Change isn't a swift event but a gradual, transformative process. Often, we anticipate change to occur like a sudden burst of fireworks, but the reality is more akin to tending to a garden.
It involves nurturing, patience, and a commitment to the incremental steps that pave the way for lasting transformation. Understanding that allows us a change in perspective. It acknowledges that meaningful shifts take time, encompassing moments of reflection, learning, and adaptation. This realization fosters resilience, as it encourages you to embrace the journey, navigate setbacks, and savor the small victories that collectively lead to significant change.
In this episode, Kim and Louise invite Keri Schwebius to the conversation. Keri is an author, speaker, consultant, and Certified Executive Coach. She is the owner of Ellevate Executive Coaching and co-owner of LumiLead, a leadership development company. Keri has a genuine desire to create positive change in the world, especially for her clients, and volunteers as Co-Chair of the Women in Leadership Foundation – Saskatchewan Chapter.

Public speaking is a strong skill that can open many doors. When you talk with courage, confidence, and clearness, you can inspire people around you, make a bigger difference, and help your career grow. A good speaker can motivate others and start changes. By connecting with people personally, you become more than a speaker; you become an inspiration.
Public speaking lets you reach more people and make a bigger impact. Whether you're fighting for a cause or sharing new ideas, your voice can change people's minds and have a lasting effect. It shows you're a leader, makes you more well-known, and can make you look like an expert. This can lead to new jobs, promotions, and meeting new people.
On this episode, Kim and Louise sit down to chat with Adriana Baer, public speaking coach for leaders and rising leaders about how each of us can harness the power of public speaking. Remember, all great speakers had to start somewhere. With practice and hard work, you can use public speaking to inspire, influence, and reach your goals.

Have you ever felt like you're deciphering a secret code in your quest for the perfect job? That's what we call the "Transparency Dilemma" – a tricky dance between wanting clear job details and the often murky realities of job listings. Navigating and decoding subtle nuances underscores the need for more straightforwardness in the job market. The clearer companies are with job descriptions, financial compensation, values and expectations, the more empowered you are to make informed career decisions. Transparency isn't just a buzzword; it's essential for matching individuals with roles that align with their aspirations, ensuring mutual satisfaction and success.

In this paradigm, success is not the absence of failure but the ability to adapt, persevere, and innovate.
Those who navigate failure with resilience and a growth mindset discover hidden strengths, untapped potential, and a deeper understanding of themselves.
In this episode, Kim and Louise sit down with Alan Mueller, owner of Adaptive Challenge Consulting and Happy Place Designs, to talk about how each setback becomes a thread in the fabric of your success story, weaving a narrative of perseverance, adaptability, and the courage to embrace challenges.

Seemingly insignificant actions can have far-reaching and unpredictable consequences. This is known as the butterfly effect. In the context of living a good life, every positive choice and act of kindness can be likened to the gentle fluttering of a butterfly's wings, setting off a cascade of positive ripples in the world. In this episode, Kim and Louise sit down with owner and CEO of myLife Planners, Crystal Reynolds, to talk about how living your best life can cause ripple effects throughout your community and beyond. We cannot fully separate our personal selves from our professional selves (nor, in our opinion, should we).
Utilizing your personal development by cultivating self-awareness, enhancing skills, and seeking feedback allows you to be more productive and navigate challenges effectively.
We dove into an insightful conversation about the power of personal development in your career and on your leadership journey. We explored how cultivating self-awareness, enhancing skills, and seeking feedback can help us navigate challenges more effectively and be more productive in our professional lives.
Together, we discussed the importance of being curious, fostering self-questioning, and the concept of 'stackable wins' - making small changes or gains that stack up to significant growth over time.
We also shared our personal experiences with networking, both the ups and the downs, and provided strategies to make networking more comfortable and beneficial.
This episode is packed with valuable insights that can help you cultivate growth from within. Don't miss it!

We're not sure who gave us the idea that life should be straightforward and predictable... but it's not. It comes with all kinds of bumps, twists and turns. Many are wonderful. Some mundane.
And others are flat out challenging.
Every step of our journey holds valuable lessons, like hidden treasures waiting to be discovered.
These lessons aren't just checkpoints; they're catalysts for personal growth and development.
They empower us to navigate challenges, make wiser decisions, and build resilience in the face of adversity.
Embracing these insights isn't about dwelling on the past, but about illuminating our path forward with newfound wisdom.
In this episode, Kim and Louise sit down with life coach for working moms, Jocelyn Auyeung to talk about the ups and downs, twists and turns that each has taken on their career journey. And how slowing down long enough to reflect on where they’ve been allows them to be more intentional about where they’re going.

As we know, the status quo doesn't serve the global majority. That's why it's so important that we create opportunities to move ourselves into positions that empower us. Financial literacy is a powerful tool that does just that, enabling women and other marginalized genders to take charge of their economic destinies.
Financial literacy is about much more than just dollars and cents; it's about independence, breaking cycles of poverty, and bridging the wealth gap. With financial know-how, individuals can confidently navigate the financial landscape, make informed decisions, and secure their futures. It's a key to entrepreneurship, wise investing, and protecting against financial exploitation.
Plus, it's a cornerstone for advocating for economic rights and participating in policy discussions. In this week's episode, Kim and Louise are joined by co-founder of investHER Academy + Startup Smart Kids, Angel Padulo.
Frustrated with the scarcity of women investors in the room, Angel is determined to help women and children learn about the financial freedom that comes from being an investor.

Expectations are a part of life, but if we take them too much to heart, it can have negative effects.
It can stir up anger and resentment, making it hard for us to make our own choices. This can even lead to mental health struggles like depression and anxiety. So, it's important to shed the burden of societal expectations and fully embrace our genuine selves. Instead of letting others dictate who we "should" be, let's tune into our own thoughts, desires, and beliefs.
That's where our true authenticity shines through.
It's like crafting a personalized suit for your soul, one that fits just right and feels perfectly you.
In this episode, Kim and Louise are joined by social change instigator and founder of Tapas Movement, Malik Turley, to dive into the ways to move beyond expectations.

Life has this funny way of evolving, and so do we. (Re)discovering your purpose is like embarking on a lifelong treasure hunt for the essence of who you are.
It's not a one-time, "set it and forget it" kind of deal. It's about honoring the shifts, the growth spurts, and the gentle nudges from the universe.
This process isn't about flipping a switch; it's more like adjusting the volume knob until the melody feels just right.

What is divine timing? Well, basically, it’s the belief that everything happens exactly when it's meant to.
Have you ever had several different and unrelated people mention a book or movie to you multiple times or run into the same person again and again?
That's divine timing giving you a nudge to take inspired action on the things you’re being called to.
In this week's episode, Kim and Louise are going to be joined by their guest, coach Nadine Stille, as they dive head first into the concept of divine timing and how not to use it to spiritually bypass (i.e. sit back and wait for things to happen).

We've all heard about the importance of rest. And yet, many (or maybe even most) of us feel like we struggle to get enough of it. Most people think rest synonymous with sleep. In fact, they serve somewhat different functions - both incredibly important to our overall functioning.
While both rest and sleep support your mental, emotional and physical health, rest also soothes, calms and regulates your nervous system. Whereas sleep gives your body (and brain) time to repair itself.
Learning how to incorporate more rest into your already busy schedule is key to better mental health, increased concentration and memory, a healthier immune system, and reduced stress.
In this episode, Kim & Louise are joined by Kaley Medina. Kaley is a Certified Sleep Consultant in Dallas, TX helping babies and families get the rest they need by using gentle sleep training methods. They dive into what creates rest and how to encourage sleep, even when those zzz's feel elusive.

Entitled and empowered are two distict mindsets and ways of approaching life. Entitlement is marked by a belief in unearned privileges and expectations, while empowerment is characterized by a sense of agency, accountability, and the pursuit of personal and collective growth. The journey from entitled to empowered involves a shift in mindset, focusing on self-awareness, accountability, gratitude, and a willingness to embrace challenges and opportunities for personal development.
In this episode of Kickass Career Conversations, we're diving deep into what we can do to lead ourselves from places of entitlement that may still exist within us to embodying the fullness that empowerment can give us.
Join us as we explore practical insights and inspiring stories, guiding you through the process of shedding entitlement and embracing a mindset of growth, accountability, and compassion. Work-life balance is something we all strive for, in one way or another. It's this concept of creating enough energy so we can excel at work and still enjoy all of the elements that make up our lives.
When it comes down to it, it's really about creating boundaries around how work shows up for us in our lives. In this week's episode, Kim and Louise get a chance to talk with Conscious Launch Strategist & Copy Coach For The Internet Rich And Famous, Sage Polaris.
Sage is one of those amazing people who has figured out how to set and maintain those boundaries - to the tune of taking four months off every year! Who wouldn't want to learn how to build more time off in our work so we can truly enjoy our lives?

It often feels as though we're living in a pressure cooker. People are restless, volatile, and tempers are blowing up left and right.
And, most of us don't want to live this way. We are looking for a way out, a way that feels more stable, secure, and grounded.
That's where emotional freedom comes in.
There are a multitude of ways we can approach finding emotional freedom in our lives, including EMDR, EFT (or "tapping"), and somatic awareness.
On this week's episode, Kim and Louise are joined by Life Coach and Master EFT Practitioner Jennifer "Taz" Vazquez to discuss how the importance of reclaiming our emotional freedom and how we might go about doing just that.

No one wants to feel like an imposter. But the truth is, many of us do. If you’ve ever felt like you don’t belong or you don’t deserve your job, know that you’re not alone.
In fact, according to a recent research study, nearly two-thirds (62%) of workers worldwide reported experiencing imposter syndrome at some point in their careers.
If you’re personally struggling with imposter syndrome or are working with others who are exhibiting some of the common traits, there are a lot of things you can do to reduce those feelings.
On this episode, Louise and Kim are joined by Michele Delgado, founder of Harmetrics Consulting, where her mission is to empower leaders who find themselves navigating the complexity of imposter syndrome by helping them implement systems to achieve their desired outcomes for positive growth. Letting go holds immense power in our lives. It is the art of releasing attachments, expectations, and burdens that no longer serve us.
When we learn to let go, we create space for growth, healing, and transformation.
By relinquishing control and surrendering to the natural flow of life, we free ourselves from the shackles of the past and open ourselves up to new possibilities. Letting go is a profound act of self-liberation, allowing us to embrace the present moment fully and pave the way for a brighter future.
On this episode, Kim and Louise are joined by visionary product leader Gabrielle Hayes, co-founder of Product x Agile, LLC, as they channel their inner Elsa's and talk about all the ways to "Let it go!"

We're all aware that communication is a critical component of interpersonal effectiveness.
We communicate to get our ideas across, to connect with others, to negotiate, and inspire.
And yet, many of us still struggle with our communication skills. That's where empowered communication comes in. Empowered communication is a way of speaking that can help us identify shared values, encourages us to use language that increases goodwill, and avoid language that contributes to resentment or that lowers self-esteem.
It helps us focus our attention on compassion as our motivation, rather than fear, guilt, blame, or shame.
On this episode, Kim and Louise chat with litigator, legal strategist, educator, and collaborative leader, Carla Madeleine Kupe. Carla is also the founder and CEO of The Impact Alliance LLC, a diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism/colonialism consulting enterprise.

Society places immense value on "staying in control." We're constantly told how to create a life that is organized, structured, and planned. However, if you're like most folks we know, this ends up creating stress and overwhelm in our lives, instead.
The reality is... none of us is really ever in control.
It can be tricky to learn how to release control (and the desire for it). And, when we do... we are greeted by the freedom so many of us are yearning for.
In this episode, Kim and Louise talk with their guest Lisa Guillot, author of the book Find Your Clear Vision, about how to let go of the desire for control and instead learn to start trusting that the universe does, in fact, have your back.
Lisa is a certified transformational life and leadership coach and branding expert. You can learn more about Lisa at:

If you hear a voice within you say you cannot paint, then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced." - Vincent Van Gogh
We all have that little voice in our heads that can either lift us up or bring us down. But here's the thing: our thoughts are just thoughts.
They're not good or bad, they just are. So let's learn to accept them without letting them control us.
On this episode, Kim and Louise discuss how to create a kinder inner dialogue.

We are so excited to be celebrating our one-year anniversary of Kickass Conversations with Louise & Kim on this week's episode!
Join us as we talk about "Where Your Attention Goes" and how that can lead to great things - you know, like creating a podcast, a Collective of amazing humans, and so much more!
And it's not just "woo"! There is science behind the concept that where your attention goes, energy flows. It's connected to the idea that neurons that fire together, wire together.
The more you focus your attention, the more your neurons light up, transmitting your thoughts faster and with more clarity - and bringing into reality that which you are focusing on. Cool, huh?

Do you dread annual performance reviews (giving and/or receiving them)? Do you prefer to focus on what needs to be done versus taking the time to go inside yourself and understand why you're doing what you're doing?
Enter self-evaluation.
This term goes by many names - self-awareness, self-assessment, self-inquiry.
No matter how you phrase it, though, the bottom line is it plays an important role in your overall development - personally AND professionally. In this week's episode, Kim and Louise are joined by Certified Life Coach and creator of The SELF Method™, Jen Vertanen to talk about all things self-awareness - even about how it's okay if you're not ready to dive in deep to get to know yourself.
Jen is one of those rare birds that loves both her day job as a software development project manager AND being a life coach ("on the side"). You can learn more about Jen at:

Have you ever found yourself at a crossroads unsure of which direction to turn? It can feel heavy and overwhelming to make a decision from that place. Which one is the "right" choice? What happens if you make the "wrong" choice? It can be downright debilitating and keep you stuck for quite a long time.

We are all in such a hurry to move ahead.
And yet, much like an arrow, our careers and businesses shoot forward with greater momentum by pulling (or looking) backward.
This comes from doing something we love talking about here on Kickass Conversations... taking time for reflection.
When we spend time reflecting on the past, we have greater information to be able to move forward the way we are meaning to.
In this episode, Kim and Louise are joined by one of their former co-hosts of The Best Parts Podcast, Sara Doell. Sara is a life coach, college golf coach, lifetime member of the Ladies Professional Golf Association, and an Amazon Best Selling Author of the book Your Future Self Will Thank You.

Motivation is a powerful, yet tricky beast. Sometimes it's super duper easy to get motivated.
Then there are those other times when it's nearly impossible to figure out how to motivate yourself. What's up with that?!
Many people struggle to find the motivation they need to achieve the goals they have created for themselves.
Often, they get stuck wasting time and energy on things that aren't moving them forward.

We often focus on how much time we have to complete things - tasks, projects, etc. However, most folks rarely address the question of how much energy they have to complete those same things. Very often, time isn't the hindrance.
It's energy.
While we think we have an unlimited supply of energy, and in many ways, we do for as long as we're alive, the reality is that if we're not resourcing it appropriately for ourselves, we will quickly deplete what we do have.
This can take the form of burnout and other maladies that keep us from being able to keep moving forward.
In this episode of Kickass Conversations, Kim and Louise are joined by Shelley Smartly of The Smartly Comedy TV & Podcast Series to talk about resourcing your energy. You can learn more about Shelley and The Smartlys at https://thesmartlys.com

Is fear holding you back from making decisions or taking actions you really want to make?
Then a healthy dose of courage is just what the doctor ordered. Courage doesn't always mean we're not afraid. Sometimes, it means being scared, worried, unsure AND finding a way to do what we need to do.
Courage involves recognizing fear and embracing it. In this episode, Kim and Louise will be joined by their guest, Intuitive Voice Coach and Singer, Aideen Ni Riada Wolpe, to discuss what it takes to cultivate courage in our lives.

Often, we allow perfectionism to get in our way. It can stymie our progress and keeps us from truly performing at our best.
As recovering perfectionists themselves, Kim and Louise shared a mentor who instilled in them the idea that "it's ALL an experiment."
That idea has become a keystone in both of their lives and their businesses.
What's possible if you allow yourself to see life, work, everything as an experiment instead of something that needs to be perfected?
In this episode, Louise and Kim will explore this idea with their guest Jacinthe Koddo of Koddo & Co. Values help us live with direction and purpose. They are our guiding compass.
Whatever is going on in our lives or businesses, our values can show us a path forward. They help us make aligned choices and inform our thoughts, words, and actions.

Through self-assessment, you are able to become more aware and gain a deeper understanding of who you are and what makes you tick, find out what your weaknesses and strengths are, and better understand your emotional triggers and your leadership qualities.
Assessments are also powerful tools for organizations and teams. They can enable better hiring decisions and create individual development plans to improve performance.
By identifying team members' individual strengths, the team can create more synergy and it may even improve professional relationships.

Authenticity is all the buzz. Many workplaces are encouraging employees to bring their best, most authentic selves to their jobs. But what does it actually mean to be authentic?
Kim and Louise are joined this week by their guest, author and realtor Serena Holmes, as they explore ways to develop and maintain authenticity, why it’s hard to live an authentic life, and the benefits of being true to yourself.
Prior to becoming a realtor, Serena ran her own multi-award winning brand experience agency called Tigris Events. Her book chronicles how she went from surviving a troubled childhood to a self-styled, multi-faceted entrepreneur. We are living in a topsy-turvy world - one that feels like it's filled with uncertainty around every corner.
So, even at this time of year that feels cozy and celebratory for so many, how can we show up when the uncertainty has us feeling out of sorts?
In this episode, Kim & Louise settle in and talk about what uncertainty looks and feels like and how to navigate the raging waters of uncertainty.
Emotions. We all have them. It's part of being human.
However, some folks are really good at not showing them or letting them out at work. Others feel challenged dealing with the myriad of emotions that rise up throughout the day.
Which way is right? And how do we start to manage our emotions in the workplace in a way that doesn't siphon our humanity along with it?
These questions, and more, are what Kim and Louise dive into in this episode of Kickass Conversations. Whether you're used to being the "emotional one" or you have a team member who seems to have more emotions than you know what to do with, this is a great episode to tune into.
This week, our guest is Kim Downey, Feng Shui Advisor and the owner of Elevate Your Space Feng Shui (previously known as Lake Life Feng Shui). Kim works with clients across the globe, helping them to identify areas in their homes and offices that may be holding them back from creating their best lives. She is like a fairy godmother who helps you turn stagnant and lifeless areas into rooms full of active and healthy chi. Come learn a thing or two about how your environment can help support the emotions of your entire team!

The average human makes more than 35,000 decisions every day. Not all decisions are big decisions, but every decision does take energy for us to make.
Decision fatigue happens when decision-making becomes increasingly difficult.
So how can we prevent decision fatigue? And what are the signs that we're dealing with it?
That's what Kim, Louise, and guest, Amanda Neely of Wealth Wisdom Financial discuss on this Kickass Conversations.
Amanda is a small business and financial professional who shares her experiential knowledge through podcasting and developing personalized financial strategies for individuals and couples, in addition to profitability strategies for businesses. Her goal is to work with people to take charge of their cash flow, leverage their assets, and increase their profitability in ways that would make their grandma proud.

No matter what kind of work you do, you are always working for yourself.
It doesn't matter whether you own your own company or are an employee of an organization. Being the CEO of your career means that you think of your professional life with passion and vision. You operate strategically, not focusing on building up your resume, but actually doing work that aligns with your mission, vision, and values.
In this episode, Kim and Louise dive into this topic and talk about how to cultivate a CEO mindset regardless of your title.
Kim and Louise are excited to have this Kickass Conversation this week with Tina Baxter, an advanced practice registered nurse and a board-certified gerontological nurse practitioner through the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC), and owner of Baxter Professional Services, LLC, a consulting firm that provides legal nurse consulting services for attorneys and insurance professionals; wellness and chronic disease management coaching; and customized educational and operational resources to healthcare organizations.
In addition to all of this, Tina provides a weekly Facebook live program on business and health topics and teaches stress management strategies to clients of all ages. Listed as “Best Lessons” for 2019 and 2020 from Lessons.com, Tina is the founder of The Nurse Shark Academy where she coaches nurses to launch and scale their businesses.

There are certain times in our lives when we know exactly what we want, but no matter what we do, the universe just doesn’t seem to give it to us. What's up with that?! Why does it feel like such a struggle to get what we want?
To paraphrase what we all grew up hearing the Rolling Stones tell us: "You can’t always get what you want. But you get what you need."
Is this true? Or is it something we've conditioned ourselves to believe?
In this episode, Kim and Louise discuss how it's possible to get what you want in your business, your career, and your life.

On the day of this recording, there are 50 days left in 2022. It is also Remembrance Day in Canada and throughout the British Commonwealth, Veterans Day in the United States, and we are less than two weeks away from Thanksgiving in the United States.
So we thought it would be a great time to pause and reflect together. Where has 2022 brought us so far? What is it we see ahead of us in the next 50 days leading into 2023? How can we find moments to give gratitude, thanks, and remembrance for ourselves, our loved ones, and our ancestors (those that came before us)?
Join us for an introspective and Ryan Reynolds heavy discussion on the importance of taking time to pause and reflect while we practice it for ourselves and together.

We've been hearing from so many people recently that they are feeling like so much is at risk these days.
Businesses are seeing changes in the marketplace and are considering pivoting or closing shop. Individuals are afraid of losing their jobs or being down-sized and are considering jumping ship. On both sides of the coin, the risk to continuing feels massive... and yet the risk to making a change feels even scarier.
When it comes down to it, every decision we make (or don't make) comes with some level of risk.
So, what is one to do?
On this episode, Kim & Louise talk about the skill of right-sizing your risk so you can start to make aligned decisions with less stress.

You've likely heard people talking about scarcity vs. abundant (or growth) mindsets. The topic has shown up from boardrooms to lunchrooms to sporting events.
What was once thought of as a "soft" skill or a little "woo", is now mainstream and something people in all industries, roles, and types of organizations are looking at.
At the heart of it, your mindset is what it sounds like... a set way your mind naturally operates or thinks about things.
Research has shown that positive or growth mindsets allow us to be better able to overcome challenges, have a better sense of overall well-being, and can even prolong your life!
And yet, so many of our clients and folks we talk with are showing up from a place of scarcity, unable to even start opening the door to abundance and growth.
In this episode, Kim & Louise go straight to the heart of the matter and talk about what it's like operating from a scarcity mindset and share some ideas on how to start to shift to a growth mindset.

Here's the icky truth. We all sabotage ourselves. Yup. We do it all the time.
We don't mean to do it. We don't mean to get in our own way and prevent ourselves from moving forward. And yet... we do.
By procrastinating, refusing to ask for help, criticizing or judging ourselves or others, avoiding, withdrawing, or blameshifting (to name a few), we are damaging ourselves and others (and our prospects, when it comes down to it).
Why we do it and how we stop... that's where the magic happens.
When we start to understand those two things, we can change the behaviors that keep tripping us up.
In this episode, Kim and Louise dive deep into the idea of self-sabotage and how to break those habits that keep us stuck in our work and life.

We've all heard the old adage: “If you aim for nothing, you'll hit it every time.” That's where goals come in. They give us something to aim for. A bit of direction and purpose. The thing is... goals can be really scary. What if we don't meet them? What if we do? What if we set the wrong goal? What if... what if... what if? Truth be told, one of us (tune in to find out who) really can't stand the terminology around goals and goal-setting. And yet, has learned how to work with goals for herself and her clients in meaningful ways that create momentum.
There's a lot more to goals than meets the eye. On this week's show, Kim & Louise talk about goals, how to set them, what to do with them, and what happens when you do or don't achieve them.

What did you say?!
It happens to the best of us. Our words are misconstrued, the meaning is muddled, or our communication simply falls flat. Need an example? Think of the last time you experienced a significant misunderstanding that stemmed from differing interpretations of one or two words. It might not even have been that long ago.
It happens more than we care to admit - in both personal and professional settings.
Words are a significant way we communicate with each other. And yet, creating intentionality around shared language or rules about language are rarely discussed, especially in the workplace. In this episode, Kim & Louise jump down the rabbit hole of language in an effort to support you on your quest for a Kickass Career. Since Louise is an NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) practitioner, this is a doozy of an episode!

We've been taught that we must avoid showing our emotions at work.
And yet, by overmanaging our emotions, we are cutting off creativity, and communication, and are creating workplaces that don't work for the humans that work there.
Whether you have emotional staff members or are someone who wears their emotions on your sleeve, it's important to understand how to work with emotions when they show up at work.
On this week's show, Kim & Louise explore the world of emotions at work. It's sure to stir up some emotions in many of us!

Each of us has a set of values that guides us. When we're in alignment with our values, the work we're doing and the relationships we have feel good and as though they are in sync with each other.
When we're out of alignment with our values, things feel harder, we're faced with more struggle and turmoil.
On this week's show, Kim & Louise will discuss the importance of values in their work and help you start to identify and live into your own unique set of values so you can continue to develop Your Kickass Career.

“Stay positive!”
“Failure is not an option.”
“Everything will work out for the best.”
“If I can do it, so can you!”
“It could be worse.”
How many times have you heard (or said) these things? Frankly, it's pretty easy for so many of us to jump to the place of positivity when things get hard for ourselves or people we care about.
None of us like to be or see others in pain.
And yet, this type of default can actually cause more harm than good.
In this week's show, Kim & Louise are going to share their thoughts on toxic positivity, and how non-toxic positivity is only part of the story of good mental health.

If you dream of being a billionaire (like Bruno Mars) but are working 9-to-5 (like Dolly Parton), and money is what you want (like Barrett Strong said back in the 1960s), then you're playing the Compensation Game.
There are studies abound that try to teach us the rules of engagement for the Compensation Game, such as getting a new job every 3-5 years vs. staying in a position can lead to higher compensation. But is that really the game you want to play?
This week, Kim and Louise unpack some of the rules (as we understand them) and start to identify ways you can create your own Compensation Game play that works for you as you design Your Kickass Career.

Should I stay or should I go?
The Clash asked this important question back in 1981. It's something we should all ask ourselves on a regular basis. Is this job, organization, project, relationship, or environment serving me? Can changes be made to make work for me? Or, should I just go?
Very often, leaving can be hard and painful, even if it's leaving a circumstance that no longer serves us. Endings are hard. And knowing when to leave - before it gets to the point of toxic and damaging - is a skill worth learning.
This week, Kim and Louise dive into the heart of the matter and share thoughts on how to know when, prepare for, and take steps to leave a situation that is no longer serving you so you can step into your next level of growth and expansion.

What would it mean to you to be able to fit work into your life, instead of fitting your life around your work? Last week, we took a quick dip into the idea of work-life balance, how to be intentional with your time, and starting to develop a sense of having your work work for you, instead of banking time to live your life when work allows.
This week, we take a deeper dive into the subject as we discuss what has worked for each of us (both as entrepreneurs and working for others), as well as share actions you can take to start developing your own plan for shifting from a work-centered life to a life-centered life that incorporates the work you want to do in the world.

We all have them. Whether we like it or not. Money stories.
Made up of your beliefs, thoughts, and feelings about money, your unique money story is the personal narrative about money that you carry with you throughout your life.
The good thing about stories is they can always be re-written.
Think you're being undervalued? Want to negotiate a better salary or start charging higher rates but you break into a cold sweat just thinking about it? Or are you part of an industry, culture, or family unit that feels shame or guilt around receiving money?
Whatever end of the spectrum you are on, having a money story that fits with your values and is un-bundled from your self-worth is key to creating a beautiful relationship with money... on your terms.
