The word “Christian” is only found three times in the New Testament.

Early believers self-identified as followers or disciples.

The concept of discipleship was familiar to Jesus’ audience.

Jesus chooses disciples; not we Him.

God is not looking for A listers to fill his roster. He is looking for people who will be faithful to the task.

Believers are asked to participate in two tasks:

1) following Jesus and 2) bringing people to Jesus.

Most people come to Christ through a personal relationship.

Ž invests in individuals and expects God to save them

Luke 15:1-7

The lost sheep is about God’s love for lost people.
