A place where we discuss the less comfortable experience of being human and relate to one another to understand a world that has stopped making sense. This show is about Physical and Mental Health, understanding and navigating the tricky hurdles that our reality throws at us on a daily basis, all packaged in conversations with our 3 radically diverse Co-Hosts: a Communication Major that chose to be a Holistic Health Practitioner instead, an Ex-Engineer turned Therapist and Coach and a Journalist, Radio Host and Media Personality. Knowledge isn't power if we can't relate.
Did you ever find yourself in a heated conversation involving money? We definitely have… And we found that many times our throats tightened, our jaws clenched, our breathing became shallower and our heart rate rose… For others, it might be the opposite, completely tuning out with glassy eyes and feeling increasingly distant from what is happening… Does any of this feel familiar?
So maybe just take a moment to ask yourself, what is money for me? Is it just a number on a piece of paper that we can use to exchange for stuff we want?
If it was, then we wouldn’t be either so attached, or detached from it. Ask yourself again, do you feel comfortable talking about money with your parents, your siblings, your friends, your peers, strangers?
As the audio clip from the critically acclaimed TV show Mad Men illustrates, there’s something more than meets the eye about money. Something that either gets us to avoid the topic altogether even when our world is going down in flames, or to get super emotional about it. And that’s why it’s high time we started talking about money, and our relationship with it, right here, in the Liku-Liku Podcast. Enjoy.
This is Reality Check, where we discuss important topics and concepts that form the foundation of our lives, and yet need to be contemplated so that perspectives may open the way to fresh new takes and hopefully help us deal with that nagging feeling of being stuck. Facts matter for sure, but equally or even more importantly, we want to put all options on the table and relate openly about what we may have missed as a result of our unescapable biases and other horse blinders. This is a place where we revisit what we thought we understood or knew, in order to spark new growth.
As usual, please note that this is not a replacement for adequate treatment, so please get in touch with someone qualified to help you if you are struggling more than you should. This includes seeing a doctor for medical attention or seeking therapy for affective and mental health challenges.

Do you ever wonder what made you who you currently are? Was it mostly your genes, or your upbringing? Or was it the people you ended up mingling with? A worthwhile topic for contemplation, and one not easy to answer conclusively with a generic blanket statement! So we do this work of discovery here, relating with real people. Previously on the Liku-Liku Podcast, we talked to Melanie Yap, a volunteer with a mental and emotional support group in Sabah (Malaysia) about the story of her life, growing up being the elder sibling. Melanie quickly took on the mantle of being a caretaker for almost everyone around her: for her brother upon her parents’ divorce, the different groups she joined in school, her friends… And that must have somehow led her to volunteering with a mental health support group, what do you think? You can listen to the whole story in Part 1 of her interview. But mainly, what Melanie wants to talk about is the lack of the same care and support for mental health workers and volunteers in their organization, including stigmatization. Have a listen to this second part of her interview where we talk in depth about this, mental health in general and our attitude surrounding the topic of people-pleasing and more. Enjoy.

Have you recently had the chance to be on the receiving end of an open hearted exchange in which you felt heard and seen? These experiences can do wonders to relieve our ever-increasing stress levels. And yet, we often don't even think about the other person when we're absorbed in our painful experiences. By now, the topic of mental health has become so widely spoken, which is a good thing, but it's also very much focused on those suffering from mental health and no focus at all on those providing the mental health care and support. Honestly, I don't think we even think about it. How mental health workers and supporters are also human and therefore have their mental health to deal with too. This is a very subtle topic, as it is obviously not the responsibility of the person receiving mental health care to listen to their professional caregivers. That's why we are excited to share with you this conversation we had with Melanie Yap, who is a volunteer with a mental health support organization in Sabah. There's a lot to unpack, but for this first part, let's hear about Melanie's background from being raised in a divorced parents environment and how that shapes her outlook of the world as she grows older and more. Have a listen.

Does it ever feel to you like Life’s some kind of cruel game whose rules are unknown, unclear and unfair? Like some kind of Battle Royale a la Squid Games in which we are all somehow pitted against one another striving for our individual survival at the expense of everyone else’s? Well, that is somehow weaved into the narrative that we consciously or unconsciously choose to tell ourselves, in this game of Truth or Consequences. And seeing where we are and where we are headed, it seems that despite Truth being at the core of many of our beliefs and pillars of our society (Justice, Science, Religion, etc), it appears we haven’t been so good at the game and are facing dire Consequences… And yet, if we clearly lay out the map of how things are, we can see that it may not be an entirely inescapable fate, and that there is hope yet to achieve the true potential of humanity’s unique abilities. This is what we discuss today in this Part 2 of our episode on the shift of our World’s narratives. Have a listen.

Do you remember ever being part of a shouting match (as a rebellious teenager or perhaps the parent on the other side) involving a "You're going to tell me the truth right now!" quickly followed by a "... Or ELSE??!!!". We definitely can relate, as it is, for better or worse, one of the games that we human beings can't seem to quit playing... Truth or Consequences, which we named this episode after, is not only a TV game but it's also the name of a town in the US, and a phrase that describes the lifestyle that many people around the world have chosen to live by. It represents the shattered dreams, lofty goals and golden aspirations of our forefathers that were based on the ideals adopted from their leaders. However, these ideals have resulted in a short-sighted vision for Humanity, leaving a struggling to deny our shadows and realize our shortcomings. As a result, we are left with a lifetime of work to find the truth within ourselves and shed light on the path of our own redemption and Healing. In this week's episode, we will explore the concept of Truth or Consequences and delve deeper into its implications for our lives. Join us, as we discuss the challenges and opportunities of finding our own truth, and living a life that is authentic, and fulfilling. Thank you so much for being here and let's begin our journey towards self-discovery and growth.

When's the last time things went according to your plans? Woody Allen famously said "If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans", and we can wholeheartedly relate... Our experience is that even for the most meticulous planners, life is often unpredictable and can seem to make a joke out of our desire for certainty! And it might be for the best... Either way, to accommodate and adjust to these life’s Liku-Liku twists and turns, we have to pause and ponder, and take the time to take stock of what we’ve been through, what we’ve learned both good and bad, and admire the beauty in the small things. In this way, we pave the way for a better future, with more of what we want and less of what we don't want... This is what we do in today’s episode, looking back on the previous year of podcasting, but also hopefully modeling how to write our narrative together in a way that makes us feel more connected each time, whether microphones are involved or not. Enjoy!

Life works in mysterious ways… Or does it? Sometimes it takes time and perspective to peel the veil of mystery and gain clarity, don’t you think? Abang Rahino (aka Mas Rino) is a great illustration of this. So after we learned in the last episode about Mas Rino’s challenging childhood experiences during difficult times, today we get to discover how these early days shaped his latter days. Mas Rino’s vision of the world as one rife with conflicts contributed - consciously or unconsciously - to a yearning for Peace, which landed him in post-2004-Tsunami Aceh as part of the Trauma Relief team for the victims. The story goes on to show us that no matter how different and distant we feel we are from each other, we are all interconnected, and our struggles as human beings reflect the same sentiment. We hope this story can help you make sense of the world, and encourage you to piece together your own story. Have a listen.

Have you learned something new today? Life is, after all, a series of fortunate and unfortunate learnings. Wouldn’t you agree? In this episode, we have a special guest to learn from. Abang Rahino, or Mas Rino is the youngest of eight children born through the marriage of two prominent Indonesian artists and activists, S. Sudjojono and Mia Bustam, whose works are known nationally and internationally in the 1950s and 60’s. That might sound like it's a really long time ago and not so relatable. But we found Mas Rino’s story to be nothing short of fascinating, giving us insights to how life was like in Indonesia during that troubled period. We get peak into his life as the youngest child of very politically and creatively outspoken and involved parents, and how that kind of involvement affected their marriage and family dynamics to the point of having extramarital affairs and eventually divorce. What was Mas Rino’s felt experience, as a child, having to witness his mother being forcefully taken away from him, and for them to have to almost forget about each other for years? There's just so much to unpack in Mas Rino's story, and we hope that you will listen to the entire story. But for now, this is part one. Enjoy.

Wisdom. Is that something that you would like to have, or have more of? We certainly feel that way and attaining wisdom is one of the goals of our daily practices so that we may live a better, more purposeful life. However, according to Socrates, one of the most famous philosophers from Ancient Greece, the only wisdom is in knowing you know nothing. This statement challenges us to question our assumptions and keep an open mind to new knowledge and experiences. In today's fast paced world, it's so easy to fall into the trap of thinking we know everything we need to know. But Socrates reminds us that there is always more to learn, and any knowledge we do have may be insignificant or even false compared to what we have yet to discover. So we invite you to join us as we delve into the power of curiosity, learning and growth. Together, let's explore how we can apply Socrates’ timeless teachings to our personal and professional lives. By opening our minds and hearts to new ideas, we can bring more light to the shadows and gain clarity in our views. So let's dive in and discover the transformative power of Socratic wisdom.

Do you sometimes pause to think about the things you don't know? Sometimes it feels like we are stuck because we just don't know enough to be able to move forward. A vast sea of emptiness lies in front of us. Other times, there's too much we know and confusion just paralyzes us. Too much information. And yet, what may be the biggest threat to our growth and existence may be something else altogether : what we don't know we don't know... Although we do not really align with former US Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's world view, he does make an impactful statement about blind spots in our knowledge. For every bit of knowledge we think we possess, there's just so much more out there that we do not know. By immersing ourselves in learning and growth, we can become open to the unexpected, grow through uncomfortable experiences. With this process of letting go of what we think we know, of being open to unlearn and be curious instead of coiling in fear at the things we don't know or have yet understand, we can heal ourselves. We can know our values and develop a stronger and more compassionate sense of who we are to make it through the Liku-Liku twists and turns of our lives. And for this, we are grateful.

Chronic Illnesses (which the WHO coins as Non-Communicable Diseases or NCDs) have been on the rise for decades and they are the leading cause of mortality and disability globally. Most of you will know someone that is affected, if not you yourself. So it is important for us to understand the challenges, if not to support someone, because we are likely to experience them at some point.
Nolwenn Kerroux recently found herself dealing with one such chronic condition, right after having to end a 20 year relationship. And despite the challenges, she chose to find her ways to live with it and to still keep on searching for the best way for her to live happily no matter what.
In this 2nd Part, she shares the tools and ways of being that allow her to be at peace with the process and make the best out of this life, so it is an important tale of not being defined by our conditions and not settling for statistics and prognostics but choosing how we are going to live on our own terms.
Of course, no one likes to sit through a show halfway, so do go and check the 1st Part in our previous episode, you will be glad you did!
We hope you will find this one helpful and hopeful in your own journey. Enjoy!

Do you sometimes feel that the media are over-focused on celebrities and influential personalities? We do, and that's why we also want to showcase the wisdom that we, the "ordinary" people, have gathered through our challenges.
Today we are talking to Nolwenn Kerroux, whose story of overcoming such challenges and embarking on a continuous learning journey can be familiar and relatable to many of us. In recent years, Nolwenn has gone through a lot : a major breakup ending her 20 year relationship, a chronic illness diagnosis, the struggles of parenting and the process of finding her own voice, getting out of the years-long conditioning of what a girl or women should be like, what we should think, what we should do.
And she may be from France, and some of us listening might think that French people have it differently, right? Different language, different culture, different benefits. But that's why it's important that today's story is told by Nolwenn herself because it makes us realize that regardless of where we are in the world or how different our backgrounds can be, the sentiment of our own struggles and ideas of wanting to create a better life is the same.
There is some inner wisdom in the journey that Nolwenn is living through every day that can help us connect with our own. All of which we are going to talk about in this episode. Have a listen.

"Behold the turtle. He makes progress only when he sticks his neck out."
What do you think about this statement? Words to live by, encouraging us to take risks and live our best life. But what kind of risks?
Former Harvard President James Bryant Conant, used these words in 1949, and although he worked on Chlorophyll, a very important molecule in the natural world, he was most infamously known for working on poison gases including Lewisite, which Wikipedia quotes as “useless”, adding that “ apart from deliberately injuring and killing people, it has no commercial, industrial, or scientific applications''.
The saying was also known to be “circulating amongst the scientists and administrators of the Manhattan Project which produced the first nuclear weapons” according to the website Quote Investigator. So this kind of puts things in perspective, don’t you think?
Any which way, the point here is to bring up the 2nd Part of our discussion on Values and What We Really Value. In essence, what we stand for. But today’s episode is also about how we stand for this idea and how that shows up practically in our daily life. Enjoy.

"I'm just a modern (woman/man) trying to have it all..." Is this something that would describe you or anyone you know? The movie this comes from may not be so familiar to you unless you’re a Gen Xer as the movie was released in ‘98. In it, you could hear fictional character Morticia Addams explaining the struggles of a modern woman trying to juggle her many roles and lacking time for her macabre penchant towards dark forces and hellish crusades. Of course, Morticia’s hobbies are part of the satirical tone of the comedy movie Addams Family Values, but the point is to introduce the idea that in a life without Values, it is easy to get buried in the daily chores and to forget who we really are and what we really stand for. These values are so important, and yet we often don’t really know what they are for us individually. Understanding them and finding what they are to live a more intentional life is what we discuss today in the first episode of a 2 parts topic on our true Values. Enjoy.
This is Reality Check, where we discuss important topics and concepts that form the foundation of our lives, and yet need to be contemplated so that perspectives may open the way to fresh new takes and hopefully help us deal with that nagging feeling of being stuck. Do you ever feel like one of your favorite personalities or interviewers deserves to be in the hot seat and get a taste of their own medicine (in a nice way of course!)? This is what we do today in our audio take on The Sprinkler Sprinkled (the earliest known comedy shot on film in 1895!) with the Second Part of Amy D's Interview. Our favorite Co-Host Amy D answers our questions in an effort to get to know the real human being behind the Public Persona. If you haven’t already, please go and check out the 1st Part of this Interview so you’re able to make the best out of this intimate sharing experience we captured for you. But beyond simply sharing a person’s thoughts and feelings about their own life, we are hoping that this can be a stepping stone or launch pad for many to engage in the therapeutic process of self-reflection and narrating the story of our lives. Enjoy.

Do you have trouble answering the question "Who am I"? You wouldn't be alone in that struggle, which you would share with our very Co-Host Amy D! Today is the 1st Part of a 2 episodes Interview which could have been named "Amy’s song" as it is dedicated to Amy’s story. This special interview was recorded as an occasion to celebrate Amy’s 5 years of doing her KK12FM radio show Reality Bites which is coming to an end on the radio station. And it also an opportunity to get to know the real human being behind the glossy cover of the public roles she has taken over the years. We hope you will enjoy this 1st part of our authentic soul searching exchange as much as we did recording it.

Hello everybody. It's the second part of our episode on Radical Self-Acceptance. You know, for many years I thought I've got this whole "love yourself, accept yourself" figured out. Until I started digging deeper into why in spite of following the golden rule of loving yourself - or so I thought - I still feel like crap about myself, about my life.
What I found was not pretty. The hard pill for me to swallow was, all those years of quote-unquote, "loving myself", I was only loving the parts of myself that was approved by society and the people around me. It was limited Self-Acceptance. I did not have it in me to Radically Accept and love myself. What does it mean to radically accept ourselves? I think it means making peace with our demons!
Genuinely loving all parts of ourselves including and especially the ugly, the difficult, the angry, the slow parts.
We discuss more in this second part of our episode on Radical Self-Acceptance.
Have a listen.

When scrolling through your social media feed, how many times will you come across the term "Love yourself"? Or even how many movies you know has that "loving ourselves" as its theme or central message? And songs? Ah, too many to mention here. Self love has grown to become a buzzword, with good intentions. And while much of it has side tracked to become phony money-making schemes, it's also an important movement that has helped many of us learn to treat ourselves with a little more compassion. But let's be honest, it's not easy. Especially the part where loving and accepting ourselves will only truly work if we radically do it, meaning we have got to learn how to love and accept even and especially the parts of us that are not that "pretty". Easier said than done, but this two-part episode will reveal to you - or at least we tried! - the Why and the How of Radical Self-Acceptance. Have a listen.

When considering the topic of addiction, do you sometimes have a knee-jerk reaction along the lines of “oh but I don’t have an addiction”? I know that I’ve had these many times, and that’s ok, because it takes courage to admit our shortcomings. But as our Guest Jeremy Wong would agree, it stops us from healing and growing. Part 1 of his interview was all about the tale of his struggles with denial and the debilitating effects of his addictive behaviors, and today in Part 2 we focus on the story of Post Traumatic Growth and Recovery that brought him to become the Co-Founder and Clinical Director of Borneo Recovery. We hope you will be able to relate to the experiences we discuss and that the perspectives offered will allow you to become an advocate of compassion and healing of the myths and stigma that society currently holds against addicts.
Have you ever found yourself saying something like “I am so addicted to my Netflix show”, or maybe “That food is sooo addictive!”. Like many other things, pop culture has had a tendency to make the word sound benign, and even sometimes make it sound like a good thing. But make no mistake, addiction is no joke, and it can creep on you like a wolf in sheep’s clothing. The latest Opioid Crisis claimed 70,000 lives in 2020 alone. The website Our World in Data reports that “Collectively, smoking, alcohol and illicit drug use kills 11.8 million people each year. This is more than the number of deaths from all cancers.”
Serious stuff. But behind the statistics lie the stories of real people, so to inaugurate the start of this brand new season, we have a special guest that will tell one such story. Jeremy Wong is a Certified Substance Abuse Therapist and the Clinical Director of Borneo Recovery. In this 1st part we talk about his origin story that took him to the bottom of the pit, and we hope it will allow you to see this social issue with more compassion and understanding.

Do you tend to second-guess yourself or the path that you're taking? Most journeys are longer and more arduous than we'd hoped for, and it's easy for us to forget the reasons why we even started them to begin with... When lost in the fog or being down in the weeds, our mind can lead us to some dark places, raising sometimes self-punitive questions about our ability to go on... We can all agree that for the victory to be sweet the journey needs to be bitter at times. So trust the process they say, but how do we know if this path or process is worth trusting? Especially in our healing journeys to redeem ourselves and live a life worth living. This is what we discuss today on this second part of tis episode of the Liku-Liku Podcast. Enjoy!

Have you ever attempted anything harder than you can chew? If so, you’re most likely to have heard "Trust the Process" in one form or another. Same likely goes if you are religious, as faith is one of the core foundations. For others, it could be related to personal struggles with challenges such as alcoholism and drug abuse, or the mental health journey of hitting rock bottom and then bouncing back up. So then, Trust the Process… Can we, or should we trust blindly, and what kind of process are we even supposed to trust? These are some of the questions we discuss in today’s first part of our take on Trust the Process. Enjoy!

Are you judgemental, or quick to judge others or yourself? "Me? No... I have a big heart for everyone! Other people however...". That's the kind of answer we're most likely to give when caught by surprise, isn't it? But deep down, we know that we have our kind of people, and then there's the other kind... Life and society contribute in making us biased and quick to judge, yet this can also negatively impact our well being and that of others as everyone ignores their judgy ways, leading to silent segregation... Today we walk the talk and bare ourselves in displaying our own judgements and biases we're not proud of, hoping we can all make that a practice for a better society... Enjoy!

Love is like walking the tight rope... Would you agree with this statement? It can certainly give someone vertigo, and it also has an element of balance between the push and pull of creating and maintaining attraction... To me, it feels like a dangerous tug of war in which our hearts and minds, as well as our overall wellbeing, risk being severely damaged... This aspect of love known as infidelity alone deserves to be talked about. Yet, we are not known to indulge in black and white thinking, so the perpetrator's side also comes into the lens of our understanding of why this break of trust happens, how to not have it happen again and how to heal durably from this deepest of wounds. Enjoy!

How would you go about explaining Love to someone who has never felt it? Very tricky indeed... Yet most of us would probably describe it as a fleeting sensation that makes you fuzzy inside... While it may be that, it also has deeper foundations in the trust that gets us to feel that someone has our back no matter what. But we rarely stop to think about how trust is essential to our lives until the rug has been pulled from under our feet, and we find ourselves on the floor, in shock that no one was there to rescue us. Even worse when our trust has been betrayed by the very one we trusted... An explosive cocktail of emotions is then spilled, as those who experienced first hand being cheated on can attest. And yet, in the Liku-Liku Podcast, you know that we always strive to tell the other, less spoken story too. Today is no different, so please enjoy hearing the 2 sides of cheating in relationships in the desperate journey for love and acceptance.
This is Reality Check, where we discuss important topics and concepts that form the foundation of our lives, and yet need to be contemplated so that perspectives may open the way to fresh new takes and hopefully help us deal with that nagging feeling of being stuck. So you're stressed out. Or maybe life just seems to be asking too much out of you. Simply put, you need a break! What do you usually find yourself doing? As much as we'd like to be able to say that we go for a walk in nature or engage in some healthy expressive arts, we're really much more likely to consume, one way or another. Some go for a smoke, some for a doughnut, and scrolling for a while on our phones is also typically involved. Does it help? Temporarily, yes. On the other hand, endless consumption - beyond the obvious negative effects that we don't need to mention - has hidden costs that we rarely pause to think about. It changes the way we see the world and other humans in it, simply because we don't engage in the process of creation and participation, which create pathways for hope and actual solutions when we feel stuck in life. We hope that this is a discussion that you will useful. Enjoy!

Scars... They are the markings of our life, like tree rings showcase the constant ebb and flow of harsh winters and bountiful summers. And although we tend to associate these marks with our physical bodies, the emotional scars left by years of miscommunications can be much deeper and much harder to heal. In Part 1, we discussed the communication breakdowns that too often mar our relationships with our families. But to truly heal ourselves and our relationships, we need to take a deep dive into the roots of the problem and find practices and rituals that compound daily to bring the salvation that we so desperately need in these troubled times... This is what we discuss in today's episode. Enjoy.

You're having what should be a benign conversation about mundane everyday stuff with a spouse, and yet for a reason that you can't seem to comprehend, you start seeing eyes frowning and what used to be a peaceful moment suddenly turns into a whirlwind of unwanted emotions. Your attempts to rectify the situation seem to only be making things worse, and soon the scene turns into what looks from the outside like 2 bloodthirsty hounds fighting in the pits... We've all been there, although some of us may be lucky enough to make a narrow escape... And when the show is over, how much time will it take for us to recover from the wasted energy, to flush out the toxic stress hormones from our system? As mundane as communication sounds to most, this is where the most profound improvements can be made for our quality of life and sense of fulfilment. We hope you can find value in this episode, on the week following the International Day of Families (the 15th of May). Enjoy

Have you ever seen a Hedgehog up close? When looking at it, it's hard to imagine that we could have much in common (apart from being mammals I guess). And yet, these odd-looking creatures could hold the secret to much of our dissatisfaction in life... Or at least the part that relates to our need for connection with our kind, which we crudely underestimate thereby contributing to mental health issues. Even though these animals are armed with spikes, they actually behave like very fragile and vulnerable creatures, and curl into protective mode to cover their soft body parts. And this is where Schopenhauer tells us that we might be more alike than we think: describing the mechanics of human connection, he compared us to hedgehogs desperately looking for warmth in the dead of winter, and finding ourselves stung by the characteristics of our kind... So once more, the human condition mimics a dancing act in which we strive through pain and hardships to find the distance of least pain and maximum warmth. It is this beautiful yet painful dance which we discuss today on the Liku-Liku Podcast. Enjoy.

Cruel Dilemme (EM09) -
Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/liku-liku-center/message
Glacial tension in the air. It was all going well, and suddenly the space is being wrapped into a palpable atmosphere of awkwardness and deep seated discomfort. The silence is deafening and the seconds feel like hours or even days as everybody is either frozen, giggling nervously, or looking for the fire escape... Sounds familiar? We've (almost) all felt that at one point. And quite often, it happens following a sharing that didn't find its audience, getting many to think "too much information". What makes witnessing vulnerability so difficult, have we forgotten how to be with each other's pains and discomforts? In essence, how to be human? And how can we do this better? This is what we share and discuss today, on the Liku-Liku Podcast. Enjoy.

The Secret. The Power of Now. You Are a Badass - How to Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life. Have you read any of these? Or maybe these books or their closely related siblings are sitting idly on your coffee table or book shelf? Either way, through real friends or social media quotes, it is very likely that you have been exposed to the works emanating from the 10.4 Billion US Dollars Self-Help Industry (numbers for US only!). In the name of curiosity, we wonder, is this industry successful because it saves the lives of people lost in limbo, or because it keeps us in a loop of motivation and defeat? We all need to be inspired to continue on the tough journey of life, and it feels good to read uplifting quotes from time to time, but is that really all it takes to grow and move ahead in our lives? This is what we discuss today on the Liku-Liku Podcast.
If you want to send a message, you can do so through the Anchor page below, where you can anonymously share a voice memo. All we will mention is an Initial, and your gender if you mention it.

No man is an Island. Ever heard that saying? If you listen to the Podcast, you probably heard Amy D saying it at some point, and for good reasons. The saying comes from 17th Century Poet John Donne, who argued with his words that (pardon the shortcut) everyone needs connection in some way, whether we like it or not. We have relationships whether we like it or not, starting with ourselves. And often we find that humanity and the people in it struggle with them more than they should or could... Do you feel like yours are not meaningful, fulfilling or maybe even just stable and predictable in a good way? We can relate, and we figure out through our experiences why it is so and where we are potentially missing golden opportunities.
This is Reality Check, where we discuss important topics and concepts that form the foundation of our lives, and yet need to be contemplated so that perspectives may open the way to fresh new takes and hopefully help us deal with that nagging feeling of being stuck. NO. N and O, two letters, single syllable. Easy to say for anyone on this planet regardless of their language of culture, and almost as easily understood. But we know that's just the theory, don't we? How easy is it for you to turn down a friend's birthday party when you're too tired and should be resting, to politely decline a work function where you are expected, or refuse yet another one of those gigs that you don't really enjoy doing...? The reality is quite different when we are faced by another human being requesting some of our precious time... But why is it that it can be so hard? Does it affect everyone? Can we get better at it so we don't have to suffer real negative long term consequences? And if so, how? These are among the questions we discuss today, on the Liku-Liku Podcast. Enjoy.

Do you know what day is the 7th of April 2022? If you don't, that's ok. I didn't! It's actually World Health Day courtesy of the World Health Organization. Now I'm not big on random days for celebrations, after all, does it make sense to celebrate women, fathers or children one single day a year and then leave them in the abyss of oblivion the rest of the time? While there's room for discussion here, I can't deny that we do need reminders. Without them, important things can end up on the back burner. And if they stay there too long, we can end up paying a hefty price for our selective memory... And the focus, of this year, "Our Planet, Our Health, is pretty much summing up the 2 places in which we're probably about to pay the highest price... This is why we discuss how to shift from Surviving to Thriving, today on the Liku-Liku Podcast.

Ok, no bad psychotherapist jokes this time, cross my heart! Only letting you know that this conversation on Mother Wound, the scar that less-than-perfect connections with our mothers can leave in us, was one that we enjoyed so much that we had to cut it in 2 episodes. We hope it will be useful and relatable to you too. So here is the 2nd part of this conversation about Mother Wound. Enjoy.

Have you ever heard this one : "The Nile is not a River in Egypt". Wait... What? It IS a river in Egypt!!! ... Alright my bad, psychotherapist joke courtesy of Woody Allen, and it should have read "Denial is not a river in Egypt"... Makes sense now? Denial is a strong theme in the field of psychology, and it points at something deep that stops us from looking at what hurts. It usually revolves around something strongly at the foundations of our beliefs, something so deep that merely touching it would cause our entire being to shake. As a result, we usually have such strong reactions that it can leave others wondering what's up with us. Now we're not here to discuss who is and who is not in denial, but when it comes to shaking the foundations of our entire being, is there really anything deeper and more primal than our connection to our mother (or the lack thereof)? If things don't go so well, our childhood can leave us with a scar, which we discuss today in the 1st part of this conversation about Mother Wound.
Have you ever been on the losing end of a violent argument and felt small? Or have you been the one regretting afterwards despite having won the shouting competition? It happens to all of us at least some of the time... And while I was just mentioning the very obvious examples, there is no shortage of situations that make us feel less one way or another, out of fear, shame, or any such emotions and feelings... So what could the antidote be then? Well, if you've been following our podcast, it's one of these terms that just keep coming back, and it might already be at the tip of your tongue: Safe Spaces. But beyond the hashtag, what do the words mean? Are safe spaces real, can we create them and what is the recipe? Those are the questions that we ask and answer today. And like what Paracelsus taught us, differentiating the poison from the cure might be a subtle matter of dosage...
If I had a magic wand to bestow any human quality upon you, which one would you choose? Unsurpassable wits or intelligence? Unimaginable strength that moves mountains? Maybe it wouldn't be the 1st one for everyone, but a lot of us wouldn't mind having more courage in our life, to face up to that slave-driving boss or colleague, to speak up to that toxic friend that always wants to dump their drama on us but never has time for ours, to overcome the fear and ask that guy/girl out on a date... The use cases are endless. But is being courageous and brave really the same thing? Or is the difference simply lost on us because of our crazy schedules that don't allow for reflection...? What acts do we define as courage or bravery, and what does that say about us if we don't do them? This is the topic of today's episode. of the Liku-Liku Podcast

Rudyard Kipling - If

Ever felt like throwing your hands in the air in frustration? Or caught yourself just about to roll on the floor and kick and scream in disapproval? Some people do that when the opposite team just scored, because OBVIOUSLY it was a foul, or somebody cheated! Or others do that when their favourite dish just finished at the restaurant... Either way, it's quite likely that the last time it happened, you weren't 3 or 5 years old... Tantrums actually have many different shapes and forms, and they can be quite subtle sometimes, unlike what I just described... Yet they can throw havoc in our lives and cause us to have unfulfilling relationships, so this is what we relate about today, in the Liku-Liku Podcast. (Happy Mahashivaratri!)

What does being social mean to you? With our day and age often touted as being the era of Social Media, that question can sound like a broken record... Oh no... Again? Really? Yet in line with topics like gender equality, race equality and many others, just because we feel like it's a cliché doesn't mean that we get to stop discussing it... We're far from where we need to be on many fronts, so it's not done until it's done... You know what I'm saying? So how do we really fare with the quantity and quality of our relationships? Are our connections reliable, or only skin deep? This topic is as uncomfortable as it is crucial for us human beings, and these issues were often not created by the pandemic - it just made them more visible and painful. This is why today we discuss social health as if our life depended on it. Because it does...
This is Reality Check, where we discuss important topics and concepts that form the foundation of our lives, and yet need to be contemplated so that perspectives may open the way to fresh new takes and hopefully help us deal with that nagging feeling of being stuck. Who Do You Think You Are? What kind of tone do you picture when you are reading this in you mind? Maybe you're calm and composed. But then maybe you've heard this before and it was said to you, and in that case I'd bet this is most likely sounding aggressive... On the flipside, if you happened to be someone important (like the Director of NASA in the movie "The Martian") and someone had the audacity to ask who you might be, you might be the one losing your temper... My great grandma allegedly refused the hug of Charles de Gaulles, the hugely celebrated General & Hero who freed France from Nazi Germany on the days of the official end of World War 2... She didn't know who he was and apparently didn't care! But we're not talking about Great Grandma today... So do you know who you are, at least? Figuring out this seemingly trivial question could simply be the difference between a meaningful and an unfulfilled life... So this is what we discuss today on the Liku-Liku Podcast.
This is Reality Check, where we discuss important topics and concepts that form the foundation of our lives, and yet need to be contemplated so that perspectives may open the way to fresh new takes and hopefully help us deal with that nagging feeling of being stuck. Has capital L Loss been a part of your life? If it has, you will probably agree that it's painful and can also lead you to a pretty confusing maze of feelings and emotions. So much so that in fact, one can try to hasten the process or even avoid it altogether... We just don't like it when we don't know how long something uncomfortable will last, do we? And if Loss has not been a part of your life, well, it will be at some point, so we all benefit from learning how to deal with it better. But not just for ourselves, and also how to be a better support and anchor for someone going through the process, so that our discomfort doesn't increase their pain...
Do you have a chip on your shoulder? You wouldn't be alone if you did, because honestly, nowadays it feels like we're always fighting in some competition, and sometimes one that we didn't even sign up for... And when we don't come up on top or achieve a certain standard, the dreaded and sticky label of failure shows it ugly head, and sometimes never leaves us... It's either Winner, or Loser... But does it really have to be that way? Or can we simply reframe the picture a different way that doesn't lead us to a lifetime of disappointments and the stooped shoulders of the eternally vanquished? There's a different way to tell the story, and this is what we discuss today in the Liku-Liku Podcast.
This is Reality Check, where we discuss important topics and concepts that form the foundation of our lives, and yet need to be contemplated so that perspectives may open the way to fresh new takes and hopefully help us deal with that nagging feeling of being stuck. "I'm having such a good time! I'm having a ball" said Good Old Freddie Mercury in the song Don't Stop Me Now. With 741 million views on YouTube, it's likely that a few of you will be familiar with the tune, but what does having a good time mean for you personally? And how frequently does that currently happen in your life? Because the truth is, although we have some ideas of how to have a good time for a few hours, we usually get lost when it comes to scaling that to our whole lifetime... So what is a Good Life? Is it just pleasure and fun, or is there more to it...? This is what we share today on the Liku-Liku Podcast.
This is Reality Check, where we discuss important topics and concepts that form the foundation of our lives, and yet need to be contemplated so that perspectives may open the way to fresh new takes and hopefully help us deal with that nagging feeling of being stuck. Unseen, Unheard, Unknown... Do you feel like any of these words could represent how you sometimes walk through life? At the Liku-Liku Podcast, we have all felt each of these at some point in our lives, and we even sometimes felt that unlucky trinity all in one go... It goes without saying that this a painful experience that we wish for no one, yet as Henry David Thoreau said that “The mass of men live lives of quiet desperation”... And the statistics on Depression, Suicide and Chronic Pain agree with this statement, so what do we do? In this last stretch home of an episode on Solutions for Pain, we share how Expressive Arts Therapies can be invaluable yet approachable ways to end the cycle of Pain, physical and psychological.
Ah... The mind... How beautiful and yet how misunderstood! The body's got its own share of misconceptions, but all in all, the mind can probably take the crown... And that's probably because when it comes to pain and health, there is no separation between the body and the mind... Sorry Descartes, but you missed the boat! So... Have you ever felt that you were your own worst enemy? And that despite knowing something about your patterns, you just can't seem to change them, whether they include your responses to Pain or other things? You're not alone and that's why today we exchange about Psychotherapy and the limitations of certain types when it comes to solutions that can help us come out on top of Pain with a better experience of Life.
This is Reality Check, where we discuss important topics and concepts that form the foundation of our lives, and yet need to be contemplated so that perspectives may open the way to fresh new takes and hopefully help us deal with that nagging feeling of being stuck. Happy belated New Year! If you follow the Solar Calendar. With any luck, resting has been good for any Pain that you might feel on a regular basis, and hopefully the prospect of returning to work didn't trigger any mind-body symptoms of Pain we've been talking about. Either way, this is what our Solutions for Pain are about! Whereas usually looking for treatment options feels like going into a large supermarket only to find out that most items are just the same thing with a different package, that's definitely not the case here! Each of the categories we present are radically different, and are even better combined in a holistic manner. Today we find out about the essential use of different forms of Movement to heal Pain.
Merry belated Xmas! If you celebrate the festive season. Hopefully the holidays gave you ample extra time to check out the 2 previous episodes on Pain, and you are now brimming with new, revised and updated knowledge about Pain (if you didn't, now is as good a time as any, and they are absolutely worth the effort). And yet, you tell me as they do in the rooms, "knowledge avails you nothing". And that's exactly why this Episode is to start getting a grasp of alternative solutions for the mind-body experiences of Pain that we can't seem to get rid of and is slowly becoming part and parcel of our daily lives... But before you dive in, a fair warning : just because solutions are often simple, that does not make the process easy...
This is Reality Check, where we discuss important topics and concepts that form the foundation of our lives, and yet need to be contemplated so that perspectives may open the way to fresh new takes and hopefully help us deal with that nagging feeling of being stuck. So it turns out Pain's a body-mind feature in Human Beings that connects the Software (mind stuff) and hardware (body stuff), NOT A BUG. Stops us from dying early, so a pretty useful feature too. Got it. But if Pain's kind of like an alarm system, what is it that tickles that Big Red Button? What is even more fascinating to consider, is how little attention we spend on trying to figure out what the root cause is. After all, when's the last time any treatment we received was actually dealing with anything but symptoms? As Dr Burkitt put it in a 1982 publication, Modern Medicine's more about mopping the floor of a leaking bathroom than turning off the taps... And somehow we swallowed the pill that made it all normal. But not here, no Sir! In this episode, we go to the deep end and reveal the real root cause of (Chronic) Pain. Pinky Promise!
This is Reality Check, where we discuss important topics and concepts that form the foundation of our lives, and yet need to be contemplated so that perspectives may open the way to fresh new takes and hopefully help us deal with that nagging feeling of being stuck. When's the last time you experienced PAIN? Whenever you listen to this, chances are you will already have had pain several times that same day. It comes in all sorts of flavours and is different for everyone, but we all know what pain is (unless you have a rare condition). And yet, when it comes about, our options to deal with it are actually pretty limited... don't you think? Painkillers, surgeries in extreme cases... not much else. How can the number 1 reason why people go see a doctor have so few solutions in our modern world? The truth is, even though we know the experience, most of us (including physicians) don't actually understand what Pain really is... Well, that's about to change! Today we go into a deep dive into what Pain really is and what its purpose is, in order to navigate our lives better. Especially for people who suffer the chronic type of pain : this episode is dedicated to you and your journey.
This is Reality Check, where we discuss important topics and concepts that form the foundation of our lives, and yet need to be contemplated so that perspectives may open the way to fresh new takes and hopefully help us deal with that nagging feeling of being stuck. Confidence... When we don't have it, things tend to fall apart, we lack the will to start things, are fearful of the consequences of our acts, second guess ourselves in a vicious circle of non achievement... But there is much misconception around what confidence really is, and what it means to those that are lucky to possess it... Is it a trait, or is it a state? Do we have it at birth, or do we work for it? And do we then keep it for life? These are some of the questions we answer on this week's episode of the Liku-Liku Podcast.
We don't always have a space to share how we feel without being judged... This is why we have REACH OUT, a space where we take messages from the listeners, basically You (if you want to) and relate to the topic and the messenger's situation, sharing our thoughts, feelings and experiences.
We hope that this can both help people who are going through similar experiences to hopefully feel understood and accepted, as well as people who have someone going through this around them.
As usual, please note that this is not a replacement for adequate treatment, so please get in touch with someone qualified to help you if you are struggling. There are also hotlines out there available 24/7 for when you feel these thoughts becoming too real. The World is a better place with You in it. Examples of useful resources:

349 Million People... This is the number of people estimated to be care-dependent worldwide... in 2017. Roughly the population of the USA, 10 times Malaysia's... With an aging population globally and a rampant increase in chronic disease everywhere we look, these numbers are unfortunate and scary, but hardly surprising. However, in that equation, someone is easily forgotten, besides the actual patient. That person has been called the "invisible patient", because we tend to forget about the heavy burden of caregiving... With that physical and mental health burden affecting between 25 and 60% of caregivers, this is something that needed to be talked about, in today's episode of the Liku-Liku Podcast.

I probably don't have to convince you or anyone that Exercise is good for you. An avalanche of articles online already does that, and the Fitness Club Memberships alone - 184 Million worldwide in 2019, equivalent to more than half of the US population or close to 6 times Malaysia's - confirm that. Science is also pretty unequivocal on that question, it's good for you. Or is it? In this simplified statement that conjures images of "No Pain No Gain" or "Better Sore Than Sorry" posters plastered on your typical gym walls, we tend to lose the details and subtlety of which types of exercises and routines are suitable and actually lead to individualized healthy goals for us. And are we even aware of the real reasons why we pursue fitness to begin with? This is what we discuss today in this episode of the Liku-Liku Podcast.

Being Human is a complicated and messy business... As an example of our paradoxical nature, we both want to be unique and to be similar to others, so that we can belong to a tribe. And so in order to communicate both our singularity and similarity, we need language that others around us can understand... Leading us to create Labels as shortcuts to mutual understanding. Common labels come ready-made from medicine and psychology (55,000 in the ICD-11 or International Classification of Diseases alone), but with gender identification and sexual preferences, skin color and ethnicity, personality and the likes, sky is the limit... Question is, are labels helpful? Or harmful? This is the topic of today's episode.
This is Reality Check, where we discuss important topics and concepts that form the foundation of our lives, and yet need to be contemplated so that perspectives may open the way to fresh new takes and hopefully help us deal with that nagging feeling of being stuck. Depression is a word that most of us have gotten familiar with. And with the pandemic, it seems it has made itself a comfortable place in our everyday vocabulary. "What's up with her?" "Oh, yeah, she's just depressed, you know?". With over 300 million people given the diagnosis globally and WHO ranking it as the single largest contributor to Years Lived with Disability (YLDs) in 2015, you would think people would acknowledge its existence. Why is it then, that people would question those that open up about their struggles with mental health conditions?
About Bother of the Week : Do you ever feel like your frustration about something in your daily life borders anger and threatens your peace and that of people you care about? We've all been there, far more often than we'd like to admit. We need release, with an outlet that won't criticize or retaliate after our display of raw unsettled emotions. And that's what Bother of the Week is about. We let out as human beings do. But because ranting is unhealthy and sets us on the path to becoming feral creatures on ungodly doses of night howlers (#zootopia), it is also the space in which we turn raw energy into insights and leave refreshed and at peace.
We hope that these discussions can help demonstrate that we are humans and do not need to be perfect, and yet can find the gold of connection in the emotional charge without beating ourselves over it.
As usual, please note that this is not a replacement for adequate treatment, so please get in touch with someone qualified to help you if you are struggling more than you should.

When I say Change, what do you see? Are you thinking Change for the Better or do you see a Post Apocalyptic Future devastated by Climate Change warnings Humans did not heed? Change can be many things at many levels, but at the personal level it is often something we both desire (think new year's resolutions maybe, like eating healthier or to stop smoking) and yet struggle to achieve and maintain... Why is that? And are there some recipes and tools we can use to guide us on our Hero's Journey? This is what we discuss in this week's Episode...
This is Reality Check, where we discuss important topics and concepts that form the foundation of our lives, and yet need to be contemplated so that perspectives may open the way to fresh new takes and hopefully help us deal with that nagging feeling of being stuck. Weight Loss is a big, profitable industry. Most of us have either tried managing our weight, or been around people trying to do so. But at 255 BILLION DOLLARS in 2021 and expected to grow by close to 50% in 6 years, you have to wonder whether this is an industry that thrives on the success of its Clients, or preys on their challenges... Caught in this are the people who suffer from Body Image issues and find it nearly impossible to lose the extra weight that is stopping them from feeling better about themselves. Today a Listener shares about her struggle, and we navigate this complex landscape to find explanations and solutions.
We don't always have a space to share how we feel without being judged... This is why we have REACH OUT, a space where we take messages from the listeners, basically You (if you want to) and relate to the topic and the messenger's situation, sharing our thoughts, feelings and experiences.

Food... Is there anything that's more attached to our culture, our heritage and our memories? Every one of those special moments that we put on replay, reminiscing both alone and with relatives and friends, is laced with flavours and scents that take us straight back there... But what happens the day we realize we may not indulge in our comfort foods, even temporarily, and even if the doc said it? Bad news... For most of us, there'd better be a good reason for someone to get between us and our foods. As you'll hear in this episode, we're hoping that health (or the lack thereof) is a good enough reason for us humanity to rethink our relationship with food and lifestyle...
This is Reality Check, where we discuss important topics and concepts that form the foundation of our lives, and yet need to be contemplated so that perspectives may open the way to fresh new takes and hopefully help us deal with that nagging feeling of being stuck. Religion, or Spirituality? What does that bring to your mind when you hear the words? Attractive, repulsive, comforting, judgemental, woo woo, indifferent... It's different for each and every one of us, and yet, we can't deny that it's one of the larger forces in our world, for better or worse. Today Amy shares with us her relationship with religion and we relate how we all feel about it and discuss what our experiences have been, are ,a and what they could be instead

Ever heard a buzzword sooo frequently that it gave you a headache and made you feel like it lost its meaning? For some, Holistic Health could be one of these concepts, and yet its applications and benefits are so powerful and so core to the way we see all things Health in Liku-Liku Center that we just cannot skip speaking about it. Whether it's something that you were already doing without knowing it or whether it's completely new and revolutionary to you, we hope this will help you approach health differently. Listen intently because we will probably mention HH in every subsequent episode!

Do you feel like there isn't a day that you don't hear someone saying that they are authentic, genuine, REAL? We do, and yet sometimes there's that sensation we get in our body that it doesn't feel right, and maybe we smirk or roll our eyes on the inside. So what does it even mean to be authentic, how do you know you are (or not), and why should you care?! And how on earth can it save your life!?

Do you find yourself wanting to move forward and onward with life, only to be dragged back into the past, and in one way or another reliving a specific event or series of events? Or maybe something or someone in your environment makes it difficult to move on... Case in point, many of us are told that Forgiveness is a must, at least for decent human beings… But what if what was done to us cannot be forgiven, or we at least feel that way...?
We don't always have a space to share how we feel without being judged... This is why we have REACH OUT, a space where we take messages from the listeners, basically You (if you want to) and relate to the topic and the messenger's situation, sharing our thoughts, feelings and experiences.
Today, we're getting a message on Sexual Abuse and Forgiveness, so although there is absolutely no description of any part of the event, make sure you're regulated going in. We handle the matter in a sensitive and heartfelt manner, in order to foster connection and relatability, but better be safe than sorry.
We hope that this can both help people who are going through similar experiences to hopefully feel understood and accepted, as well as people who have someone going through this around them.
As usual, please note that this is not a replacement for adequate treatment, so please get in touch with someone qualified to help you if you are struggling. "Aaaargh! Make it stop!". Ever felt like life was too much, and your thoughts way too many to handle? We have, and still do. Being human can be simplified to walking an invisible line drawn between boredom and overwhelm, and today we have a deep dive into the latter. Some stories, feelings and tools are shared, and some well needed relief from being able to exchange about our experience naturally ensued for us. Why don't you check it out and see if you get some relief too?
If you want to send a message, you can do so through the Anchor page below, where you can anonymously share a voice memo. All we will mention is an Initial, and your gender if you mention it.

Small Disclaimer : You might notice that the audio's not the best. This was recorded very early on when we were just practicing but we felt the content could be of value for people struggling with these issues. We didn't have our audio (or the name of the podcast!) properly sorted out, but for us it's about connection and not perfection. So bear with us as we gradually improve our audio and content quality :-)
We release new episode every week, each week with a different segment, switching between Reach Out, Reality Check, Bother of the Week, and Guest Interviews.

Change is good, right? Fresh new coat of paint, new car smell, welcoming the new you after new year's resolutions... But what if it's OTHERS telling you to change...? Suddenly it doesn't feel the same! In this episode, we talk about Alan’s Bother of the Week, and we take a good look at ourselves! And others too, to find the gold in these tragic little moments of discomfort.

Ever felt like you don't know what to do next? Like things don't make sense around you? Maybe it's just us, but we feel that this is something that is really challenging us on a regular basis, and very relevant in today's world. Put 7 billion confused individuals on a perfectly fine planet, shake and you get the current state of affairs on our little pale blue dot. But is it all bad? Or is that something that perhaps has a reason to be and that we can make use of? Today we share our experiences and stories, as well as ways to make the best out of something unpleasant.
This is Reality Check, where we discuss important topics and concepts that form the foundation of our lives, and yet need to be contemplated so that perspectives may open the way to fresh new takes and hopefully help us deal with that nagging feeling of being stuck. Ah, this is one topic that we will never lose interest for. Do you have someone special? Not everybody is or will be married, but most people will end up in one form of relationship or another. For better, or... for worse. Today we discuss one of human society’s oldest tradition and most significant element, yet even after thousands of studies and experiences, we still can’t seem to get it right. There are still various misconceptions surrounding our belief and practices about how marriage and relationships work. For example, some communities still believe that having kids should only happen between married couples. Some still stigmatise divorces and same-sex marriages. Some just don’t believe in marriages at all.

In this episode, we talk about Amy’s Bother of the Week, sexual harassment and how our society might have contributed to the culture of enabling such incidents. Sexual harassment has been an issue for decades, yet, many who experienced it still feel unsafe to come out with their stories. Could there be something in the way we have been operating as a society that contributes to this fear? Could we have played a role in perpetuating this issue, whether or not we realize it?
We hope that these discussions can help demonstrate that we are humans and do not need to be perfect, and yet can find the gold of connection in the emotional charge without beating ourselves over it.

Hello, how are you? And more importantly, how are you sleeping these days? We know sleep is the core foundation of our sanity and well-being, and yet sometimes it seems like an impossible task to simply get a few hours of good shut-eye... And when we can't force ourselves to do something that should be so simple... well you know the rest.
This is why today, in this Reach Out Session, we discuss a message that involves difficulty finding sleep and self-punitiveness. For those that listen to Reach Out for the 1st time, we don't always feel good, especially nowadays, and we don't always have a space to share how we feel without being judged... This is why we have REACH OUT, a space where we take messages from the listeners, basically You (if you want to) and relate to the topic and the messenger's situation, sharing our thoughts, feelings and experiences.
We hope that this can help release some of the stress around sleeplessness and bring a healthier way to look ourselves when we can't find sleep, or when for any reason we end up beating ourselves over small things.
As usual, please note that this is not a replacement for adequate treatment, so please get in touch with someone qualified to help you if you are struggling more than you should.

Hello, how are you doing today, for real? We don't always feel good, especially nowadays, and we don't always have a space to share how we feel without being judged... This is why we have REACH OUT, a space where we take messages from the listeners, basically You (if you want to) and relate to the topic and the messenger's situation, sharing our thoughts, feelings and experiences.
Today, we're getting a message on Self Harm and Suicidal Thoughts, so make sure you're regulated going in, if this is the sort of thing that can trigger you...
There are also hotlines out there available 24/7 for when you feel these thoughts becoming too real. The World is a better place with You in it. Examples of useful resources:
