Learning 'Bout Life is the podcast where we delve deep into the life lessons that Host, Michelle Ellen, has come across thus far as a 21 yr old gal. Each episode we plan to unpack one life lesson, look at how it came about and how it's impacted upon day to day life for the better. While not everyone may agree and share the same ideas, its a great place to find food for thought about 'how to life'.
Hey guys, apologies for the long time it took for me to upload. I haven't been doing so well so haven't gotten around to editing and uploading. I recorded this a while ago and it is about my 20% online relationship rule. Today I discuss the downfalls technology has on relationships these days and my recommendations to mitigate such consequences.
hope you enjoy :)
Hello hello friend! This week has been a little bit rough and as such I haven't been able to produce the episode I had wanted. But I didn't want to let that mean no episode this week. Today I talk about what's going on in my life, why I've been feeling a little down and all that. I hope you enjoy and catch you next week!
Hey friends, Today I reflect on my university experience and the things that I wish I had known or been told before hand. While I don't regret the decisions I made having known these things might have saved me a little time and money. Enjoy :)
Today we are talking all things boys or I guess crushes. Over the past few weeks there has been a pretty good looking guy that has caught my attention and with that I have really reflected on all my crushes and considered how much I actually liked them. I think that I like a lot of people often fall into the trap of fantasising about my crushes so much that I often make up a completely different version of them which I fall for. While I think this is normal, today I discuss how to tell if its more the idea you are in love with and when to be careful with this idea. I hope you enjoy :)
Hello my lovely listeners! Today I talk about my method of getting out of a funk. I acknowledge that it is not a one size fits all kinda thing, but I'm going to put forward some ideas as to what may help you all on your journey of healing, as cheesy as that sounds. I look at two examples where I had my heartbroken, one by a boy the other by an event and talk about how I stopped wallowing and found happiness once again. I hope you enjoy!
Today, we unpack all the loose ends of my recent failed solo trip. We delve into all the answers and conclusions I've come to from my myriad of studies into what the heck happened. I looked to famous figures, new creators and past experience to answer the burning questions I was left with and I've compiled it all into a handy 1 hr to save you all the time and money that I did not. Today I give you my ideas in retrospect on how to make tough decisions when you don't like either option, why playing the victim is only disadvantaging YOU, the immense and superfluous pressure I think COVID has put on "the now" and many other thoughts.
Today I come back with a fresh episode after the disaster that was my attempt at my first ever solo trip. In the last episode I harped on about the importance of getting out of your comfort zone and hence why I thought trying solo travel would be the most rewarding thing I could do for myself this year. Well. I was wrong. It was a shitshow and about as far from what I expected. Today I recap all that went down and why it ultimately came to and end. One thing I can say I have learnt is that shit happens whether you stress or worry about it it will happen anyways, probably worse than you could have perceived, so don't waste even more time worrying about it!
Today's episode was recorded the day before I set off on my first ever solo trip and I wanted to remember and share with you some of the emotions that were running through my head in the lead up. The reason for this trip was linked to one of my core beliefs, that the whole point of life is to put yourself outside of your comfort zone and challenge yourself, in order to achieve personal growth. So this is what I am discussing today. I was on a boat trip and talking to a guy from Ireland when he said, "I don't want to get to comfortable, cause when you get comfortable it means you have a boring life" and that definitely resonated with me. So this episode is me advocating getting out of that gosh darn comfort zone (within reason of course).
Enjoy :)
Hey Team! Today we are talking all things journalling. Now journalling is something I haven't always had the easiest time with and up until about a year ago I could safely say that I didn't "get it". However with determination, and trial and error I managed to stumble across a way that works for me. In this episode I talk you through my experience with journalling as well as tips and tricks that I would recommend to anyone wanting to get into journalling. Enjoy ! :)
Today is a little bit of a story time. Today we take a stroll down memory lane back over the past few years. In this episode I unpack the event/relationship that caused me to first start off on this "self help" journey. This is a story near and dear to my heart and I also think is important for you to know to see where I am coming from with all the topics of future episodes.
Today we delve into a concept I like to think of as the 'Life Lottery'. It is a concept in which we can reflect upon our own life and consider just how lucky we have got with the cards that we have been dealt. I know it is said a lot, but I truely believe that the start of any self help journey needs to begin with gratitude, for me at least this concept has really helped to view my life from a sense of complete gratitude.
