Worship: It Takes Both
9:20-32
- Worship, as a verb, is the act of supremely prioritizing something or someone that I love the most and gives my life its greatest meaning and security
-
- I need to keep an eye on the good things in my life that they don’t become “god” things.
- Weak worship comes from:
- Poor connection with God
- Weak view of God
- Worship takes both: (9:28; John 4:23-24)
- My head (Romans 12:1-2)
- My beliefs should lead my emotions in worship
- My heart (Psalm 86:12; 100:1-5)
- My emotions in worship strengthen my relationship with God
- This Week’s Activate Faith
- Worship with my head by remembering God giving me rest from my enemies
- Worship with my heart by singing to God of His goodness and greatness
