We began the recording after the first part of the sermon. We apologize for the inconvenience. Below, you can see what was covered before the recording began.

[1] Therefore, my brothers, whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm thus in the Lord, my beloved.

Stand firm. That is where we are going with the rest of chapter 4.

Standing firm as it relates to Spiritual stability. We can not be spiritually unstable. Why? Because life is full contact.

There are those who are spiritually strong and spiritually weak. People who are tossed back and forth by bad doctrine, circumstances, or problems are unstable.

Life happens. Problems arise in our marriages, finances, purity, anger, etc. At Hill City we say that when we stumble, we want to stumble forward. Don't give up the fight when you stumble. Stand firm!

Paul doesn't just say, "stand firm." He tells the Philippians (and us) to STAND FIRM IN THE LORD. Standing firm is not something we do through our own will power. "Trying harder" is not the answer. There is some effort, but ultimately we stand firm in our union with Christ.
