orthodox priest who doesn’t marry same sex couples but was one of the the few priests who buried the dead at the height of the AIDS epidemic in San Francisco; and a Christian, gay, and celibate young woman who has cofounded a faith nonprofit that offers safe spaces for LGBTQIA+ people to cultivate their faith openly.
To add more complexity to the discussion, according to the Marin Foundation: Us Versus Us: The Untold Story of Religion & the LGBT Community, 86% of LGBTQ+ people were raised in the church, and LGBTQ+ people are open to returning to church at an 8x higher rate than the average American.

Holy Highball is taking our priest, rabbi, and pastor out on the street to let the public ask their questions(unfortunately, we couldn’t take the bar with us). We have a newfound respect for our faith leaders who do this every day and for the unsuspecting people who bravely asked (and keep asking) their questions … #RESPECT.
“A priest, an atheist, and an agnostic walk into a bar” and the conversation about life and death gets pretty interesting! Father Stace keeps his cool while Martin (atheist) challenges all sorts of things, and Ashley (agnostic) ponders the idea of “maybe aliens” and other things that are a little f*cked up and mysterious.
“A priest, an atheist, and an agnostic walk into a bar” and the conversation about science, religion, and sunsets lends us some definite opinions. Find out what our priest and atheist agreed upon and their take on “what makes a sunset so beautiful.”
Who better to speak about dating, sexual compatibility, bedroom conversations, and the church’s sexual ethic? Meet a priest who’s discerned celibacy, a divorced pastor who’s swiped left (and right), and a Dr. Rev. who’s been married for 25 years with seven kids. You don’t want to miss this candid and comical conversation about sex when our “priest, pastor, and reverend walk into a bar.”
Pastor Nirup shares a very personal loss that leads our guests to ponder the question: “Is it a world broken by design?” The year of COVID 2020 was like no other–revealing human brokenness and exposing glimmers of joy that can instill hope into our lives if we choose to see and embrace them.
