This book is set in 1976 abouta black woman named Dana Franklin, who on her 26th birthday, is suddenly transported back to the 1800’s to the antebellum South of Maryland in order to save a young white boy named Rufus Weylin a number of times from dying long enough for her great grandmother Hagar to be born and what she experienced during that time.
