Here is the 31st instalment of the Asylum Hour series.
I'd like to kick things off by thanking everyone who has downloaded /
streamed / shared the mixes in 2013.
I recorded this session a few days after I learned about the passing
of a very good friend of mine. He was the most musical person I've
ever met, a singer , poet , producer, songwriter , dj , keyboard
player , a major mixed bag of limitless talent.
So this mix features some of the tracks I used to bounce off him , and
some of the new material I wanted to play for him. I hope you'll
enjoy the mix as you play it.
This session has everything , deep tech , soulful house, broken beats
and some nu jazz at the end. It features tracks by Be , Pablo Bolivar
, Max Graef , The Sunburst Band, Detroit Swindle , Rick Wade , Hi-Tek
& J Boogie's Dubtronic Science to name a few.
Its sad that some stars get taken out before they get to shine , but
Obakeng Ramoratha Mothoa is a man that will never be forgotten.
