In March 2025, I went to Powell River, British Columbia, Canada for a haunted getaway. Nothing like going to a familiar haunted places to check in with the spirits. However, I wasn't expecting this surprising spirit to manifest how it did.

I stopped doing private home investigations a few years back. I’ve had a few too many bad experiences, and here are the reasons why I pass on residential ghost hunts.
First off, most people are very nice and welcoming to paranormal investigations. It just takes a few bad actors to make you change your mind about home investigations.
There’s no shame ghost hunting by yourself. I’ve gone on plenty of investigations alone, and I’ve made plenty of mistakes on solo ghost hunts. When I started, I didn’t have a mentor. I read some books, watched some shows, and then picked up my MEL meter and headed out into the dark. Luckily, I had some street smarts about me because I started in Chicago. Big cities will definitely make your much more aware of your environment, eh?
Anyway, here’s the advice I hope you take to heart as a solo ghost hunter.
Jake reflects on his 16-years experience chasing after barely audible whispers, shadowy figures and blinking gizmos. He shares 10 things to remember or take to heart as you meander through your paranormal journey.

Cozy ghost hunting treats an investigation like a mystery to solve. You follow a haunted lead, find clues, present evidence, and try to solve the case. There's more emphasis on having a small team and on experiments that prove the ghost's identity and motivation.
On a side note, I'll make more podcasts like this informative one or tutorials for ghost-hunting techniques, evidence analysis, and ghost-hunt reports. There will be ghost stories but not as often as before.

The SS Bannockburn sank during a storm on Lake Superior in 1902. Twenty sailors died in the disaster. It's one of the greatest mysteries of the Great Lakes. To this day, no one has found its wreck.
But the Bannockburn lives on as a ghost ship. The most recent sighting happened in 2016. She's nicknamed The Flying Dutchman of the Great Lakes (or Lake Superior in some cases).

We’ve all heard the stories about demon dolls and other haunted objects. In most cases, a family member buys an antique that just happens to have something paranormal attached to it. Now, you have to think twice about that item you buy from eBay.
Haunted mines are excavations with the spirits of miners who perished in a disaster. Most disasters are quick: They kill the miners so fast, they don’t realize they died. It infuses the mine with their life force and creates a haunting.
Haunted mines usually happen when the mine shaft collapses, there's an explosion, or it floods. Limestone and coal mines have the most disasters. There's also something called a damp, which creates a deadly environment for the men in the mines.

On June 5, 2020, AGHOST investigated the Georgetown Inn in Seattle, Washington. To our knowledge, no other team has publicly shared their investigation.
The Georgetown Inn sits near the site of an infamous tuberculosis hospital, Morningside Tuberculosis Hospital, which existed from 1928 - 1947. Maybe some of those ghosts came to visit us?

Ghostly Activities took 3 new gadgets into the field to test how they work. These included:
- GS2 Laser Grid System
- Flux 2
- Electrascope
The GS2 performed best under indoor conditions. The Flux 2 added to a trigger object section, but under limited use cases. The Electrascope was a bust under all conditions. If you had to pick one, go with the GS2.
