Thank you for tuning into another episode of "Unapologetically Black" brought to you by "Unapologetically Her" In light of the protests and all that has been going both across the border and here in our backyard, I realized that it’s not only my due diligence but my responsibility and right to use my platform to not only voice my thoughts and feelings but to allow others to share their voice and thoughts as well. The goal is to not only discuss what’s going on but to discuss how we’re feeling, talk about personal experiences, our history, about oppression, interracial relationships, what it’s like to be out there on the front lines, how it feels to be black in today’s society. There are so many different ways to experience it, but in one way or another, we’re all able to relate to each other. The goal is to touch on the things we don’t always get to hear about, and from the voices that you wouldn’t normally hear from on a day to day basis. In the first half of the episode, I am joined by Melissa and we are discussing oppression, both in our everyday life and in the media. In the second half of the episode, I am joined by Allison and we are discussing interracial relationships during this time.  The piece that you heard recited at the beginning of the episode is titled “White and Black” by Tarik Boyce from his first book of poetry “Black, Blue, Green.” A book with a collection of 10 years of poetry writing.
