Vladislav Surkov is the high ranking Putin advisor behind the Russian propaganda war in Ukraine.
In March of twenty-fourteen after the annexation of Crimea, the Canadian, European Union and U.S. governments froze Surkov’s foreign bank accounts and banned him from traveling to their countries.
Afterwards, a Kremlin reporter asked if he would miss visiting the United States.
Surkov responded,
“The only things that interest me in the U.S. are Tupac Shakur, Allen Ginsberg, and Jackson Pollock. I don’t need a visa to access their work. I lose nothing.”
Vladislav Sarkov also writes fiction. On march 12, 2014, he published his story, Without Sky, under a pseudonym.
The next day, 10,000 Russian soldiers were sent to the border of Ukraine.
This is the story --- it is propaganda, but also a vision an elite.
