The Sound Chaser Progressive Rock Podcast is on the air. Sound Chaser takes a trip to Middle-Earth. On the show this time I have music inspired by the literary works of J.R.R. Tolkien. No matter what one thinks about the Rings of Power series, one cannot deny that it has sparked renewed interest in all things Tolkien. The Sound Chaser Progressive Rock Podcast is on the air. The show this time takes a look at CD labels that primarily released new progressive rock since the prog rock revival of the mid 1990s. We will hear music from labels that sadly no longer exist and labels that are currently running. The prog rock revival probably never would have happened, or never would have created the diversity and number of music acts that we have today, if it had not been for independent labels taking financial risk to release music that major labels just would not touch. This show is dedicated to them, with the addition of what has become the one “major” label of prog. It’s all here on Sound Chaser.

The Sound Chaser Progressive Rock Podcast is on the web again. The show this time is the second of my spotlight series on the record labels of progressive music. A few shows back we took a listen to music from the foundational labels of progressive rock. This time, we are looking at music from the cd labels that specialize in reissuing classic progressive music. So, we will be staying in the 70s and 80s for the music, but residing in the 90s and later for the labels. We also have an embedded In Memoriam segment for the late guitarist Ricky Gardiner of Beggars Opera. All that, plus news of tours and releases on Sound Chaser.

The Sound Chaser Progressive Rock Podcast reaches a milestone. This is show #200. It took 7 ½ years to get here. In celebration of reaching 200 shows, this episode is dedicated to those acts that have supported the show by supplying music to Sound Chaser headquarters. I tried to get everyone in who had sent us music over the years, but I may have forgotten an act or two. If you are one of them and listening to this show wondering "what about me?", it is simply that memory is imperfect. There are a couple of acts not in this show because I could not fit them in without the show blowing up to an unwieldly length. No slight is intended. Additionally, I have a special Sound Chaser legacy segment. The Sound Chaser podcast is the latest edition of the Sound Chaser Progressive Rock Radio program, which began under that name in 1990 at KCSB FM in Santa Barbara, California, before moving in 1994 to KGHP FM in Gig Harbor, Washington, and KAOS FM in Olympia, Washington, to June, 1997. While the show was in Washington, some prog artists sent cds to the show for play on the radio stations. We will be going back to those days of the misty past in the third hour of this episode. All that, plus news of tours and releases on episode 200 of Sound Chaser.
