Angela shares her thoughts about the prevalence of pornography and the unexpected consequences. She relates the current acceptance of porn to what she was taught about food: what is largely accepted and encouraged is not actually healthy. It wasn't until she stopped consuming certain foods that she realized the adverse effects on her health. Porn is changing the way men and women relate, it strips men of vitality, desire, and the will to pursue.

that worked for him. Drew's vision is to help men who "feel like a loser in their mother's basement," learn to attack life head-on, with confidence. Patrick Spencer joins Angela to discuss the importance of discipline to a Warrior. Patrick is a CrossFit athlete, a personal trainer, and a published author. He believes that discipline is a tool that the Warrior has to use every day as his foundational building block. Vic Verdier joins Angela to discuss the role of violence in mature masculinity. Vic was an officer in the French Navy where he had the opportunity to train numerous soldiers in Close Quarter Combat, skydiving, long-range weapon shooting, first aid and explosives. One of the world’s top experts in deep mixed-gas technical scuba diving, he is also an expert in Martial Arts and fighting techniques. Vic is a Krav Maga Instructor, a firearm instructor with an extensive practice with athletes in South-East Asia. Since his certification as a Life Transformation Coach, a Neuro-Linguistic Programming Specialist and a Trauma Release Specialist by the Bennet-Stellar University, Vic has been able to specialize in helping men deal with the challenges associated with the aging process. Vic established Vic Verdier Coaching with the goal of providing men in their 40s and 50s the physical, mental, temporal and spiritual tools to transform their life.
Philip Folsom is a US Army veteran and anthropologist who has studied ancient warrior cultures from every age. He describes The Hero's Journey as, "the unavoidable psychological response to the unknown that is encoded in our DNA." In this episode, Philip breaks it down in an easily understandable way using popular stories from our culture. He explains that in order to have a meaningful life, a man must move from self-centered "boy psychology" to self-sacrificing "man psychology." In this episode, Will Spencer shares how The Renaissance of Men, founded in 2020, was the result of his own transformation through the world of men's personal development. Will was seeking the answer to questions such as; "What does it mean to be a man today? Who am I as a man? How am I going to show up in the world?" Through this work, Will was transformed body, mind, heart and spirit, and discovered that men's work is incredibly powerful and enriching to men and how they show up in the world as fathers, husbands, brothers, and as human beings. Shaun Cooke is a Men's Coach and Men's Group facilitator who joins Angela to tell his story of how his multiple head injuries led to debilitating depression. Shaun discusses his healing journey of self-love, discipline, and the encouragement and accountability he received in men's groups. Shaun is, "on a mission to help men be better" by helping them discover their inner world and the importance of opening that inner world up to the outer world. By exposing "all of the dirty, dark secrets and mysteries that are within" and becoming aware of them, men learn to manage those parts and won't be controlled by them. Shaun also believes in the power of dance to help men understand true leadership and the life giving power of masculinity and femininity working together to create. Michael Vilches is the founder of Man Under Construction. In this episode, Michael tells the story of his childhood; his parent's divorce, his absent father, and his reliance on his mother. As an adolescent, he became addicted to porn. That addiction led to problems in his first marriage which ultimately ended in divorce.
When he hit rock bottom he knew he had to change. Michael researched and started the process of healing. He realized the effect of his parent's divorce and his father's absence on his development, began to understand why he used porn and what void he was trying to fill, and began to construct the mature masculine version of himself so that he could be a great father and great husband to his new wife.

Luke Smith's destiny was to play college baseball. He worked for it, his parents sacrificed for it and the scholarship was awarded. His life and identity were wrapped up in the game. When an injury ended his career, Luke felt lost and betrayed by God and went off the rails. Through the love and encouragement of a former coach, years of doing the difficult inner work, and being faithful to a men's group which offers tough love, accountability and grace, he has found new life as a husband, father and mentor to young men. Luke and his wife Holly were high school sweethearts and have weathered many storms together. They have 5 children and are teaching them the love of Christ, and that true success is found in living a life of love and service to others.
Chad Zueck is a husband, father and pastor who has a heart for working with and helping men learn about, grow and thrive in mature masculinity. He is the founder of A New Kind of Man and recently joined the Men of Iron team as a podcast host. Chad joins Angela to discuss his "Six Bulletproof Ways to Become a Better Man."
