Prior to joining Health Affairs, Ann served as a consultant with Kaufman Wills Fusting and Company developing business solutions and marketing plans for prominent associations. She also served as Executive Director for the Society of Matrix Biology and as Director of Publications for both the American Association of Immunologists and the American Gastroenterological Association. Ann is currently working to become a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and previously earned an MA in English from the University of Iowa.

Dr. Andrew Corbett is the Paul T. Babson Chair of Entrepreneurship, former Chair of the Entrepreneurship Division, and currently the Faculty Director for the Butler Institute for Free Enterprise through Entrepreneurship at Babson College. He is an editor for the Journal of Business Venturing, and the Advances in Entrepreneurship, Firm Emergence, and Growth book series. Professor Corbett also holds an appointment as a Visiting Professor of Entrepreneurship at Nord University Business School in Bodø, Norway, and is currently the Larry and Eris Field Family Visiting Scholar at Baruch College in New York City.

Dan Mummert is Director of Online Education at the American Academy of Ophthalmology in San Francisco.
The Academy is one of the oldest and largest medical specialty societies in the U.S. It was founded 125 years ago. They have about 32,000 members total, including 6,000 international members.
Education is their primary focus. They offer a variety of programs to educate practicing ophthalmologists, residents, and other health professionals on the eyecare team.
Their annual meeting is one of the largest and most important in the world for ophthalmic education. They also develop and produce a wide range of print and electronic educational materials: books, audio, videos, self-assessment programs, and online education center.

Bob got his start in scholarly publishing in the late 80’s when he began working for Kluwer Academic Publishers’ as a Product Manager for the Humanities and Social Sciences list of books and journals.
During his stint with KAP, Bob spent two years at Kluwer’s HQ in The Netherlands where he continued supporting the HUMSOC list and also trained within the Sales Group in order to return to the US to head Kluwer’s sales presence in North America. Following his tenure at Kluwer, Bob worked at Addison-Wesley, where he supported multiple sales channels for AW’s renowned Computer Science booklist. Bob’s career continued with marketing and sales positions at Academic Press and Blackwell, before accepting a position with the American Institute of Physics, where he represented AIP’s wide range of publishing services to societies, associations and commercial publishers.
For the last 11 years, Bob has been working for Aries Systems, selling Aries’ editorial and production workflow solutions.

Steven Heffner is the Managing Director, Publications, for IEEE, where he oversees the Institute’s portfolio of scholarly journals, books, and magazines, including the award-winning IEEE Spectrum.
Before joining IEEE in 2020, Steven was Vice President of Product Strategy at Wolters Kluwer Health, with responsibility for the Lippincott line of journals in medicine and nursing, the medical education and practice book collection, the institutional research platform Ovid, and other digital solutions for education, medical practice, and industry. Prior to Wolters Kluwer, Steven held various editorial and management positions in the trade, business, and policy sectors. Steven has served on the Executive Council of the Professional and Scholarly Publishing Division of the American Association of Publishers, the board of the scholarly dark archive CLOCKSS, and co-chair of the PROSE Awards for excellence in scholarly and professional publishing.
