God is a Spirit. When God created man and women, He created us in His image and likeness. This means we are created as spiritual beings. We are a spirit that lives in a body. The life of the body is in the spirit, and the life of the spirit is in relationship with God. When our spirits are separated from God, we die. Adam and Eve’s sin separated them from God.
