We’ve already seen how vital honouring God is - and the trouble that the nation of Israel is in due to people honouring themselves more than God and his ways, particularly their leaders - Eli and his sons. We are jolted by the reality of where all of that ends up… when God himself exits the building, or, at least, the symbol of his presence does - the ark of the covenant. So, we’re confronted with a warning, but, we’ll find, also with hope.
