"Kingdom" in the NT is the word basileia which means "rule or authority of God"
"Gospel" and "good news" is the word euaggelion. It is the technical term for "announcement of victory."
Why do I live defeated?
"Repentance" in the NT is the word metanoia which means "change of the mind"

We become victorious when we repent of sin and live under the Kingdom of God.
Forgiveness is the decision to release someone from the debt/obligation that resulted when they injured me.
Unforgiveness is the decision to regularly return to, review, and re-live the moment of injury.
Unforgiveness in ANY relationship will cause pain in EVERY relationship.
Ephesians 4:31-32
Forgiving "as God in Christ forgave you" is TOTAL (amount), IMMEDIATE (when), and UNILATERAL (who).

What is removed when we forgive like this? Bitterness- uncontrollable negativity Anger- explosions of emotion Rage- Stoking the fire of anger Brawling- Ready for a fight Slander- quick to tear another down Malice- ill-will towards another
What does forgiveness produce? Kindness-- Soul warmth exemplified in tangible action Compassion-- Readiness to feel the pain of another. An open spirit and heart towards them.
The forgiven person must make the choice to forgive.
We must make the DECISION today. We must embrace the PROCESS everyday.
What is the process? I won't bring it up to them anymore. I won't bring it up to others anymore. I won't bring it up to myself anymore.

Forgiveness is the decision to release someone from the debt or obligation that resulted when they injured me.

5 Ways we rationalize UNFORGIVENESS (I would like these to each be separate slides, or at least not all come up at once)
- I can't forgive because it's too big.
- Time will heal it.
- I'll forgive when they say they're sorry.

I can't forgive if I can't forget. Unforgiveness is the decision to regularly revisit and re-live the offense.

If I forgive they'll just do it again.

Those who have harmed us rarely correctly measure the depth of the offense.

IT WAS AN UNPAYABLE DEBT
There is only ONE way out of an unpayable debt (Matthew 18:27)
Unforgiveness punishes those around you.
What has been forgiven in your life is INFINITELY more significant than what you are not forgiving.

VISION is a picture of the preferred future.
The church--CHRISTIANS--should be the activators of heaven's reality here on earth,.

Is the church called to address the current needs and realities of this world that are not explicitly "spiritual?" Hunger? Poverty? Mental illness? Addiction? Imprisonment? Inequality?
Personal fulfillment in the "work" of ministry is a bi-product of the real reason which is the EXAMPLE of Jesus and the TEACHING of scripture.

"Ekklesia"(the word translated "church")--- the called out community
Luke 19:10 The life of Jesus was to seek and save the lost. Jesus' disciples follow him in this task.
Seeking is a pursuit that is marked with an urgency of action.

Core Value----"THIS counts as church"----We embrace non-traditional methods to seek and save people who are far from Jesus.
Non-predictable results require non-predictable methods
We have one job-----> MAKE DISCIPLES Raising up disciples of Jesus is the primary work of the church.

We are to make disciples of Jesus, not ourselves.

The incarnation of Jesus tells us this: God does not retract Himself from our brokenness and slavery. God presses in further, enters our story, and immediately goes to work to restore and redeem.
Just because you're enslaved doesn't mean that God can't or won't use you effectively to serve others.

Difficult circumstances of life are not evidence of God's absence.
Trials are evidence of God's sovereign, full, no-holds barred battle with the old you to bring about the new you.

"Promised Land" is where God establishes, fortifies, and builds His eternal purpose for your life.

The process of deliverance puts us in touch with the one who is The Deliverer.
Be aware of tendencies and temptations to abandon the journey and turn back to "slavery"

Deliverance comes when we cease trying to will our way, but follow the path God has created for us.

Why would we get excited and be eager? Because No Ordinary Steward understands that giving the BEST of what they have has the potential to create the BEST someone else can have.

I will have this large statement below on a whiteboard on stage... and will erase parts of it as I go” think of it like 3 points... Jesus has chosen you to be a part of this No Ordinary Family of God, because he knew you would be a blessing, even through the brokenness.
The WIN is going from Broken to Blessed.

The Family of God is marked, not just by scooting over to make a space for “them”, but sacrificing your Life (time, talents, treasures) to go find them and bring them home. This can only marked by GREAT SACRIFICE.

For the Serpent: an eternal curse, condemnation to the ground, and enmity between Him and “woman.” It says, in Genesis 3:15 “I will cause hostility between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers. He will strike your head, and you will strike his heel.”

For the woman: pain in childbearing & the introduction of a gender hierarchy for the first time, in which she will be subject to man

For the man: Difficult work to get the earth to render sufficient resources

-We “get to crush the serpent under our head” together by living lives of mutuality and peacemaking under the New Covenant. THIS IS GOOD NEWS NOT JUST FOR YOU- BUT FOR THE WHOLE CHURCH AND THE WHOLE WORLD. IT IS GOOD NEWS FOR EVERY, MAN, WOMAN AND CHILD.

Anchoring ourselves in God’s faithfulness is how we arm ourselves with courage.

· The development of no less than 2 substantial cultural and/or spiritual bridges that connect the Hispanic community to the wider community
· The development of a marriage-mentoring ministry that inspires participation in 100% of the marriages at Conduit Ministries
· Lowering of the per capita rate of addiction and mental illness in Chaut. Co. by developing critical awareness and an empathic, Jesus-centered response
· The development of a Christ-centered post-release program geared toward no less than 100 previously incarcerated persons.
Review: ~Prayer is not natural. It must be taught, learned, and developed. ~One of Jesus' greatest prayer habits was solitude. ~Every bit of power we have in prayer has come through Jesus. ~Prayer is aimed to the Father--Not for anyone else! ~Prayer should be fervent. ~Prayer should be simple.
What does "if it is your will" really mean?

God allows Himself to be effected by us because He LOVES us. The reason God answers prayers is because His children ask.

Fasting is an intentional decision to go without food for a period of time in order to discipline your body and focus your spirit in prayer.
